She did kind of look like Wonder Woman. Her outfits are something else. I really enjoyed the concert last night. The children looked like they were having a great time, the parents mostly not so much 🙂

My stepson’s British wife in London who is soon to deliver my 6th grandchild, Sophia, is a fervent Arsenal fan. My British stepdaughter and her family who also live in London are equally fervent Spurs fans (live close to their headquarters). So I don’t pick sides! They all loyally support SF Giants and 49ers though (Go Niners!)

    • 74 CEB
      January 20, 2013 at 8:38 am

It is because our guys are such good men who have gone through a lot of crap in their efforts to serve all of us. They have retained their honor through all of this. It is also because so many of us worked, fought, wept, prayed and donated to hold on to them. We cry for joy, for thanksgiving and in relief.

    • 78 hopefruit2
      January 20, 2013 at 8:41 am

To me it’s even more emotional than the last time. The last time I didn’t know what to expect and was sort of just giddy-excited and taking things as they happened. Now there’s more reflection of the deeper meaning – what we have accomplished with this administration and how America voted to re-elect this President despite a plethora of ugly forces in politics and media, corporations, etc.

There’s also the realization that this is the last time we will see our beloved President sworn in as President 🙂

        January 20, 2013 at 8:57 am

Also very well said. It seems to mean more in a much more earthy way. Before it was hopefulness, now it’s determination and gratefulness that these two fine men (in every sense of the word) have signed up for another four years of this grueling work.

Yes, this time around is REAL. E.g., we now have Justice Sotomayor, who we didn’t have before 2009.

So happy to have caught just in time the swearing of VP Joe Biden. Congrats, Mr. VP, the best VP of moder times. Thank you for your service.

As for Paul Ryan, he is probably leading another secret meeting plotting how to stop the President’s agenda and prevent him from being re-elected to a 3rd term. B***ard! Or he might be pondering why on earth he thought of “vouchering” Medicare in his budget? The fool!

The Health and Human Services Department suddenly stopped referring to insurance “exchanges” this week, even as it heralded ongoing efforts to prod states into setting up their own. Instead, press materials and a website for the public referred to insurance “marketplaces” in each state.

People should know in those states where Governors have said no, it is still available through the federal government. Confusiing the Public is what they ate best at.

Nearly three years after a deadly mine explosion in West Virginia, a former Massey Energy mine superintendent has been sentenced to prison and federal regulators have toughened a regulation that could have helped prevent the disaster.

Today in federal court in Beckley, W.Va., former Upper Big Branch coal mine superintendant Gary May was sentenced to 21 months in prison and ordered to pay a $20,000 fine.

U.S. Attorney Booth Goodwin says the sentence sends “a powerful message to this mine manager and other mine managers who would put profits over safety: if you violate mine laws and put miners at risk you will go to jail.”
