What his re-election means is that a generation will come of age aware of its own power, of its own ability to shape its world, hopeful, not jaundiced, raised in a world where it’s expected that we help each other as a community, rather than looking solely after the main chance.
This is what change feels like. This is what victory feels like. This is what a better world feels like. This is what justice and compassion feel like. This is what people, ordinary people, banding together to fight the powers of the world feels like. America is choosing, and unless every statistic is a lie, it’s choosing for hope, for justice, for fairness, for equality.

    Good Sunday Morning TOD

I can’t volunteer today but I just cooked a big batch of fried party wings and made a big veggie salad and fruit salad along with a case of bottle water that I’m gonna deliver to those phenomenal volunteers at OFA.

You too can help those in your area. Go to the barack obama website and find your local ofa office and have a lasagna or salad or pizza delivered to keep them energized during the homestretch.

why are we even engaging these idiots with their bullshit “enthusiasm” rethuglican meme? WE already know WE have the enthusiasm i.e: the 3 hour line I stood in yesterday, the 4 hour line my stepfather stood in last saturday, the 2.5 hour line my mom stood in on Friday and the countless other people across the states with early voting who are reporting on long lines with obvious Obama supporters making up most of the turn out. Please, please, let’s say NO to the bullshit polls and NO to the rethuglican lies about so called “enthusiasm” gap!!!!

GM peeps. For the last couple of weeks, I’ve worked really hard on ignoring everything that is not positive and just keep plugging. But there are a few things I need to get out before hitting it for the last couple of days. The Romney thing yesterday about voting for “love of country” put me over the top.

THIS from an American candidate who has spent his entire adult life avoidng in every way possible paying his share of US taxes to support this nation?

THIS from the man whose party is doing everything in its power to keep as many Dems as possible from VOTING?????

THIS from the man who wants to be Commander in Chief but who fails to even mention (once again) our troops in harms way while he campaigns and who fails to mention veterans?

THIS from the man whose party took this country to its knees and fought to have it fail further just to put their own in power?

IMO, Willard Romney is the most UNPATRIOTIC candidate to ever run for offfice, yet he talks about “love of country”. Actions speak louder than words, Mitt, and your actions demonstrate the exact opposite.

Excuse my rant:-) I do feel better, and now on to closing this thing for PBO! Fortunately, we won’t have to see how Mitten would destroy this country. FORWARD!!!!

I know how you feel, Fox. But just remember, after tuesday night, we will be vindicated!!!!!! We will have the last laugh and the media and the Willard Cult will have to suffer in absolute humiliation. Also, all those billionaires who invested in Willard will be so pissed because they got no return on their investment, we might get lucky and they turn on him. Also, maybe he’ll get arrested for corruption and all sorts of other charges people can make stick to him. Pig………. anyway, just keep on keeping on, we have right on our side and we will re-elect Barack Obama

Something I have been wondering for awhile. There are many GOP governors and state secretary of states who have been out there suppressing votes and doing whatever they can to impede voting. Are some of them term limited so don’t care about future votes or do they just think there are enough Republicans that agree with their actions that they aren’t worried about getting re-elected? If it is cuz of term limits that speaks against the idea.

Govs can be in office for 8 yrs…the amount of havoc that can be brought in those few years is incredible….

here in Pa, Corbett has slashed funding to public schools and has set in motion the move to privatize the schools….he along with the Repub controlled legislature redistricted the state so that it benefits them…they have passed a series of Alec cookie-cutter laws such as the…ultrasound abortion bill to which Corbett says that women can just “close their eyes”…the infamous Voter ID law…and even a form of the “stand your ground” law…all this in just 2 yrs….Corbett’s term does not expire till 2014…Imagine if he wins another term…MERCY!

After the election there can be no rest….because the struggle for Justice will continue…..

TOD family- help me out! I’m feeling very anxious and nervous today. I have been canvassing and making calls for the campaign and I am precinct delegate for our state Democratic Party. I feel I have done all I can do this cycle. I made the mistake of turning to MSNbc a little bit ago and saw a Reuters poll has OH tied now. That didn’t help any. I know we can still win without OH if they try to steal it, but I’m still nervous nelly…I’m sorry- someone PLEASE slap me!!!

Robin- Thank you for your help and I understand how you feel. I woke up this morning vowing not to turn on my usual progressive radio show while I get dressed since the ABC News on those shows is constantly making it sound as if Romney is winning. I also decided not to watch my usual MSNBC as they sometimes use polls giving the most favorable results for Romney depending on which show it involves. The Sunday political shows are sure to try to turn this into a horse race. I also did not click on any Yahoo News article as I opened into my email as their headlines are all favoring Romney. It is indeed scary especially knowing Tagg has a connection to ownership in the voting machines in the largest OH Dem voting district. My scariest thoughts are that if the polls show it close then the voting machines can do their switcheroo job without any suspicions evoked of foul play. I felt like this in ’08 and the election was called very quickly so I hope this is just the last minute noise and push to make this a race.

