I also just read about him. Hopefully, he will rise above his critics. His party has a long history of corruption, making deals with the drug cartels for peace. Accusations of election fraud etc. First wife, with whom he has 3 children, died of a seizure. Current wife was a popular soap opera actress, compared in looks to Carla Bruni. She has 3 children from 1st marriage. He had 2 out of wedlock, one died as an infant. He comes from a big political family, has been interested in politics from a young age, always has received attention for his neat and handsome appearance. Professional Left Sets Hair on Fire About Fictional Entitlement “Cuts”
…Again and again, it has been the ideologue Left that has abandoned the middle class and the poor when the president has fought for them. They abandoned – no, openly opposed – the fight to get health care reform done. They opposed Wall Street Reform, because it wasn’t “good enough.” At the end of 2010, when the president was busy crafting a deal to protect the middle class tax breaks, unemployment benefits and creating a new tax cut for the working poor (payroll tax cut), these same usual suspects insisted that the president abandon the middle class in order to prove some sort of a weird point.
There are a group of people who cannot be trusted to stick by the middle class, but they don’t work for the White House. They work for and permeate the spectrum of Left media, and they have shown an willingness – indeed, a demand – to abandon the interests of the middle class and the poor in order to prove ideological points…
LOL, the three stooges, McCain, Graham, and Ayotte still keep looking for what’s not there. Crazy is doing the same thing over and over and expecting to get a different result; but you don’t get it!!! 😆

Oil-and-gas lobby: Repeal of biofuel rule a top priority in next Congress

A top oil-and-gas lobby is changing strategy and will press Congress to repeal a biofuel production mandate instead of pushing for piecemeal changes to the rule.

I don’t “like” these shows either – but in order to combat their false propaganda, we need to be aware of what they’re peddling. We also need to reinforce the people who do go on those shows armed with the facts to correct disinformation.

