Good Morning Chips and my TOD family. Beautiful Sunday to all of you. It is such a beautiful morning out west. Joyful day to be alive. I hope BWD got some rest last evening, rather this mornings.

I am up. House open up, and sun coming through. Checked my calling and will be doing that after I have my Sunday Service. I need my word and some great gospel music today, for sure.

I feel a sweetness in the air this morning. I will report on any great news after the service. People are fired up. Remember to have some meditations moments today and lift POB and the entire team up today for strength, and wisdom and protection.

We Can and Will Do This. (((((((((((((((((( Love you all so much))))))))))))))))))HZ

I just wanted to post this over here….I think it’s important to acknowledge sites like WIW’s site that has been invaluable….and another true labor of love.

I just want to take a moment and say thank you to all those bloggers that put their heart and souls into getting out the info that all of US needed to do our jobs that the MSM NEVER did. To present factual info about the successes of programs that this administration worked so tirelessly for, that made lives better for so many Americans. People like WIW, who has assembled such great information for all of us during these last 4 years…..we love Chips for so many reasons…but WIW’s site is also a labor of love and I just wanted to encourage all of you to visit in these remaining days and pass along her site for others….Thank you, Linda for your labor of love.

WIW is a powerhouse and I can’t thank Linda enough for putting her heart and soul into it every day. And thanks to everyone here for delivering a constant flow of useful information for the rest of us to disseminate. We are BETTER TOGETHER.

    • November 4, 2012 at 11:23 am

So good of you to recognize all of Linda’s efforts at WIW, df. She has created a trove of valuable, easily accessed information.

Thank you for putting this in words, Desertflower. I can’t tell you guys the number of times WIW helped me with information, especially when I wanted to include video clips with my TY tweets (like the #ACA ones). Linda did a wonderful job creating a format that I found easy to follow and I so respect the fact that she has always been focused on the positive. So, Linda, your labour of love has been very helpful and inspiring – THANK YOU!!! (ps. I know you’ve often said you don’t share to get thank yous, but we thank you anyways! 😉 😀 😀 ) I’m praying you’ll get a #LANDSLIDE thank you on Tuesday!

And Df, while we are acknowledging invaluable sites, I personally want to flag Smartypants who has often put ‘stuff’ in a way that appealed to my mind. I’m a goofball, but I truly appreciated that aspect of her site.

WIW WSMO (Web Service Modelling Ontology) Implementation Workshop
      WIW What’s It Worth?
      WIW Within Wafer (variation)
      WIW Whatever It Was
      WIW Woodland-in-Waverly (neighborhood; Nashville, TN)

      Somehow I don’t think it’s any of these…

Not sure how it works in FL, but I voted in-person absentee here in VA yesterday. I went into the county office, filled out the absentee application — I needed an excuse as to why I couldn’t vote on Tuesday (I’m doing voter protection) — handed the application in, and voted on the spot.

It basically cuts out the mailing out of the absentee ballot and mailing it back in.

          • 57 amk for obama
            November 4, 2012 at 10:52 am

What’s the difference between this and early voting ?

            • 59 PoliticalJunkessa
              November 4, 2012 at 11:05 am

Early voting is simply a longer time period of voting — more days to simply show up at the polls and cast your vote, no excuse or paperwork required. In my state, absentee voting requires an application stating why you won’t be able to vote on Election Day because there is no period of early voting, per se.

Early voting = many voting days; Absentee voting = getting around the fact that there is only one voting day.

              • 60 amk for obama
                November 4, 2012 at 11:09 am

Gotcha. But FL does have early voting, so why an in-person absentee ballot ? You are there already, might as well cast your vote.

                Am I boring you ?

                • 61 PoliticalJunkessa
                  November 4, 2012 at 11:18 am

Ha, not you’re not boring me. 😉

I think the situation in FL is that technically early voting ended yesterday. This is a NEW provision added for today and tomorrow — a provision that is more similar to my state’s absentee voting. Perhaps there are some people who couldn’t make it to the early voting period or had to leave due to the long lines and they still wouldn’t be able to vote on Tuesday. I’m assuming they will have to present a reason for not being able to vote on Tuesday, fill out an application and then vote on the spot.

I read where Prez Obama purposely limits his choices in wardrobe so he does not have to make many choices. It psychologically has to do with saving his mind for really important decisions. There have been studies on how making many small decisions impacts making large important decisions so he purposely limits his small decisions. Sounded good to me, but then I also remembered that Michelle said PBO never really cared much about what he wore. Remember the photo of him during his Community Organizer days with his feet up on his desk and there was a hole worn in the bottom of one of his shoes? Case in point. I am into the love of comfortable clothing and shoes myself knowing when they look a bit ragged they are at their utmost comfort.

A judge has ordered Orange County to open up early voting for four more hours.

The Florida Democratic Party filed lawsuits seeking to get four counties to offer more time for voting before Election Day.

The lawsuit filed in Orange County asked for additional time because an early voting site in that county was shut down for several hours while authorities investigated a suspicious package.

The judge has ordered that the Winter Park early voting site be opened for four hours on Sunday afternoon.

The party has a separate federal lawsuit seeking more early voting time in Palm Beach, Miami-Dade and Broward counties. Those counties were dealing with waits of up to six hours on Saturday, the last scheduled day of early voting.

Gov. Rick Scott refused requests this week from Democrats to extend early voting.

