I agree 100%, if your business can’t afford to pay a living wage, then you shouldn’t be in business. Evey time I go to the grocery store or go out to eat, or shop, or buy gas, ain’t nothing getting cheaper. John Boehner uses that same old line the Republicans use over and over again, if you raise wages you will lose jobs, but excuse me when have Boehner gave a dam about someone job beside his. He haven’t pass a bill to help any American fine a job.

Of my many hobbies/careers I teach quilting part time and used to work in different quilt shops. One owner HATED paying her people, although she was absent from the store quite often and depended on all of us to sell her products and care as if we were the owners.

The other owner understood that her success would depend on how she valued her workers and without them she couldn’t have a viable business.

Guess which owner I preferred working for?

During President Obama’s Palm Beach vacation this weekend, he’ll be getting some golf lessons from Tiger Woods’ former instructor at the Floridian Golf Club in Palm City, Golf Digest reports:

The Harmons, Butch and son Claude III, are flying in to work with President Obama, who inquired through an aide if they would be on property during his stay

“I’ve played golf with Ike, Nixon, Ford and President Bush 41,” Harmon said from his golf school in Henderson, Nev. “I never played with President Clinton. I met him in the Oval Office. It’ll be interesting. I know the President is a real keen golfer. I’m looking forward to it. It should be fun.”

The President’s host, club owner Jim Crane, also owns the Houston Astros. He received a call last week playing the AT&T National Pro-Am about the President’s interest in his facility.

Now the media will have a field day with the “Tiger woods former instructor” thing…. Mark Knoller’s balls to explode in 3…2..1.. (note I didn’t say head, because his head has already exploded and turned into cold mush).

Good thing my President doesn’t give a hoot. Play Mr. President, play 🙂

Stephen Colbert is hilarious. He’s taken the ridiculous Harlem Shake (NOT the real Harlem Shake) viral videos and put his Colbert Nation spin on them.

I am telling you all right now, the Country is going to be pissed at the GOP for trying to blow up the federal Government.

2014 is going to be so important, that’s why keep in touch with OFA offices. Not sure how many are still open, but…

I’ve been in touch with the group I worked with in 2012. They have get togethers for events like the Inauguration or the SOTU, and they regularly get 30-40 people attending. And they’re all anxious to keep working for the agenda.

Dem’s have to start voting in EVERY election. That is how Repubs got what they wanted – they voted. All the time, every time. The only reason we’re in this mess is because Dem’s have to be ‘in love’ in order to do their duty and move the ball down the progressive field.

First lady Michelle Obama may be hitting the slopes this weekend in the Aspen area — leaving her husband to hang out alone with friends in Palm Beach.

The Aspen Daily News reports that Obama is spending the President’s Day weekend in the area. No word on whether the Obama daughters will join her or further details about what she plans to do.

An aide did not immediately respond to a message from POLITICO seeking more information.

Vice President Joe Biden and his family will also be in the Aspen area, staying in Snowmass, Colo., the White House said.

President Obama will be spending the weekend with friends in Palm Beach — no doubt playing some golf.
