Alright, I was not gonna watch the returns. I’m a sensitive soul and hate anticipation, but I decided to put on my big girl panties and “woman-up” and just get over it.

    let’s do this.

  6. November 6, 2012 at 6:51 pm

Having absolute faith in the might of right. PBO is the right man for the job and the role of president and leader of the free world.

so I never watch teevee punditry ever.. which makes me oblivious to all the bs- so I’m just fine Chips 🙂 Have been relaxed & hopeful alll day,.. took a little snooze- am feeling a few butterflies now as we get closer. don’t trust the repubs & the shenanigans I’ve read going on w/ PA, etc.. but I feel the news about voter turnout across the country is a sure sign that folks are firedup.. and imo that is good for our side.

  15. November 6, 2012 at 6:58 pm

I’m doing fine! Super excited! We’re having chili tonight and have lined up the fat tire and tequila for when the returns start coming in.

Okay I’m getting a little paranoid. I sent my vote-by-mail ballot a week ago, yet the country online tracker still says mine hasn’t been received. And I live in CA…

BIG REMINDER- When the VA results come in, don’t freak out at the early numbers, they come from the R areas. The later numbers will be the Obama strongholds in the North part of the state.

Talked to my sister down in Ohio she just finished four hours of canvassing, and now she’s all cozied up with the national news, I don’t see how she can stand it!

Which is why I stay away from suspenseful scenarios! If it wasn’t for PBO, I’d go to bed or go and read, then see the final results tomorrow. Please tell PBO he owes me big time!! Phew! Stomach’s a little less wobbly….for now. Thing is I know he’s going to win; they know it too, so why string it out? 🙄

Why would a campaign’s internal polls be better than any other polls?

    • November 6, 2012 at 7:36 pm

Because, if they run their organization in a disciplined, data driven manner, they amass large amounts of data, over numerous parameters. And, they have all that data from previous election cycles. For instance, they have input from every contact their staff and volunteers make throughout the entire canvassing process rather than just collect responses to queries to small samplings of respondents (polls), for starters. Think election.princeton.edu with mega$$ informatics budgets 🙂

I just voted and I’m super excited, granted I’m in reliable blue state of CA but it still feels good. It me 10 minutes to vote for PBO/Biden and Dianne Feinstein. There was also a measure by our Governor to raise funds for our schools so I voted yes on that one too. There was also some crazy measure about mandating condom use in the porn industry! Omg the things they put a ballot here!

My sister just called from Ft. Myers, Fl. again——she said their voting lines have turned into a riot there—–just showed on local news—-people have been waiting for over 5 hours to vote, they’re chanting “One Scanner!”——-which no one can believe—-they have law enforcement out there now because people are furious——many said to have given up in disgust, yelling as they leave.
There is just no excuse to treat people in this way, to treat our presidential election in this way.

That is awful, I thought my sister had it bad this morning with a three hour wait, two poll workers scanning everybody’s Drivers license and putting the data into a computer. Once the people got inside the building and saw what was going on, some of them went off.
