Our President must be so buoyed by all the ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ that are open to him. I’d bet they help to cancel out the hateful karma emitted by emotionally bankrupt GOPs

I’m alright, thank you Nena, except for some disgruntlement at Windows Explorer technical department. I trust you are enjoying Feb. 14 and all the resultant hoopla? This is one of those dates I rarely remember unless someone mentions it.

            Morning Chica! Is that an offer to get me a Mac for my birthday? Thanks! ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ You can be such a sweetheart! The fact you have a month and a bit to make a fitting choice leaves me feeling quite ecstatic, and quite optimistic that my problems will soon be o’er. {{CC}}

What edition do you have? I have Vista, which means they will not support or update anything until I buy Window 8 or a new computer. It’s a bummer. Are you using a laptop?

I am on my laptop and I have Windows 7, I think. Problem is they keep phoning me which is awfully irritating. I’ll tell you guys about it later; they annoyed me so much this morning that right now I’m trying not to think about it just so as to clear my head. Later….

I have to say, I live here in Decatur Georgia and I couldn’t be more thrilled that Obama is technically around the corner from me. I am also pissed an embarrassed that no high official greeted him at the airport. Sometimes I hate this racist state!!

    Spanish Oysters

A big Texan stopped at a local restaurant following a day roaming around in Spain …

While sipping his wine, he noticed a sizzling, scrumptious looking platter being served at the next table. Not only did it look good, the smell was wonderful.

He asked the waiter, ‘What is that you just served?’

The waiter replied, ‘Si senor, you have excellent taste!
Those are called Cojones de Toro, bull’s testicles from the bull fight this morning.A delicacy!’

The cowboy said, ‘What the heck, bring me an order.’

The waiter replied, ‘I am so sorry senor. There is only one serving per day because there is only one bull fight each morning. If you come early and place your order,we will be sure to save you this delicacy.’

The next morning, the cowboy returned, placed his order, and that evening was served the one and only special delicacy of the day. After a few bites, inspecting his platter, he called to the waiter and said, ‘These are delicious, but they are much, much smaller than the ones I saw you serve yesterday.’

The waiter shrugged his shoulders and replied, ‘Si, Senor.
    Sometimes the bull wins.’

I was just lurking over at GOPolitico and on board AF1 on way to Decatur, GA this morning, a white house reporter asked Deputy Communications guy Earnest if PBO should be taking the weekend off visiting friends in Palm Beach, FL this weekend with the sequester debacle going on. Anybody else heard PBO was spending the weekend in Florida? Of course, the jackals think he should never get a break! But never mention the House critters left town for 10 days starting this past Wednesday. Jerks!

    • February 14, 2013 at 12:34 pm

Hiya LB, yep, he’ll be in Florida from Friday to Monday, apparently – I just wish he’d take a week, he deserves it.

Thanks Chips! First I had heard and I live in Florida, Gulf Coast side. I too think he deserves more than just a weekend. Maybe he is bringing a case of Polar Spring water for Rubio to enjoy!!!!!! 🙂

Why don’t that idiot go as John Boehner and the Republicans the same question. I guess POTUS can stay in D.C. and work out something all by himself., while the Republicans are gone. These reporters are so darn stupid at times.

Let’s see what Knoller have to say about the sequestered spending cuts not going on vacation with John Boehner and the House. Pelosi wanted them to stay in D.C. and work.

PBO is ready to sign an executive order that women aren’t allowed to date until age 35. That would solve a lot of his problems in that area. By the time Malia is 35, he will be past 70 yrs old and looking forward to peaceful retirement and some grandbabies.

Hay I saw on the local news that POTUS got some bar-be-que yesterday when he was in Asheville. There was some people who had gather outside the place waiting to see him, but they were at the wrong place. bet it was good, with that coleslaw, hush puppies, ice tea. How is Georgia Bar-be-que? Not as good as North Carolina.

I thought this was key too—–this is why many in the rt. wing religious conservative community are always criticizing public education and college. They don’t want their kids to learn to think critically. They don’t want their kids to think. I think President Obama was making clear that our country is dependent on an educated public so that we don’t have so many people willing to believe dumb stuff, to be vulnerable to the manipulated message of the tea party types, to swallow blindly the propaganda of FOXNews.

Hagel fought and bled for this nation….why is it so easily believed by these wicked idiots that he would ever betray a nation that he gave his BLOOD for and put his life on the line for??

These people are EVIL as far as I am concerned. They are beyond despicable.

“These people are EVIL as far as I am concerned. They are beyond despicable.”

Nena, I agree with you 100%! The way some of these chicken hawks are treating Sen. Hagel, a decorated combat soldier, makes me ill. Again the MSM are totally AWOL. Instead of calling out these evil people for the way they are maligning a decent man, all they are interested in is looking for sensational stories.

President Obama so upbeat and cheery today. And I especially like the bright blue tie.

The Hagel delay is starting to worry me. Just praying that Hagel can hang on and get through.
The longer this goes on the more convinced I am that the real underlying problem is his enlisted rather than officer background.

As the day progresses it is getting more and more dire. Aides are saying that they do not have the 60 votes. Republicans are actually filibustering a sane, but conservative Republican. It boggles the mind.

    • 119 Nena20409
      February 14, 2013 at 2:19 pm

Hagel is a fighter. He fought for this nation, without ever being asked. So long as he hangs on, this president will be at his corner. What TBGOPers in DC are doing is beyond madness. Every rule in the senate has just about been breached so that TBGOPers can have their ways. It is sad that Boxer, Feinstein, Levin, and 5 others went along with John McCain on the No for talking Filibuster. Once again, TBGOPers lost the election, but they have for the last 4 yrs been using weak Dems to control the senate. Nothing stops Joe Biden to go to the senate and call for point of order and challenge what is currently happening. But it will never happen. Dems are not like TBGOPers when the need to Let Rules be darned are needed.

Dems lack 60 votes in Senate to confirm Hagel as Defense secretary

By Jeremy Herb and Ramsey Cox
Senate Democrats will not have enough votes by Friday to confirm former Sen. Chuck Hagel as Defense secretary.

    Well, that’s that!

    • 122 jacquelineoboomer
      February 14, 2013 at 2:30 pm

Don’t know if it’s true, but CNN said earlier that they’ve heard of a deal in the Senate. Reid will delay the vote, if this is true, until after their recess, giving Chuck Hagel time to satisfy more requirements of the Rethugs for missing documents and other made-up things, then the Repukes will “promise” not to filibuster. Or maybe not, because you sure can’t trust any reporting out of CNN.

Have any information been release about POTUS speech in Chicago tomorrow, like the time and place.

    • February 14, 2013 at 2:21 pm

      Posted it yesterday Anniebella:

President Barack Obama will speak at the Hyde Park Academy on Friday, returning home to push his second-term economic agenda and curbs on gun violence just a few blocks from his Kenwood home–and not far from where 15-year-old Hadiya Pendleton was gunned down on Jan. 29.

Obama makes the afternoon trip at the school, 6220 S. Stony Island Ave., as the last of a three-city swing to bolster the plans he discussed in his Tuesday night State of the Union Address. Today Obama is in Asheville, N.C. and tomorrow he is in the Atlanta area.
