I’d love it if the President says to his dinner guests, “Sorry, guys, we’re just having cold salad tonight. Had to let some of the staff go, due to the sequester.” Or maybe they could order pizza delivery.

I think they are getting rather sophisticated regarding these types of events, Chips. Rather than having 1000s of folk hitting their media streaming server all at once. Having a time posted earlier than the start of the event, they may have an easier time load balancing as well as analyzing just how much load they are likely to experience through the duration of the performance. Just a guess.

So ridiculous and hateful. I still think that we should ask ANY ONE of these guys if they allow guns in their offices..if no, why not? I guarantee you, it’s another case of “do what I say, not as I do.” They’re chickenshits…we need to push them until we get this done. When they directly go against what the MAJORITY OF AMERICANS want…they should be thrown out of office. They are bought and paid for and don’t give 2 shits about anything other than NRA $$$.

Another thing I heard on the way home from work today…call your reps/ senators and ask them to do a town hall in your neighborhood. You’ll learn a lot from their response, either way…then write a LTE about what went down…or DIDN’T go down 🙂 MAKE THEM ACCOUNTABLE IN A MAJOR WAY.

This idiot is one half of my senatorial team! He humiliates us all the time. This time, really over the top.
One of our good friends publishes the Oklahoma Observer, the only liberal voice in the state, and knows these jerks well. He says that Inhofe, just plain is not bright, but of course that is no excuse. He comes from a wealthy family in the eastern part of the state, so is a fundraising juggernaut. His ignorance is legendary.
Oh yes…..remember the info about Warren Buffett buying newspapers in the country…….well,he bought the Tulsa World a couple of months ago, the second major newspaper in the state besides the OKC Daily Joklahoman. Well……it is battling Gov Fallin and her turndown of medicaid funds. Someone finally is speaking up to her. It is an influential paper in the state. We’re now hoping Warren Buffett will buy the Oklahoman!

Inhofe is one of the dumbest Senators in history! The majority of the people in Oklahoma should be ashamed for voting for him.

      April 9, 2013 at 10:00 pm

Df, it’s a stiff competition for the vilest person in the Senate, but Inhofe makes the top of the list today. If this guy ever had open heart surgery, they’d find an empty cavity.

      April 9, 2013 at 9:55 pm

LDS, Paul Robeson is one of my heroes! He was one of the most committed fighter for workers’ rights, human rights, and world peace. He was also an amazing singer and actor. One the lowest moments of the great Jackie Robinson’s life was when he agreed to appear before the Senate committee to denounce Paul Robeson because Robeson had made a statement at the Paris Peace Conference that African Americans were not interested in fighting a war with the then Soviet Union.

I can’t either, but it’s going to happen. My granddaughter was born in Aug 2008, he’s the only President she’s known. She got very upset that r’money was running against HER president in 2012; she kept saying “I already have a President, I don’t need another”

My 10 year old granddaughter was so disappointed that FLOTUS and the girls were not at the Kid’s Choice Awards this year. She asked what happened? Well, can’t tell the last time I had such a terrific night out, and I didn’t have to worry about what to wear! 😆

Hate to go off topic here, but an interesting word from my part of the country, NOT about Jim Inhofe. Sunday morning our pastor was talking about how sometimes civil disobedience is necessary and godly. He gave several examples…..obvious to all of us. He then said that a member of Mayflower would be expressing this disobedience during the week, and smiled to the front right of the sanctuary.
Well, tonight we were watching Chris Hayes and he did his Click 3 segment. The second segment showed the lady from our church who chained herself to the XL pipeline in Arkansas and kept them from operating for 3 to 4 hours. She was not arrested, but she made a proud statement. I looked at the picture, and thought…..Oh, I know her! I was so proud to know her. She is a tiny woman with a big heart and a big mind. Wow!
By the way, his segment on gun legislation was excellent. Ryan Grim said that the Newtown parents made a big difference on Capitol Hill today, and tomorrow Toomey and Manchin will hold a press conference to announce the background check legislation. Chris also said that the President’s stragegy has been brilliant on this….”Just have the vote. They deserve a vote.” Don’t ask to pass the legislation, just do the American way and have a vote.

This was a beautiful night for all of us to chill and just appreciate who is our president. Then looking at him groove into the evening to the music, great moments. Watching our beautiful and elegant First Lady smiling and loving the moments with her husband, our brilliant president and our lovely and beautiful First Daughters brought much joy to my heart. Did you all see First Grandma loving lovely as well. Also our lovely Dr. Jill Biden looking lovely. Where was VPBiden?

It was so nice to see some supporters of POB and Dr. Sharon M. Holder (AG Eric Holder’s beautiful wife) was making some serious dance moves as well along with our Valarie Jarret. It was a nice time to break away and enjoy this evening with great music.
Our WhiteHouse will never be the same when our First Family departs in 2017. So let us not forget to enjoy every moment that we can this second term.

((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((( Many loving thanks to our beautiful Chips also)))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))

We have the most wonderful family ever here. Love you all. Keep the music in your hearts and dance, dance, dance.HZ

Hi, HZ. Love how we all use “our” in front of “White House” and “Valerie Jarret” and all kinds of things that we are all sharing in, with this White House!

HZ, as always, your comment is filled with love and inclusiveness, which is truly the essence of Barack Obama’s presidency. I am very thankful that Chipsticks dedicated her blog to covering and appreciating President Obama. The music tonight took me back to my youthful days. I am glad to see that I am not alone. It’s incredibly beautiful to see people of all ages dancing and appreciating all types of music. Music really does speak a universal language!

Okay. I did get to see Queen Latifah sing and the ending. Really a treat to see this at the WH.
Everyone needed this including us. It is amazing that we have such a fantastic couple who is so alive and so gets it.
I admire the girls and their friend who bravely sat through this and looked interested.
