Thinking about Willard going to the White House as PBO’s *guest* and I had a flashback to Miss Ann saying, “It’s our turn” and Willard telling the President to “start packing” during the campaign.

    All I can do is 😆 😆 😆

Yay, I was hoping for that Christmas video.

[Dial 1-BUMSGALORE, post has a cool tweetable chart]:

In his second term, President Harry Truman condemned the snail’s pace at which lawmakers actually got some work done, labeling it a “Do-Nothing” Congress. After all, the 80th Congress (1947-1948) only passed 906 bills over its two-year period.

The current Congress, by comparison, has passed just 196 bills, easily the lowest total since the U.S. House Clerk’s office started keeping track. Consider the progress in chart form, which should drive home just how unproductive the 112th Congress (2011-2012) really is.

Cute Bo vid. Love when he’s giving the eye to the fake Bo, making sure there was not a real live intruder on his territory—-like the Clydesdales. And he’s nicer than our doggie used to be with the xmas tree decorations. We could never put any baubles on the lower branches because they were too enticing—he considered them delicious, good eating, yum.

Wow Chips, that video of Bo is absolute adorable. You’re Good. BTW, Andrea Mitchell (Mrs. Greenspan) made a Freudian Slip at the beginning of her show and I called her out via twitter. She said “as the President arrives” as she was speaking of Mitt Romney’s arrival to see President Obama.

    Congrats PJ on being 1st.

[Trying to keep up w/ all the chess pieces! Damn! 🙂 ]:

The United States and Israel appeared headed for a crushing defeat Thursday, as a vast majority of the world’s countries signaled they would vote in favor of the Palestinian bid to receive upgraded non-member observer status at the United Nations General Assembly. But some American diplomats and Israeli politicians said the humiliating diplomatic setback could be an opportunity for the Obama administration to rethink the politically cautious approach to the peace process it has taken over the past year.

The United States-Israeli position opposing the resolution appeared to be overwhelmingly isolated, with only around 10 countries expected to vote against the Palestinian measure, compared with some 150 expected to vote in favor. No votes were expected from the United States, Israel, Canada, the Czech Republic, Panama, Micronesia, Palau, and the Solomon Islands.

    /////

Meantime, several key Israeli politicians, including former Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert, urged Israel and the US to support the Palestinian measure, noting it was headed for certain victory anyway, and that the text essentially supports the vision for a two state solution that was once the consensus position of the Israeli (and American) mainstream.

I just had to stop watching the press briefing and it convinced me (if there was ever any doubt) how unsuited I would be for the job of press secretary. I swear — I’d be jumping down off that podium and delivering major dope slaps to these MSM idiots. Watching these guys loll around like they’re at home in their LaZboy (and I’m looking at you Major Garrett), positively dripping with insolence, makes me livid. I’d be slapping him twice.
Even Jay Carney seemed a little testy. (Maybe I could be Jay’s Anger Translator! Yeah, that’s the ticket.)

    [Noooo! 🙂 What was Axe’s 2nd Challenge?]:

    1:11PM EST November 29. 2012 –

One of President Obama’s top political advisers is shaving his famous mustache after all.

David Axelrod, who won a mustache bet with MSNBC host Joe Scarborough over election results, has decided to shave after all because Scarborough won a second challenge.

The shearing takes place Dec. 7 on Morning Joe.

Scarborough and co-host Mika Brzezinski raised more than $1 million for Axelrod’s charity, Citizens United for Research in Epilepsy.

Last month, Axelrod said he would shave if one of Scarborough’s election predictions came true: That Republican Mitt Romney would carry either Pennsylvania, Michigan, or Minnesota. Obama won all three.

    Reid: I don’t understand Boehner’s brain

    By Alexander Bolton

    —————————————–

“I don’t understand his brain, so you should ask him,” Reid said when asked about the disconnect between him and Boehner.

Democrats argue they have already made their proposal to raise $900 billion for a down payment on the deficit at year’s end. They say Republicans should offer plans to cut entitlement spending, because that is the GOP’s priority.

“Is Boehner saying nothing? Then we’re negotiating with ourselves. Boehner has not had one specific proposal. The Republicans have had not one specific proposal. They can do it on the tax side, they can do it on the spending side. What do they propose,” said Sen. Charles Schumer (N.Y.), the third-ranking member of the Senate Democratic leadership.

I am more convince than ever that in order for anything to get done in D.C. we will have to take control of the House. These Republicans are a bunch of sorry ass crazy extreme radicals, bastards. Who don’t care one bit about this country.

      November 29, 2012 at 2:52 pm

Yes, I was listening to Boehner and his cronies on the radio this morning, and at the end, I was screaming that they weren’t offering any specifics. Not one single specific detail, but the media reports it like there’s actual news being made.

