Aren’t they adorable. I love the Obama girls – they’re so sassy and stylish. It’s rare to see the children of two charismatic people have equal force of personaity, charm, charisma etc. But boy – those two girls have. Very impressive young ladies who I am sure will continue to do well whatever they turn their minds to. It’s going to be a pleasure watching them continue to blossom – hooray for the girls!
I love what they are wearing too because their outfits express individuality and encourage other woman and young people to do the same. I buy my clothes from second hand stores and I have gotten bolder in my combinations because of FLOTUS. She and the girls always look perfect. Again in addition to being beautiful, the girls have an air of classy sophistication and graciousness. They are just so awesome. I am so proud of our FIRST FAMILY. And Bo was not feelin those two beautiful horses. Does anyone know what kind of horses they are?
These appear to be Clydesdales. Black. Most of us are familiar with this breed through the Budweiser promotional team, which uses a bay color Clyde.
Horses and dogs can get along very well but it takes some training and practice. Bo did just fine here considering he probably sees a hitching team but once or twice a year.
Clydesdales are the most famous working horses. Bred to pull wagons full of heavy loads. They eat a lot and poop a lot. (Did you notice the pooper bags on the horses? No messing up the White House drive!)
Actually because you are talking about several ladies, you should really be saying ah the Obama women ELLES SONT MAGNIFIQUES! That would be the correct expression! LOL. I am here all week for anyone needing french lessons, ahahhahahahaha
Ha!!! Maryl1 left me this little “gift” on the Rise and Shine thread this morning as I went off to work off some of those calories I packed on yesterday.
Something to make you “work” a little harder….Ladies Enjoy!
😯 😆 😆 😯
Carville was one of those one who didn’t think POTUS would win re-election. Plus you are right I remember alot of the things he said about POTUS and I didn’t like them one bit.
He has all sorts of reasons why. None of them are the real reason. President Obama won re-election because he is the best candidate with the hardest workers. It all came down to character.
doesnt he remind you of Golam the cave dweller in Lord of the RIngs? Always expected those two to show up in a SNL skit maybe when the Hobbit comes out?
ut, I am with you. Carville is a backstabbing SOB. He, plotting with that ugly wife (Matilin) who at the time worked for Dick Cheney, stabbed John Kerry in the back in 2004. From my stand point, he is to never be trusted again. He can GFHS for all I cure.
Yes, Jacqueline, it’s the account he arrogantly created immediately upon being chosen by Mitt. Was asked to bring some attention to the fact that it hadn’t been closed. Not meant to in any way disrupt the joy!! Just a public service tweet 🙂
No problem CEB! I think what happens is the live streaming WH video is replaced by a new video (after the event) on YouTube, and the original turns to private and is then removed. I think!
Did anybody else notice the white tape on the Christmas tree in the shape of “XO”? Somebody on the Christmas tree team loves them some POTUS and FLOTUS too and sending over some Holiday Love to the occupants of 1600!
Alice Walton’s message of “Happy Thanksgiving and Merry Christmas” my ass. The whole Potter — I mean Walton—family is a disgrace and platitudes don’t pay the rent.
Alice Walton, daughter of Wal-Mart founder Sam Walton and (according to Forbes) the 10th-richest American, has given $200,000 to Restore Our Future, the super PAC backing Mitt Romney. On June 30, 2011, Alice and Jim Walton, along with Jim’s wife, Lynne Walton, all contributed $30,800 to the National Republican Senatorial Committee, and another $30,400 apiece to the National Republican Congressional Committee.
In total, so far this cycle these three Waltons (and spouses), have contributed more than $813,000 to political campaigns or outside spending groups in this election cycle – every dollar to Republicans.
gotta say, my reaction was huh? amazing technology explained here!
‘ High-performance membrane separation is a focus of U.S. Department of Energy’s Office of Fossil Energy (FE)’s Carbon Capture Program, under which the Ohio State project is managed. The program supports the DOE goal of cost-effective deployment of CCUS technologies within 10 years to position the United State as a leader in the global clean energy race. ‘
Quick question. For those who’ve seen Lincoln the movie, he died at the end right? I know he was assassinated in real life but I need to know if the movie covers that scene. I’m in a discussion with someone. Thanks.
Just saw it. Does not show it happening. Shows announcement of assasination at other play where Lincoln son was. Next scene shows Lincoln being pronounced dead by dr.
UT, I just saw the movie this afternoon and fantastic doesn’t begin to cover how great it was. Daniel Day-Lewis WAS Abraham Lincoln and every other actor delivered a stellar performance. The lines were really long waiting to get in and longer still as we were coming out and others were trying to get in. I told everyone that it was worth the wait. There’s gore in the movie from the battle scenes, but you do not see the assassination–only Lincoln pronounced dead. And the whole profound, needless tragedy of it and all the horror it caused this nation hit you between the eyes. Had it lived–had he just had a guard at his box in the theater–the whole course of American history would have been changed for the better.
The guard went off to have a drink instead of guarding the President or so the story goes here in Chicago.
