Look forward to tomorrow night, pops! That $20 bill keeps asking me: ” when am I going home, Lisa? When will I make my new home in Popsie’s wallet? What’s the exchange rate for me in India?” I keep trying to calm 20 down, but you’ve got her revved up with your florida prediction.

    IMPORTANT:

“At 9am Election Day, a federal judge will decide whether untested and uncertified secret software will remain on Ohio’s vote tabulation and reporting systems in 39 counties. Bob Fitrakis, in his capacity as the Chair of the Ohio Green Party, filed suit at approximately 12:30pm on Monday, November 5 against Ohio Secretary of State John Husted and Elections Systems and Solutions for their clandestine installation of uncertified and untested software. Judge Frost, U.S. District Court Southern District Court of Ohio, agreed to the hearing to be held Tuesday, November 6.

The suit seeks immediate the injunctive relief of removing the untested, uncertified software from all county tabulators.

Should there be insufficient time or resources to remove said software from the tabulators, those tabulators will not be used and all ballots will be counted by hand if either the state or federal judge grants the injunction.”

Does the Obama campaign have a position about this software? If it were installed illegally and presents a danger to the integrity of the election process, wouldn’t they have take a position and acted on it??

He only had the ‘patches’ installed in the past few days. Have ZERO doubt that the DoJ and lawyers from President Obama’s campaign are paying attention to the issue – and not just in OH. But, it is much better to call this out before the tabulation starts than after. We learned that lesson – in OH – the hard way in 2004.

Always remember Tammany Hall boss William Marcy Tweed: “As long as I count the votes, what are you going to do about it?”

The most efficient way to hack an election is not at the ballot box or electronic voting machine – its at the top of the stack, the tabulation be it in software or ink on paper 🙂

I have great skepticism about this. It is being ramrodded by the Green Party, no involvement from the Obama campaign, no public statements, nothing. At this point it is a way for the Green Party to interject itself into the election. If this were a real problem, the Obama campaign and the DOJ would have their lawyers on this case. They don’t. They are not a party to the lawsuit and to my knowledge have not filed any brief in this case. It has been known since last week.

          • November 5, 2012 at 9:12 pm

We should applaud the Green Party for stepping in not look for ulterior motives. Also, there are several hundred lawyers in OH for the Obama camp right now. There is absolutely no indication whatsoever that Obama and his team aren’t keeping an eye on things.

              November 5, 2012 at 9:26 pm

The agenda of the Naderite Green Party is to split off votes from the President. If there were any truth or any threat to victory tomorrow, there would be a huge pushback and massive legal action. I trust in the competency of the Obama campaign. I don’t trust the Green Party and their motives in this. And I don’t like fear mongering without evidence.

Everyone should move on. Everything is already under surveillance. Seriously, move on. Spend your time getting out the vote. I will be a pollworker tomorrow doing my little part. Make yourself available to stand in line for peeps. Bring water and snacks. Cheer those in line with great music. Keep peeps motivated and IN LINE UNTIL THEY VOTE!!

We do know what PBO hasn’t done. His campaign has made no statements, filed no briefs, registered no objections to this computer process. We do know that a leftist Green Party guy and his “Free Press” have made this an issue but with no proof and certainly not acting or consulting with the Obama campaign. Count me skeptical. If the Obama campaign thought this was a real threat to their victory tomorrow, do you think for a minute they wouldn’t be all over this. I just don’t like fear mongering without evidence???

            • November 6, 2012 at 1:41 am

“I just don’t like fear mongering without evidence???”

Don’t know who your accusing of ‘fear mongering’ with or without evidence but your comments suggest considerable naivete about software. And, you make a whole bunch of unfounded assumptions which you certainly can do but they put you exactly in the same category of your ‘straw man,’ and you seem not to realize that.

Evening everyone. Still recovering so had to take another day off work today. Spent my day making GOTV calls to PA. Left many messages and spoke to some people who were supportive of the President and planned to vote on Tuesday. I wanted to ask a favor of folks who can do this. If you have even a couple of hours tomorrow to make some calls to PA and to OH, please do so. The campaign can use all hands on deck. Looking forward to celebrating another victory for the President tomorrow night. I received my official invitation to McCormick Place this morning. Unfortunately, I am still not feeling well and the invitation is non-transferrable so I can’t even give it to someone else to use. Huge Bummer. #Forward

    robmey adresses his diary:

‘ As for tomorrow, I had planned to spend the better part of tomorrow savoring my victory, but the staff has evidently scheduled still more campaign appearances. Apparently these commoners need constant encouragement if they are to vote for me. When I am president, one of my first actions after adjusting the tax rates for wealthy Americans will be to form a committee to establish the best ways of further discouraging these commoners from voting. To be blunt, their minds are too scattered for it. It requires too many individual campaign events and rallies, and it could all be done far more efficiently by merely allowing only wealth units to vote, then bundling the votes from wealth units into leveraged products that would represent all the other votes. Then financial companies could purchase and sell those packages of votes, which would be quite profitable. (If my past businesses experiences have taught me anything, Mr. Diary, it is that there is very little that cannot be made more profitable by removing commoners from the process.) ‘
