Chat away, night owls

Just a little thank you to LovelyPlains for everything recently. He might never forgive me for this …. but he has been going through a really tough time with his father’s serious illness, and while waiting for results from his father’s recent operation and visiting him in hospital, he’s also had to keep up with college work. His father is due to have another major operation soon, so wishing him all the very, very best. Endless thanks to LovelyPlains for, somehow, contributing so much to TOD during such a difficult time – can never, ever thank him enough.

Yes LovelyPlains. I pray for strength and peace for you. Sometimes the waiting (for test results, for a surgery to be over) is the hardest part. I remember when my mother was ill and waiting for her test results. So hard. So thanks for all you have done and we wish you the best in your courses and in taking care of you father. Don’t forget to breathe .. and to take care of yourself too.

Enjoy every second of the grandbabe…before you know it you will be attending graduation….real soon! College, I mean.

Thank you vc. Maybe we will finally get some intense focus on the GOP filibuster abuse. It is long past due for them to pay a price for their obstruction. They are cowards hiding behind the filibuster. Krystal Ball was on The Last Word with Lawrence O’Donnell and she said (paraphrasing) if we don’t have votes we don’t have a democracy. I’ll post the segment in the morning.

Mr. Bobfr, you are most welcome.
“Friends tell friends the truth.” As per our President.

It is so frustrating to see this wonderful man work so hard day after day while others “play politics” just because they can.
I am torn between some days never ever wanting this family to ever leave the WH…..and then there are days I just want them to have peace and live their lives as a loving family. Everything he does or does not do is scrutinized and that damn Bush family just rode out as a hero instead of zero!

Can’t McConnell read? Does he have to have every Senate bill explained to him? He just told everyone that he’s too incompetent to be a senator, let alone a minority leader.

FORT BLISS, Texas (AP) โ€” A West Texas military base said Friday it plans to build the U.S. militaryโ€™s largest solar energy farm.

Fort Bliss commander Gen. Dana Pittard made the announcement and touted the Army baseโ€™s other green initiatives, including planting 14,700 trees, encouraging the use of energy-efficient vehicles and building bicycle lanes.

The Army wants to generate about one gigawatt of power from renewable energies by 2025 โ€”about a tenth of its total consumption or enough power to supply at least 250,000 homes. However, Fort Bliss decided to take it even further and plans to become a โ€œnet zeroโ€ installation by 2018, meaning the base will generate all the energy it uses, between 65 to 70 megawatts.

Once completed, the 200-acre solar farm is expected to generate 20 megawatts of electricity, about a third of the baseโ€™s needs. It will join a 1.4 megawatt solar farm that currently sits a few hundred yards from Fort Blissโ€™ headquarters and a 13.4 megawatt array of solar panels already installed on the rooftops of residential buildings and other areas around the base.

LovelyPlains, like all the other three of your helpers, has done a fabulous job filling in for you. He also contributes so much information in the comment section and the tweets he shares. It’s been nearly a month since I left a certain cesspool on in the internet and I can’t tell you how happier and relaxed I’ve been. Most my news now comes from Chris Matthews and Al Sharpton, who seem to get it on this whole budget debate, and it really opened me up to an entire new feeling – I’m less bitter and angry than I was before. It is amazing how toxic people can make your life so toxic and unpleasant. Outrage over mindless BS is just as frustrating when it comes from the left as it is when it comes from the right.

But I bet my blood pressure is better today than a month ago…and I’m actually happier and more confident about the world than I was when I viewed through the hateful, partisan prism of an ideology that, while I agree with it on many fronts, has been corrupted by the worst we have to offer.

    It’s a pleasant feeling.

    Just thought I’d share. ๐Ÿ™‚

Just got done writing to Senator Flake….he needs a BIG PUSH. I will keep on pushing and pushing.

Been reading but not posting…..been quite an emotional day. I am in awe of this President. In awe of the Newtown families. If they can do this, surely we can not be silent. My voice will be raised to the heavens until they listen and hear us. I do this for my children and the ones that were taken too soon…. I won’t shut up and sit down!
