Thanks Chips. You made my day. Now it’s off to walk-in clinic: colds, UTIs, back pain, headache etc.

Know what you mean. I am up a little before my visiting brother from MT. He is all about guns, and loves Sarah Palin. Thinks this country is going to ruin under Obama. My other brother who lives next door is even more extreme as he wrote Ron Paul in on the ballot. I try to steer away from politics during holidays but they both go there and think of me as a Liberal nutcase. It tends to put a damp blanket on the holidays for me. I do not like to fight back but avoid due to my 88 yr old mom feeling depressed to hear us argue. I will be spending Xmas with my own grown kids and their families though (all Obama supporters) so that will be cheery.

Funny how “sides” are formed in families – in 2012, it’s “the Obama side” versus the (fill in the blanks – I won’t go there) !!!

Hang in there, Obama Grandmama – understand why you are doing it, for your mom’s sake. My mother always “required peace” in the family, too!

OG, our Mom is also 88 and hates the arguing….. therefore I do my family visiting after New Years Eve, and also spend the holidays with my grown sons! Understand so well what you are talking about, even though I live in a different country than my siblings, the emails are full of strife!

Here’s some encouraging news, Obama Grandmama. Throughout the 2008 Presidential Election, one of my older sisters (I have 5 ), was for Hillary Clinton, so she never forgive our man O for beating Clinton in the Primary. This time around, however my sister said she just couldn’t
“stomach” Mitt Romney. She started reading more about President Obama and “discovered” he wasn’t “the empty suit” she thought he was. Now she’s quite impressed with him. President Obama has always said that once people get to know him, the learn to like him! So there’s always hope for your siblings, too!

Excellent Donna! I’ve a mind to copy this verbatim and just send that as my christmas card this year – Ha! At least for Christmas you can hang with people who are in the same side politically as you!

They brought No Dakota’s cold weather with them to my part of TODville. We’re enjoying our brief get together and I’m already looking forward to XMas, when they’ll be visiting again.

I haven’t been able to take advantage of any of the economy stimulative purchasing this week-end. I think, I’ll try some of that to help out my fellow Americans. Have a good one!

I give Melisa Harris Perry 6 thumbs down for her cowardly letter to Cobbler. In essence she is too coward to write the President directly so she speaks indirectly to him through a turkey. Please, she needs to get a grip!!!! She can complain on White House.gov if she thinks President Obama should be pardoning human beings too.

      November 24, 2012 at 11:09 am

Yes, I didn’t appreciate this at all. It’s passive-aggressive. Pardoning turkeys are a light-hearted national tradition that should not be mixed with serious policies of pardoning human beings.

My son would have “allergy attacks” when it was time to cut our grass somewhere around that age (maybe a couple of years older), and then, I found out much later, he would go around the corner to a neighbor’s and cut his grass for the almighty dollar. (He’s still the industrious lad, and he’s 43 now! But I remind HIS KIDS of all of his antics, as often as I can! It’s what I do.)

I know that Amk had left the site today for a well deserved beauty…..oops, handsome sleep. Oh well, I left you a little reply on the last thread. Then when I hopped to the R&S thread, I was a tad too late….you had left. So I went looking for the information.

    Good Morning TOD family

I just received an email from an OFA teammate about Dec. 1st phone banking regarding the tax issue. They received an email I did not. I am thinking it was related to the website the President mentioned on his “post election” call. Can someone post that web address again? Just back from our road trip to Indy after festivities there with daughter and son in law and extended. Reporting in on political sightings as is my habit during the Obama years. Lots of Obama people still gloating—–Obama bumper remaining on lots of cars. Saw no Romney remnants——-they must have taken advantage of that gas station that was advertising “Romney bumper stickers removed for free”. Saw only one negative sticker—–some old geeze had a “Defeat Obama” sticker still embarrassing his back end. Noticed he didn’t mention Willard either. Mr. dotster warned me not to but I couldn’t resist giving him the “hahahahaha” mouthing as we passed by. Satisfaction! Our motel—–not exaggerating by much—–almost looked like an Obama convention was happening there. A bunch of Obama stickered cars lined up in the parking lot—–with license plates from Mo., Co., Mi., Wi. and Il., among others. And I even spotted a gal with a First Lady t-shirt on this a.m., big smiley Michelle face on it. So—lots of happy Obama people all about—-still proudly celebrating the sweet victory.

I was thinking the same thing. People are shouting Obama now! Maybe they were too nervous pre-election. I never did see any Romney bumper stickers but we had quite a few lawn signs in our area. But they were gone immediately—like people came out in the middle of the night post-election and threw those babies in the dump, getting rid of the evidence of ignorance, presto-change-o!

          November 24, 2012 at 2:52 pm

I saw less than five Robme bumper stickers and the folks who were driving were from the predominate demographic that voted for him. No surprise. Our handyman had a “I can’t afford another four years of Obama” sticker on his truck. Good thing for him I am not on the board this year.

My daughter’s neighbors took their down that night. 🙂 🙂 She took her Obama-Biden sign down mid-morning on Wednesday. She didn’t want to cause any more problems than there had already been……didn’t want to seem as if she was “rubbing it in” so felt that was the neighborly thing to do.

It was 81 yrs of health issues later in life. He had a Liver transplant. Then he had throat cancer that ended taking his life. I could sworn that I had seen him on The View in Aug or Sept this year. Nothing was ever said about his health. I like him very much in the I Dream of Jeannie shows. TV Land, no doubt would have reruns in his remembrance. RIP Mr. Hagman.

Yes. Was it not Bing Crosby’s daughter, Kathy or something……JR’s wife sister? I know that I stopped watching Dallas after that. Then they changed it and made it a some kind of a Dream……That did it and I Never watched another episode.

    Random middle-of-the-day-comment…

You know what’s awesome cool? When your 16 y/o nephew tells you you’re an awesome cool aunt for using keyboard functions to help him format his school Essay.

You know what makes you feel old? When your 16 y/o nephew is shocked to find out that there existed a time when computers didn’t have a mouse interface. THEN proceeds to call his friends and discuss this new trivia like they are talking about Fred Flintstone’s bottomless car 😦 Sigh.
