Good morning all. I finally heard from my son and his girlfriend at 11:00 last night. Big storms but they have power inland from NY coast. Snow is expected to batter them now. They are survivors! They are huge President Obama supporters. Prayers for all those on the East Coast. I know what they are going through having lived on the the East Coast of Florida for the last 6 years. The worst part is…so much news coverage with numbers for them to contact if they need help……they have NO power and don’t hear these messages.

Good Morning my dear Chips and TOD Family. Thank you for this family and this haven here. Blessings to all.

Proud, so grateful that your family members in NY are fine. ((((((Prayers of love to you))))))HZ

Candles lit this morning. It is early morning on the westcoast. Grateful to be alive on my 68th. So many did not make it this morning, so I rise to give thanks for this precious gift. I also have already lit my candles for all our families all across this nation.

I cried out to God for mercy and wisdom for our beautiful president. He needs our “goodness of energies” going forth on his behalf.

Let us love each other here and pass on the gift of our “better angels that are within each of our souls.” I will share this with my TOD Family on this day that I read during my quiet/loud time :
“A good heart and a good head are always a formidable combination.” Nelson Mandela.
We know God has give POB both, so we give thanks this morning for this beautiful soul in our midst.

(((((((((((((((((((((((((( Hugs for all who are hurting this morning and prayers for healing.))))))))))))
I love you all so very much. HZ

I’ve always said the same thing about that. Brown may not have had the experience but he knew a bad storm when he saw one and there’s not much you can do when your boss is giving you the okey doke. Bush sat at that briefing and lied to everybody saying he had it covered.

Let me just say this and get it over with. Romney is pure unadulterated slime. I cannot stand this man. He is worse than the scum on the bottom of my shoe. I want to beat him into oblivion next Tuesday. If I never see his or his families slimy faces again it won’t come soon enough.

I am off again today and I will be making calls to PA, OH, FL and NV to GOTV.

Please dear God don’t let this man anywhere near our White House!!!!

    • October 30, 2012 at 9:17 am

I got no hate for Romney. I just don’t want him anywhere near the White House and that includes on a bus tour. He is not now or ever been qualified to be President.

Let us keep our spirits moving FORWARD for POB. I plan to call today after my hair stylist comes out to see me and cut my hair. She is such an angel sent to me. Pray for me as well.

      @Donna Dem 4 Obama,

You must be my twin. I hate to say it, but Romney has made me squint my eyes at Mormons. Do they tolerate such out and out lying in their politicians? I know Reid is also a Mormon, so I’m not going to stereotype all Mormons just because of lying Mitt.

We’ll see if Americans are okay with electing a flip flopping millionaire and outsourcing liar who cares about nothing but lowering taxes for himself and his friends.

Ct. daughter reports they were fortunate to not lose power. She said she thinks all the tree trimming and improvements to power infrastructure after last year’s Irene helped. But still half her neighborhood is without power as are kids’ schools and offices of both her and husband. Ct. shore took the big hit in their state—-lots of devastating destruction. She said their yard is a mess with branches and debris, but that can be cleaned up. Thought it was a great when her whole neighborhood scrambled on Sunday and arranged an early Trick or Treat for the kids, who missed out on Halloween last year because of the storm. Neighbors worked frantically to turn their garages into their traditional “haunted houses” etc., parties arranged etc.

GM all. Again prayers and thoughts to those in the path of Sandy. And, if anything, this shows even more how important these next 7 days are. When you hear Chris Christie praising the President and FEMA, you know just how effective the government’s response is.
And this election may well be one of the most important ever, not purely for those of us living in this country, but for the entire world.
Due to personal circumstances I have not been able to do much lately, but I will be able to at least do some calling on Sunday and Monday.

From the Plain Dealer News Editorial Board in Ohio:

Flailing in Ohio, Romney rolls out Jeep ploy: editorial

Mitt Romney is desperate to convince Ohio voters that he’s the candidate most committed to the U.S. auto industry — no matter how much confusion he must sow to do it.

The Romney campaign clearly is being hurt by the fact that Chrysler and GM were saved by the decisions of President Barack Obama. So Romney and his surrogates claim that Obama essentially followed their blueprint for the rescue or that it really wasn’t a good deal — because some plants and dealerships closed — or, now, that the wolf is back at the door.