Robin please calm down. The truth is polls don’t mean nothing – good or bad. What matters is getting out the vote. You have done the most important work – canvassing etc – what tv people say doesn’t matter. I think, generally, that there has been a level of overconfidence taking hold on some of the blogs so that can add to the panic when suddenly the numbers start to change. The truth is that this is going to be a dog fight so steel yourself, deep breath and just get on with it.

Robin, last week Axelrod made a bet to shave off his musstache of 40 years if PBO didn’t take Penn, Mich, and Wisc. Does that sound like you should worry? The campaign has internals we don’t see or hear about. No way Mitt can win, even with Ohio, if PBO takes Penn, Mich, and Wisc. That doesn’t even include Iowa, where PBO is firmly entrenched according to the same polls that have you so upset. So continue to do what you’re doing with the GOTV. That’s the only poll that matters now, plus it gives you something positive to concentrate on. It’s a no drama Obama campaign again…. not too high, not too low……just ever steady, eyes on the prize.

You don’t need a slap, you need a clap for your hard work. Thanks

In a work-around to an early-voting crackdown law, the Miami-Dade elections headquarters will open Sunday afternoon to allow voters to request and cast absentee ballots in person.

The elections department announced the change Sunday morning, after the Florida Democratic Party filed a lawsuit in the wee hours seeking to somehow extend voting in Miami-Dade, Broward and Palm Beach counties before Election Day.

A spokeswoman said the department made the decision Saturday night after seeing such long early voting lines — the last voter wasn’t checked in until 1 a.m. Voters in line at 7 p.m. Saturday were allowed to vote.

Hi everyone. I am so fired up I am bursting at the seams.
Yesterday I made lots of calls to PA and it was truly gratifying. Everyone I spoke with was 100% for our PREZ.
A lot of them had concerns about voter id. I was delighted to set them straight that the laws were not
in place and emphatcally told them not to be intimidated by anyone asking for photo id.

My most touching call was talking to a lady who was sooo excited about and loved our prez but she was sad
that she was not going to be able to vote because she was disabled and did not have a ride to her polling place.
Well that choked me up and i told her i would get right back to her once I got her a ride. I am in NJ so could’nt
offer to take her. I sent a message on OFA Dashboard as well as calling OFA NJ. Eventually they were good enough
to get back to me , gave a number to call to set up transportation for this lady. As I said to the person
who answered the phone,PBO says EVERY VOTE counts that’s why I am pursuing this.
The happy ending is that when I called back the voter in PA,she is all set up with a ride and very happy
to be able to vote foe PBO. That made my day.

Will be phone- banking with Move.on.org today at someone’s house. Tmrw and Tuesday will be at my usual DNC office
since they called to say power has been restored. FORWARD. WE. GOT. THIS.

Just got through to my first batch of phone banking. Was calling Pennsylvannia. Lots of answering machines, so I left messages but everyone else I spoke to was a strong Obama vote, wooohoooo! One man isn’t sure he can vote cause of his work hours driving a bus…that just isn’t right. Every worker needs to be allowed time to vote! Oh well…Thanks for the tips guys. Going back for more phone banking now!

That’s why it is important to have an early voting time of 7-10 days depending on the state size in every state. Also. Too.Many pooling booths.

In India, it has been customary now to split polling dates in each state into 3 o 4 days spread over a week. This allows our election commission use its resources better.

Also, all prediction polling is banned a week before the elections.

Happy Sunny Sunday day to all my O’s!!! What another great getting day eh TODdie folks!!! Time to put your favorite beverage on chill and get those little baby hot dog thingies ready for the toothpicks, it’s gonna be celebration bar none on Tuesday night. I’m trying to decide if I should go hang around McCormick Place where PBO and the crowd will be or stay home and just do the crazy leg dance in front of the TV machine.

My political take today of the countdown is number 3 which is that I salute the voters in the swing states, especially those who have to stand in the very long lines. I tip my hat to all the volunteers who are fighting to the bitter end. This has been a long journey and I’m so in awe of everyone who remain as dedicated now as they were 4 years ago. FORWARD y’all!!!!!

My update for the day. Still hacking but feeling energized by the calls I made today to IA and PA. For those who are feeling anxious, I humbly suggest that you unplug from the media and stop following every single poll as though it tells you the story of this campaign. We are now at the stretch of GOTV and it is cliche but true that the polls don’t matter anymore. We need all hands on deck. I am livid that I can’t join my fellow Obama supporters in doorknocking but I am going to keep making these calls until my voice gives out. Let’s keep our eyes on the prize. Thanks to everyone doing work to make Tues a successful night for the country. Peace to you all…
