NYT: This year, voting is more than just the core responsibility of citizenship; it is an act of defiance against malicious political forces determined to reduce access to democracy. Millions of ballots on Tuesday – along with those already turned in – will be cast despite the best efforts of Republican officials around the country to prevent them from playing a role in the 2012 election.
Even now, many Republicans are assembling teams to intimidate voters at polling places, to demand photo ID where none is required, and to cast doubt on voting machines or counting systems whose results do not go their way. The good news is that the assault on voting will not affect the election nearly as much as some had hoped. Courts have either rejected or postponed many of the worst laws. Predictions that up to five million people might be disenfranchised turned out to be unfounded.
But a great deal of damage has already been done….
Public outcry, with support from the courts, may eventually remove these threats to democracy. For now, those who contribute to a heavy turnout on Tuesday will send a message that Americans reject any underhanded effort to place political gain above a franchise for which people have given their lives.

Greg Sargent: Nate Cohn looks at all the most recent polling in Ohio, Wisconsin and Nevada — three states that would put Obama over 270 — and concludes:
As of today, there is not a single non-partisan survey showing Romney ahead in any of these three states.
The RCP averages show Obama leading in those states by 2.9, 5.4 and 2.7 points respectively. This comes after two polls yesterday put Obama up three and five points in Ohio. Meanwhile, Cohn notes there is evidence Obama is edging ahead in Colorado. And in Florida, an NBC/WSJ poll put Obama up two points…..
…. As always, the polls could be wrong, and Romney could still win. But the polls would have to be overwhelmingly, systematically, catastrophically wrong in multiple states for that to happen.

I didn’t read on after these first two paragraphs – they should be enough to get out every vote:
NYT: Representative Paul D. Ryan may have largely disappeared from the national spotlight down the campaign homestretch, ceding attention to Mitt Romney. But if the Republican ticket prevails, Mr. Ryan plans to come back roaring, establishing an activist vice presidency that he said would look like Dick Cheney’s under President George W. Bush.
Mr. Ryan would dedicate most evenings to dinners with senators and House members of both parties, aides said, as he steps into the role Mr. Romney promised: architect of a Romney administration’s drive to enact a budget that shrinks the government and overhauls programs like Medicare….

Haaretz: …. for various reasons, Mitt Romney has made incumbent President Obama’s policy toward Israel a hot-button issue in the campaign. One of those reasons is Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s open support for Romney, who like him enjoys the patronage of casino magnate Sheldon Adelson. Obama has been accused of taking a cool and hostile stance in relation to Israel on several issues, from Iran to Palestine. Romney promises a warmer, more supportive approach.
…. But a deeper examination …. reveals no grounds for portraying Obama in a negative light….
…. The outcome of the elections will be determined by the voters’ decision as to which of the two candidates is good for America. But if any of them are vacillating in their vote over whether Obama has been a good president for Israel, the answer is yes.

I am Loving it.
Hello TODville…..be well all.
Happy Sunday Morning, Martha, TODobots, Chips Chica! 😆 😆 Today’s prayer = #LANDSLIDE Please!
GM VC.
The nut, Jim Cramer of CNBC is predicting some over the top landslide. Jim is a Nut Cramer.
But I am with you and I am wanting a landslide.
Well, if he contributes to the new positive narrative for President Obama, I’m all for it lol !!!
Well he is predicting a 400 plus electoral Vote for pres Obama and 90 plus for Romney.
From his mouth, things come out.
Good morning everybody! Getting ready to phone bank all morning! 2 days to go until we reelect our beloved President!
Have to tip my hat to those of you who actually volunteered for President Obama. I confess to doing nothing except donating $$$. Living in a solidly blue state makes one kind of lazy.
WTG, Martha, Kreen, Nena, COS, and Magapie! Wowser, a 5 way tie! You guys are Rockin it, have a fantastic day! I’m outta here soon, will do my best to keep up (dreamer much?) 😆 {{{{{{Chipsticks}}}}}} {{{{{TOD}}}}}
5 way tie? That stamped outside the door…..was intense and it looks like the door was wide enough to accommodate 5 entrances at ONCE.
Anticipation? I will say.
I’ve been saying that the time stamps need to show 100ths of seconds….
I think in a way, it kind of does by the way the posts are made. Truly, I came in 3rd.
Martha, Martha, Martha…..was Number One. Congrats, Martha.
THIS IS FAR TOO IMPORTANT FOR “KIND OF”!! WE NEED PINPOINT ACCURACY!!!!
Top 10