It won’t work. Ohio voters know who stepped up when the auto industry was at the abyss — and it wasn’t Romney.

Prayers to all of those to my east. We here in Western Pennsylvania seemed to have weathered the storm pretty well.
Most schools are closed today, including my children’s. My boss called last night to request that I work from home today. No need for extra cars out on the roads. I’m grateful to be safe inside with my kids with me, and power to keep us warm.
My husband is working on the West Coast this week, and safe.
Minor flooding and reports of power outages in our area, but otherwise very lucky!
Halloween trick or treating has been moved to Saturday for most communities.
It’s nice that my kids will still be able to get candy, but I’m so sad for the millions of children that likely will not.

I woke up with a headache worrying about what will happen on Tuesday. It’s hard to know how this is all going to play out for election day.
I doubt that I’ll be getting much sleep between now and then.

Lives have been lost, and livelihoods have been washed away. Please let’s all keep those in the hardest hit areas in our prayers.
To know that the President is in command of the situation is comforting, and we must keep him at his post.

    Be safe everyone.

Grace I am happy that you and your family are safe. As far as the campaign goes, VP Biden and Bill Clinton are still out on the trail. Mitt Romney lied and said that he was suspending campaigning yesterday, but campaigned in Ohio and will be in Ohio today but he has set up his Ohio event today as gathering supplies for storm victims but considering he is doing this in Ohio just doesn’t seem right. He is not qualified to be our President, and I am praying for the families devastated by Sandy, and I am also praying for a victory next Tuesday.

We will pray for healing there. No, it is not right what Mitten is doing. This is so showing and I pray that someone on the news will call him out on this for what it is. There are so many places he could have chosen to do his “dirty and selfish alms of crap. I am being a little open now, I hope there is a “Big
Frown” on God’s face for the Lying Ugly spirited Mitten.

The eyes of heaven are not happy with Willard Mitt Romney. Let us open up the “windows of force with our work” for POTUS against this force of evil. No offense to anyone, but remember,”The Steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord, he delights in his way.” POB is going to be fine. HZ

More good news on the economic front:

NEW YORK (CNNMoney) — The housing market picked up more momentum in August, as the average home price for 20 major cities jumped 0.9%, according to the S&P/Case-Shiller home price index

The increase marked the fifth consecutive month of gains for the index with all but one city, Seattle, recording month-over-month price increases.

“The sustained good news in home prices over the past five months makes us optimistic for continued recovery in the housing market,” said David Blitzer, spokesman for S&P.

The latest impreMedia-Latino Decisions tracking poll shows that Latinos are more enthusiastic and more likely to vote than ten weeks ago when the initial poll was fielded. Forty-five percent of Latino voters say they are more enthusiastic about voting in 2012 compared to 2008. That number is up from 37% from ten weeks ago when the initial impreMedia-Latino Decisions tracking poll was fielded. Furthermore, 87% of Latino voters say they are almost certain they will vote on November 6th, which includes 8% of Latino voters have already voted. In 2008, 84% of Latino registered voters cast a ballot according to Census statistics.

Over the past weeks the number of Latinos who say they are certain to vote has gone from 81% to 84% and now 87%. At the same time, the percent who say they are more enthusiastic in 2012 has grown from 36% to 40% and now 45%. The percent who describe themselves as “very enthusiastic” has gone from 51% to 56% to 59% in the last three weeks.

Something ELSE to add to the list of MittFail!

The fatal meningitis epidemic sweeping the United States can now be traced to the failure of then-Gov. Mitt Romney to adequately regulate the Massachusetts pharmaceutical company that is being blamed for the deaths.

At least 344 people in 18 states have been infected by the growing public health crisis and 25 have died so far.

But the epidemic may also play a role in the presidential campaign, now that state records reveal that a Massachusetts regulatory agency found that the New England Compounding Co., the pharmaceutical company tied to the epidemic, repeatedly failed to meet accepted standards in 2004 — but a reprimand was withdrawn by the Romney administration in apparent deference to the company’s business interests.

