Given the hearing today – the senators talked and the nominee listened – smart move by then Sen Obama to not stay too long in the senate – he would have learned some bad habits.
Listening is not one of their qualities, 99ts – although, at times, I can’t think of any qualities any of them possess. Well, most of them.
Former Russian president Medvedev was asked a few years back about the difference between GWB and PBO, and he said that a major difference is that PBO is a good listener. Whoever the idjit was who said that president does most of the talking in meetings, pulled that lie from his ass, just like most of the other “journalists” who stand on the outside and make sh*t up about this president.
Can’t remember who, but they were talking about Biden learning to listen because of his long time in the Senate compared to the short time Pres. Obama spent there.

I have stopped watching MSNBC in the evenings. After I watch Bashir, skip Tweety, and watch Rev. Al, I’m pretty much finished. I’ll watch Lawrence sometimes, if he’s not on one of his soapboxes. I can’t stand to listen to them pontificate on issues they have no inside info about. It’s all pure conjecture. I wouldn’t want PBO’s job, and they wouldn’t either it they were given the opportunity to do it. It’s quite easy to sit on a sound stage and say what you would/would not do, but it’s entirely different being in a position where you HAVE to make serious decisions that impact the lives of millions. IMO, Al Awlaki was no three year old kid, and he wasn’t mentally ill. He made an informed decision to declare war on his own government. The Yemeni government had already tried him in absentia for being a member of al Qaeda and for trying to kill foreigners. A Yemeni judge had issued an alive or dead order for him. He had to know that his decision could have caused him to lose his life. I truly believe that some who are objecting to the use of drones to kill Americans like Al Awlaki are not being honest about who/what he was and how much of a potential threat he was to the U.S.

It is not a complicated ‘policy’ issue. If you denounce your US citizenship and then in any way actively participate in Acts of War against the United States of America, you are an enemy warrior. That’s what al-Awalki willfully decided to do and then DID. Only law governing his treatment are the four treaties and three protocols that comprise the Geneva Conventions. Using mechanisms that ensure high reliability of an intended target and that minimizes collateral damage and keeps our troops out of harms way is the best way to deal with an enemy warrior like al-Awlaki.

What I love about this picture is that a little over six years ago, President Obama was the junior Senator from Illinois, and the two men now advising (and working for) him had 25 more years of experience in the Senate. And nine years ago, President Obama was a state Senator being given an opportunity of a lifetime to give the Keynote speech of the man now sitting in front of him. And a little bit before that, then state Senator Obama couldn’t even get into the DNC Convention. And back then, no-one in that room in the picture had a clue that they’d be where they are today.

One of the arguments used in ’08 against PBO was that he had little experience since he was not in the US Senate for very long. My argument against that at the time was it does not take many years of doing the same job over and over again to get experience. PBO is a quick study. He also had been in a state Senate for 7+ years, wags an author, taught Constitutional law, worked in a law firm and was a community organizer. Those varied jobs served him well as qualifications for POTUS.

Findus beef lasagne contained up to 100% horsemeat, FSA says
The meat of some beef lasagne products recalled by Findus earlier this week was 100% horsemeat, the Food Standards Agency (FSA) has said.
On Monday Findus withdrew from retailers its beef lasagne in 320g, 360g and 500g sizes as a precaution.
Environment Secretary Owen Paterson said the findings were “completely unacceptable”, but Findus said it did not believe it was a food safety issue.

There is this guy that walked down the street one day when he saw a dusty lamp laying on the road. Interested, because he loved antiques, he picked up the lamp and rubbed the dust off. Immediately after, a genie pops out.
The genie states, “Thank you so much for freeing me from my eternal punishment, I will grant you one wish!”
The guy is flabbergasted, and he takes this offer on.
He states, “Well, I have always wanted a private bridge from my house to Bermuda.”
The genie states, “No, no, not possible, imagine all of the funds and supplies that would take, not, not possible at all, you selfish prick.”
He states, “well, I have always had trouble with women an-”
