Way to go hope fruit! You are officially number 1.
Thanks nathkatun!
Congrats hope fruit. 🙂
The puppy bowl!
Oh…..snap! Look at Pres. Obama at UT Austin. Wooooohooooooooooo! He’s a longhorn at heart. Hook ‘Em!
Congrats hopefruit! Who is your pick for the Super Bowl? Are having a party or going to one? First one I saw was the Jets meeting the Colts. Joe Namath looked good in panty hose! 🏈 Good luck to those who have a favorite team in the game.
Ravens
Neither
🙂
🙂
Congrats on being Numero Uno, HF 😎
Thanks Nena!
I don’t care who wins the game…no one I root for is playing…let’s just hope for a good game….and no concussions…..
And this: http://www.latimes.com/features/image/alltherage/la-ar-lancome-jason-wu-cosmetics-20130201,0,3733063.story
Jason Wu X Lancome: Fresh off his repeat performance as inaugural ball gown designer in chief, Jason Wu has struck a deal with the Lancome cosmetics brand to collaborate on a line of makeup. Friday morning’s announcement by Lancome Paris provided little information about the limited-edition Jason Wu for Lancome collection — except that it is slated to hit stores in September 2013.
May not be able to afford his beautiful gowns, but makeup might be in order:)
Lancôme is great make-up. 😉
Yup. Got to get my GWP next week. YAY!
George W Push? What?
Gift With Purchase silly…. I’m revoking your GirlCard™.
Like I didn’t know that?? 😳
Please don’t revoke me???
That’s okay babe – I used to be a Cosmetics Whore for $$. I started slow and innocently enough, working for Estée Lauder, then found myself as a Counter Manager for Borghese, then was a makeup artist for Dior…. back when I could hand people, and standing in heels for 8 hours a day. 🙂
fuck… HANDLE people.
🙂
This is why that old freaking looking designer Lagerfeld were putting down the First Lady’s bangs, because he knew that any designer this First Lady choose to wear bring big business to that designer. And the First Lady have used her great style sense and refuse to wear any designs of Lagerfeld. More power to you Jason Wu.
Yes, I failed to tell everyone that on the night of the Inauguration when it was revealed that Dr. Jill Biden, our beautiful Second Lady, was wearing Vera Wang, that I too sported Vera Wang that evening. Well actually, it was Simply Vera: the line of Vera Wang for Kohl’s and it was some very soft, simple but very nice black pj’s/loungewear my daughter gave me for Christmas! I too added a burst of color as our First Lady is inclined frequently to do by donning the very purple, also very soft (infused with aloe) cuddle socks my son-in-law gave me. I think it is great when the top designers of the day come up with a line of more affordable clothes/makeup, etc. for us.
You are clearly a fashion plat, my dear! 👗
You are very cool!
Sorry, DF! I do care who wins the game. 49ers all the way!
Yes: as a Bay Area resident, I agree. Go 49ers. Sportswriters discount Bay Area teams (eg Giants): disdain for blue CA? Despite the ignorance of Culliver I support the 49ers.
Yanno there is something about PBOs hands that gives me pause!…
smilin
Yep, I paused too… 😀
😯 Hmm?
There’s something about President Obama PERIOD that gives me pause. (smile)
Vitaminlover, I hear you.HZ
He is just a tantrum or two away from stroking out…
wow! excellent takedown of mcpain – and even with respect
It is, however, I disagree with the digs at Hagel.
Alycee, the Salon writer presented McCain’s irrational anger and ability to hold a lifetime grudge as a negative, but not really as the sickness it really is. At the hearing, McCain could not separate Hagel from the president, even though Hagel was a long time friend and colleague. McCain’s questioning was so filled with vitriol and out-of-proportion anger, he lost all sense of how ridiculous he was looking. He let his rage control him as he’s done many times before. He would have been the worst kind of president–letting his own grudges and uncontrolled anger override his judgment. And like everyone else with a sickness this deep, he has no awareness of his own flaws.
Jackie G., “He would have been a worst kind of president-letting his own grudges and uncontrolled anger override his judgment. And like everyone else with a sickness this deep, he has no awareness of his own flaws.”
So grateful he did not make it as our 44th President. I like our steady, even temper, no mood swings President of these United States. POB 44th. Thank you Lord.HZ
I like both teams, but I like San Fran a little bit more…..GO NINERS! 😎
Way to go PJ! Yes, “GO NINERS!” Ready to make it to the football record books by winning 6 Super Bowls, tying the Steelers.