“It goes all the way up to Mitt Romney,” said Alyson Oliver, a Michigan attorney representing victims of the outbreak. According to Oliver, on at least six occasions, NECC was cited by authorities for failure to meet regulatory standards and almost subjected to a three-year probation. “It goes directly to the heart of what Romney says about regulation, ‘Hands off. Let the companies do their thing.’”

Just a quick note on one part of Mitt Romney’s big speech. He didn’t simply dismiss global warming, or reject policies intended to address or mitigate against sea level rise, which is closely tied to global warming. Politicians do those things all the time. It’s ill-informed and irresponsible. But Romney took this a step further: he used the very idea of controlling sea level rise as a mere rhetorical device, a laugh line to mock Barack Obama‘s grandiosity. And he milked it for a few long seconds as the crowd at the Republican National Convention laughed.
The biggest risk here is from storms, which can suddenly pump up sea levels by many meters, with little warning. People like living near coastlines, and, in the U.S. and other parts of the developed world, coastal development has surged in recent years. But most assumptions for development and flood protection assume a certain stability that no longer exists. Denying this (as some state and local governments are doing) is crazy: sooner or later, the people living in these places, and the businesses they built there, will pay the price.

So Romney’s notion that helping families and protecting communities against sea level rise are somehow diametrically opposed is silly. He knows better.

“STEVE DOUCY: Over the last couple of months, you have appeared throughout the country, Governor, on behalf of Mitt Romney,” Doocy remarked to Christie. “[W]e hear that perhaps Mr. Romney may do some storm-related events. Is there any possibility that Gov. Romney may go to New Jersey to tour some of the damage with you?”

“GOV. CHRISTIE: I have no idea, nor am I the least bit concerned or interested,” Christie replied, immediately shutting down the idea. “I’ve got a job to do here in New Jersey that’s much bigger than presidential politics and I could [sic] care less about any of that stuff.”

“I have a job to do,” he added. “I’ve got 2.4 million people out of power, I’ve got devastation on the shore, I’ve got floods in the northern part of my state. If you think right now I give a damn about presidential politics then you don’t know me.”

Sorry Mitt, now’s not the time to dress up play President like when you dressed up as a state trooper. Now is a time for actual grownups in the middle of an actual crisis. You and Ann need to take notes about what that looks like.

Biden on Romney’s auto claim: ‘Have they no shame?’

    By Steve Beben

Biden noted of Romney’s mendacity, “I’ve served with eight presidents; I have never seen this in my public life…. Ladies and gentlemen, have they no shame? Romney will say anything, absolutely anything, to win, it seems. But he can’t run from the truth.”
The reason national candidates have traditionally been reluctant to lie with Romney-like frequency is that there was a disincentive — there were likely to get caught, and the resulting fallout wasn’t worth the risk.

And the reason Romney lies with Romney-like frequency is because he believes we’ve entered a post-truth era and the disincentive has disappeared — he can repeat falsehoods with impunity without fear of consequences. If he faces genuine pushback on the Jeep/Chrysler/China falsehood, and voters are made aware of the fact that the candidate is spewing nonsense because he doesn’t trust them enough to be honest with them, it would be a step towards restoring a degree of equilibrium to the damaged discourse.

Call me naïve but I think Christie has kind of “bonded” with the President in the last few days. The media gets very upset whenever an event like this highlights the stark difference between the GOP presidency (exemplified by GWB), and the excellent leadership of our President. And unfortunately, that is also true for some of the so-called “Librul media” Chris Matthews yesterday made the most ludicrous claim that somehow Hurricane Sandy was a stroke of luck for the President who had doomed his re-election chances during the 1st debate.

I find it rather suspect that Tweety thinks the first debate mattered more than the second or third. And somehow, I believe that had PBO not done so well in the last debate relative to the first, Tweety’s opinion about which debate mattered the most would have changed accordingly.

That’s how our Librul media continually moves the goalposts to avoid giving this President any credit, and to characterize his entire presidency and campaigns as being driven solely by “luck.”

