Chips, my dear, you are such a sweetheart! Thanks for giving me this timely new thread so that I don’t have to struggle my way through all FOUR threads I missed today! I can just start unwrapping this gift along with everyone else, AND what a gift it is too! Now I know you really love me. πŸ˜‰

I tried too, VC, but then found I missed the opening on this one by over half an hour, and now I am losing the ground game… But I went looking for you, to say Hey! Goodnight, everyone, sweet dreams TOD. {{{{{{Chipsticks}}}}}} I love our President and First Lady so much, I think I will cry for a while, from sheer joy and happiness of what they are sacrificing to be there for us! My word. They are so beautiful to me! πŸ™‚

The more times one watches Inception, the more it blows one’s mind. I highly recommend this movie to anyone who hasn’t seen it. There is nothing wrong with the movie. NOTHING. The plot is insanely awesome, the actors are brilliant, the dialogue is spot on, the visuals, graphics, images, fight sequences, dream sequences, are just blow your brains out A-M-A-Z-I-N-G.

I know Christopher Nolan always delivers top-notch movies like Memento, The Prestige, Batman Begins, The Dark Knight, The Dark Knight rises; but he tore the roof down with Inception. I want a day in his mind and Tim Burton’s mind.

Has anyone else noticed that the media are trying to imbue Kelly Ayotte with some kind of influence and staying power, just as they did with the Palin, despite all evidence to the contrary? Looks like they’re going to try and set her up to be somebody significant – maybe with an eye towards 2016 (when she’s up for re-election), regardless of the fact that the only woman holding a leadership position the Republican party is a glorified administrative assistant (no offense intended to administrative assistants – but only highlighting that all operational committee chairs of consequence are being held by white men)? Kelly Ayotte should be a laughing stock by now after joining the two stooges in their unfounded and embarrassing witch hunt against Ambassador Rice. Instead – I see headlines calling her an “influential new voice” for the GOP. Back down the rabbit hole, I guess…

Have no fear..those MSM endeavors usually backfire. They tried that with Rick Perry last year. Where is Rick now?

    • December 1, 2012 at 10:45 pm

Yes, theo, have noticed and nearly choked with laughter. The #NEWSTAINERS are a source of cheap humor, nothing else.

Up until becoming the third member of the three stooges I had never heard of Kelly Ayotte. Let’s remember this is the same stupid ass media who did all they could to convince us that Mitt Romney had a real chance of winning the election. Including of convincing people that Mitt won that first debate. Ayotte will regret he decision to go after Amb. Rice.

        December 1, 2012 at 10:58 pm

Nah. They never seem to regret a thing. But she should. It’s not appealing to be known as McCain’s puppet.

          December 2, 2012 at 3:05 am

Palin regretted talking to the media (fox news excluded and not real media) – Kelly Ayotte will discover the same – they never regret what they say – but they do regret saying it. Dumb is recorded – it doesn’t disappear.

            December 2, 2012 at 1:27 pm

*Dumb is recorded* – yes, over and over again. But they are too dumb to understand that, of course.

    • December 1, 2012 at 11:01 pm

Supposedly, She is on the short list for CIA.
      Go figure?

        December 1, 2012 at 11:11 pm

Kelly Ayotte for CIA? That surely has to be a joke.

        • December 1, 2012 at 11:15 pm

No, think another NH Senator the President tapped for Commerce?
Apparently, he wants that seat, and he loses nothing by putting a Republican in a National security spot. Keeps her near Him and under his Purview.

          • 50 theo67
            December 1, 2012 at 11:20 pm

The only Senator I know tapped for Commerce was Judd Gregg. I can’t imagine that the President wants anymore to do with him, and Kelly Ayotte doesn’t pose any actual issue for President Obama other than being a pain in the butt, and a darling for the media.Given the recent voting results in New Hampshire, she doesn’t have much time left in her political career in NH – her only other option is to try and go national. And her recent dalliance with McCain and Graham makes her look stupid, but crazy enough to keep the media entertained..

A dam joke which is not funny. Is jovie141 saying Ayotte is on a short list to be head of the CIA, list up…..I DON’T BELIEVE IT. There are many more qualified people around than that Ayotte.

President Obama is seeking an Aug. 1 deadline for overhauling the tax code and making changes to expensive federal health programs, the final pieces of what the administration conceives as a far-reaching plan to rein in the national debt, senior administration officials said Friday.

The proposed deadline was included in a plan Treasury Secretary Timothy F. Geithner delivered to Capitol Hill on Thursday as Obama’s opening bid in talks with congressional Republicans to avert the year-end β€œfiscal cliff.”

That plan generally mirrors previous deficit-reduction plans Obama has submitted to Congress. In all, it would reduce borrowing over the next decade by $4.5 trillion, officials said. However, Obama is proposing to dedicate about $200 billion of those savings to new measures to boost the sluggish economy, including additional unemployment benefits and extension of a temporary payroll tax cut for most workers.

Fiscal 2014 budget, jovie. The President is playing them in so many dimensions, at once, those who are challenged with even basic arithmetic and calendaring are going to be challenged beyond anything that has ever happened to them in their entire life.

Completely off topic: I cannot wait for “Les Miserables” this Christmas. I just think this is going to be an EPIC masterpiece. I lived in London in the early 90’s, and I used to walk through Piccadilly Circus every day to get to work and see the billboard for Les Miserables, and I kicked myself many years later that I never tried to go and see it. And the movie just looks like it is going to surpass every expectation in authenticity and talent. I just can’t wait!

Bruce Bartlett is killing it on Up With Chris. He was Reagan’s budget guy and has been advocating for a while about raising taxes on the wealthy. He gets pissed at republicans who pretend that Reagan never raised taxes eleven times. He is taking on Veronique de Rugy’s GOP BS and lobbing it right back at her. It is must see TV.

She was spinning nonsense about how raising taxes on the wealthy will screw the economy and Bartlett jumped in and told her “Your ideas are so goddamn dogmatic!!!” The universe froze for five seconds. πŸ˜€

Tim Geithner does a nice job in interviews, a very loyal servant of this President. Personally, I think he is a bit to close to the Banks, but that is part of the mandate if Sec of Treasury.
So, he is alright in my Book, because he is very reasonable.
Then Why do the Emoprogs hate Him so?
