Keep Sen. Harry Reid in your thoughts and prayers.

Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) — Senator Harry Reid was hospitalized after a crash on Interstate 15 Friday.

The crash happened just after 1 p.m. on I-15 northbound near Sahara, according to the Nevada Highway Patrol.

Multiple cars were involved in the crash, including four cars in Senator Reid’s caravan. Two other cars outside of the caravan were involved.

The extent of Reid’s injuries were not immediately clear.

Little things sometimes stick in one’s mind. The killing of the fly in the WH and the 3 pt basket in the GE ’08 at the military base in Iraq or Kuwait sticks in my mind with PBO. You’d think it would be the announcement that Bin Laden is dead or the troops are coming home, or the signing of the healthcare bill which were all important and memorable but with me no it’s the fly and the hoop shot.

Well what would you do? Here’s a fly in the wrong place at the wrong time, minding its own business, zipping merrily along its way. The poor thing trying to find the nearest exit, after meandering unawares through the White House. The House, btw that was described as open to all. So here’s the fly peeking in on all the hoopla, thinking the bright lights was the sun and it’s flight path to freedom, when BAM!!! Caught mid-air, without so much as a swat, as would normally be the case. At least a swat gives the insect a chance to walk it off, collect itself and make a hasty exit. But no, this poor dear found itself the victim of PBO’s quick, decisive, velvet gloved steel fist. So RIP little guy, but don’t nobody take PBO off his stride. Nobody.

          October 26, 2012 at 5:56 pm

๐Ÿ˜† ๐Ÿ˜† CK, what are you, the lawyer for the fly’s family? The House might have been described as open to all, but you still need an invitation for the actual day of your visit. Plus, didn’t your client know that when adults are speaking it’s impolite to interrupt? I agree with your final summation though and I hope Willard and pretty boy Paul get as definitive a political taste of the fist on Nov. 6.

All things considered, maybe the fly should be memorialized as having given its life in the line of duty. That being the guinea pig…er, the guinea fly for PBO’s practice round for his 2012 Romney beat down. BTW, someone opened the window or door in an explicit invite to enter. I’m sure the little guy would have refused the invitation had it known its soon to be demise. Then again, as a true patriot, he flew head first into the eye of the storm.

    just a fyi: per wikipedia

Sununu angered some when he was the only governor of a U.S. state not to call for repeal of the controversial UN General Assembly Resolution 3379 (“Zionism is Racism”). He later reversed his position on this issue and supported the Republicans’ pro-Israel 1988 platform.[13]

As White House Chief of Staff, Sununu reportedly took personal trips, for skiing and other purposes, and classified them as official, for purposes such as conservation or promoting the Thousand Points of Light.[17] The Washington Post wrote that Sununu’s jets “took him to fat-cat Republican fund-raisers, ski lodges, golf resorts and even his dentist in Boston.”[17] Sununu had paid the government only $892 for his more than $615,000 worth of military jet travel.[18] Sununu said that his use of the jets was necessary because he had to be near a telephone at all times for reasons of national security.[19] Sununu became the subject of much late-night television humor over the incident.[17] Sununu worsened the situation shortly afterwards when, after leaking rumors of financial difficulties in his family, he traveled to a rare stamp auction at Christie’s auction house in New York City from Washington in a government limousine, spending $5,000 on rare stamps.[20] Sununu then sent the car and driver back to Washington unoccupied while he returned on a corporate jet.[20] In the course of one week, 45 newspapers ran editorials on Sununu, nearly all of them critical of his actions.[21]

Sununu repaid over $47,000 to the government for the flights on the orders of White House counsel C. Boyden Gray, with the help of the Republican Party.[22] However, the reimbursements were at commercial rates, which are about one-tenth the cost of the actual flights; one ski trip to Vail, Colorado alone had cost taxpayers $86,330.[23]

France’s lower house passes free abortion bill

    Source: Associated Press

    / October 26, 2012, 3:24 PM
France’s lower house passes free abortion bill

PARIS The lower house of the French parliament has voted to fully reimburse all abortions and to make contraception free for minors.