A new rooftop bar at the Lincoln Hotel has been named after the guy who was supposed to be guarding him; J. Parker. This hotel is just a few blocks from me; in fact my highrise condo building is in the background. Not sure what I think about the name of the bar but it has the best views of all the rooftop bars in the city (so they say 🙂 ) http://www.nbcchicago.com/the-scene/food-drink/Hotel-Lincolns-Rooftop-Lounge-Officially-Opens-164443176.html
You guys have got to watch this. Elon James White who host “This Week In Blackness (TWIB)” just posted his wedding vows. He’s been married 7 months and it’s hilarious and sweet.
I am not trying to start anything now nor ‘am I trying to re-litigate the last post..
However, I had a thought, though it might not be a good one.
But here I go: If the 2012 Xmas Tree is delivered and over and done with, then……it is reasonable to say FOUR More YEARS, right Bobfr? That Means, Lady Chipness…..love it……thanks DF, can also be right too.
But on the other hand, Bobfr can also be correct….since the post was posted before the delivery…….making it One plus 4 more years.
Yes, I am a TODville Chicken……perhaps……….looking for a vigorous debate……any takers?
Egyptians are unhappy with him for another reason: he’s just given himself sweeping powers in order to “speed up” the transition to “democracy”. Protests all over the country, and clashes between Islamists and anti-Morsi activists.
LL, I was appalled at how many powers he abrogated to himself. He even put himself above the courts, which means there’s no mechanism to challenge him. So he did make himself a dictator, virtually by acclamation. I can see why a lot of Egyptians who risked their lives to free themselves from Mubarek would be royally pissed. Plus he got a lot of money out of the deal to broker a truce. He seems to have made out very well for himself.
Don’t like this one…the men are not dunces….and Morsi played a pivotal role in the negotiations…and it negates the role that the President played here….
Truly thank you very much. Man In The Mirror is my fave song of MJ. Freddie Mercury of Queen….his last video performing Those are the Days and Michael’s Man In the Mirror are my fave of Singers who are no longer with Us.
Thanks dotser for posting this – I just watched it for the first time. In addition to great coverage of the making of his songs and short movies/videos it includes some great interviews of some of the most musically talented people in the business and and all of them – years later – still get overwhelmed with grief to the point of not being able to speak when asked about his death. Such a loss…
Thank you posting this. I love docs that focus on the artist and his process. It was so great to see how he collaborated with other talent to make his movies. He was truly the King of Pop.
Thanks so much for posting this. I watched it right after you posted and I see it’s gone now. I enjoyed it a lot and I’m sure I would never have seen it without your post here…. So thanks again!
I was just moseying along in the TOD archives when I saw this ‘silly’ segment which I hadn’t previously seen. I had heard it said our president likes pies, but really!
Were you there, Ison? We got a president who is very much a total package – humour, seriousness, natural, sincere, etc. etc. The archives are a great place to lose yourself if things are slow. I’m running into all kinds of goodies. Pres (senator really) gave a shout out to Deval Patrick in 2005! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=phTudBtyrog&feature=related
No, VC, I wasn’t there in West Philadelphia, but I was up in Germantown. This was the day that PBO did his “Philadelphia Tour” He made four stops in four different neighborhoods in Philadelphia – North Philadelphia, Northeast Philadelphia, Germantown and West Philadelphia.
I remember the day distinctly because the weather was PERFECT and the city was just abuzz with positive energy!! It was fabulous!
Everywhere he went people lined the streets to watch the motorcade and then hustled over to get to the venue if they were still letting people in. .
I like the way PBO memories remain vivid , especially for those who have been ‘up close’ to him {even it’s only in the same city while he visited 😉 }. I say this because only recently I was commenting on the fact that there are so, so many children who have met him, or Flotus and who will grow up with super positive memories of their president. For example I can imagine your son was overjoyed when he won!
whew! just back from eating a big piece of pie! couldn’t figure out what was wrong with me, after seeing this video–i hadn’t had any pie at all today! horrors! muuuuch better now–thanks vc 🙂
Hey, Susanne, don’t you try blaming me for that big piece of pie you ate. You were just waiting for an excuse to have a ‘big piece’, and any excuse would have worked. 😉 😉 😉 Truly I haven’t figured out the attraction people have to pies, cream filled cakes and chocolate! If you are going to eat cake, leave out the gooey stuff and enjoy the CAKE, and pie is a waste of time for me because I have to scoop out too much filling to get to the crust. 🙄 Plus, I’ve never seen pumpkin pie with a flaky crust. I mean, I ask you, what’s the point of any other kind of crust?
you and i are in complete agreement about the crust issue. blame it on my mother…she use to make pumpkin pie by baking the filling in one pie plate and the crust separately, in another. then she’d slip the custard part into the crispy bottom crust just before serving. any little rough spots–that’s why god gave us whipped cream!
i have started making most of my pies without the bottom crust at all–i just pile the fruit in a big rectangle baking dish, and lay the crust on top to bake. soggy crust is an abomination!! 🙂
we have the best president ever–osama bin laden gone, check; sandy victims hugged and helped, check; myth robmey trounced, check; remember everybody, eat lots of pie! check!!!
Substitute people and policies for pie. I remember when I first saw this I would watch it over and over again because it is so brillant so awesome and it demonstrates just how off the chart smart PBO truly is.
