A Whole Bunch of Thank Yous

So, I wake up this morning and there’s a perfect post from Lovely Plains (@DaRiverZkind) ….. and then I come back after a bit and there’s another perfect one from Amk (@amk4obama), despite him being Amk …… and after that Liberal Librarian (@Lib_Librarian) pops up with his usual dollop of brilliance, despite him being a Chelsea supporter.

And then I check my email and there are a bunch more people saying ‘I’m ready to go!’

So, I’m thinking: you people – yes, YOU people! – are ridiculously lovely. And wonderful. And gorgeous. And magnificent. And ….  okay, okay, I’ll stop.

I’m not going to gush here, and publicly embarrass people, and get all mushy about what blissful human beings you are, and….

But you are all BLISSFUL human beings!

Lovely Plains, Amk and Liberal Librarian – thank you so much for today.

I’ll be back, in, eh, full swing, on Sunday morning – and the timing has absolutely NOTHING to do with it being St Patrick’s Day and all that tacky, silly, stupid nonsense that you will never, ever, see here

(Some day, when I’ve recovered, I will tell you about my ordeal with this song on the 2009 Inauguration Day)

Until then, I’ll be asking our awesome noobies to do their very wonderful thing.

Love ya.

    Good Evening TOD,

If there is one thing that makes my day is to listen a replay of the 47 cents tape. Just a snippet of it.

I wish someone will make a movie of the 2012 campaign the same way we had GAME CHANGE.

    March 13, 2013 at 10:30 pm

A blonde desperately needed some money, so she decided to kidnap someone. So she went to the park and she grabbed this kid.

Then she wrote a note saying, “If you ever want to see your child again, leave 10,000 dollars in a paper bag in the northwest corner of the park.” then she signed it ‘THE BLONDE’ and told the kid to give it to his mom.

The next day she went to the northwest corner of the park and got the paper bag. It had the money in it and a note from the mother that said, “How could you do this to another blonde?”

    And I am outta here.

Romney didn’t just get beat by a bartender with a cell phone. It played a big part, but it was not the only reason President Obama won. Alot of people got out there and work their butts off, including the President and the volunteers, the voters who stood in long lines for hours upon hours, so a big thanks to the gentlemen who tape the 47% tape, but this victory in 2012 was a team effort from the top to the bottom.

Anniebella, I agree, we won because President Obama was an inspirational candidate and extraordinary leader, and TeamObama (paid and volunteer) worked their azz off; however, I can still find humor in the tweet. In my mind, I hear MizAnne — once she got to the anger stage, spitting this at Mittbott. That has me ROFLMAO!

        March 14, 2013 at 12:16 am

I agree, anniebella. Yes, the video helped but regular, everyday people helped. Also David Axelrod made a similar comment to yours. After the Democratic Convention President Obama went continuously up. I do like his humility and do appreciate his making and putting out the video though.

      • March 14, 2013 at 12:52 am

Yes, Anniebella! And we still have to keep working for OFA to get the right legislation passed.

Mark Knoller loves to count shat about the President comparing him unfavorably to other presidents, but this is one very major piece of info with numbers that he will NEVER report.

  34. March 13, 2013 at 11:12 pm

Chips, I hope you are glowing with pride. Today is a testament to the spectacular community you have created. Mark Knoller (aka Count von Count) can’t help himself. He’s obsessed with counting things relating to President Obama. Michael Grunwald on the other hand is amazing. His tweets are informative and insightful. Meanwhile, the jackals are focused on interrogating Jay Carney about exactly who decided to cancel the White House tours. Forget about why the cancellation of WH tours was necessary in the first place. Sadly, their memory does not go back that far. It’s like John McCain and the surge. Nothing happened before the surge of any consequence.

And they ignore all the federal workers taking a 10% pay cut, no raises for years, and the fallout in all the communities buoyed by these employees spending money in the local economy.

    • 101 hopefruit2
      March 13, 2013 at 11:40 pm

Knoller counts the President’s numbers only when he thinks it will make PBO look bad, or render him vulnerable to criticism in some way. When it comes to unambiguously good numbers for PBO, Knoller is no where to be seen.

    A late nite chuckle before I turn-in.