Currently, France’s national medical insurance fully pays for abortions for minors and the poor, while other women are reimbursed for up to 80 percent of the procedure’s cost, which can be as much as 450 euros ($580). Contraception is partially reimbursed.

The bill, which passed the National Assembly on Friday, would make all abortions free and would also pay for contraception for those between 15 and 18. It now goes to the Senate, where it is likely to pass.

“Women who want to stop an unwanted pregnancy have the right to be covered: The enactment of the right to choose to halt a pregnancy is an obligatory state service,” the bill’s language says.

Great job Mr. PBO! While I look for podium slaps, #2 looks for the PBO handshake. He comes in from the side with the elbow bent slightly, but close to the body. Then he slaps the approaching hand right before he grabs it in a firm dap-like shake. I hadn’t noticed this until she pointed it out on Leno the other night. Evidently, it’s a signature move for her. BTW, dap is a type of handshake from the 60’s that young AA males gave each other. Dap has many variations, and can almost be ritual in nature. PBO does the very short version of dap in the side angle move.

Please could you remember him in your prayers, and my precious son who is devastated for his best friend. He did not leave his side all evening and has vowed to go back and see him tomorrow. I so wish this were a bad dream that everyon e could wake up from, none of us have stopped crying all day.

I’ve been making calls again to Iowa—most contacts Obama voters, most want to vote on election day. One goofball—saying he’s not voting for any candidate of a major party—-they’re all corrupt—-and anyone raising a billion dollars to get elected would never get his vote etc. etc. etc. Told him his anger should be re-directed to the Sup. Ct. and its Citizens United decision, but he didn’t care. So—have a nice evening—and on to someone with more sense. There were a couple who said they were leaning Obama but needed some gentle persuasion, which I enthusiastically provided. Again, I urge everyone to take time to make some calls—–it is important and could make the difference in these close states.

    • 128 dotster3
      October 26, 2012 at 6:13 pm

p.s. I also use these calls to make clear the urgency that they vote—–early or election day, they have to vote, every decency is at stake.

    • October 26, 2012 at 6:15 pm

Thanks dotster3 for making your calls. I am home sick today and also decided to make Iowa calls. Our experiences are mirror images of each other. I got a couple of men who were so grumpy but overall I talked to or left messages for over 60 people and most were positive experiences. So I co-sign your suggestion that folks should call.

    • 130 desertflower
      October 26, 2012 at 6:16 pm

Thank for this, dotster:) I had a similar call the other night…young guy with two little girls…I could hear them in the background while we were talking.
He said that he wasn’t sure if he was going to vote this year…supported PBO in ’08, but was mad because he thought his vote wouldn’t matter because of the Electoral College. WTF. Seriously? NOW you have an issue? Been that way HIS entire life!!! I talked him down off that ledge, and told him that if he didn’t vote, someone else would fill that void. Reminded him that in 2000…only 538 votes changed the course of history. Then I put the hammer down and mentioned the two cute little girls of his….and told him that he needed to vote FOR THEM. He shut up and thanked me. My job was a success. All kinds out there. We need to listen more than we talk…and then make them understand the consequences of their inaction on a personal level.

Was thinking just this DF. Often when I get a general statement like “they’re all corrupt” or some other, I try to drill down and isolate the one or two issues that are important to them. Once you hear them out, if you’re armed with a list of O’s accomplishments, you will at least be able to make a case.

My whole entire family (including my teenagers) and I will be working on GOTV right up to election day. I work all week and giving up my whole entire weekend for the campaign is hard but it’s a sacrifice that is well worth it. I will not be getting anything done around the house until the day after election day. I have never done anything like this in my life and the canvassing and phone banking is something that is normally out of my comfort zone. But the love and respect that I have for PBO and the first family is what gives me the courage. So, I just want to tell everyone to stay positive because we are winning !!

