As some of us speculated, the White House was able to document young Collin Romesha (son of the Medal of Honor winner Sergent Clint) running around the Oval Office and most importantly as was reported by PBO “sampling the apples —- until he found one which was just right” I love these clips of West Wing Week

the kid who is featured at the very top of the West Wing Week video has such an intense look as she watches and listens to the President. She seems to understand the magnitude of her moment to be talking one on one with PBO

good or bad ? with his lame support for 1% during the critical phase of defining mittbot, I am not too happy.

I always thought it unlikely that an 89 year old would sign up for another 6 years. I do wonder if they don’t have a family – I’m finding life after work a delight! I wonder if someone at 89 can truly do the job required of a senator.

I think Cory will do fine – Like most of his race, he will have to prove he is twice as good, to achieve his goals. He probably needs to study up on Elizabeth Warren, Hillary Clinton and PBO (as a senator). He can learn much from the best of his party – especially in relation to when NOT to open mouth.

I just fine it amazing how Senators and Congressmen can be around forever, but President can only serve two term.

    • February 15, 2013 at 8:03 am

I give him the side eye but I will give him a chance to show and prove. I didn’t like the way he handled himself during critical part of campaign. Never will forget that but Dems want to give him a shot. A lot more of that shine will come off during the Senate race though. His core supporters are going to have a hard time.

I agree. A “wait and see”. He has a lot going for him but he was a jackass at times during the campaign.

That being said, Lautenberg is 89. I don’t know how NJ does things, but do we want Christie appointing a Senator?

I can’t quite get into him, AMK. I’ve tried, but something always niggles my mind. So court’s in recess for him.

Congrats for daughter unit’s fab accomplishments. Wishing her all the very best!

Yes, there’s something about Booker that doesn’t sit well with me. What exactly will he do as Senator – rescue trapped animals on the frozen Potomac river? Go on MTP every Sunday reinforcing talking points that benefit the 1%? Tweeting preachy & holier-than-thou quotes about every damn topic under the sun? How much time will he spend actually getting things done, rather than tweeting and/or posturing for the cameras at every opportunity?

      February 15, 2013 at 10:45 am

so much negativity toward Booker..yeah he made an error…and he was chastened for it…but there were many folks who thought the bain capital approach was wrong at the time (clinton to name one)…and for some perhaps this has left a bad taste in their mouth for Corey Booker…
there was a comment made on Morning Joe by Politico that Corey Booker will not have the benefit of Sen Laudenberg’s machine…i wonder as i often do about these so-called “machines” if the model of PBOs grassroots machine has put a new face on how to win elections…when PBO decided to run for President..there all kinds of naysayers who said that he had not been around long enough…he went outside the old ways of doing things…created his own network..his own way…it remains to be seen how much Corey Booker has learned…and who will be in his corner…

    About damn time! http://news.yahoo.com/switzerland-u-sign-pact-fighting-tax-evasion-020645980–sector.html

WASHINGTON (Reuters) – Advancing a U.S. crackdown on tax evasion by Americans, the U.S. Treasury Department said on Thursday that Switzerland and the United States have signed a pact to make Swiss banks disclose information about U.S. account-holders.

The agreement is the latest in a series between the United States and other countries designed to carry out the Foreign Account Tax Compliance Act, or FATCA, enacted in 2010.

The Swiss deal is the first of its kind and differs in key ways from previous pacts. It requires Swiss banks to sign up directly with the U.S. Internal Revenue Service, while giving the banks a way to avoid violating Swiss financial secrecy laws.

FATCA requires foreign financial institutions to tell the U.S. Internal Revenue Service about Americans’ offshore accounts worth more than $50,000. FATCA was enacted after a Swiss banking scandal showed U.S. taxpayers hid millions of dollars overseas.

    Morning:))

How come in the movies, the meteors are always headed for the United States and one brave hero is able to figure out a way to block the thing?

That said – I hope all those injured weren’t seriously injured. Very scary.

Except Conan there was one big difference this time, usually when the rich white guy give the Hispanic a job they don’t want to do that Hispanic does a good job, this time Tuesday night the Hispanic did a lousy job.
