Decision 2012: The Snow Poll

Unfortunately votes from some states won’t be counted for weeks, by which time this poll will be long over. So it’s not technically true to say:

But, the decision of the rest of you people – πŸ™„ – will be final, unless I don’t like it. Voting ends in the morning-ish.

PS This is a global snow poll – a snow globe, so to speak:

Can transplanted Canadians have more than one vote? I vote yes – twice! It doesn’t feel like Christmas without the snowfall…

Chipsticks – I LOVE the SNOW!!!! Thanks for bringing it back this year πŸ™‚
The poll already shows 100% in favor of keeping the Snow – is it rigged? LOL!!!!!!

Oooooh, the snow has taken an early lead.

Me too Maryl1. I live in the Los Angeles basin and I have the pleasure of looking up at the mountains and seeing the snow, but I’m so far away that I don’t have to deal with it except when the wind blows off the mountains – then it’s very cold (45 degrees) πŸ™‚

SCREEEEAAAAM! Voters really should be more informed before they are allowed to vote. Look at how many of you are voting to keep it without thought to the consequences! //planting my face in my hands??

Re consequences; I was teasing from my real world perspective GG, like shoveling and snow tires and slippery conditions and frozen fingers and …. playing the grinch, so to speak.

I really DO like the TOD snowy effect though I am cognizant of the fact that it can play havoc with some people’s tech toys. In fact, last year, I remember being able to make the flakes dance from side to side and that was such fun! I wasn’t able to make them dance in a circle so I plan to try that this year. πŸ˜†

Chips, not to be a nag or anything, but is there a thing about how many beautiful PBO pictures one may earn by being first – like no consecutive pictures? Because that would make me really sad what with all the training, diet regimen, exercise, mental stamina, computer loafing, etc….. but if there’s no law, I’d really appreciate another awesome pic. And I think I voted both for and against the snow.

It is not my fault … I was born here. I did not get to make a choice. Poor me, thanks for the sympathy. On the up side : we (Alabama football team) get to play Notre Dame for the national championship and attempt to avenge the 1973 (12/31/1973) loss to them by one (1) point for the championship! I am hyped!!

I’d just like to gloat for a moment and point out that dashing Vote 2012 graphic of our handsome President is from the Georgia Democrats. We may not have won him the state this year, but damn if we didn’t have him styling and profiling on our poster! πŸ™‚

Gotta take the joy where you can find it!

    Loving the snow, btw!

Dudette, I bought the button version of that poster from the Georgia Dems and proudly wore it every day of the campaign. Everybody I met coveted it and wanted one for themselves and I referred them to Georgia. I loved it and will always treasure it.

Sometimes I can see snow up on the mountains – and on this page right now! Last time I was in snow was in Scotland, right before the ’08 election. Gorgeous!!!

Okay, there’s a trend developing here. People who only ever see snow on TV are voting “SNOOOOOOOOW!!!!!”; people who are snowed under most of the year are voting “NOOOOOOOOO!!!!!”. This might end up too close to call.

I can’t see snow, is it because I am using my IPAD?

  18. December 4, 2012 at 9:32 pm

Hmm, 73.45% so far for snow – it’s an avalanche.

  19. December 4, 2012 at 9:35 pm

    I voted OTHER.

Having been mostly out of snow, I did live in New England for five minutes (Bahstin, Hahtfahd, and Terrytown), and snow is nice from Thanksgiving to Boxing Day. Then it needs to disappear, and no ice storms EVER.

It’s why I’m so thankful to be home in SoCali with my tumbleweeds, and my glorious Pacific.

This might have been discussed already, but the seriously poor judgement of Petreaus is really blowing me over. He said that Roger Ailes was a “brilliant man”, and seriously considered taking Ailes’ advice, knowing all the skeletons that were hidden in his closet (and I’m sure we’ve only seeing the tip of the iceberg). The ego of these people!

So, today’s Senate vote on the UN disabled person convention greased my writing. The piece should be up tomorrow morning. Here’s a taste of it.

It used to be that fears of one-worldism were relegated to the militia movement and the remnants of the John Birch Society. But from the Reagan official who once said America would wave bon voyage to the UN should it leave New York, now to elected Republican officials preparing for the UN Armageddon, what once was fodder for poorly printed newsletters is now a dominant discourse in one of the America’s two major political parties.

The GOP fears anything which doesn’t fall within the purview of “Americanism”, at least as they interpret that vague word. George Washington warned the country of “foreign entanglements”. That horse has long left the barn. The GOP is fine with being entangled with the worldβ€”as long as the world acquiesces to US standards.

    Naughty mat diversion alert!

Hey vc… your “etc, etc” above reminded me of Yul Bryner in the King and I
This movie was made in 1956, before my time, but I remember watching it on tv reruns as a kid. That was one fine-assed bald man. Yet another crush! Goodness gracious he was hot!

The President declared it first snow day for me when we opened our mail and got a Holiday card signed by all Obama’s including Bo’s cute paw print. πŸ˜‰ He was on the front playing in the snow in front of The White House. Have been smiling all day.
This is the funniest thread I’ve been on anywhere. I just started posting yesterday, so most don’t know me. Like the idea of sporadic snow. I don’t think iPad users can see the flurries, that would be me and a few others that posted earlier. So in the spirit of my first card Happy Holidays to all, starting now! πŸ˜‰ I suppose I’ve posted this enough for one day! First post was about 2 something in afternoon.

Snow is beautiful on the computer screen. In real life I could do without it. But I vote yes to keep it falling in TODville through Christmas. πŸ™‚