Bo is so adorable looking at the xmas tree. What strikes me of the photos of the White House Christmas of this First Family: it’s all gorgeous, of course, but it feels like a home. God bless this wonderful First Family.

Bo reminded me of my Harvey (who is no longer with us). We found him in a parking lot with a tumor the size of my first on his foot. We brought him home, removed the tumor, dealt with his issues and illnesses as he got older. We loved him to bits, he was such a great little dog. A wonderful companion to our other rescue dogs. He was about 10 when we found him. We had him for 7 1/2 years and I will miss him every day of my life.

His favorite place was under the Christmas tree. He was ‘waiting for Santa’. He would sniff and check out the presents under the tree but never hurt anything. He would push them into place so he could make himself a little area to sleep in. So darn adorable, he was.

I love your story of Harvey.

        November 29, 2012 at 3:41 pm

He was so great. He looked like a westie but with floppy ears. It’s hard to imagine someone just leaving him on the street, dragging that tumor on the ground. I fell in love with him instantly. We did look for his owner, but no one was looking for him.

I will always look for him under the tree……..

He sounds like he was adorable, 57andfemale.

        November 29, 2012 at 3:48 pm

Looked like a West Highland terrier with floppy ears. He was a precious boy.

The cancer specialist ‘guaranteed’ his tumor would grow back in 10 months. radiation really wouldn’t help, but we should do it anyway. So here was this great little dog who had grown to trust us, but was now getting leery of the car because when he went somewhere, someone operated on him or poked at him. I said to my husband something I couldn’t believe I was saying: we wouldn’t do the radiation and fill the rest of his life with pain and fear, burning his foot twice a week. We would love him and do whatever he needed, no matter how short a time we had.

I found a holistic pet specialist who put him on some herbs. The ‘ten months’ lasted 7 1/2 years. We found a small tumor after that time, had our vet remove it and we thought we’d bought him all kinds of time. But old age got to him, 9 months after the surgery. I think he would have done anything for us, hang on as long as we needed but when he was struggling for breath we had to do what was best for him. He was my first dog that we had to make that decision for.

Oh, and there was the problem with ‘leaks’. Anyone with a male dog, I have a great source for ‘belly bands’ that Harvey wore for about three years! Saved all of us a lot of hassle!

I will always look for him under the tree…….

    good morning chips and tods!

another example of pbo’s smarts is inviting myth to lunch. pbo is gracious, and myth has no choice but to show up. that means, we can all enjoy the delicious treat of imagining how it will go– are the waiters wearing black slacks, white shirts, black vests, and are there votive candles on the sideboard? does pbo serve mexican food, since myth wished he could be hispanic? is there kool-aid? cookies from the 7-11?

all this is a big christmas present for us, and we are grateful! 🙂

    Loved this article:

“Last week, five new fish species were given some left-leaning names after being recognized as distinct species for the first time. The five fish species were previously considered populations of the wider-ranging Speckled Darter (Etheostoma stigmaeum), but male breeding colors and morphology have revealed their ‘true colors.’ The fish were “discovered” and named by Steve Layman from Geosyntec Consultants in Georgia and Rick Mayden from the Department of Biology at Saint Louis University.”

    Etheostoma Obama, the “Spangled Darter”
    Found in Tennessee.
Steve Layman: “We chose President Obama for his environmental leadership, particularly in the areas of clean energy and environmental protection, and because he is one of our first leaders to approach conservation and environmental protection from a more global vision.”

Species were also named in honor of Teddy Roosevelt, Jimmy Carter, Bill Clinton and Al Gore.

why does Tweety continue to use JFK as a measuring stick for PBO? Seriously? JFK was alright, but given the magnitude of the disasters PBO has had to clean up or avert, there is no competition and therefore, you can’t use one presidency to compare to another. 🙄 If you are going to even think of a comparison, it would be FDR and even then, it’s not very close. Shut up Tweety. “Oh, JFK was glamorous, but he still did the work…..” that’s the lesson PBO could learn from JFK?!!! What about not screwing a hollywood star? 🙄 Tweety is such a lazy slug. I’m not saying JFK wasn’t a decent president but it’s easy to be a good president when you aren’t constantly faced with disaster after disaster, a great recession and a crazy obstructionist congress, but thanks for the advice Tweety. 🙄

Romney visit to the WH had to be very torturous to his mind and soul, especially being in the Oval Office. http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8068/8229803651_488717dfeb_h.jpg

He was some what close, but extremely out of reach. IMO, President Obama should not have brought Mitt in the Oval Office; Whitehouse yes, but the Oval Office, no. Mitt will not ever be the same after that visit in the Oval Office. He should be put on psychiatric watch. Seriously.
