I think he may pull it off this time. I think she gotten too looney even for her conservative district. BTW, the guy came back again and said I hadn’t presented any facts. Therefore he wasn’t going to discuss anymore. I was tempted to tweet him back that he probably believes that ACORN really was going to help somebody with prostitutes and the NEW Black Panthers really were into voter intimidation, but that woudl have started another worthless string.
And, yes, I think he has a very good chance. Know folk in the neighboring CD and know they are going to be very supportive of him in terms of resources.
You could give him all the facts in the world…like the earth is round, and he STILL wouldn’t believe you:) Probably believes it’s 6,000 years old and people rode dinosaurs, too. You just can’t fix stupid.
Actually, I don’t think he is one of those. Actually fairly civil. I have dropped it. It is when you get those that get into name dropping that I stop right at the beginning.
Michele Bachmann won for their was a referendum on the ballot wanting MN to Constitutionally make marriage strictly between a Man and a Woman. Minnesotans rejected that, than goodness. However, Dist 6 is the most rightie in MN and her staunch supporters came out and helped re-elect Bachmann. The redistricting was not in her favor. It removed her from the district……but she was allowed to run for she had been living in that district before the redistricting. No doubt Jim Graves would do better in 2014. The money being there and with a leg up now, he should be able to oust Michele Bachmann.
And they turned entire MN state assembly blue in 2012, didn’t they ?
If the dems put in some resources, bat shit crazy is toast.
I remember reading in equally basthit crazy kos-kistan a particular dood who was obsessed with her and was constantly saying how this idjit would upset Obama come 2012.
Bernie Becker – 04/12/13 01:20 PM ET
The anti-tax activist suggested Obama is pushing a “hidden tax increase” with his proposed change to Social Security.…
Oh, Jovie, our President is not in any trap and the folk who are against him today are the same losers who’ve been against him since the bitter cold morning in Springfield in 2007.
Well, as usual I was talking to myself at the end of the last thread. I’m excited tonight, because tomorrow I will get to see my grandkids for the first time in over three months. They visited us the end of December, but my husband is now ready to travel, after his pacemaker implant last year. They have bought a new house, so we’ll get to see that too, but I’m excited to see my grandkiddies and for them to see how healthy and crazy their grandfather is again.
I’ll see you all Monday or Sunday. I’m just going to revel in grandchildren!
Evening all. First chance I’ve had to share this: Was in the car today and had Ed on for awhile (ended up changing to The Message) but was glad I heard this one particular guest. Yes, guest, not just a caller. It was a woman (southern accent) who had worked very actively in OFA in both 2008 and 2012. She talked at great length about how so many people she talked with on front porches, etc………assured them that PO would not touch or cut SS and Medicare….blah blah blah. You get the picture. She then talked about she is SO disappointed in PO; how she feels betrayed (Ed really kept going back to that word)……how she feels that because she trusted and believed him and assured all those people she talked to, she feels she lied to them and let them down….blah blah blah. She did say she will continue to work in OFA because she so strongly believes in the rest of his agenda (gun reform, immigration, education, r/d, etc.) but she certainly won’t give any money and won’t work as hard as before. It was very difficult to listen to but felt I needed to tough it out if for no other reason to report here. No, we’re not surprised, but I did want to let you all know.
Also, just heard on our local news a report on the Lincoln Day Dinner. The R’s had Ron Paul as the speaker. Reporter did a short interview w/him. He didn’t say anything new, btw. The reporter, in talking w/leading Republican’s “reported” that R’s are attracting younger folks because of the economy and wish for smaller government. 1, 2, 3—laughter! 🙂
TNM, thanks for sharing. I personally do not agree with offering up the Chain-CPI as part of the budget negotiation. IMO, SS should be discussed separately. However, I trust President Obama, because I truly believe he is endowed with great wisdom and he has not failed this country. If anything, the country has failed him.
Tis^^^. I am with you. I totally trust PBO on this as he has earned it. He has never let me down, but so many Americans do not have his back. I am not one of them.
Great dinner tonight! Speakers included Jim Burns, Chair, PA Dems; Bob Brady (PA-01) and Chair, Philly Dems; Rob McCord, PA Treasurer; and Keynote Allyson Schwartz, PA-13 and candidate for governor. About 400 people attended — good turnout for a non-presidential year. I believe that this year, we will finally elect Dems to the county council!
BTW, Rob McCord all but announced that he too is running for governor. Will be a crowded Dem primary; but, as long as they keep it clean, focus on issues, and coalesce around the primary winner, I’m good with a contested primary. Goal is to kick corbett out of the governor’s mansion!
Alycee, if Sestak doesn’t enter the race, my personal favorite is McCord. He’s a dynamic speaker and has a ‘presence’ as well as a solid rep as a progressive and I think he could win decisively. I have never heard Allyson Schwartz speak. What is she like?
Alycee,we had a great turnout at our Spring dinner with mostly the B list speakers, although Joe Sestak showed up and gave brief remarks. Two of the long-shot candidates for governor came out–John Hanger, a really nice guy with a deep concern for the environment, and Max Myers, a former pastor, who was a little slippery on his position on social issues. We also had two Lt. Governor candidates, Mark Smith and Brad Kopinski, and a host of local candidates. I agree that the enthusiasm is high this year and Democrats can smell the blood the blood in the water with Corbett. I had a chance to talk briefly with Sestak and asked him to throw his hat in the ring for governor. He said he was debating whether to run against Corbett or Toomey. Of course, I didn’t mention that I want Kathleen Kane to run against Toomey in 2016 and cream him.
If you’re in the market for a home today and want 50 or 60 bedrooms, Downton Abbey is apparently for sale and has been since February. The price? A mere $400 million. I wonder if the furniture goes with it?
Good Morning to Everyone who is up and listening to the birds this glorious Saturday morning…..I’m not b/c there are no birds singing in my backyard…..as I told you the other day, all of a sudden the birds and squirrels disappeared from my yard. Thought perhaps it was b/c storms were predicted to be in my area that night….NOPE….they have remained missing and I think I might know why….hawk…see a hawk casing the yard…so….I duck taped an umbrella onto the pole to give the birds cover from above….lets see how that works out….hopefully better than the GOP stance on background checks when the storm of the American People hits them….powerful weekly statement on PBO’s weekly address. Those Newtown parents are heros.