Hello TOD. I was there on 52nd street in West Philly on that beautiful October day. Had to keep hopping up and down to grab a pic. I so remember the pie story. Such a charmer 😀
What size darling VC? And this time you had better tell me, or I will whine all day to Chispticks! And she will make you tell me! 😆 (please let me get this for you, but hurry, while supplies last…..)
😥 😥 Wait a minute (sniff! sniff!) while I dry my eyes. I was trying to decide what size I was. sniff! sniff! If another offer comes up, please grab me an XL. Do you have a twitter account? I’ve always hated the thought of adding a mite to Chips’ load by asking her to act as go between.
I will keep my eyes and ears open…. No, I don’t use twitter. We will figure it out….. Just need a jacket for you to attend the Inauguration, it’s gonna be chilly! 🙂
Oh, the regular jacket part is easy, Pamela. Don’t forget I live in a land where cold and I are very familiar with each other. In fact, I’ve been quite surprised that it’s nearing the end of November and I haven’t had to use my winter coat yet, or dig out my snow boots. I haven’t even considered putting on my snow tires yet – really unusual weather we’ve been having, but I AM NOT COMPLAINING. /sorry for shouting, but I wanted to be sure the weather distribution person is well aware that I have no complaints about the current weather./
this is exactly why it is so outrageously unpatriotic for mccain to denounce pbo’s probable next sec of state–without the support and clout of the entire government, our diplomatic efforts are enfeebled. and we need a strong negotiator to partner with pbo and our allies in nudging egypt’s new government in a positive direction for the middle east as well as for the egyptian people.
McCain and Graham’s, and the other republicans’ patriotism is only party-centric. If their party is not in complete control of every branch of the government, especially the WH, patriotism is optional.
I’m sorry. I have no love for Frum. He makes sense in a lot of criticisms of his party but he went out and voted for Romney. He is part of the reason why the GOP will never learn. No matter how much they lie, no matter how low they go, Repubs like Frum will always put them back in office.
I agree gobrooklyn – I heard him recently on moningJoe saying the reason Walmart pay such low wages is because there is so much unemployment – AND THIS IS HOW A FREE MARKET ECONOMY SHOULD WORK. Walmart pay low wages because their are NO checks to stop them – they helped to destroy unions which have always been the working class path to a living wage.
Frum thinks the 1950s full employment raised the middle class – he forgets it was very large government infrastructure building and high taxes that gave the 1950s high employment. It was the union movement that got livable wages. The decimation of state government employment since 2008 is what has caused the protracted unemployment – the whole economic philosophy of the GOP is wrong – and Frim supports it 100%.
And I think he came up with the “axis of evil” line, with no thought process behind it that it would matter. He’s a fool trying to look like a former fool.
“He’s a fool trying to look like a former fool.”
Seems to be another act on the wingnut welfare circuit. He wrote an e-book (I think its an ebook) on Why Romney Lost. Dude has been booking appearances after appearances and making that money.
Agree. Frum not only voted for him (I guess to be expected since most of his criticism of Romney was on style not substance) but he’s talking about himself in this as he is paid to lie. Even though, if he haf ANY sense of reality or wasn’t needing to get paid to lie, knew Romney wasn’t going to win but he predicted exactly that.
Frum’s tactic is to admonish the GOP for its problems while promoting the politicians and policies that are the problem. If I were Frum, I would have been finished with the GOP when AEI fired me after I told the truth about Fox News running the GOP. That he didn’t quit the GOP at that time led me to believe that he is a hack who is willing to support the wrong politicians and wrong policies in spite of knowing they’re wrong. He’s got his, the rest of us are aren’t important.
I totally agree with all of you. Frum is overrated by liberals. One has to listen closely to what he says. Most republicans are hypocites. They all stood on the stage with Robney promoting him as the next president, and soon as the election was over, they turned on him like they never knew him. A friend of mine says that folks in Louisiana hate Jindal but no one ever run against him. He was one of Robneys big surrogates.
Jindal is full of it. Melissa Harris Perry had a few words for him on her show. I actually want him to get on the national stage so that he can be exposed for the fraud he is. Jindal and the GOP don’t have a problem with what Romney said. Its that he said it out loud. AND IF Romney had won, not a single one would be griping about HOW Romney spoke about voters.
I commented earlier in reply to someone’s comment, but I LOVE what the women in the White House were wearing today as they received the Christmas tree.

GOP takes aim at strengthened Amtrak
By Keith Laing
House Republicans will hold hearings next week on Amtrak, which Transportation Chairman Mica is targeting for cuts despite record ridership.Â
Jovie, they will try to reduce government expenditure on every possible issue – making out they have some relevance. All they are doing are ensuring a dem majority in 2014 – despite the gerrymander attempts.
Roger that, 99, and we are going to be sure that they are reduced, maximally, in Congress and in every State Gov we possibly can. The only way a legitimate opposition party – a key ingredient in a vibrant democracy – will emerge is when it creates more sustainable options for the greatest number of citizens, not the exact opposite (which has been the m.o. of the Republicans since Ike).
Bless you Bob – I have a distant relative who I met through my family research, with whom I have a wonderful friendship – spent all his working life in the army – and he always uses the “Roger that” phrase whenever we speak.