Plouffe: Rove will have some explaining to do
By MAGGIE HABERMAN | 11/4/12 9:06 AM
In an interview with ABC News’ George Stephanopoulos on “This Week” this morning, President Obama’s adviser David Plouffe waved off Karl Rove’s assertion that Hurricane Sandy was a benefit to the president politically, and suggested he has a motive for the statement:
Indeed!
Perhaps pos Rove could have a wee chat with GOD’S HAND? oh wait, he would barely get close enough…… In fact…
Who is the man crying with joy? Makes me want to happy cry along with him. I cannot wait for this election to be over and we can get on the the 2nd term
Hiya OSG, it didn’t say in the caption, just supporters in the crowd at Mentor. It’s a beautiful pic. Hope all’s good with you, we’re nearly there!
Love you, Chips, and everyone else on here. You all have pulled us through the rough patches to the prize at the end. Somebody needs to run out and buy the Champagne.
The feeling is mutual OSG! Thank you.
Hi osg. Long time no see.
Hi AMK, I’ve been here every day for every post but usually don’t have time to read all the replies not to reply myself. I’ve missed that a lot.
Busy eh ? How are things looking from across the pond ?
AMK, The newsie’s over here don’t understand the US elections and can’t grasp the Electoral College votes at all. Some of them believe Fox and think R will win in a landslide. So pathetic. I am stuck with CNN, Fox and Murdoch’s Sky News and have torn every hair out of my head by this time. I will sleep twice and it will be over except for the republican whining.
Yeah, I know what you mean. Even friggin BBC has been peddling it’s still a close race bs for some time now.
Good Morning all. Just got in from playing Frisbee with my dogs this morning. Getting ready for work this afternoon then I will be working to GOTV here in FL. We have had very long lines and the numbers for Dems look good,,,,at least in South Florida. That would be Palm Beach County down through Monroe in Key West.
Have a great day!!! GOTV!
Chips, thank you for all the posts!
Is everyone watching the bin laden raid tonight at 8pm on the national geographic channel tonight? The trailer looks good
So far (those who are watching or DVRing)
HF2
Jovie
LL
Df
and me.
and me
and me lol.
Good morning hopefruit2. My husband and I will be watching Seal team 6 tonight.
And me too
I have DVR’d it. I usually watch Once Upon A Time on ABC. I am DVR..ing that too. But I will be watching MSNBC Line Up today. Just to get how they are covering what is about to happen…..on Tuesday.
I will be phone banking later….before 7:00pm ET and in the noon time, a little canvassing.
Make sure you DVR the right one:) When I set the DVR last night, I noticed that they were showing something about OBL first, THEN the Seals…which is the one I set the DVR to. I think that the OBL one is old and they may be using that one to segway (sp) the Seals documentary…..
segue.
The nyt decides two days before the election is the time to castigate the thugs about voter disenfranchisement ? Where were these assholes when we ere crying hoarse about the real voter fraud being perpetrated in various state assemblies ?
Exactly my sentiments too. They coddle wingnuts and their candidates all this while then suddenly come to Jesus. Aw naw!
Is there a way I can post a picture at TOD?
you can post via your tweet.
The blog tyrant won’t let you post pics directly here.
That’s what I thought. I was able to link to my friend’s FB page. I’m assuming she wouldn’t mind a few views from PBO supporters.
All of you HAVE to see the picture that goes with this amazing “Thank you” to the President. I wasn’t prepared and burst into tears when I slowly scrolled down after reading…..THIS is why we vote!
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/elizabeth-messina/moms-open-letter-to-president-obama_b_2001956.html?ncid=edlinkusaolp00000003
Wow, that’s stunning DF, such a powerful image. Thank you.
I seriously burst into tears. I wasn’t expecting that powerful a picture….
I went on to HP and thanked her. It was quite a profound piece. She also had a picture of her son…..though, probably when he was 5yrs or so.
A fabulous letter and picture. So moving and inspiring, and true!
OMG that was so moving. Thank you for the link DF.
that was beautiful letter and yes. Tears. Thanked her in a tweet. thx DF! 🙂

I just want to take a moment and say thank you to all those bloggers that put their heart and souls into getting out the info that all of US needed to do our jobs that the MSM NEVER did. To present factual info about the successes of programs that this administration worked so tirelessly for, that made lives better for so many Americans. People like WIW, who has assembled such great information for all of us during these last 4 years…..we love Chips for so many reasons…but WIW’s site is also a labor of love and I just wanted to encourage all of you to visit in these remaining days and pass along her site for others….Thank you, Linda for your labor of love.
You are absolutely right, df. WIW does a yeomen job.