At a wine merchant’s warehouse the regular taster died, and the director started looking for a new one to hire. A retired Navy fighter pilot drunk and with a ragged dirty look came to apply for the position. The director wondered how to send him away.
They gave him a glass to drink. The old pilot tried it and said, “It’s a Muscat three years old, grown on a north slope, matured in steel containers. Low grade but acceptable.”
“That’s correct”, said the boss. “Another glass, please.” “It’s a cabernet, eight years old, south-western slope, oak barrels, matured at eight degrees. Requires three more years for finest results.”
“Absolutely correct. A third glass.” ”It’s a pinot blanc champagne, high grade and exclusive” calmly said the drunk.
The director was astonished and winked at his secretary to suggest something. She left the room and came back in with a glass of urine.
The alcoholic tried it. “It’s a blonde, 26 years old, three months pregnant, and if I don’t get the job, I’ll name the father.”

    About Scott Poutry…

Saying that the guy changed the trajectory of the 2012 elections is giving him too much credit.

I still believe Obama would have won. However, what the tape did was to confirm for some gullibles that Mitt Romney was a two-face guy, no friend of the Middle Class which he actually despises. That tape proved that all along Obama was a better candidate, a man who said what he believes and not one who has two speeches, one for the campaign and one for the 1% behind closed doors.

The tape reinforced what was transparent throughout the Mittster’s campaign, a man who has no political conviction, who goes with the wind litteraly, and who in fact has no empathy for average American. A man who ddidn’t care for the many stupid voters that put GOP wakos in elected offices year in year out.

The fact that this guy held his identity and didn’t seek the limelight says a lot about him. I could petition that he gets a place on Mount Rushmore (wrong spelling probably). He is a man of substance, not a lightweight head like that Wasilla star who was John McLoss’s VP.

I hope someone makes a movie of the Mittster campaign

    • 112 99ts
      March 14, 2013 at 4:21 am

The film stopped the media from ranting so much about the wonders of Romney – the lies of Romney and his true view of the people of America were outed by this video. No matter what President Obama or his campaign said – it was a blessing to see Romney’s own words. I think Scott did a true service to his country & exposed the media – as much as Romney – for what they were doing

Thank you so much, 4morefor44, for sharing this article! It’s indeed a must read! I’ve book marked it and intend to share it with the “holier than thou” leftists I know who are constantly bashing President Obama. Many of them are not lawyers, but they are absolutely convinced that they know the laws better than the President, Vice President, Secretary of State, and the Attorney General, all of whom are lawyers. Their convictions of these leftist bashers of President Obama are based on what they’ve read from leftists blogs, but especially from the writings of Glenn Greenwald.

President Obama: I’m no Dick Cheney on drones

President Barack Obama’s defense to Democratic senators complaining about how little his administration has told Congress about the legal justifications for his drone policy: Dick Cheney was worse…He also tried to assure his former colleagues that his administration is more open to oversight than that of President George W. Bush, whom many Democratic senators attacked for secrecy and for expanding executive power in the national security realm.

“This is not Dick Cheney we’re talking about here,” he said, according to Democratic senators who asked not to be named discussing the private meeting.

“Like NRA who scares the Bejesus out of elected officials when we talk gun control, rich do same with loop holes”

…What we the people are looking for is a deal on immigration reform and gun control. And jobs.

But do you know what we need even more? An overhaul to the tax system. We want a fair and efficient system — with more revenue for the Dems and less government for the Repubs. And you want to know how easy that is to accomplish? Very.

Don’t let the liars in Washington fool you. Or the shortsighted news readers on the TV and radio. Overhaul is as simple as a stroke of the pen.
How? Simply slash the outrageous tax breaks for the super rich. Before you tune me out, just consider this:

No more yacht write-offs (how many people do you know that have a yacht? You pay taxes to cover their write-off).

No more private jet write-offs (again, how many people do you know that have private jets? You’re paying for their write off with your taxes).
No more corporate off shore stashing of profits to avoid taxes (you have to pay taxes, why shouldn’t they?).

No more subsidies to oil companies thus giving them billions in profits with unfair write-offs like off-shore banking. (You’re paying for it with your taxes).

No more tax breaks to companies for outsourcing jobs. (Yes, we give a break if a company hires workers in a foreign land as opposed to a legal worker here in the states.)

No more giving free money to banks (too large to fail or jail) thus giving them even larger corporate writeoffs for managing the money they’ve been loaned).

What’s holding us back are loopholes that should never have been in existence in the first place. Their purpose has long since retired — along with the crooks who wrote them into the tax codes.

And just like the NRA who scares the Bejesus out of our elected officials when we talk any sort of gun control, the rich do the same if you threaten their loop holes.

Politicians think only the rich put money into their campaigns so the poor and middle class don’t matter. Ask Karl Rove how that went. Our vote is what they need even more than money. And our vote counts just as much as the millionaires’ or business tycoons’.