Sometimes I wish I could be there to help bring out the absolute truth that the current GOP congress is working towards the destruction of the US – because they see no other way to defeat the President. You, however are doing a wonderful job of that Bob – maybe this time around the MSM might see the GOP for what they are.
Thank you 99!!! Whether the MSN sees is is only to their benefit, as in survival.
We are the media now, and increasingly that will become more pervasively so, as long as we leverage the tools that are becoming ever more affordable and, thereby ubiquitous.
Democracy has always been about participation in governing, not merely voting.
amtrak, big bird–they have nothing of relevance to contribute to the conversation, so they throw these wtf-bombs in, as if anyone would take them seriously. the problem is, they’re used to commanding respect because they’re white guys in suits–not working anymore, rethugs. you’re going to have to actually do some work toward real solutions, or you’ll be gone in 2014.
Mica is the most self-absorbed repugcongresspuke I’ve ever seen up close … attended a meeting he hosted once and it’s all about his self-aggrandizement. This is the problem when they make Congress their lifelong career, without the smarts or skills or heart to go with it (for instance, everything Joe Biden brought to the Senate, when he was there!).
Awww … that almost brought a tear to my eye, for some reason. Even the carefully guarded and routed President’s motorcade pauses to let a fire engine pass by (of course it would, I know that), so the fire personnel could help the President’s fellow citizens. (Might be the wine, but that got me ~ PBO epitomizes the fact that we all should be equals in a democracy, trying to help each other stay out of harm’s way!)
Hi jacquelineoboomer. I love your comments. You always bring our attention to the heart of our beautiful president of how he respects the gift of life to all and his respect for law and ordeer.
No, your wine is just fine. These beautiful “got to me moments by PBO” are so natural for all of us who see such a beautiful human being who is our POTUS. Someone mentioned the other day that we need to relax and not allow anyone to steal our joy of PBO being our president for the next four years, and I totally concur.
We have seen how many have treated POB is such an unhumane manner, and we are Not going to allow the acts of hatred and ugly spirits to dominate our space of caring, appreciating, respecting, loving and supporting PBO these next four years. We worked hard for him, we got him re-elected, and he has worked so hard for all of America. Now whether others choose to appreciate this beautiful gift, we here at TOD will choose to enjoy him. So you continue to see what you see, and along with the wine enjoy each momment that Almighty’s grace gives us each day to enjoy our president.
I just was talking to myself this morning and saying the same thing that I am now writing. I will enjoy every moment we see, hear, and hope for in these next four years, so help me God.
So let us start our” We Will Enjoy Daily PBO these next four years.” Now I will have a glass of wine with you Jacqueline to celebrate the goodness of our beautiful POTUS tonight. ((((((( Love you JO, and I lift my glass to you and our president.))))))))HZ
Me too, Byo and Bobfr! Despite all the PL’s negativity, the hostility from the mainstream media, and the manipulated polls, we re-elected our President on Nov. 6th. For me, 2012 is even sweeter than 2008. In 2012 we had to deal with: the massive money poured in the campaign to defeat the President by some of the wealthiest Americans; the non-stop obstructions by Republicans in Congress with the intent of tanking the economy so that they would be able to blame the tanked economy on President Obama; the hostility of the mainstream media; and, unfortunately, the constant, pants on fire, criticism from the left. President Obama’s opponents and enemies threw the garbage truck against him. Yet, in the end, the majority of sane Americans chose to stick with him.
Yes Sir, Bob, Our President, thanks to the wisdom of the majority people, is going to be around for four more years.
Amen, Nathkatun7 and Bobfr. We did it and now we enjoy him and work hard to make sure his agenda is carried FORWARD for this nation and the world. Lift him up daily in thoughts and prayers and meditations.HZ
Yes Indeed, HZ! We have elected our leader, but we are still obligated, as citizens, to work very hard to ensure that the agenda he campaigned for is not obstructed by people who hate the President and have no qualms destroying the country by opposing everything our President does.
Bo is the most poised First Dog that I have ever seen in the WhiteHouse in my lifetime, and I have seen a few. Our First Lady and First Daughters have done a great job in making sure that he is so much a part of our First Family in representing everything about their life and style of living as they serve as our First Family.
It is just a sweet joy to see how he is so much of a cute one as well as having a sense of who he is and the respect of that honor of being our First Dog. Just beautiful indeed. I am waiting for Bo to run up the stairs like POTUS(which is is already doing) but stop at the top of the stairs of AFOne and wave back to ous like POTUS does. The MSM will have a complete meltdown for sure.HZ
i’ve been bothered by all the articles saying the rethugs need to reassess their strategies, or update their language, or re-make their image. that just makes me crazy. they do not need a beauty make-over (okay, yes they do, but this is a metaphor here) they need a new heart and brain.
so i think we need a catchy way to reiterate this message–don’t show us your new logo, show us your new attitude. what do you think of this:
work with dems to keep the middle class strong
or in 2014 you will be gone~
My mother always taught if you dig a hole for someone else, it is best to dig two cause you’re bound to fall in one too. Here’s the problem for the GOP. When peeps think GOP, they think racist and lies. Those two associations will be very difficult to overcome. They will need a new name and obviously new policies. Not gonna happen. They will eventually disappear back into the woodwork.
