Chips, I humbly ask of you: On election day itself, could you (if you have the time and energy) post the some inspirational Obama campaign music videos on a “sticky” type thread to keep TODers (and lurkers) upbeat and fired up for PBO throughout the day? E.g. of such videos are Forward, One more term (Broadway), There’s no one as Irish as Barack O’Bama (2012 edition).

Are you guys talking about ‘Call your zeyde’? I liked it – maybe because **I** can’t sing. Actually though, what I particularly like was the underlying message (Yeah, yeah, I’m always getting underlying messages šŸ™„ ) – you don’t have to be a terrific singer to vote or encourage others to vote, you just have to be sincere and get involved. The zeyde seemed ‘real’ to (non-singer) me. šŸ˜†

Here’s another idea, Chipsticks: make a quicklike YouTube of YOURSELF, singing and doing whatever it is you do so well…. Post that for us, and I KNOW we’ll stay fired up(we will be anyway!) what do y’all think of this idea? Just imagine…… šŸ˜†

ELECTED OFFICIALS WORKING TOGETHER FOR GREATER GOOD OF AMERICANS

Picture of the Day: President Obama and Chris Christie Working Together

    By: Sarah Jones

    ——————————-

As we mourn for those whose lives were lost in Sandy and those who lost their homes and businesses, we can take heart that right now, there are elected officials working together for greater good of Americans.

It is shameful that this is news, and even worse, that as these two men and all of our first responders and helpful citizens work together as patriots, some Republicans just can’t let go of their pettiness. Even now, Bush’s FEMA director is still criticizing the President for being competent while Fox News desperately tries to distract from the President’s steady leadership by politicizing yet another tragedy.
    .
    .
If you can’t come together in times like these and you can’t manage to be a grown up for a few days, you probably don’t deserve to hold elected office. This means that most of the Congressional Republicans should be voted out November 6th for putting defeating Obama over helping struggling Americans. Country first, over politics.

    Are we getting closer to

    “Collective consciousness awakening”

Can we see clearer that we are the creators

    Of global calamity catastrophic events

It all starts with though, word, deed

yes living out our light – love = sharing

Or acting out our darkness – fear = greed

    It’s not a matter of blame-shame game

Instead it is a divine opportunity for all and everyone

To ascend into co-creating heaven on earth

Or descend into what we see now

All around us ( Sandy, tsunami , Katrina )

Sisters and brothers all over this beautiful planet

We are experiencing a irreversible shift

    In human behavior

    Compassion is the new currency

    Generosity is the new cash

The intergalactic bank of light and love

Will never run out of funds

May we spend 15 minutes 3 times a day

Crystallizing our thought ( being one with our Christ consciousness )

    To help heal

life, people, animals and our beloved planet

    Peace

“None of this ought to have been surprising, exactly, if you have been attentive to the polls rather than the pundits”

  14. November 1, 2012 at 11:09 am

      • November 1, 2012 at 11:37 am

To be the object of such vast hate just because one is trying to help others is, for me, the overarching message of how deranged a faction of our society is, 99. We know why they hate our President – he’s not ‘white.’ But, that they are so steeped in that hate that they went after a Governor simply doing his job should be a revelation Gov Christie, himself, and others should ponder for the remainder of their life.

        We will prevail.

Christie was one of them just a couple of weeks ago. I appreciate Christie working with the President now – that’s how it should be. But, I can’t forgive the hurtful things he said, and the insults. I can’t forgive the mocking. And the bullying. And I remember how he was in Disney World during the first storm, and attacked people for questioning his judgement when he got back. He’s flying right today, and I commend him for it, but he’s got a lot to make up for. I really appreciate President Obama and his ability to forgive and forget, and to rise above the smallness of those around him.

Theo don’t hold onto the hurt because our President does not. We can’t afford to; too much work to attend to. All those that we mistreat we have to revisit with them. You don’t want to be anybody’s foot stool. Fill your heart with goodness as I know that you do. NO ONE with evil intent have any business in your space.

            G. Christie is a perfect example. He had to revisit his words.

[RE: that Spanish ad Williard is running in FL is kicking him in the ass]:

But at least one Cuban reader, Rosa Hombredela, was outraged and said in an email that the ad is evidence of “corrupt politics. True, people like my father and mother helped build what the city of Miami is today, but, it is unfortunate but also true, that the same infectious style of politics that put Castro in power has germinated in Miami making it a banana republic. I was born in Cuba, raised in the United States, I’m a woman, a Republican and I voted yesterday for President Barack Obama. Proud to say so.”