#FORWARD Together
Congrats Bob!
What a lovely picture, UT. Thank you. And, thank you for the new thread!!
Hop Graves kick her out of office. Congrats on first Bobfr.
Oops meant “hope”. 🙂
Thank you, COS, and I agree!!! 🙂

Best to let it drop …. those folk are truly hopeless – sadly.

All for the best
#1, 2, and 3: bobfr! Now, that is what I like!!
Congrats, Bob, on being #1! I hope this time around Jim Graves ends the presence of the insane Michele Bachmann on the national scene.
May the force be with him! And congrats on 1st, Bobfr!
Congrats Bobfr.

Hey UT.
Hey COS. Here you go. 😀
Don’t kick me for being “sexist” but aren’t they the three sexiest guys EVER?!
you sexist, commie, socialist, sexist you!! 😎 Clearly, the younger guy is a Biden, but which one?
Hunter Biden.
Hot ❗ Hot ❗ Hot ❗ Yeah 😉
The one in the middle?
Perfect. I was just about to suggest a new thread in the last thread.
Mind reader you, ut.
🙂
So, what do you think Jim Graves’ odds are of winning? I never understood how Michele Bachmann got elected, let alone RE-elected….
In 2012, primarily because of an aggressively gerrymandered CD. But, this time around, from what my friends tell me, even that won’t help her.
He only lost by i believe .5 % he has a very good chance….plus he cant self fund.
Thank God I left that sewer long time back.
Didn’t she get in by a squeaker in 2012 ? It’s doable.
Yep. 50.5 to 49.4
As was the case for Ryan – who will also be aggressively challenged in 2012.
Hit all the obstructing mofos like ryan, cantor, mcturtle et. al. with laser like focus in 2014. It can be done.
Precisely. And that is exactly what OFA will be doing 🙂
Yes Indeed!
At least Graves has name recognition now.
Lots of it. And, he’s solid.
Ryan? Who’s Ryan? Oh, yeah, another slice of TOAST.
oooh, this is good news. I didn’t know it was so close. GOOD ON THEM to get Mr. Graves elected!!!
LOL!
Hallelujah – that sounds wonderful.

Pffft!!
So, now he will have left and right against him? Whose trap?
Oh, Jovie, our President is not in any trap and the folk who are against him today are the same losers who’ve been against him since the bitter cold morning in Springfield in 2007.
#TrustBarack He’s EARNED It
Oh, I trust Barack, it’s the rest of Washington I have a problem with. The Beltway is very devious. 😦
Thanks for reminding us of “the bitter cold morning in Springfield in 2007”! I remember it like it were yesterday.
Well, as usual I was talking to myself at the end of the last thread. I’m excited tonight, because tomorrow I will get to see my grandkids for the first time in over three months. Soak it up, Carolyn, have a most wonderful time!
Have a lovely time. Forget tod. 🙂
Wishing you, your husband, and family a delightful time together, Carolyn!!
Enjoy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
🙂
Have a great time, Carolyn. Nothing brings a bigger smile to your face than being with grandkids.
Or (here she goes again) your first great grandkid! 🙂

Rest well, MP, and hope you are steadily recovering!!
What already ??? I just got here.
Just again finish listening to FLOTUS wonderful speech when she was in Chicago Wednesday.

Thanks so much, Jovie!
The BBC has defended its decision not to play in full on Radio 1’s Official Chart Show a song at the centre of an anti-Baroness Thatcher campaign.
A five second clip of Ding Dong! The Witch is Dead will be played in a news item on Sunday’s show.
BBC Radio 1 controller Ben Cooper said the move over the Wizard of Oz film track had been a difficult compromise.
He said he had to balance respect for someone who had just died with issues around freedom of speech.
Sales of the song, from the 1939 musical starring Judy Garland, have soared since former Prime Minister Lady Thatcher’s death on Monday, aged 87.

I see ol’ Newt Gingrich is attending the funeral. Enough said.
Newt is a shameless grifter.
Yes, that’s a start … for all the names we could call him!

Alycee, has Allyson officially declared yet?
Yes, this past Monday.
