Hidee Ho O’s!!!! It’s a great getting up day all you TODdies. Madam Chips has bequeathed us once again, with this most eloquent plea to up and at ’em. All thin, in spite of her having to hobble around on a painful appendage to gather wayward pixels on our behalf.

I watch Lawrence O’Donnell last night and he does it as only he can when he talk about that Little Lying Lindsey Graham, the sidekick of that senile bitter old man John McCain.

      November 15, 2012 at 9:21 am

I saw it last night as well. It was a magnificent piece of work. Graham is trying to score points with the RWNJs who are talking about primarying him in ’14. He figures if he goes after PBO, he’ll get their respect. The sad truth is, they will respect him for it. Whether it is enough for him to win his primary remains to be seen. If he loses, the person who beats him will be even nuttier than Graham. Doubtful a Dem would win that seat. Too bad.

Lindsay is so deep in the closet that he’s delusional if he thinks the GOP would take a chance on him. No way there isn’t someone in his past/present who’s been “lifting his luggage” so to speak.

I’m referring to his reelection to the Senate. He’s up in 2014 and the RWNJs have already threatened to primary him. He has to do something to get them on his side. Going after PBO does that. the GOP has already backed him. Not sure if the other stuff matters.

    Good morning, TOD family.
Chips, take good care of yourself and stay off that ankle, get ome rest.
    Have a great day everyone.
Our President signed, sealed and delivered yesterday. While taking my early walk this morning I heard and saw helicopters getting ready for his arrival in NYC.
Bloomerg should feel like a fool after what he initially said about him coming here. We cannot wait for his man made bought term to expire.
Sure could use a third term for PBO, though. Going to make it my business to enjoy every day of these four years.
(Please God, do not let them go by too fast.)

“Sure could use a third term for PBO, though”

There’s a selfish part of me that doesn’t want him to leave the Presidency in 2017. But alas – our guy deserves to move on, have time to himself and family, rejuvenate and go where his heart takes him. 🙂

Three doctors are in the duck blind and a bird flies overhead. The general practitioner looks at it and says, “Looks like a duck, flies like a duck … it’s probably a duck,” shoots at it but misses and the bird flies away.

The next bird flies overhead, and the pathologist looks at it, then looks through the pages of a bird manual, and says, “Hmmmm … green wings, yellow bill, quacking sound … might be a duck.” He raises his gun to shoot it, but the bird is long gone.

A third bird flies over. The surgeon raises his gun and shoots almost without looking, brings the bird down, and turns to the pathologist and says, “Go see if that was a duck.”

When I saw the Lawrence O’Donnell ‘Rewrite’ yesterday I clapped and cheered. Sometimes LOD pisses me off with his know it all attitude but throughout the election, his ‘Rewrites’ have been spot on. He’s talked about the media, the republicans, Romney, the system etc. It’s a thing of beauty. When he coined the phrase “Little Lindsey Graham” and “Liar Lindsey Graham” I laughed and laughed and laughed. The way he stares at the camera with such intensity draws everyone in. He and Martin Bashir are quite fantastic in that respect.

    • November 15, 2012 at 9:54 am

He’s been great UT, he’s driven me nuts at times too but I think he really stepped up during the campaign – there were so many great pieces, loved his one challenging the Romney son to a fight! This one was outstanding, he nailed it.

People talk about FOX News deceiving people, but the mainstream networks are just as bad in distorting reality in favor of the Republicans to every extent possible. Take NBC for instance – basically “reporting” McCain’s tantrum about Susan Rice with absolutely no pushback or counter to his one-sided and dishonest attacks. NBC was essentially pushing McCain’s BS as facts.

    • 92 anniebella
      November 15, 2012 at 10:27 am

hopefruit2, you’ve notice that also. As we’ve doing the campaign, the MSM is full of alot of B.S. Every now and then you will see a Lawrence O’Donnell, but most of the MSM wants to see McCain and his sidekick Lindsey attacking the President. They don’t care one bit if they are lying.

Regarding the Romney post-election comments that Pres. Obama won because he gave “gifts” aka “free stuff” to African-Americans, Hispanics and young people; Univision has apparently been playing the remarks over and over again. Another death knell for republicans with a group they are trying to court. I knew the party was narrow minded but I figured hey, Romney has a big part in why the GOP had a catastrophic night. I figured the leaders and talking heads in the party were the ones with the problem. Oh no…..the whole party is full of narrow minded, prejudiced bigots.

I listened to a Frank Luntz GOP post-election focus group for CBS as to why they thought they lost. Every person in that focus group didn’t think the party, its policies, messages and values were to blame. Oh no….they all pretty much echoed Romney’s remarks. They all believed minorities voted for Pres. Obama because they all want “free stuff” and believe in socialism. It’s not just the leaders that are rotten in the GOP. It’s the whole bloody party and the bigots who make up the party. It was very eye opening to watch. Even though cameras were rolling, they didn’t hide their disgust of minorities and people who voted for Pres. Obama. They reveled in it.

    • November 15, 2012 at 10:45 am

Sweet of CBS to give them a platform. I hope they drown in their own bile, Luntz at the bottom of the heap. Sorry, but when you have a truly great man like PBO, I just cannot bear this horrid opposition. I need to take a lesson from our POTUS and try not to harbor resentment but it’s reeeeealllly tough.

    • 108 japa21
      November 15, 2012 at 10:45 am

And this is why 2014 is going to be different from 2010. I really believe that the Dem base is going to be much more motivated this time around, specially the Latino and AA communities.
People say Americans have short attention spans and forget things. And in some cases that is true. But they don’t forget insults and that is all the GOP is doing to them and continuing to do.

    • November 15, 2012 at 10:45 am

And they believe that the majority of people in America believe these things, and that they just didn’t go get their votes – such as sending Paul Ryan into the inner cities to tell people about poverty and becoming “empowered” through honest work. I hope they keep this up. It will be the end of their party forever, and any sane ones will have to form a new party to rescue themselves. This current GOP is embarrassing and offensive.

(CNN Headline News Anchor Kyra) Phillips said Petraus also spoke about the timing of his resignation, dismissing the right-wing conspiracy theory that his departure is somehow related to a cover up over September’s deadly attack in Libya:

“He has said this has nothing to do with Benghazi, and he wants to testify, he will testify. He has maintained to me all along that this was a personal failing…He has made it very clear that [his resignation] was about an extramarital affair and not over classified information or Benghazi.”

    Good Morning TOD Family!

My hubby is now the president-elect of our local branch of the NAACP. One of the first things that the he and the branch is dealing with is the location of our regional conference. It’s to take place in Shreveport, LA. In light of Louisiana’s leading the succession movement in direct response the election of our 1st African American President, we are demanding that our regional conference be moved. As an African American organization, we do not wish to bring revenue into a state that is openly declaring their bigotry. We will also be encouraging longstanding revenue producing African American events like the Essence Jazz Fesival to strongly consider relocating as well.

Keep talking succession and under-estimating the power of Black dollars…you think you’re broke now…just wait.
