I’m still laughing as I think of all the thoughts that would have been going through my head if I had been Jay Carney today observing Ed Henry swan dive onto the fainting couch ….
Oh Bobfr, this is hilarious. I laughed out loud when I saw your comment. I love it. It conjures up quite an image of the ‘Cheshire Cat’ of the WH Briefing Room. The constant smirk on his face drives me crazy.
Gonna have to disagree with this tweet. The first show has been good so far. Of course he’s going to have some annoying crap as with all cable pundits down the line (seems to be par for the course) but the first show has covered some important issues and the one area I give him credit is that his guests are diverse. Not just white males with the same beltway media driven POV as seen on Sunday shows.
To be honest UT, I didn’t even watch – I genuinely can’t stand the guy (particularly his Greenwald fetish). But your report sounds good, maybe he’s reacting to the push-back on his PL tendencies? We’ll see.
This is the inaugural week. Suck folks in and then slowly but surely begin the process of undermining the President and instilling doubt in his supporters and/or Democrats. I’ve seen this movie before, and I know how it ends. But I have no objection to folks watching if they fill the show meets their needs.
Yeah, I’m wary of him too Hopefruit, but I’ll be curious to see if that pushback I mentioned has any impact on him. If he turns the show in to Firebagger TV, well….. but I am encouraged by UT’s summary of tonight’s effort.
Yup – that’s their M.O. absolutely. Suck people in, build up some credibility among the unsuspecting, and then use that credibility to raise “concerns” about President Obama and the Democratic agenda. I don’t have time or patience for that.
You’re exactly right theo…and those “concerns” are typically raised at the most crucial periods, like a few months before midterms, or when the President and/or Dems are trying to pass some very important legislation.
Yup – I could care less if Chris Hayes had come out tonight professing his undying love for President Obama. I don’t trust him as far as I can throw him – he’s shown us who he is. The fact that he brings on right wing loons and other emoprogs to “debate” President Obama’s actions… I’m done with him. As Maya Angelou has said, “when they show you who they are – believe them”. I don’t need to be kicked twice to know it hurts.
They’re not foolish enough to have the inaugural show filled with Obama-bashing or pushing Libertarian/GOP talking points. That will come once they think he’s got a lock on the ratings for that time slot. Mark my word.
/in the hoiti-est of British voice/ **I** was not amused! 😳
I watched that intently, LP, even replayed a part thinking that black actor never looked like PBO when I saw it last time, so what did they do, splice him in? No it still doesn’t look like him even though they moved that part by quickly. And why do those two keep looking at themselves and R2D2? What’s the point of this trailer? I’m not going to see THAT when you can’t even see the Prez! All of this viewing and muttering ongoing ALL before I saw Maryl’s comment! Humphffff! Didn’t ANY of you let LovelyP know that in my world April Fool’s tricks end at noon? I’ll borrow some of Malia’s gracious kindness THIS TIME and say ‘It’s okay, LovelyPlains, you didn’t know any better’ but ……
Thanks friend but the warning came too late. I have the bad habit most of the time of trying to see what’s offered (IN GOOD FAITH) before checking into the comments. I might have to rethink this approach. 😉
Good one, LP! 😀 I see Chips’ suspicious logic has rubbed off onto you. (That used to be her trade-mark way of dealing with my queries when she kept me waiting at the gate in days gone by.)
To be honest, I have not heard the noon thing before. After all, there are all those people whom you will not even see before noon. I have to say that I am THE most gullible person alive. In college, a guy I had just met showed up at my home over break. I was so surprised and asked how he had found my house. (I lived on a main street) He said he had started about 3 miles away and just knocked on every 7th door and the last one was mine. I was totally impressed and didn’t find out he had asked my friend until much later, embarrassingly much later.
Maryl, I like that story. Did you find out after you married him? 😛
‘After all, there are all those people whom you will not even see before noon’ – that’s the idea. You only have to be on guard until noon around those you will see. It worked beautifully for me, because then I was overly suspicious of everything and everyone until noon and then I could relax. Thus it was hard to ‘catch’ me.
Yes, LovelyPlains you got me. I didn’t realize it was an April Fool’s Day Joke until I saw the comments…….Lordy, Lordy. You’ve got me. I have been good today. I got fooled on TOD 😆 😆 😆 😎
Thank You. I laughed so hard and I am still laughing.
Oops again. I gave my response then wander a little further down to see you said virtually the same thing, Nena. Oh well, you were classier – you didn’t get ‘mad’.