A little late, but never too late: Chip, my love, I’m thankful and grateful to have you in my life. You and Nate Silver kept me sane over the last few months, but only you I really love to pieces.
I just knew PBO was going to get 4 more years … but … so needed Chips to wipe out the hounds of lies. The news according to TOD was the truth, the whole truth & nothing but the truth.
This kind of shit (see tweet above about a single woman at a chain “bar and grill”) – judging what is an “appropriate place” for a single woman just so pisses me off. How do they know she didn’t just get off work or on her way to her Grandma’s or is waiting for one of the guys who works there or WHATEVER. God, I thought this shit wouldn’t still be happening for women in 2012. A long way to go when it’s “progressive” women doing this to other women.
Wandering around ‘single’ among the archives can be great fun. 😉
I’d forgotten about several of the bits and pieces I’ve been stumbling over. Here’s one that could be a follow-up or a precursor to riding the bikes that DD4O shared earlier. 😆
I love this!! and the African tutus – gorgeous. PBO has inspired so many ICONS. The music, dance, and arts are my favoirte categories. My husband listen to the rap STANDUP – RE-ELECT OBAMA, which ic one of the best campaign raps of all times. I also love the song by a young artist, which I can’t thin of right now. I hope we have a pre-inauguration concert like we did the first time. And I hope Beyonce will do her “Proud to be an American.” I listened to that song several times today.
Idon, I remember having a conversation with my offspring that PBO’s campaign is one of the happiest I’ve seen, and we were specifically talking about the creativity the campaign unleashed over and over again in so many different peoples and ways.
Just ate my Thanksgiving dinner. We spend Thanksgiving at my brother’s, but I always cook a meal for home as well. So, after snacking and nibbling all day on desserts of apple pie, pound cake, banana pudding, and red velvet cake, I finally ate my own dinner meal of Beer Brined Turkey, cornbread dressing, sweet potatoes, brussel sprouts, mac n cheese, watergate salad, asparagus loaf, and gravy, I am more stuffed than the turkey, which I don’t stuff. So as I waddle off to bed, I wish all you O’s a g’nite and pass the bromide.
Well that one I got from my mom n law as my other half’s favorite. You line a 9×13 pan with crushed saltine crackers. Then layer canned asparagus (I use 4 cans of Green Giant brand), hard boiled egg (I use about 6 eggs), and shredded cheddar cheese (I use abut two cups), for two layers of each. Simmer about 2 cups of milk, 3/4 stick of butter, I also add the cheese packet from Kraft Mac n cheese. Pour the milk mixture over the aspargus and bake for a while til cheese is bubbly. I would give more detail, but my mom-n-law would never measure anything and when I’d ask, she’s just say, ‘oh honey we don’t measure stuff or have directions, you just do it the way you like’. So after 41 years of making it, I think I finally got it the way she makes it. At 86, she still cooks like the old down home folk.
It’s a yummy concoction that I sometime use instead of cranberry sauce. It’s pistachio pudding, crushed pineapple, minced or chopped walnuts, marshmallows and cool whip. In a large bowl dissolve the pudding in the juice of one 16 oz can of crushed pineapple. Then add the pineapple, nuts, and about 1/2 bag of miniature marshmallows. Gently fold in cool whip and voila!!!! It’s a great side. It’s on the sweet side, but I like it as a side.
The children were lined up in the cafeteria of a Catholic elementary school for lunch. At the head of the table was a large pile of apples. The nun made a note, and posted on the apple tray: “Take only ONE. God is watching.”
Moving further along the lunch line, at the other end of the table was a large pile of chocolate chip cookies. A child had written a note, “Take all you want. God is watching the apples.”
A woman was walking along the beach when she stumbled upon a Genie’s lamp. She picked it up and rubbed it, and lo-and-behold a Genie appeared. The amazed woman asked if she was going to receive the usual three wishes.
The Genie said, “Nope … due to inflation, constant downsizing, low wages in third-world countries, and fierce global competition, I can only grant you one wish. So … what’ll it be?”
The woman didn’t hesitate. She said, “I want peace in the Middle East. See this map? I want these countries to stop fighting with each other.”
The Genie looked at the map and exclaimed, “Gadzooks, lady! These countries have been at war for thousands of years. I’m good, but not THAT good! I don’t think it can be done. Make another wish.”
The woman thought for a minute and said, “Well, I’ve never been able to find the right man. You know, one that’s considerate and fun, likes to cook and helps with the housecleaning, gets along with my family, doesn’t watch sports all the time, and is faithful. That’s what I wish for … a good mate.”
The Genie let out a long sigh and said, “Lemme see that fucking map!”
First?
Cheers Mary!!!!!!
I’ll drink to that!
Love
😆 Proud, your comments are never more than one word – to the point!!!
That’s what I do, get straight to the point! 🙂
GM all
I love what they are wearing!
I’m sure their father is thankful that he has armed guards around them for the next 4 years. 😉
What cluny said.
