I’m one of those “bedwetters” that Plouffe sites. I wake up in a panic, can’t eat (I have lost 10 pounds the last 3 months), and just reading
websites with negative polls/remarks gets my heart racing. Awful feeling, I was never like this in the past (I’m 57 years old). Still trying to figure it out. Part of it is knowing how much our President could of done in transforming this country, but was obstructed by the right and left…and now its about Romney/Ryan…liars that truly make me sick on a human level. We teach our children to not lie and cheat…but in the real world? And the media (our side too) stands back and says nothing. That is what is frustrating , they feed the narrative and so many people are to busy, lazy or willfully ignorant to know what they are being fed our bullshit sandwiches. And as the saying goes…we are what we eat. Take care BWD.

          • October 31, 2012 at 1:59 am

I’m the same. At this point, nothing else really matters in my life. Which is one reason why I want this thing to be over, so maybe I can go back to live without Twitter. 🙂 Take care too, mate.

This is a Herculean task…but as the PBO would say…the challenge will be met…The President will be re-elected…

but if there is a leeson to be learned from this fight is that the fight for Democracy…the fight for Justice …the fight for Women’s Rights…the struggle for workers’ rights is never really over….neighborhood coalitions that have been forged…have to be maintinaed…those GOP laws against women…workers… voter restrictions have to be over turned…we cannot go business as usual…..

I think it was the horrible hurricane on the east coast, and the fact I live in a very repub area of Colorado. Anyway, I am better today. I will be out this afternoon knocking doors again. I do wonder why so many people just don’t care. They don’t care that 32 million Americans now have healthcare, the elderly will be taken care of, students will be able to attend college, and so much more. Anyway, I come here for inspiration. I’m sorry but can goods is not what the folks need. This was just stupid of Mitt Romney, why not ask some of his rich donors to write a million dollar check for Red Cross. If they can write ten million dollar checks for Mitt, why not ten million dollars check to the Red Cross. Then they can buy food already prepared to give to the people. Mitt campaign could have ask Red Cross what are the things they need?.But this wasn’t about helping the people, it was about some photo op for Mitt, and a under handed way of him keeping his campaign event in Ohio. The dam media is so stupid to try to tell us that he cancel his campaign events.

Something really lovely to lighten up things…

Mrs Obama was on the Dr. Oz show a couple of weeks ago and for some reason the only part of a most fun and informative show with a most amazing and spectacular woman and First Lady was reduced to just one teeny piece where she teaches Dr. Oz to dance…

Yet every segment of this show was chock-ful of fascinating, fun, incredibly positive, revealing and riveting tidbits with a clearly smitten and bowled over Dr. Oz…

Everyone should watch the entire thing (broken into segments with pesky ads at the start of each)…

She made a brilliant and effortless connection between ordinary Americans in their various roles as parents etc. and the all important ACA…

She put Dr. Oz to shame during a segment where she shows off how she stays fit while campaigning…

She also introduces the new and improved school lunches and has the sweetest kids try them out and also ask her the most terrific personal questions…

Great column in NY Daily News by Stanley Couch. an excerpt:
The advancement of women — from Hillary Clinton in Washington to Marissa Mayer in Silicon Valley — is ample proof of what can be done when this nation decides to put bigotry right where it belongs.

Of course, we can never forget the existence of prejudice. It is a living thing, a clever disease, and it will remake itself to survive and fight the dishonorable battle on another day.

That’s why, next Tuesday, radical Republicans will be surprised if they think American women will let them get away with what they have said and what they believe: about rape, contraception, equal pay. They can deny all they want, but it is all on the public record, the crazy statements of Todd Akin, Richard Mourdock and all the rest. Hiding behind their faith, these zealots have sought to take away the very rights women fought for throughout the long, hard decades of the 20th century.

In this camp are also Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan — no matter how much they deny it. They intend to lead a party of the 19th century, or maybe even the 18th, but certainly not a modern, broad coalition. There is no room for that on the right.

Axe was very good. He said he was content with the state of the race going into the next 6 days. Since this is Morning Joe, they had to try to find something bad about the polls, so they asked him why PBO was losing with independents and he answered well in my opinion. He said it depends on how people identify themselves but if they are truly independent, they will break slightly toward the President on election day ( which to me underscores what I’ve been saying for a long time, that a lot of so-called independents are Republicans masquerading as “independents” because they, too, are ashamed of being associated with the disaster that is the GOP).
But no matter any angle they tried, Joe had to keep reading on the air the newest polls that showed PBO with leads in OH, IA, MN, MI, PA and tied in FL and VA.
Oh, Axe and Joe made a bet:
If PBO loses either Minnesota, Pennsylvania or Michigan, Axe has to shave his mustache on the show.
If PBO wins either Florida or North Carolina, Joe has to grow a full mustache/beard.

I say that’s unfair to Axe but I’m confident he will not lose this bet.

            • October 31, 2012 at 10:08 am

Its a horrible bet. Why didn’t Axe say if PBO wins either Florida or NC, Joe has to grow a full mustache/beard….like Tom Hanks on Cas Aaway. Meaning he has to go get lost on a deserted Island somewhere and don’t comeback until he grows a full mustache/beard.

Having my car repaired today – don’t know if I can log in on this computer. Looking forward to one more weekend in New Hampshire. It’s looking great there, Last Saturday’s rally in Nashua broke all the records. People answering door knocks talk more about all the folks they know who are voting for the President than about their own choice – that is taken for granted. Of course, I am still nervous about the election -but just as in 2008, I am convinced that even people who don’t follow politics are getting it. It is so clear who is on their side.

Excellent LTE making the case for dumping crazy RWNJ Ia. Rep. Steve King and electing Christie Vilsack. King, in addition to being a birther and a racist—-he warned of the “optics” of electing Obama, said terrorists will be dancing in the streets—–has made some of the most preposterous statements ever uttered by a politician anywhere. He said Ia. needs to increase its fertility rate—-to produce more workers, suggested Iowans cover their car windows and make car babies. Told h.s. students last week states should be able to make contraceptives a crime. Said global warming is a hoax perpetrated by liberal scientists. He’s the proponent of the electrified fence at the border, said it works with cattle; also said Americans need to wean themselves from fruits and vegetables so we didn’t need Mexican farm workers. He’s a co-sponsor of the “forcible rape” bill. He needs to be booted as far away from our govt. as possible.

Axelrod is hilarious. He just said on Morning Joe that he will come on the show and shave his mustache if Romney wins PA, MI, and MN on Nov. 6th. And he got Joe to agree that if Pres. Obama wins either NC or FL on Nov. 6th, Joe will grow a beard since they won’t have anything of substance to discuss on the show on Nov 7th after Pres. Obama wins reelection.

Axe was pretty confident. Our internals must be gooooooood.

Thank goodness we had Pres. Obama who pushed hard for a stimulus. Our GDP is growing, unemployment is going down. The Euro Zone on the other hand…..not so much.

Beautiful video Chips ~ I love it, thank you!

Must share this awful headline this morning on MSN front page… am not going to read the article, but cannot fanthom the stupid it took to write the headline:

The president will skip formal campaigning to visit New Jersey. Challenger Mitt Romney, showing respect for Sandy’s casualties, planned three Florida events.

WTF does that even mean?? More propaganda.

You are too kind Lisa – it means the media is being conned by superpacs and Romney staff – they will discover to their embarrassment next week that they can be fooled – but over 50% of the voters, and ALL of the swing states – know better.