GO Niners!!!! is right…:-):-)
Go Dallas Cowboys!!!!! A girl can dream can’t she. Maybe one day in my life time I can say Go Cowboys.
I have just about lost all hope with them Cowboys.
I felt the same way about the Niners…but always remained a faithful fan…and after 18yrs… oh boy! Did they surprise me this season:-)
Yes You can 🙂 I will be watching it with a lot of Dallas Cowboys fans..Hope to make it out alive:-)
Tony Romo must go and Jerry Jones the owner need to go. I guess as Cowboys fans we have been spoil, but man are we un-spoil here recently. I won’t give up hope.
Anniebella, I thought you resided in NC. If so, how come you are not rooting for the Panthers and Cam Newton?
Kasai, great to see a fellow 49ers’ fan at TOD!
Only Team I root for:-) Thanks
I am ready for a big celebration tomorrow!
Yes!
Me too….My fam is a big Dallas Cowboys fans…lol! Pray for me..:-)
Tell your family members that they have no excuse not to support your 49ers since the Cowboys are not playing. Any way, all the best to our 49ers and their great fans like you and taiping1!
I’ve got my Niners T-Shirt ready to represent…GO Niners!!! bring it home:-)
I’ve been a fan since the 90s. Will never forget Dwight Young and Joe Montana.
Nath, I am a fan of the 49ers. Do not leave me out. HZ
🙂 🙂
I LOVE MY ATHLETIC PRESIDENT!
A Ravens fan living in Redskins territory… GO RAVENS!
Woah, waaaaaaaay closer than the snow poll!!!
Wow – that’s a pretty intense message. And true. I watched the clip from the emergency room doctor who treated the Newtown injured, who tearfully begged the state assbly to do something real in response to the tragedy. While the audience applauded, the assembly panel sat on their hands.
That really moved me too. Can you imagine what they saw? And the parents. I wish w leepew would have to be a first responder to a gun carnage or at least look at crime scene photos. Make the NRA do clean-up detail after the next gun death.
Where Da Bears at? Oh—-not playing? This isn’t 1985?
Well then, I don’t really care. I would then usually pick the Democratic city, but since both are……..who has the cutest QB? I don’t even know that important information. If I had to choose, I guess I’d go with the Ravens because…..Martin O’Malley.
“Where Da Bears at? Oh—-not playing? This isn’t 1985?”
😆 Poor Dotster!
I think the big news about this Super Bowl is that the two teams are coached by brothers. I don’t know the details, or their names even, but this is what my son tells me. I don’t have a fave team playing either, and if the teams are coached by brothers, then I am rooting for them both. It is kind of like when Serena and Venus Williams play each other. If you like them, how do you choose?
They are brothers. They played against one another last year on Thanksgiving. I am a Ravens fan so I support them. If I didn’t favor one team I would pick the Ravens anyway.
I don’t like how Jim Harbaugh, coach of the 49ers basically mocked and disagreed with President Obama’s comments about how he would have to think long and hard about having a son play in the NFL because of the injuries. Jim said he disagreed and that he’d let his toddler son play right now if he could. I think the POTUS made a great deal of sense. I can’t imagine any parent not considering the possibility of life altering injuries when making a decision about their own child.
Claire, I didn’t know what Jim Harbaugh said in response to President Obama’s comments. Remember this though, Jim Harbaugh is not the one playing the game tomorrow.
Yeah, I just thought Jim was so dismissive of the POTUS comments. He had the room of reporters laughing and I found it disrespectful of the POTUS. I don’t think he deserves to go to the WH to meet the President Obama if his team wins. Well, at least I prefer not to see him there with the POTUS.
I can’t believe as a coach, he would say those things either. There was a big article in Sports Illustrated recently about wives of pro-football players and how they deal with the injuries their husbands have incurred especially head injury/trauma and the long lasting effects. I understand there is current discussions being held as to how to make the game safer – improved helmets, etc. I so agree with what President Obama said and he said this because he was asked.
I wouldn’t let my soon play until 7th grade. That was about 17 years ago. I didn’t want some Dad who may or may not have known anything about the game teaching him. He was in soccer, baseball, basketball so he was a little busy. 😉
For me I am choosing the players who also happen to represent the great state of California. But I do understand your dilemma. By the way, both brothers are really good coaches who care a great deal about their players.
You can see Jim’s comments here. Of course rush limbaugh posted them too. He loved Jim’s put down of the POTUS.