      Romney’s “Unethical Stench”

      By Andrew Sullivan

PM Carpenter has reached his limit:

There no longer exists any doubt that Mitt Romney intends to win the White House by conducting the most dishonest, unscrupulous and reprehensible campaign ever devised, in mere whimsy. The unethical stench of this man is not only breathtaking, it’s meteoric. I have never seen anything like it, never heard anything like it, never imagined anything like it.
There is something increasingly chilling about this shape-shifter, isn’t there? He views himself as a product to be marketed to different audiences at different times. And the actual content of that product is completely malleable. It can change as swiftly as Mormon doctrine, when market share is at stake. To predict Romney, in other words, you simply have to merely examine the market he’s selling to.

As I noted once before, he doesn’t just believe that corporations are people; he is a walking corporation masquerading as a person.

The Only thing that I have noticed was as soon as the LV started to be favorable…..to Romney…using their current methodology, all of a sudden LV poll numbers became the New IT and RV be darned.

The media and the Pollsters NOW know that the Brown and Black samples in their polls are wrong, yet their polls have Not reflected a change in the demographics. More women vote than men. So if Women are supporting pres Obama more than men and the difference in the numbers supporting Romney by men are not equal in RATIO, so who is Romney arithmetically or mathematically winning?

Hence Nate Silver, RAND, Sam Wong of Princeton, Interade(sp) have different results.

Hi otter44. You are so kind. Thank you so much. I just try to give back the gentleness that God blesses me with each day even when my body is raking me over with pain. My faith, otter44 has brought me thus far. So I have always tried to go where I can get my strength to go on in this world. My mother and grandparents were great sources of faith, love, comfort, compassion, empathy and so much in my life and my brother’s life. Our dear and precious sister’s life saw much illness, and it was only my Mother, her God and her faith with loving parents that I saw each day of my life kneeling there beside her as she cried out to God for strength, wisdom and help for my sister. So on this day, I have so much to be so grateful for in my life.

So you be good to your spirit and share it with the ” beautiful Angels of Goodness” that we all have so much in each of us here within our TOD family. This is why we can get beside POB and move in his space which is full of so much intellect, compassion, caring, honesty, faith, and complete love.HZ

(((((((( Be sweet and stay as strong as you can, otter44))))))))HZ.

Greedy bunch of bat poops. They are already profiting. The Fed Gov’t purchases stuff from companies and they have contracts out to stock pile stuff like bottle water, dry food, etc.

But what the Greedy Basta*ds want is the same deal the Military contractors have.

Donna dem, please give her a Big Hug from me. I have two very, very special men in my life, and one will be giving of his time as one of the many, many lawyers participating., and in a battleground state. The other one has to refrain, but has many friends who are also giving us their services.

So we give thanks for All who are helping us fight this battle. But, you know, we are going to win this. My heart is so full now, because of some very feelings that we have to deploy so many just to protect the one precious gift in this process, our right to cast our votes. It breaks the heart at some point because I know of friends who gave their lives for this right.HZ

Good morning TOD family and Happy Birthday to HZ. I think that your biggest birthday present is somewhat delayed, HZ. It will come next Tuesday night and the whole world will celebrate. I am grateful this morning that my little house is safe and the sun is out. My yard is littered with small and not so small tree branches, but the trees are all standing. We were lucky here on the coast of Massachusetts. I am also grateful for our President and his administration who work so hard to help those affected by this major storm. It’s really not about small government or big government, it’s all about smart government and a President who understands his role as looking out for all the people and making government the tool for building and safeguarding communities. This is the best President of my lifetime (and in just 4 months I will be 70) and I am sure that historians will recognize him as the transformational leader that he has been and will be the next four years.

Romney Gets Knocked for Misleading Jeep Claims

Let’s set the record straight: Jeep has no intention of shifting production of its Jeep models out of North America to China,” wrote Gualberto Ranieri, Jeep’s senior vice president of corporate communications.

“It’s simply reviewing the opportunities to return Jeep output to China for the world’s largest auto market. U.S. Jeep assembly lines will continue to stay in operation. A careful and unbiased reading of the Bloomberg take would have saved unnecessary fantasies and extravagant comments.”

    Congrats to proudmemberofglobalzero on 1st

Everyone have a beautiful day. 🙂 Our President looks great in his natural leadership capacity.