Thank you both 🙂 and yes I noticed the pooper bags and that the Clydesdales in the foreground used it almost as soon as he came to a stop.
You took the words right out of my mouth!
ah, the Obama women!!! se magnifique!!!!!!!!!!
Gurrrrl….you need to stop murdering the french language. It’s “c’est magnifique” 😀
well la di dah! excusez moi, s’il vous plait! 😉
how’s the thanksgiving holiday treatng you, ut?
Hahahahahahahahahahaha…….love your response. 😀
Chilling, trying to pig out, and vegging out in front of the TV. And you?

lisa combined espanol y francais, verdad?
Actually because you are talking about several ladies, you should really be saying ah the Obama women ELLES SONT MAGNIFIQUES! That would be the correct expression! LOL. I am here all week for anyone needing french lessons, ahahhahahahaha
Beautiful woman live in our White House
Ha!!! Maryl1 left me this little “gift” on the Rise and Shine thread this morning as I went off to work off some of those calories I packed on yesterday.
Something to make you “work” a little harder….Ladies Enjoy!
😯 😆 😆 😯
Thanks Mary!!!
Just spreading some holiday joy!
Congrats on 1st, Mary. And, that is such a fun video!!!!
Okay that was amazing. Best water ad EVAR!!
Helloooooo……..that’s real holiday cheer for men and women everywhere. *MEOW*
Its a really good read bout 5 minutes and it doesnt have the normal Carville b.s. toward the president TOD’ers will enjoy it!
I’m glad you said something because I have from liking Carville to not liking him…I will check out the article.
Thanks
Over the years I’ve gone from respecting some of what Carville had to say and did (1992) to considering him a hack (mostly ever since).
#FORWARD
Agree, Bob. sheesh.
Yep, Carville and Terry McCauliff…both losers.
he is a hack
Carville was one of those one who didn’t think POTUS would win re-election. Plus you are right I remember alot of the things he said about POTUS and I didn’t like them one bit.
He has all sorts of reasons why. None of them are the real reason. President Obama won re-election because he is the best candidate with the hardest workers. It all came down to character.
Frankly, Carville can kiss my ass. Broken down Skeletor with his ignorant commentary.
doesnt he remind you of Golam the cave dweller in Lord of the RIngs? Always expected those two to show up in a SNL skit maybe when the Hobbit comes out?
ut,Same to that wife of his.
ut, I am with you. Carville is a backstabbing SOB. He, plotting with that ugly wife (Matilin) who at the time worked for Dick Cheney, stabbed John Kerry in the back in 2004. From my stand point, he is to never be trusted again. He can GFHS for all I cure.
Doesn’t he look like a hairless cat? A tall skinny hairless cat.
Read that early this morning. Good article
Thanks so much Chipsticks for re-posting the video 🙂
Maryl1 – that slimming exercise video is off the chain – WOW! I love it!!! Thanks DD4O for bringing it over!
Is that a “verified” account? If it is, it’s only being left up to annoy. Let’s not let “those people” spoil our joy (and our VICTORY! – Yeehaw!).
Yes, Jacqueline, it’s the account he arrogantly created immediately upon being chosen by Mitt. Was asked to bring some attention to the fact that it hadn’t been closed. Not meant to in any way disrupt the joy!! Just a public service tweet 🙂
YOU would never “disrupt the joy,” Bob!
Thanks Chips for re-posting this; had no trouble viewing it.
I love this little tradition. It seems somehow, even more meaningful when kids and a dog in the mix.
As ever, the young ladies are beautiful and poised.
Love that, eagle eye!
Michelle and the girls look lovely this morning, and of course Bo is always handsome.
Anniebella, did First Dog Bo appear to you to be timid around the horses?
Don, I didn’t notice, let me look at the video again.
THE TIME IS NEAR US PEOPLE PERK UP! IL Obama picks up 3,028 new votes downstate MittRomney 2,981. Romney now at 47.50455% nationally: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0AjYj9mXElO_QdHpla01oWE1jOFZRbnhJZkZpVFNKeVE#gid=19 …
counting down to 47% !! he’s going to be eating that crow for the rest of his life.
And I laugh.
Alice Walton’s message of “Happy Thanksgiving and Merry Christmas” my ass. The whole Potter — I mean Walton—family is a disgrace and platitudes don’t pay the rent.
one of the walton kids donated 300,000 to Priorties USA maybe as a hedge but it was pre-eleciton. http://www.forbes.com/sites/briansolomon/2012/10/23/wal-mart-heir-donates-to-obama-pac-defying-rest-of-billionaire-family/
In total, so far this cycle these three Waltons (and spouses), have contributed more than $813,000 to political campaigns or outside spending groups in this election cycle – every dollar to Republicans.
http://jubileeblog.com/2012/11/21/walmart-and-the-welfare-state/
that’s a hoax. it was a joke site.
Everyone looks gorgeous…..but wow…wow…wow….at First Lady Michelle Obama’s skirt. Love it!
I want that skirt. It is so beautiful and so fitting for the season.
How did you guys like the boots? I love it when she wears them.
I don’t wear boots but they look nice on FLOTUS.
Carbon capture, now a reality-
http://www.carboncapturejournal.com/displaynews.php?NewsID=1056
gotta say, my reaction was huh? amazing technology explained here!