Super Bowl XLVII: Jim Harbaugh tweaks president over family-and-football remarks
http://aol.sportingnews.com/nfl/story/2013-01-28/super-bowl-2013-jim-harbaugh-president-barack-obama-football-safety-son
Thanks Claire for the link! I now can fully understand why you soured on my team. I am definitely pissed-off by Jim Harbaugh’s ignorant disrespect of the President. But, I am still rooting for my 49ers’ players. May be after the win the team can go to the WH without the Coach.
LOL! That would be great if they went without Jim!
Sorry, if rush posted I won’t click. I don’t want what he has, :poop: for brains.
😳 Thought something else would show up.
But pick 49ers for Barbara Boxer and Nancy Smash!
Yes, taping1,these are are beautiful smashing ladies. Yes for our Sen. and next Speaker who will get her gavel back. Winners!!!HZ

Dont know why the youtube video is not showing up please pass along. Thanks!
Thank you. There is also the Budweiser Klysdale ad. I love those beautiful horses. Had the pleasure of seeing them in a Fourth of July parade in Cody, WY. There is also supposed to be an add featuring WY Cowboys roping or something in a commercial. WY is so backward now. I don’t know why I brought that up. Do not get me started on our idiot bleeps.
Powerful ad.
Tim Dickinson’s piece in Rolling Stone makes the case that NRA is about profit and only profit.
Dickinson says that sporting gun sales and target shooting are much less popular than they had been so now the gun industry is desperate to keep money flowing.
If we don’t stop them, what next? Grenades and rocket launchers in every gargage?
Just received my copy of Rolling Stone, and the article that Vicki mentioned is powerful reading. Pg. 43″The NRA vs. America.” By Tim Dickinson. Great writer. A must read for We The People called on to act.
I just hope that we will not display a discouraging attitude towards this issue. They, (the money greeders) thought they would take the WH with their millions and even billions, BUT , We the people came together with our hard working force and stopped them. And this I do believe, with all of my heart; that will hard work, focus, and much goodness surrounding POB and our VPOTUS , we can do this.
I just keep crying out during my praying/meditation times for wisdom, stamina to stand firm, no matter what, and courage to stand with POB to help in any way that we all can. We must do this for those precious children whose bodies were torn in pieces at Sandyhook. But not just Sandyhook, but in all places where any human life is taken away by this gun violence culture that we are in at this time.
Evil over good has to prevail, I pray.HZ
Brennan confirmation hearing Thursday…
Thanks jovie for the info.
Thanks jovie. I pray he is confirmed as well. We have so much to make sure we are busy at work sending our collective words of encouragement, emails, texts, phone calls to Congress.
Again, thanks for these reminders and all the work that you do jovie. I hope you are doing fine as well.HZ

Alycee – I saw that a couple of days ago – absolutely delightful and so caring
Thanks Alycee. It is so the “goodness in our spirit” for sure and much caring. 99ts. I RT’d it.HZ
Hopefruit, congrats on #1.
Well deserved.
You’re always so gracious when you logon, equaly welcoming to lurkers and TOD family alike.
Here’s a ROFL from the Tory rag Daily Mail. (I take a quick peek at their site because their photos can’t be beat, and they’re never in the annoying “slide show” format.)
If some GOPer actually said this, they’re dumber than I thought.
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2272551/Ann-Romney-run-Senate-Massachusetts-Republicans-urging-Mitts-wife-make-bid-higher-office.html
Warning: Don’t read Daily Mail comments, more hate-filled racist bile than you’ll ever read anywhere. It’s a disgusting hate-rag.
Agree 100% about the commenters at the Daily Mail.
Also, I don’t believe anything on their site unless it has the byline “AP.”
Apart from the BBC and the Guardian, British news “journalism” leaves a lot to be desired. British papers try to out-sensationalize each other with fabricated stories.
But did you see the headline? That Massachusetts GOP are urging Ann Romney to run for John Kerry’s Senate seat.
Has to be a fabricated article. #NoTermMitt and “You People” Ann are happy in La Jolla, NH, Utah, etc.
“Massachusetts GOP are urging Ann Romney to run for John Kerry’s Senate seat”
Oooooooh Arapaho415, please let it be so – think of the comedy! “You people vote for me or I will, like, totally cry!”
Are they kidding? Ann Romney.
I know about the Daily Mail comments, that’s why I do my best not to go there.