I see the tip of the Christmas tree. Tomorrow is when the First Lady will show the trees honoring the military. They were so lovely last year, and such a wonderful idea.
I don’t mean to sound like a broken record but I’M EXCITED that the campaign cats are reorganizing themselves into a supportive group to help the President! I just heard something on NPR and they are totally wrong about how organized peeps are getting! Take a look at this you guys. The Action just launched an Events Page so you can find out what’s going on in your part of the world. I imagine they (meaning: us) are only going to get more organized. This is really cool!
Am I alone in the experience of suddenly having an overwhelming desire for buttery popcorn, making it, eating it, then feeling completely ill and vowing never to eat buttery popcorn again?
I’m a popcorn freak—-buy the most tenderest, most deliciousest baby popcorn from the Indiana Amish—-and I love real butter—-I grew up in Iowa. And sometimes regret all that wedded bliss.
Dotster, that popcorn sounds lovely, but anyone who mentions the ‘butter’ word again this week will be put in to pending with the fake Rolex, Viagra and Ugg Boots sellers.
Thank you for your support Meta – even if a little pressure had to be applied. I think I ate more carbs today than you missed out on in the last year, so I’d like to think I’ve balanced things up. 😕
LOLz. Well, I should correct that to say that I had to give up most carbs except for the tastings I had to do for my book just to maintain my weight. So, strictly speaking, I didn’t go completely off them but I do crave popcorn. So, thanks a lot!!
Chips, I’ve had a little inkling of increasing signs of bullying in the village, but thought I might me imagining it. The popcorn experience today has opened my eyes more fully to a second potential source (Does anyone know if it’s considered bullying when two bullies tangle?). However, it’s probably wiser to monitor the village more closely before making any accusations. Chips, you know if there’s anything in the TOD constitution and/or by-laws about whether leaders in the village are above the law or not?
I’m still working on the constitution VC, but one thing, as blog tyrant, I will not tolerate is a lack of deepest felt and sincere sympathy for my buttery-popcorn-overeating bouts. We’re talking zero tolerance.
‘as blog tyrant,’ Say what? 😯 Where on earth did I get the idea you were TODville’s supreme mayoress? I’m sorry. I’m a bit mixed up – too befuddled to be held accountable for the things I say, or for intolerance.
We do low carb too but occasionally have popcorn. Have just recently learned how bad microwave popcorn is so will begin doing regular popcorn in a paper bag. It is a high fiber snack food.
Besides all the oils there’s lots of bad chemicals, artificial flavorings, etc added. I’ve just learned this in the past two weeks andhavent done any in a paper bag yet but plan to switch to that.
Thank you, Meta! I know it’s hard to kick against the pricks. I see that answer was forced out of you, and I understand where your true feelings lie. /angelic, understanding look on my part/
We are one then, Bob. Bonded by similar traumas. And now I can’t get the popcorn out from between my teeth, six brushings later. This is not a good day.
Overeating popcorn is the only way one can eat popcorn. This is exactly what happens to me every time I eat popcorn. Then I don’t want it again forever, until the next time.
Hey Amk, did you forget to write out wifey’s number for me as per our discussion over a year or two ago? I keep forgetting to remind you. Remember I wanted to share some wimmin talk with her? It’d be such fun to discuss the new summer dresses you bought us, don’t you think?
Thanks. 😆 Will give her a call in the next few days – currently maxed out on long distance for this month. (rewriting number in a safe place….
1-234-567-890 ___ Oops! Seems like you left off a digit, or is her phone number shorter that ours here?
Don’t worry, CC. People here are polite enough to know when personal info is not to be read. They skip right over when it’s super personal stuff..
just got home, catching up, but can’t pass this by without comment: STAY AWAY FROM THE BARBARAS JALAPENO CHEESE PUFFS!! they are like crack cocaine !! worse!! you’ll want them every day—all day! munching from the bag while you drive! while you shower! can’t stop! sooooooooooooooooo goooooooooooooooooooooood!!!!!!!!!!!
Haha—-I’ve thought of Wile E. Coyote too when anyone talks about the fiscal cliff. Wile E. went over a ton of them. Roadrunner tricked him over and over——Wile E. never learned——hmmmm, sounds familiar.
Can someone do an animation of the GOP leaders going off the fiscal cliff a la Wile E. Coyote? I'd watch
A verrrrrrrrrry good thing!! The experience of having gone through this election, being insulted on a daily basis by the media along with the GOP – I think we’re absofreakinlutely topped out on this nonsense.
From sea to shining sea! And we’re still a couple of months away from the second Inauguration, so hopefully the freaks will knock it off by then. Not really expecting that, but we can at least hit back every chance we get.
A coupla hick hunters are out in the woods when one of them falls to the ground. He doesn’t seem to be breathing, his eyes are rolled back in his head.
The other guy whips out his cell phone and calls the emergency services. He gasps to the operator: “My friend is dead! What can I do?”
The operator, in a calm soothing voice says: “Just take it easy. I can help. First, let’s make sure he’s dead.”
There is a silence, then a shot is heard. The guy’s voice comes back on the line. He says: “OK, now what?”
I luv me some Hugh Jackman, sexy azz hell. Singing and dancing on Broadway, ok, but even I was like heck now Wolverine shouldn’t be doing dance kicks as high as the Rockettes. Fast forward the video to the 1:41 mark to see Hugh Jackman kick it up with the Rockettes…lol. I love this video though.
Justice in this country will not have been served until Karl Rove, Donald Rumsfield, Dick Cheney, Paul Wolowitz, Condoleeza Rice, George Bush and Jeb Bush are tried and found guilty of mass crimes against Americans and humanity for their various criminal role in the Iraq War and/or the 2000 Florida and 2004 Ohio elections.
Hello
Congratulations ut on #1!!
Cool!!!
Congrats UL 😆
Aw…I imagine that PBO is nostalgic for those days. It’s delightful and at the same time hard seeing Little Sasha grow up.
Couldn’t have asked for a better Pres/VP team. I feel so lucky to be alive to be an active witness to this Presidency and administration.
What did Will Smith say in the movie “Alien”…”They make being politicans look good” and “cool”. We have the coolest President and Vice President evah.
Hi jojo. “We have the coolest President and Vice President evah.” I will second that statement. HZ
I can’t believe these two are the President and Vice President – so cool!
Still maintain that this would make a terrific calendar picture like June for Father’s Day.
Bringing this over…
😆 😎 😆
Donna I just heard Karl Rove’s forehead explode. Noise was deafening. I hope he’s ok.
do you? do you really? 🙂
Shhhh … no she doesn’t; she is just trying to be nice (whispering).
I can hear you…Now you’ve gone and let the secret out 😉
sorry …
Forgiven!!! 😆
I love it. Karma is such a bitch.
Awesome.