Awesome! This is great that your whole family is involved. We need everyone pulling in the same direction over the next 10 days. Thanks for your efforts. Onward!

Thanks so much to you and your fam! I can’t think of a more worthwhile way to spend your weekend—–working to save our country and all our decencies —-and to re-elect the most gifted president I’ve ever known.

Ms Chips! I am not good at sending links, but my husband passed me this Daily Telegraph clip about WAYNE ROONEY endorsing President Obama! Maybe you can make this into a proper hyperlink.

I was just looking at the MTV interview with the President and I just want to scream at those undecided students.
I mean just THINK! Do you think Mitt Romney cares about DOMA, Don’t Ask Don’t Tell. This is a guy who publically stated that marriage is between a man and a woman and so does his party. I mean do you really expect anything to get done under him? At least President Obama has started.

But if MTV every gets Romney to do an interview he’s just going to tailor his answers and positions according to what the students want to hear. Flip flop on everything. This man is lying his way to the presidency! There’s nothing noble about that. And Americans have to put their foot down.

I tell you, if I were American I would be getting hypertension all the time.

Except I have wondered the same thing—-why there aren’t more events at this critical time on the weekends when more people would be available to attend—-and take the breather during the week when people are at work.

      • October 26, 2012 at 8:56 pm

Logical, but, two things: he is President and may be dealing with a really hot situation (e.g., Mali) and if you heard his voice, even at his 1st stop in IA, you know he was getting dangerously close to damaging his vocal chords and it only got worse until last night in Cleveland I was really concerned so they may have decided that after NH tomorrow he needed to chill it because from Monday until the night of the 6th it’s gonna be full court press.

There’s a storm a-brewing on the east coast this week-end, forecasted to be of epic portions. I do believe it is best that PBO stays put in case he has to declare emergencies and stuffs. The optic of him at a rally, while the coast is under the aftermath of a devastating storm, would not go over too well.

Thinking maybe Luke Russert ought to try campaigning at some point. It is GRUELING.

I can’t stand that punk ass Luke Russert, just like I can’t stand Chuck Todd, Jake Tapper, David Gregory, and others. But it seem to me if the Obama campaign wanted Luke advice I think they would have ask him. They haven’t so to hell what Luke think. Tell him to go give advice to the liar he supports, Mitt Romney.

Anniebella, you know why the likes of Luke Russert are pissed at the President? They want him to be out on the road campaigning in the midst of an impending hurricane that may inflict devastating damage on the east coast. Then they can turn around and blame him for being more interested in his re-election than he was in attending to the immediate needs of the country. For me, I’ve lost complete trust in most people in the so called mainstream media. Everything they do is aimed at undermining President Obama.

Wow, Co. Wilkerson on Ed says his party is full of rasists……the color of Obama’s skin is reason they want him out. Well, we are going to WIN this thing big-time& those people can self-deport. I voted today for PBO & I’m looking FORWARD.

Near photos of my family on a shelf in my living room, I have a little framed sign that reads: “I see poetry in your faces.” Thought of that when I saw this wonderful image. And we’re all part of the same Obama family, aren’t we, which makes it even sweeter?

Photos- reminds me of Xmas last year when I had 2 framed photos of the Obama family I had received as a supporter during the holidays on my livingroom entry table. My grown kids even though they were Obama supporters too seemed to be bent out of shape since I had the Obamas instead of them in my livingroom. I came back without hesitation with, “I have photos of all of you in my bedroom, in my artroom/office, on my kitchen refrigerator and even in my bathroom so you should not feel cheated since the Obamas are only in my livingroom.” LOL

My God, this Romney jeep thing reminds me of crazy Michele Bachman who said whatever crazy crap that came to her head, whatever she read and whatever she heard. Dear Lord Romney is warping into Ms. Bachman.