Speaking for my home town of Detroit…
Reminds me of post just before this one. Pres. Obama showed the film of his birth at WHCD. Had to explain to Fox it was a joke. 😉
I am trying very hard Chips. These hands softens my heart and makes me want to forgive the “skeeter birthers”. 🙂
I’m trying to forgive to COS – but I’m getting NOWHERE!!!!! 🙂
Dear #Skeetgate media. Jesus loves and forgives you. I don’t! You’re all scumbag jerks and deserve every disrespect that you get.
😆 When you started with “Jesus loves and forgives you” I thought, Bill???????
Wept after that!
I won’t be watching but voting for the east coast!
Ravens pulling ahead, close to becoming the Official TOD Team for Super Bowl XLVII ™
Who are the Ravens? Some brand name for clay pigeons? What do they serve in this ‘super bowel,’ anyway? Inquiring minds …. 😉
Bob, you’re brave – you do know you’re going to get beaten up now? 🙂
I use to live in SF and I can’t help being loyal to the 49ers. 🙂
COS, 49ers are one of the greatest teams in the history of football. Ravens are nothing but upstarts.
Just asking an innocent question … 😀 😀 😀
BTW ….
Fascinating how we creatively pivot from enjoying humiliating the #skeettruthers to keeping many truths at the forefront with #InAnEvidenceBasedWorld
GOP, NEWSTAINERS, Teabaggers, etc., have really not even begun to grok the power of PBO’s twitter brigade.
#FORWARD
Do you think he cares? I think he can handle it. 😉
Exactly Bob!
WHAT?
Chipsticks, you are not serious! How can the Ravens be the official TOD Team for Super Bowl XLVII? Are you trying to alienate 49ers’ fans? I hope you stay neutral in this. Otherwise, some of us 49ers’ fans may join UT in going against your Manchester United!
More, more, I want more. 📢🌋😈
GM (in my world) everyone
Still catching up – wtg hopefruit
The skeet shooting is an epic fail by the media and THIS is why
U.S. stocks rallied Friday, with the Dow closing above 14,000 for the fist time since October 2007, as investors welcomed a batch of strong economic data.
The Dow Jones industrial average jumped more than 149 points, or 1.1%, to hit 14,009.8, its highest closing level since Oct. 12, 2007. The Dow is now less than 200 points from its all-time high of 14,198.10.
The S&P 500 rose 1% and is also at its highest level since 2007 — about 4% away from its record high. The Nasdaq gained 1.2%.
…..
Friday’s strong advance followed reports on the job market, the manufacturing sector, construction spending and consumer sentiment, which all pointed to a healthy economic recovery.
http://money.cnn.com/2013/02/01/investing/stocks-markets/index.html
JUST to highlight that last sentence cause I don’t know how to bold
FRIDAY’S STRONG ADVANCE FOLLOWED REPORTS ON THE JOB MARKET, THE MANUFACTURING SECTOR, CONSTRUCTION SPENDING AND CONSUMER SENTIMENT WHICH ALL POINTED TO A HEALTHY ECONOMIC RECOVERY.
The media and the GOP can’t handle the President getting it right!!!!!!!!!
Hey there, 99ts, have you recovered from the floods?
You are all so kind to ask – we’re getting there – thank you.
Glad to hear that!
99ts (((((((((((( Lots of loving hugs to you))))))))))))))) I missed the information. Please be safe.HZ
“The media and the GOP can’t handle the President getting it right!!!!!!!!!” Exactly, 99!!
#TrustBarack (and get ready to laugh a lot, over the next four years, as he sends the #NEWSTAINERS & other crazies spinning in countless displays of their jealousy & flare for farce).
Thanks Bob – the US markets are way above the rest of the world in recovery – the US did it right – despite the GOP attempts to cause hardship and grief
Excellent comment, 99ts! By the way, I hope the rain has eased and you are slowly drying out from flooding.
I don’t care what anyone says, everytime I see the last picture of him quarterbacking I laugh hysterically. Stick with basketball President O.
He can play whatever sport he chooses. Go ‘head Mr. President!
He bowls and very well now. Perhaps the media would demand a picture, too?
Thanks Political Carnival 🙂 Damn well cried my eyes out!
You get to name this adorable baby, too!
The video about the Clydesdale horse is a nice video, I like that one.. The one about Kate Upton looks like porn, I rather not watch that one.
Thanks for the memories, desertflower!! That takes me back to the old days when I was still helpin’ to birth babies! The last time was 110 pounds of thoroughbred filly named Rose.
You can see the other Kate Upton commercial that was too hot for tv here 🙂 I never felt that way about a sandwich, I have to say….