What???? Holy effing crap!! Off to the BBC!

Unfortunately, GQ had FLOTUS at #7. They had to make up somehow for having Romney on that list.

ABSOLUTELY, Anniebella, ABSOLUTELY!!!
That’s clearly dishonest of GQ…

Was watching Rev Al where some lady said that the repukes are also going on the road to sell their bullpokie about the fiscal cliff. 🙄 idiots.
But didn’t they just claim that the campaign is over – when PBO decided to take his stuff on the road?
Evening everyone. Our thoughts and prayers are with you, Fred.
I just love Dave’s tweets. It’s like watching a mini election night all over when he updates that google doc. 😎
oops wrong Dave. 😳
I am very gratified as this was personally very important to me…
I was quite miffed when he was still hovering at 59%…
We are smarter and better than that in California – he should actually be at 70% allowing of course for the one issue purist left/libertarian crowd who will always vote 3rd party…
This^^^^^!!!
Those are two very good looking and distinguished el Presidentes. (I know, bad form en espanol o ingles, but you get my point.)
I noticed that too. 🙂
Me too.
Yum Yum
The Mexican president-elect is not exactly a man of integrity nor should the word distinguished be used to describe him…
The right man won the American election. The wrong man won the Mexican election. Peña Nieto is a scoundrel!
Yep. Al Giordano HATES this guy with a passion. Nieto engaged in wholesale election fraud to ‘win’.
I haven’t followed Mexico’s politics, but I have followed and respected Al Giordano on US politics. If Al doesn’t like the guy, that’s NOT GOOD. Al is definitely a straight shooter. I actually considered attending his journalism program.

Well, he is the head of the PRI. I don’t think the party has done any real reform since losing power for the first time a decade ago. If you ascend to heading the PRI, you pretty much have to be corrupt.

A special primary election to replace Jesse L. Jackson Jr. in Congress will be held in February, Gov. Pat Quinn of Illinois announced.
That’s exactly it.
LOL, the three stooges, McCain, Graham, and Ayotte still keep looking for what’s not there. Crazy is doing the same thing over and over and expecting to get a different result; but you don’t get it!!! 😆
Nope, not surprised at all. Meanwhile the female vote will continue to leave the Repubs in droves…
hmmmm…..kinda hard to continue their “war-on-women” with one of them sitting there.
Good West Coast afternoon, everyone.
First chance to say hi to everyone. Busy day at the information temple.
(How busy? I began writing this comment about 30 minutes ago.)
Best thoughts to Fred. You’ll pull through with flying colors.

Also love the very pensive and handsome VP on the right. Oh, and I just noticed all the other people. They seem nice. 🙂
There’s something very lovely about this picture.
Umm, random but awesome old video of the day, Robert Downey Jr dances at ComicCon2012 dances to Luther Vandross’ “Never Too Much”.
I like Robert Downy, but sorry to say, that’s not dancing. When dancing to Luther you have to do better than that. 🙂
I’ll take it! I love Robert Downey Jr! I’m glad he conquered his demons.
McCarthyism, then that makes the old goat Joe McCarthy in lipstick. ha ha 😀

So I see that Ed has rescinded the “Plouffe-hair-on-fire” memes from his commentary tonight.
he just oughta…he got smacked on twitter last night
Oppppppps spoke tooo soooooooon…there he goes….questioning the integrity of the President
Poor Ed, he is such a passionate, paranoid, fiery redhead.

I had to switch that NPR nonsense off. Somehow, I don’t think those were real supporters they were talking to.
Am I alone in the experience of suddenly having an overwhelming desire for buttery popcorn, making it, eating it, then feeling completely ill and vowing never to eat buttery popcorn again?
Yes.
Liar.
I plan to have some popcorn while I’m watching the inauguration festivities on TV.
I’m going to stick with the cheesy puffs Hopefruit, after today it’s over between me and popcorn.
PS I’ve been meaning to ask you for 36 years, what happened Hopefruit1?
She ran off with a Repub! Eloped somewhere…perhaps in the Cayman Islands…never to be heard from again!
Ah, I see. May she eat too much buttery popcorn and feel hopefruitlessly ill.
Yes. 🙂
😀 😀 😀

No.