The Aussies have been on this for quite a while, I do believe. Right 99ts?
Quick question. For those who’ve seen Lincoln the movie, he died at the end right? I know he was assassinated in real life but I need to know if the movie covers that scene. I’m in a discussion with someone. Thanks.
yes.
Not sure what I think about the name of the bar but it has the best views of all the rooftop bars in the city (so they say 🙂 )

Yes, he dies at the end, then a VoiceOver of one of his speeches, then fade to black.
You guys have got to watch this. Elon James White who host “This Week In Blackness (TWIB)” just posted his wedding vows. He’s been married 7 months and it’s hilarious and sweet.
very funny
I am not trying to start anything now nor ‘am I trying to re-litigate the last post..
However, I had a thought, though it might not be a good one.
But here I go: If the 2012 Xmas Tree is delivered and over and done with, then……it is reasonable to say FOUR More YEARS, right Bobfr? That Means, Lady Chipness…..love it……thanks DF, can also be right too.
But on the other hand, Bobfr can also be correct….since the post was posted before the delivery…….making it One plus 4 more years.
Yes, I am a TODville Chicken……perhaps……….looking for a vigorous debate……any takers?
umm I don’t get it – perhaps that’s why I don’t have kids….
The baby is the marshmallow man in Ghostbusters….
They’re recreating the scene in “Ghostbusters” with the stay puft marshmellow man raiding Manhattan – which iS AWESOME! lol
Not a debate, Nena, but AFTER this delivery there are four more trees. So everybody is right.
Why is Morsi in a dunce cap? Wasn’t he working with Hillary on this?
well…the people in Egypt aren’t too happy with him….
Egyptians are unhappy with him for another reason: he’s just given himself sweeping powers in order to “speed up” the transition to “democracy”. Protests all over the country, and clashes between Islamists and anti-Morsi activists.
Yes…they’re calling him a dictator I see…
LOL!!! power to speed up democracy? LOL!! that’s scary and so ridiculous at the same time.
Overall I’m sure but was he a dunce during the negotiations to cease fire? Are Egyptians unhappy that he stepped in?
Egyptians are mad at him because he just decreed himself Pharoh!
Don’t like this one…the men are not dunces….and Morsi played a pivotal role in the negotiations…and it negates the role that the President played here….
I don’t like it either – too serious a crisis to joke about this, at least so soon.
For people like me, that missed the very excellent Michael Jackson Special last night….
http://www.hulu.com/watch/427627
Truly thank you very much. Man In The Mirror is my fave song of MJ. Freddie Mercury of Queen….his last video performing Those are the Days and Michael’s Man In the Mirror are my fave of Singers who are no longer with Us.
df, my computer shows only a blank black screen…no video
Thanks Chipsticks!
Thank you desertflower, I watch Bad25 last night, but I am enjoy watching it again..
I will never forget MJ
He was the greatest entertainer ever.
🙂
VC, PBO was in West Philadelphia when he went on his pie binge. TOO funny!!
Trying again… so you can enjoy the chuckles…maybe
Fixed! Thanks VC.
Why, thank you, Mayoress! Sometimes I gets it right and other times…… 😆
p.s. not blaming you for the pie i ate–thanking you!! how could i have forgotten to have pie today? craziness!
how could i have forgotten to have pie today 😀 😆 😆
we have the best president ever–osama bin laden gone, check; sandy victims hugged and helped, check; myth robmey trounced, check; remember everybody, eat lots of pie! check!!!
I love this so hard. Of course he’s not really talking about pie.
He’s not?
Substitute people and policies for pie. I remember when I first saw this I would watch it over and over again because it is so brillant so awesome and it demonstrates just how off the chart smart PBO truly is.
Hello TOD. I was there on 52nd street in West Philly on that beautiful October day. Had to keep hopping up and down to grab a pic. I so remember the pie story. Such a charmer 😀
oops! wrong link sry guys
fun to see that baby again!
We knew that. Bastards. But we sure showed them on election night! I would gladly stand in line another 3.5 hours to reelect Barack Obama. 🙂
Email, just in: http://www.obamavolunteers.com/clearance
OOOOOoo! Please ask them to hold a ladies Obama-Biden black jacket for me until I come over for the Inauguration.
What size darling VC? And this time you had better tell me, or I will whine all day to Chispticks! And she will make you tell me! 😆 (please let me get this for you, but hurry, while supplies last…..)
Oh, VC, they are all gone, gone. Only a few left of the Obama ’08 women’s xs or sm, but the offer stands, yes?
The State Dept’s response to Egyptian President Morsi’s power grab and lack of a Constitution.
http://www.state.gov/r/pa/prs/ps/2012/11/200983.htm
this is exactly why it is so outrageously unpatriotic for mccain to denounce pbo’s probable next sec of state–without the support and clout of the entire government, our diplomatic efforts are enfeebled. and we need a strong negotiator to partner with pbo and our allies in nudging egypt’s new government in a positive direction for the middle east as well as for the egyptian people.
McCain and Graham’s, and the other republicans’ patriotism is only party-centric. If their party is not in complete control of every branch of the government, especially the WH, patriotism is optional.