Once bitten Twice shy 😉 I was taught.
I learned my lesson like GW Bush said: Fool me once , er, er, shame on you. Fool me, er, er, If you fool me, you just can’t get fooled again………..that sweet lady is where my class is 😆
Agree with all the comments on that thread, including Sara’s that this video ranks up there with Michael Lewis’ similarly long video (which UTAustin posted awhile ago).
Both Michael and Jon seemed so honest about what is apparent to anyone with two eyes and who can view President Obama outside the MSM filter. PBO’s integrity and authenticity.
Loved Favreau’s response to Gergen’s last question about PBO being remote and detached. Favreau laughed and said anyone who says that about PBO obviously DOES NOT KNOW the President. That PBO is warm and caring, which again, is obvious to any sighted person.

Arapaho, the only thing I ‘liked’ about the moderator (David Gergen of CNN fame) was the way Jon Favreau ‘played’ him just by telling the truth as he lived it for 8 years! Those of us who knew Gergen was a member of the ‘liberal media’ could hear his criticism, but Jon knocked it back every time and seemed to do it unconsciously. 😉 😉 Although, I must say there were a couple of times when Gergen had no choice but to acknowledge the President’s expertise.
AHHH……Basking in glory…..My devious mind came through in spades!!! Gonna eat now, waiting to see how many more poor unsuspecting souls fall for my nefarious ways.
Total weird comment from my off the charts farthest to the right of anyone brother just now. Wonders never cease! He actually said Obama is doing an amazing job considering what he is up against. My brother is a Ron Paul supporter that believes in a purist interpretation of the Constitution so you can see why I am floored right now.
WOW!!! kudos to your brother for admitting that PBO is doing the best he can – given the hate and obstruction. It takes a lot of character to recognize some positive traits in someone you routinely disagree with. Congrats to your brother
okay, I have to be honest here – Lovelyplains got me too (looked & waited for PBO to no avail).
I had to clear my eyes again after the black “skinny dude” played on my screen – saying to myself that though I am tired, there is NO way I could fail to identify PBO!
Can you just imagine what this video will mean to that little guy when he grows up. Think of being able to say that one of the greatest presidents ever comforted me when I was only five years old. And I loved the way he just nestled his head on PBO’s shoulder like it was safe and comfortable and the best place to be. Hope he has a bright future ahead of him.
I would totally nestle my head into PBO’s shoulder, given half a chance, because it IS safe, comfortable, and the best place to be. Michelle might have a word to say, though. On the third hand, I’m no competition for her, more in the granny generation, so maybe she’d be generous