LOL! Internet Grandma is HILARIOUS!!
I’m embarrassed to say I didn’t know her before this, she appears to be a legend!!!
I didn’t know her before today – I only saw one of her tweets earlier this morning for the first time. 🙂
Holy smokes, she has 405,469 followers, how did we miss this megastar?!!!
Goodness gracious me…
Doesn’t it sound like something Helen (MargaretandHelen) would say, Ms. Chips?
Scott Pelley just said the interview will be LIVE at 4:30 tomorrow…….he also had a graphic and picture up with that info.
BTW, I have a difficult time rooting for the Ravens. That’s the team that Art Modell took out of Cleveland in the middle of the night. We were living outside Cleveland………Browns fans then and still Browns fans. I have NO connection to the 49ers so my wish is that it’s a good game.
:!:, :shocks: is that where Lebron got the idea to ditch Cleveland and went South?
No disrespect to those who gt hurt while Lebron has a Ring on one of his fingers…..:)
OK, I am not as innocent as I am trying to be.
I understand …. my son had to tell me who the Ravens were. When the teams leave cities, especially when they have been there a long time, and become something else, I find it hard to maintain or develop team loyalty.
I am pretty sure that Irsay left with the Baltimore Colts in the middle of the night and took them to Indy. Modell announced prior to the end of the 1995 season that he was moving the Browns to Baltimore. Recall the fans were so attached to the team that they tore out stadium seats at the Browns last game in Cleveland.
Thank you tnmtngirl!
🙂 Welcome.
Pete Souza follows Bob Dylan, The Beatles and Julia Roberts on Twitter. Hippy. 🙂
Um…..wow, Pete.
I am not a tweeter. Can someone tweet Erin Burnett asking her to apologize to POTUS for being disrespectful by insinuating that he was lying about the shooting. She made me so mad when I saw the clip. Ask Jessica yelling asking the questions at the briefing.
I called TeaNN and also went on line and left messages.

I will send a email to CNN right now.
Because of Montana and Jerry Rice and the New QB, I like 49ers. However, I would like Ray Lewis to go out with another ring.
But, but Jim H. was humiliated after Jim Mc stooped playing. Ditka was cruel, crude and wickedly hard on him. So, I am for 49ers so Jim can say to Ditka, here is my middle finger. 🙂 Too childish? Hmm? 😎
Joe Montana, Jerry Rice, Dwight Clarke. That was a great era. I saw Joe Montana downtown a few weeks ago and let me just say, Joe Montana is looking very good. He was a great quarterback and he’s still got it going on.
Anyway, football is a weird thing but I want my home team to win.
As a Dallas Cowboys fan, I can’t stand Montana and Dwight Clark, Will never forget that catch by Clack to keep the Cowboys from going to another Super Bowl.
meta, I’m so old I was on a SFO/LAX flight tt MONTANA was on. OMG The Flight Attendants were going crazy, and he was loving
every moment of it. I have to admit he was a fine looking fellow..l
oh it was a PSA flight so along time ago tts when attendants wore skirts just slightly below their belts lol

“I know I am in Cali”

That’s a hoot Kasai, it’s showing up as Feb 2 for me, even though I am in Feb 3 land as we speak – I’m dizzy from the time-zone swapping!
I am dizzy just with 3hrs…time change..lol!
Ha, spare a thought for VC, Kasai – she’s still in October 2002. Jeez, I hope she doesn’t see this.
LOL! That’s B.O. (Before Obama)
🙂 Or, it could be PVC – post-VC waking up …. and that can take quite a while 🙄
:-):-)
Is that GMT (time at Greenwich)
Speaking of guns – as we were – I don’t believe there should ever be a sport associated with guns. They are designed to kill and I have never understood any type of “sporting” use. Never will. I think shooting should be removed from the Olympics.
Those who engage in mass murder do not seem able to distinguish between shooting targets and shooting people – there appears to be no reason why the Sandy Hook shooter decided to use children as his targets – but he had been to shooting ranges to practice his sport of choice.
If I had my druthers, guns would be banned totally….and I know other people who feel that way. However, we know that’s not going to happen. But anyone who calls himself/herself pro-life and is not for the assault weapon ban, does not understand life.
In fact, maybe we could add that to the list: “You might be a Republican if you call yourself pro-life but are against the assault weapon ban.”
For those who dont know this is the Nintendo game DOOM, for inquiring minds.
We need a new Chat Away post, but I’m all out of ideas for the pic …. come on you people, suggestions please.