Like VC I’ve been rooting around on the internet. Posting one of the classics: Darian Dauchan “Damn You Barack Obama”
Frum: Paying People to Lie to You Has Consequences http://www.thedailybeast.com/articles/2012/11/21/paying-people-to-lie-to-you-has-consequences.html
Lawd. sigh. he really is no better is he?
And I think he came up with the “axis of evil” line, with no thought process behind it that it would matter. He’s a fool trying to look like a former fool.
“He’s a fool trying to look like a former fool.”
Seems to be another act on the wingnut welfare circuit. He wrote an e-book (I think its an ebook) on Why Romney Lost. Dude has been booking appearances after appearances and making that money.
He makes me gag!
“I guess to be expected since most of his criticism of Romney was on style not substance”
It most certainly was. I used to read his tweets/posts and get so frustrated.
I used to think that he was sticking around in an attempt to try and save the GOP, but lately….I don’t know.

-/
Again???
The regressive bunch…..doing their very best to deplete the fewer Infrastructure in transportation that remains.
This is what Repubs do…this is who they are….this is who they always will be…
Jovie, they will try to reduce government expenditure on every possible issue – making out they have some relevance.
#FORWARD
We have no excuses.
We have each other.
Let’s get it done, daily!
#FORWARD Together
amtrak, big bird–they have nothing of relevance to contribute to the conversation, so they throw these wtf-bombs in, as if anyone would take them seriously. the problem is, they’re used to commanding respect because they’re white guys in suits–not working anymore, rethugs. you’re going to have to actually do some work toward real solutions, or you’ll be gone in 2014.
They are irrelevant now and will finally notice it in 2014, when they’re back in their respective hometowns lookin’ for work!
So. Very. Sweet. Thank you for sharing your kind words with me, HZ. Love you back!
My Obama girls are simply lovely!
I am still grinning ear to ear from the events of Nov 6th.
DITTO, Byo!!!!!! Can’t stop pinching myself and saying YUP, He’s IN for FOUR MORE!!!!
#FORWARD Together
BTW, HZ, I hope you had a fabulous Thanksgiving filled with love and family.
Bo is a mess! He wants to make sure he’s on the scene to supervise the humans! Too cute!!

And, AZ, and potentially, even GA. Certainly, NC.
Hell yes, re NC. and how about TEXAS. going blue. Let’s do it.
I’m so looking forward to this. A blue Texas would be the final nail in the coffin for the GOP. And it looks like it’s inevitable.

Obama’s fault
i’ve been bothered by all the articles saying the rethugs need to reassess their strategies, or update their language, or re-make their image. that just makes me crazy. they do not need a beauty make-over (okay, yes they do, but this is a metaphor here) they need a new heart and brain.
so i think we need a catchy way to reiterate this message–don’t show us your new logo, show us your new attitude. what do you think of this:
work with dems to keep the middle class strong
or in 2014 you will be gone~
My take ~ Truthfully, I love your “Don’t show us your new logo; show us your new attitude!” Great!
Ahem….
I just knew PBO was going to get 4 more years … but … so needed Chips to wipe out the hounds of lies. The news according to TOD was the truth, the whole truth & nothing but the truth.
Bo, you chicken.

So as I waddle off to bed, I wish all you O’s a g’nite and pass the bromide.
sounds delishhhhhh….
what is watergate salad…
Yes, curious minds want to know! What IS watergate salad? 🙂
Stay tuned, I suppose, as cookemom has toddled off to bed…. Full of watergate salad, I surmise!
Also, what is asparagus loaf?
At 86, she still cooks like the old down home folk.
oh yeah top with a light coating of the crushed saltine
I don’t know, but I want some!
😆 ooh, ooh!
Some of the ingredients are also used in waldorf salad, which my grandmother always served. Never had any as good as hers!
The Pope arrives in heaven, where St. Peter awaites him. St. Peter asks who he is.
The Pope: “I am the pope.”
St. Peter: “Who? There’s no such name in my book.”
The Pope: “I’m the representative of God on Earth.”
St.Peter: “Does God have a representative? He didn’t tell me …”
The Pope: “But I am the leader of the Catholic Church …”
St. Peter: “The Catholic church … Never heard of it … Wait, I’ll check with the boss.”
St. Peter walks away through Heaven’s Gate to talk with God.
St. Peter: “There’s a dude standing outside who claims he’s your representative on earth.”
God: “I don’t have a representative on earth, not that I know of … Wait, I’ll ask Jesus.” (yells for Jesus)
Jesus: “Yes father, what’s up?”
God and St. Peter explain the situation.
Jesus: “Wait, I’ll go outside and have a little chat with that fellow.”
Ten minutes pass and Jesus reenters the room laughing out loud. St. Peter asks Jesus why he’s laughing.
Jesus: “Remember that fishing club I’ve started 2000 years ago? It still exists!”
he he 🙂 a fishing club
I love your damn jokes.
this is one of my favorite moments….I love XMAS AT THE WHITE HOUSE
Now this is how you really begin making the Waltons sweat, big time ….
If the ITWF actually begins exerting delays in Walmart’s supply chain …