Hi Pamela! Nice to hear you are having some fun in the midst of hobbling around. By the time you knee is all healed, the rest of you will be well-rested – I hope (Hint! Hint! No excessive trips for bird feeding of kitty walking).
Thanks LP. I admit I was fooled. I watched the whole video thinking that the President was going to be edited in, and read the caption again as if that would clear it up. Than I saw Mary’s comment! 😆
Surprisingly, the strike was not the fault of a programming error. The DSS monitors more than 10,000 specific threat characteristics to determine if an immediate response is necessary. If the system deems that the threat is imminent and that immediate action is vital to protect the nation, it will preemptively launch a strike. “DSS worked the way it was supposed to”, states Chief Engineer Chip Boolean. “Fox hit over 90% of the key threat characteristics created by the Department of Defense.”
…
Reports also state that DSS has scheduled drone strikes at the estates of conservative pundits Glenn Beck, Sean Hannity, Rush Limbaugh and Ann Coulter over the course of the next few days. There has been no indication from the White House as to whether those attacks have been cancelled.
Yes, but my tyrantness has been beautifully diluted since some other tyrants arrived on board – *cough, cough* – so I’m now as menacing as, dunno, say:
Well, Jacqueline ….. I always hated it too, but then I looked at it again and decided I wanted to marry Christopher Plummer, so I’ve always had confused feelings about it 😕
Well, okay, I’ll give ya Christopher Plummer, ’cause he turned out pretty good. (Almost forgot he was in Sound, so busy thinking about how I didn’t want to hear those songs again in my life!) Sorry, Christopher! 🙂
‘then I looked at it again and decided I wanted to marry Christopher Plummer,’
Chips, just between you and me, how many men have you decided you want to marry/proposed to? I can count at least four in the past couple of years. What happens should they all come to their senses at the same time and decide they can’t live without you?
We had a ‘summer sounds’ series at my church last summer, and one event was a Sound of Music song-along. I was supposed to stage manage and I almost broke out in a rash when I heard that. Luckily I was out of town that week 😉
My Grandmother used to tell me when I was growing up, that Jackie Robinson was the best Athlete to ever play Baseball. ( she saw him play the Red sox at Fenway)
That movie 42 looks good. 🙂
“84,000 gallons of oil leaked nto the Central Arkansas town of Mayflower in Friday, spilling into neighborhoods. Treehugger reports, Arkansas Senator Mark Pryor was one of one the seventeen Democrats that joined all the Republican Senators in voting for symbolic approval of the Keystone XL pipeline. Pryor has claimed the pipeline will help create jobs in Arkansas, where some of the pipe is manufactured, however as Bloomberg reported recently, the project will only create 20 full time jobs, not the thousands that Pryor, TransCanada and other supporters like to talk about… 40 homes had to be evacuated due to health hazards from crude oil fumes and to avoid stray sparks from igniting the standing oil. Emergency management is on the scene evaluating the situation, but this should be a heads up for our politicians. Of course, it won’t be. Meanwhile, Republicans are all about fewer regulations. Drill baby drill.”
I hope that HE DOESN”T approve this mess! Twice in one week, we get stuff like this. The “tons of jobs” is a flat out farce. The US gets NO BENEFIT from this toxic sludge, running through aquafirs, we can already see the effects of leaks….on the neighborhoods, the land, the water, the wildlife…on and on and on….and the oil gets sold on the open market. We harbor ALL THE RISK, and NO BENEFITS. It’s a sucky deal. A big sucky deal! I hope that these accidents this week…makes him absolutely certain that he’ll say NO!
Just don’t be surprised if he does. We also have another problem. Dependent on middle east oil.
That’s why all of the above approach, including that dirty oil.
Unfortunately, the senate voted 62-37 non binding resolution last week. So, the Vast majority of states approve.
Then again, he will make sure it’s safe. 🙂

Congrats Mary! #1………hehe
You had me going with the post title, LP!

Congrats Maryl1 🙂
Thanks! I guess I’m a lucky April Fool tonight 😉

Powerful, in_deed, Maryl!!
Yes We Can
Thanks for tweeting that, Bob. My twitter is all messed up at the moment.
WOW it is an amazing video of PBO! Glad I watched it – I would have never discovered this gem 🙂
The 135th Easter Egg Roll was a major success!
Yes indeed. And oh by the way I’m not watching Chris Hayes tonight. Don’t want to spoil my otherwise beautiful day.
Good idea. i tried to listen but I feel like he talks too intensely- like he’s constipated!
Ha! That about describes Chris, vitaminlover!
I didn’t watch C. Hayes either.
Congrats Mary!! Thank you LP!!!

LOL!!! I was trying to figure out how I could pull something off……all the videos say Rick Roll in the title….had to get sneaky!!!
I used to laugh at people who got Rick-rolled …… 😳
Happy April Fools, LP!!!
Figured we all could use a good laugh!! Other thread was getting long and I figured strike while the iron is hot…..

Thanks friend but the warning came too late. I have the bad habit most of the time of trying to see what’s offered (IN GOOD FAITH) before checking into the comments. I might have to rethink this approach. 😉
It’s that ‘good faith’ thing that’ll get you on April 1st, vc. On that day, TRUST NO ONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
😆 😆 Okay, will try to remember! 😀
[Just as a matter of reference, doesn’t pranking generally stop at noon for you guys?]
VC, I believe its noonish in Hawaii….?
Good one, LP! 😀 I see Chips’ suspicious logic has rubbed off onto you. (That used to be her trade-mark way of dealing with my queries when she kept me waiting at the gate in days gone by.)
To be honest, I have not heard the noon thing before. After all, there are all those people whom you will not even see before noon. I have to say that I am THE most gullible person alive. That was brilliant, LovelyPlains! I was totally fooled because I kept expecting to see his face mainly because I had forgotten what today was.
Nathkatun7, I waited right til the end, expecting him to appear after Rick……. 😳
I did exactly the same, Chipsticks! Now that I know that I was in good company I don’t feel so bad.
Phew, I’m relieved Nathkatun7, I’m in rather fine company too!!!!
I watched it twice looking for the POTUS.
I fell for it also. Forgot that it could be an April Fool’s joke. 🙂