Thank you Jey, that’s 3-1 for the ill feeling – take that, VC.
Dude, you’re making it hard for me now.
It’s 3-1 for me Meta, if you make it 3-2, well, I’ll be very, very disappointed.
Oh, no. No disappointment allowed!! Ummmmm, YES, I’M ON YOUR SIDE!!
[Disclosure: I gave up carbs a year ago. The thing I crave a lot is popcorn with salt and pepper, no butter.]
‘a little pressure had to be applied’
‘learned how bad microwave popcorn is’ Bad in what way, TNMTG?
Besides all the oils there’s lots of bad chemicals, artificial flavorings, etc added. I’ve just learned this in the past two weeks andhavent done any in a paper bag yet but plan to switch to that.
YES, I’M ON YOUR SIDE!!
Thank you, Meta! I know it’s hard to kick against the pricks. I see that answer was forced out of you, and I understand where your true feelings lie. /angelic, understanding look on my part/
No such thing as too much popcorn 😉
Bob, I have just disproved that theory. Trust me on this.
Bob, I definitely have some too much popcorn memories.
I do empathize as that happened to me once with Fritos and I’ll never forget it 🙂
We are one then, Bob. Bonded by similar traumas. And now I can’t get the popcorn out from between my teeth, six brushings later. This is not a good day.
No, silly, a day without popcorn is not a good day.
I used to think that Jacqueline ….. until today. 😦
Floss!!!
Minty floss!!
Overeating popcorn is the only way one can eat popcorn. This is exactly what happens to me every time I eat popcorn. Then I don’t want it again forever, until the next time.
No, honest Mary, me and popcorn are done – for ever and ever. Well, okay, until the next time. 😕
Exactly. Just as soon as you work the kernels out of your teeth.
wimmin/smh
You know, when I made my popcorn confession I said to myself: “Please don’t let Amk turn up in time to see it.”
Somuchforthat/smh
How do you get rid of 200 pounds of ugly fat ?
….
….
….
Divorce him.
Ah, “him”! 🙂
Okay then. I’ll pass the message to McConnell’s wife. Thanks for the advice.
Good one. McConnell’s wife not only has a ugly man on the outside, she is curse with a ugly nasty man on the inside too.
Hey Amk, did you forget to write out wifey’s number for me as per our discussion over a year or two ago? I keep forgetting to remind you. Remember I wanted to share some wimmin talk with her? It’d be such fun to discuss the new summer dresses you bought us, don’t you think?
Oh sorry that I forgot. Here ya go.
1234567890
And don’t forget to add the country code in front.
Thanks. 😆 Will give her a call in the next few days – currently maxed out on long distance for this month. (rewriting number in a safe place….
1-234-567-890 ___ Oops! Seems like you left off a digit, or is her phone number shorter that ours here?
Okay, now I’m embarrassed – was about to say: Noooooooooooooooooo, don’t post anyone’s phone number 😆 😳
Don’t worry, CC. People here are polite enough to know when personal info is not to be read. They skip right over when it’s super personal stuff..
You forgot the country code.
wimmin/smh
Teeheehee! I noticed we were writing along the same lines at about the same time.
Go to bed, rascal.
Not alone at all. Can’t touch the stuff anymore. I’m all about these http://www.barbarasbakery.com/snacks-puffs/ the jalapeno are scary good.
A 50:50 mix of those with popcorn would be really special 😉
Oh. My. God: Cheese Puffs Jalapeño!!!!!!!!! I am going to cry!!!! I have found heaven!!! Tien Le, what have you done to me?? 🙂
WTG, TienLe! Oh, Chipsticks, how will TOD survive this? 😉
Giggle. Happy Girl.
just got home, catching up, but can’t pass this by without comment: STAY AWAY FROM THE BARBARAS JALAPENO CHEESE PUFFS!! they are like crack cocaine !! worse!! you’ll want them every day—all day! munching from the bag while you drive! while you shower! can’t stop! sooooooooooooooooo goooooooooooooooooooooood!!!!!!!!!!!
Haha—-I’ve thought of Wile E. Coyote too when anyone talks about the fiscal cliff. Wile E. went over a ton of them. Roadrunner tricked him over and over——Wile E. never learned——hmmmm, sounds familiar.