Eternal vigilance — voter suppression is always mutating: In King County, Washington, GOP volunteers are going door to door offering to take people’s ballots and promising to them in a drop box.

King County elections officials say that while this practice is not illegal, they strongly discourage people from giving their ballots to anyone but USPS and official ballot drop locations.

Eleventh-Hour GOP Voter Suppression Could Swing Ohio

By Ari Berman on November 4, 2012 – 9:35 AM ET

    —————————–

Cleveland—Ohio GOP Secretary of State Jon Husted has become an infamous figure for aggressively limiting early voting hours and opportunities to cast and count a ballot in the Buckeye State.

Once again Husted is playing the voter suppression card, this time at the eleventh hour, in a controversial new directive concerning provisional ballots. In an order to election officials on Friday night, Husted shifted the burden of correctly filling out a provisional ballot from the poll worker to the voter, specifically pertaining to the recording of a voter’s form of ID, which was previously the poll worker’s responsibility. Any provisional ballot with incorrect information will not be counted, Husted maintains. This seemingly innocuous change has the potential to impact the counting of thousands of votes in Ohio and could swing the election in this closely contested battleground.

And the whiny left couldn’t be bothered to vote in 2010 or decided to ‘send a message’.

the message: redistricting and the takeover over of state govt’s by the tea party. Some ‘principles’ these alleged progressives had.

My favorite addition to his stump speech is when he talks about how he and Plouffe are now just props or are irrelevant because it’s so fricking true. In this part of the campaign, the people that matter are the OFA volunteers, then on election day, the people who will matter are the voters who make the decision to vote for PBO. That is democracy in action. it’s like a chain: PBO inspires OFA volunteers, the volunteers go work for him by contacting voters, giving them the information they need in order to decide, registering voters, and then the voters make the choice. I loved that he pointed that out last night and then again this morning because it’s just so fricking true. He’s so honest, I’m stunned sometimes about how stunned I am when I realize that PBO really is telling the truth and that he does it all the time. Good grief.

His honesty is what makes me an obot. I have been into politics for over 3 decades not only in my country but in other countries too and had become totally disgusted & disillusioned with their corrupt and lying nature. PBO was a total breath of fresh air for me.

And frankly, I think it his honesty that is making the difference right now. Despite the slow recovery, a majority of americans still view him as a good man who tries to do the right thing. The challenge has been to prevent people to go for Romney because he’s a “businessman”, even if they don’t like the guy. In the last week, we have indications that the challenge has been met. America will do the right thing.

Folks, an EPIC diary on reasons to vote for Barack Obama and reject Romney. 500 (!) items, with sources, links, etc. First 200 items are about Romney’s flip-flops, lies, and bad policies. The rest : list of good reasons to vote for Pres. Obama. It’s at the Orange but you just have to look at it when you have time!! So much material there to use to convince people who are still on the fence, and maybe convince soft Romney supporters …

CROCODILE TEARS ABOUT “REVENGE” EPITOMIZES ROMNEY’S CYNICISM AND CONTEMPT FOR VOTERS

Mitt Romney insults the American electorate one last time

    By Greg Sargent

    ———————————-

Yesterday in Springfield, Ohio, the crowd listening to Barack Obama booed when the President brought up Mitt Romney and the Republican Congress. That prompted Obama to say:

“No, no, no — don’t boo, vote. Vote! Voting is the best revenge.”

Romney promptly pretended to be very outraged by this. He told his supporters:

“Yesterday, the President said something you may have heard by now. That I think surprised a lot of people. Speaking to an audience, he said, ‘voting is the best revenge.’ He told his supporters — voting for revenge. Vote for revenge? Let me tell you what I’d like to tell you. Vote for love of country.”
Romney picked up that refrain a second time:

“Did you see what President Obama said today? He asked his supporters to vote for revenge — for revenge…Instead, I ask the American people to vote for love of country.”

Of course, Obama was only encouraging people to vote. He was telling them that the real way to express opposition to GOP policies is to vote against them, rather than to merely boo them.

First, it was Miami/Dade extending early hours- then it was just orange County judge authorized early voting from 1-5, then it was all of Florida…??
WTF is going on? If I get the wrong information voters will be pissed.

GM peeps. For the last couple of weeks, I’ve worked really hard on ignoring everything that is not positive and just keep plugging. But there are a few things I need to get out before hitting it for the last couple of days. The Romney thing yesterday about voting for “love of country” put me over the top.

THIS from an American candidate who has spent his entire adult life avoidng in every way possible paying his share of US taxes to support this nation?

THIS from the man whose party is doing everything in its power to keep as many Dems as possible from VOTING?????

THIS from the man who wants to be Commander in Chief but who fails to even mention (once again) our troops in harms way while he campaigns and who fails to mention veterans?

THIS from the man whose party took this country to its knees and fought to have it fail further just to put their own in power?

IMO, Willard Romney is the most UNPATRIOTIC candidate to ever run for offfice, yet he talks about “love of country”. Actions speak louder than words, Mitt, and your actions demonstrate the exact opposite.

Excuse my rant:-) I do feel better, and now on to closing this thing for PBO! Fortunately, we won’t have to see how Mitten would destroy this country. FORWARD!!!!

excellent rant, foxfire! another item: this is the man who evaded the draft and the vietnam war in paris, france. how has he managed to etch-a-sketch all this history? how can he be considered a serious candidate for president, much less a serious threat to the excellent pbo? it’s frustrating and infuriating and frightening to see him so close. but he’s not going to win it!! FORWARD!