Love it!
Hahahahahahaha….
Lovely Plains, you’re forgiven for “punking” us because you did post that amazing hour + interview with Jon Favreau on Saturday.
All is forgiven.
http://theobamadiary.com/2013/03/30/chat-away-speechwriter-edition/
Thanks so much for posting that, again – I never did listen to the full interview and I will try to do that tonight!
Oh you have to JO’B, it’s a real treat! I’ve watched it twice already and want to figure out how to share it in segments. You can skip the first 3 minutes and nothing of interest will be lost. John starts at about 3:40
Thanks!
Yes, VCPrez, the moderator was so annoying when he couldn’t bring himself to mention President Obama’s name.
I’m actually sad to see this hosted at Harvard. Most questioners seemed very “ivory tower elite.”
Hope that Favreau appears at a public university (wasn’t Michael Lewis at UCBerkeley?) next time, and with David Plouffe.
Gergen is a blubbering ijut!
well done LP!! That is the first time I was fooled today 🙂 I LOVE April Fool’s day!

you done good, I just forwarded this to my son- in hopes of getting him too 😉 so extra thanks for that LP !

thanks a lot Ms Chips for locating this video! I was hoping you would do your best to get this special moment – the ultimate gem in consolation
He’s a sweetie, Linda! Hopefully there’ll be better videos soon.

Where were the kids parents?
Can you imagine Mitt Romney or Paul Ryan showing that kid compassion like that?
Oooooooh, what a horrible thought Anniebella! Can you imagine? Ugh….. no, don’t want to think about it!
No Anniebella, Romney and Ryan would be the cause of the tears, not the comforter. Ryan’s face alone would be enough to give any child nightmares.
Indeed.
soooo niceeeeee….Our President is so compassionate

http://www.freewoodpost.com/2013/03/28/white-house-accidentally-orders-drone-strike-on-fox-news-headquarters/
LMAO.
Chip Boolean! 🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂
If only it were our chips in charge ….
I can’t imagine the mayhem.
Oi, I saw that.
A tyrant is what a tyrant does.
Yes, but my tyrantness has been beautifully diluted since some other tyrants arrived on board – *cough, cough* – so I’m now as menacing as, dunno, say:
Love you, Chips, but – call me crazy – cannot stand The Sound of Music!
😆 I should add, Jacqueline, that my love for Christopher was a little weakened by the fact that he loved Julie Andrews. I mean, really?
Oh. Eek. I don’t think it was the voice. (Some die-hard fans are gonna come after me – I’d better stop there, eh?)
‘then I looked at it again and decided I wanted to marry Christopher Plummer,’
Chips, just between you and me, how many men have you decided you want to marry/proposed to? I can count at least four in the past couple of years. What happens should they all come to their senses at the same time and decide they can’t live without you?
I am with you all the way on that one. I OD’d on it a looooong time ago.
Yes, maryl1 – And, in my case, my dear mother’s fascination with it, year after year, kinda did me in!
We had a ‘summer sounds’ series at my church last summer, and one event was a Sound of Music song-along. I was supposed to stage manage and I almost broke out in a rash when I heard that. Luckily I was out of town that week 😉
Funniest story I’ve heard tonight! Glad you didn’t have to break out in that rash!
🙂
I know. ut, lp & LL… tsk, tsk, tsk.
#smh
I’m struggling to remember too: The Three Musketeers and some scallywag. Who could it be now?
I will have you know that scallywags >>musketeers>>tyrants in

It’s all far right Tea bagger out of the mainstream stuff. He is on CNN so the T Baggers will not watch him. Its a catch 22.
My Grandmother used to tell me when I was growing up, that Jackie Robinson was the best Athlete to ever play Baseball. ( she saw him play the Red sox at Fenway)
That movie 42 looks good. 🙂
I’m sure Jackie Robinson was the best.
Exxon Pipeline Breaks in Arkansas
About this video (from the upload description:

Unfortunately, I would be surprised if the President disapproves it. 😦
He better hurry up, so people can digest it before the elections.
I saw on video where the guy said that this crud was pour into the storm drains….not good. Not good at all.
The kid’s kitchen video of Al Roker and chef Anne Burrell where FLOTUS stop by is so funny. FLOTUS and Al is trying to sing.
It look like a good time was had by everyone today at the Easter Egg Roll. Oh by the way I am still looking for the April Vogue issue.