      Comment at this article:

Che and Chavez and Obama? In what universe? Che was killed in 1967. Obama was 5 years old and Chavez was 13. Pray tell when and where these three walked together? These people are hoping that nobody figures out that the time line is not there. This attempt to rile the Cuban and Venezuelan voters with tragic historical wounds is nothing more than another cheap attempt to divide the Hispanic community.

‘Bittersweet’, if I step back and look at it as being the first of the last set of speeches in PBO’s last campaign, but **I** don’t. Theo, I’m not going to start my mind along that route, thank you very much. **I** am going to FULLY ENJOY every minute of every day that the President is serving in this role until he is not serving anymore. In other words, I ain’t thinking of 2016 while I have Barack Hussein in the White House. I want to be able to appreciate all that the country will accomplish under his guidance over the next four years. 2016 will come soon enough then I’ll think of bittersweet, and who knows, I might not even be around for it. So, not nibbling at today’s joys in anticipation of tomorrow’s sorrows šŸ˜‰

We will savor the next four years and when it’s done we will just sit back and watch him soar to greater heights, if there is any greater heights for him to reach he will reach it.
It will be fascinating watching him take the next phase of his life asone of the greatest leaders, ever. And, when people in school are learing about Presidents his name will be called as the 44th and 45th President of the United States and Romney will be Rom-who?
                    .

Good morning, TOD! I’m in a mellow Obama mood, but “canadabarb4obama” is stuck on a RWNJ cruise ship, reminding us of the “pockets” in our country who are insane. Here’s her message for today, which she was unable to post herself on TOD, reminding us of the good wishes we have around the globe, in getting President Obama re-elected:

“Leaving Boston; unable to get to New York; going to Norfolk, Va instead. Please keep me in your prayers while I continue to put up with the horribly racist, ugly in spirit republikkkans on this ship. Found 2 dems yesterday and one of them works in health services, insurance side…said once people realize how good Obamacare is, there will never be any turning back. The last cruise we went on,I dressed up one evening and went to the fancy dining room. Big mistake. They assign you seats and with my luck I was seated at a table with some of those rednecks. No teeth or one tooth, in casual dingy wear although they expressly told you no jeans, no shorts, off, no sandals and a jacket for men.
This one asshole looked at me and my lovely beautiful daughter and decided to “take set” on us. My daughter set him straight. She and I stood our ground.
One of them said he was dying to get his country back and get back his White House. I told him 2016 will come fast enough. He can wait. The whole table went quiet and the fool sputtered and coughed. His wife tried to get him to drink some water and the water couldn’t or wouldn’t go down. I just sat there, ordered dessert and watch the fool turn red.
Left them there and never went back to the fancy dining room. Floating trailer parks are what these cruises are.

I can’t manage the long walks through airports anymore. So we go on cruises and if there is a three day lapse we go to a hotel and them get back on the ship just before it’s time to leave. Bermuda is beautiful so we do that cruise often. And we stay out of the KKKians way. If you stay out of th e casino and go eat at odd times it’s like you don’t have to see them.

Lovin’ the “they need a champion” theme. Haven’t heard it before and it’s awesome. And the “We’ve come too far..” points, too.

When that marina owner yesterday asked him to promise her that she would be OK, and he looked deep in her eyes and said, “I promise”, I think that stirred something in him that was the genesis of him seeking office in the first place. He’s here for all of us. And he’s a fighter. He’s not going to let Mitt steal this election – not without a fight. So many people are depending on him, and many don’t even know it. I couldn’t help but wonder how many of those people who are now relying on FEMA were planning to vote for Romney before Monday? I couldn’t help but wonder how many of them thought that the 47% didn’t refer to them one whit, or who thought that the “we built it” nonsense of the GOP convention was a good idea. i wonder how many of them are glad that President Obama was residing in the Oval Office when this hurricane came calling, and who know that things really are going to be all right because he keeps his promises.

We’ve come to fare to turn back now. We’ve come to far to let our heart go faint…

    LOL!:

“Real estate mogul and ardent birther Donald Trump has been asked to stump for Mitt Romney in the final week before Election Day. Trump will be doing robo-calls in Ohio, North Carolina, Wisconsin, and Florida — crucial battleground states. The campaign also reportedly asked him to do campaign stops, which may conflict with the taping of his show, ‘Celebrity Apprentice’.ā€

Dynamite as always. I think we found some of that missing enthusiasm, eh?

I always watch CSPAN’s feed at the end because they continue to show the Prez shaking hands while CNN always cuts their feed off.

I absolutely LOVED that speech. It was about big things. It was about our accomplishments, about what makes America great, about what makes us stronger, about a vision where everyone is treated fairly and equally, about where we need and want to go over the next four years. Pres. Obama’s America is a great one indeed.