The Mexican President-elect is adorable, dimple especially, and so is that guy sittin’ next to him.
Just sayin’.
Love how we’ve all decided not to take it anymore.
The emoprogs have proven themselves completely self-serving and a big mess. So yeah, we’re done.
Yep. And there’s more of “us” now who are also done. A very good thing!
THIS!!!
Nooooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!!! 😆 😆 😆 😆
/throwing hands up in the air/ while …. 😀 :grin; 😀
Lamh, you know he is portraying Jean ValJean in Les MiserAbles, the movie, releases Christmas Day, and a stunning production I am told!
yeah, I heard. I’m nott big on period musicals, so I’m not gonna see this one in theaters. I’ll wait for DVD.
Umm, wow! He was getting that leg up there. He could pass as a very sturdy built rockett. IS there anything the Jackman cannot do?
“If there are any idiots in the room, will they please stand up” said the sarcastic teacher.
After a long silence, one freshman rose to his feet.
“Now then mister, why do you consider yourself an idiot?” enquired the teacher with a sneer.
“Well, actually I don’t,” said the student, “but I hate to see you standing up there all by yourself.”
I bet anything YOU were that freshman!
I was always accused, unfairly I might add, of being fresh and having a lip.
That’s unbelievable Amk, what on earth made them view you like that?!?!
egg.sack.lee. And all the accusers were wimmin. !!! including the wifey unit !!!!!
/just smh.
And she STILL married you?
Dumbstruck/smh
Heh, I am quite a catch…. like a bear trap.
I’d guess she didn’t find out until after the wedding. He probably played insightful but quiet BEFORE.
(I’m thinking you’re right, VC – my dream is that she’ll post here one day and give her side of the story!!)
This is a winner!
I like ElmObamaTwotermz. Great creative twitter name. 🙂
Oh, that tweet is good. Very, very good.
There was a lawyer and he was just waking up from anesthesia after surgery, and his wife was sitting by his side.
His eyes fluttered open and he said: “You’re beautiful!” and then he fell asleep again.
His wife had never heard him say that so she stayed by his side. A couple minutes later his eyes fluttered open and he said: “You’re cute!”
Well, the wife was disappointed because instead of “beautiful” it was just “cute.”
She said: “What happened to ‘beautiful’?”
He replied: “The drugs are wearing off!”
At least he’s already in a hospital. Sounds like he might need it as the drugs continue to wear off… 😉
You find yourself stuck in a hole with a murderer, a rapist, and a lawyer.
You’re armed but you only have 2 bullets left, what do you do?
Shoot the lawyer. Twice.
Love welcome back trotter 🙂
The PV lead is almost 4.4 mil now. bot down to 47.42%.
11:35 AM tomorrow, PBO delivers remarks at an event at the White House.
Any one know what the event is??
I’m taking a guess..the winners of the human rights awards?
Ah, is that it? The schedule last week said he’d be meeting with the 2012 Nobel Prize winners on Thursday, so now I’m confused! Is this different?
LOL! Sorry Chips but I said this in jest. I have no clue what I’m talking about. Maybe it is the Nobel Prize winners.
“I have no clue what I’m talking about.”
Me neither!!!
2012 Nobel Prize winners is on Thursday, as you note, Chips. Just checked the WH calendar and it shows ‘no public events’ for tomorrow.
Think he is meeting with middle class and working folks tomorrow.
This was my understanding too, Alycee.
Get well Fred ; my thoughts for a speedy recover are with you and your family.
In case you missed it, Charles Pierce on McCain v Susan Rice:
http://www.esquire.com/blogs/politics/susan-rice-john-mccain-meeting-112712
“What More Does McCain Want From Susan Rice?… This whole long con has passed now into the realm of pure McCarthyism.”
That’s from Nov 2010.
Oh sorry—–I see that now. Joy must have been misled too.
Unfortunately that’s from 2010. 😦
Yowza.
like minds and all that…:) just posted the same up above and then saw yours!
Chat away 😉
