I absolutely love Margaret and Helen. I really do. I frequently print out their posts for hubby to read. This one is so good, it has me sitting here dumbfounded. It is so en pointe that I cannot even react. Wow. God, I hope the women in this country wake up before it is too late.

In other news, the Department of Justice filed a lawsuit yesterday against the city of Meridian, Lauderdale County, two juvenile court judges, and the state of Mississippi for its ā€œschool-to-prison pipelineā€ that has been imprisoning children for minor classroom offenses.

Yes, and I don’t like Bri Wi’s initial framing of the campaign in terms of smaller crowds and people not as enthusiastic. That is FALSE.

I didn’t like it either – he was slanting everything as a negative. And complaining a lot. All the while, the President was working his butt off – traveling around the country and asking Americans for their vote so he can work FOR THEM! I thought the President was resting a little bit when he was done with each leg of the trip – only to find that he was being hounded by Brian Williams!

It was about 12,000 tonight at the airport in Ohio, according to this article.

    snip//////

Obama’s Cleveland visit capped a two-day, round-the-clock tour that also stopped in Iowa, Colorado, Nevada, Florida and Virginia. Before arriving at Burke, Obama detoured to Chicago, where he became the first sitting president to cast a ballot in person before Election Day.

About 12,000 turned out for Obama’s 25-minute speech. It was his second event in Ohio in three days – he and Vice President Joe Biden rallied Tuesday in Dayton – and his voice was hoarse.

    From PBO:

    Three things
By Barack Obama on October 25, 2012

No matter what state we’re in or how many of these grassroots events we’ve done in a row or even how little sleep I’m running on, I’m always thinking three things when I walk off the stage at a rally.

First, if it’s a hot day like it was today in Virginia, I’m thinking about whether everybody’s getting enough water and staying healthy.

The second thing I think about is the incredible energy I see in our volunteers and supporters. It’s meant so much to me to feel just how geared up people are—they understand what’s at stake in this election, and they are putting in the hours and logging the miles it’s going to take to win.

Finally, I think about all the lives that we can change for the better in a second term—the work we still have to do to put people back to work, build more manufacturing here in the United States, support small businesses, make sure that our tax code is fair as we’re reducing our deficit. There’s so much ahead of us, and I’m really inspired by the prospect of having another four years to get it done together.

This trip has been great so far, and I can’t wait to see what our last stop has in store. Thanks for tracking our cross-continental all-nighter—and most of all, thanks for having my back.

    Barack

P.S.—I just cast my vote in Chicago, and I hope I can count on yours.

BriWi seemed a little tired out about his coverage on Rock Center, just from trying to keep up with President Obama for part of his whirlwind trip! But it was pretty good coverage, overall, since – at the end of the piece – President Obama got to speak directly to the viewers about what the presidency means, and that is having the (moral) compass to do your best for the American people, each and every day. He’s got my vote.

Plus, if I recall, he was more the “whiteboard” type – like the other loser, Rombo!

I recall that before he ran for President and kinda “lost it,” Ross Perot was extremely well regarded by the military, too (not just for business sense but because of his support for the military) and I recall a couple of high-powered Navy seminars where he was keynote speaker. And why I’m reminiscing about Ross Perot, whom I would never have voted for, I have no idea — but I seem to be “killing time” tonight! Ha!

My friend’s daughter (who’s a teacher in Florida) just posted this on her Facebook page, after someone posted an anti-Obama link there:

“I am sorry but i find it extremely disrespectful that you would choose my positive post to share something like that. I WILL VOTE FOR BARACK OBAMA. I am NOT an idiot. I do NOT live off the government. I work hard everyday. I pay taxes and i take care of those around me. Maybe they should make a video of me and my reasoning. This is the one and only time i will share who i am voting for. i don’t believe that it’s anyone’s business and i wouldn’t dare shove my opinions down anyone’s throat but this is MY PAGE and i plan to fill it with peace and hope not ignorance, hatred and ARROGANCE!!”

I’ll pass that on – she’s a spitfire and the kind of 5th grade teacher we’d all want our kids and grandkids to have in school. Each student in her class is like her own, and she “worries” about them when they go on to middle school. Oh, and, she’s a Navy brat – her late Dad (enlisted, band leader, great guy) was career Navy!

Yes, like you, he didn’t suffer fools gladly, either! He retired and moved to Florida – kept in touch with many of his fellow Navy Band members who also moved there – and also ran a fishing boat operation, so he was surrounded by his former shipmates and water, no matter what he did!

Sweet. I was “only” a civilian for 30 years, but I also loved working for the Navy all that time, being around other people who loved the sea! Only was on one USS Big Boat during my career, on a hosted tour, and remind me never to do that again (August, Norfolk, hot as blazes).

they might as well name it “the hunstman post” now. there’s been a giant frontpage feature with jon hunstman being interviewed in their “studio” today to pontificate about whatever he wants, and his daughter abby seems to be one of their featured propagandists every day. with this abby, yet another millionaire/billionaire child with no professional accomplishment whatsoever given a huge megaphone to carry on the big sham for the next generations. it’s clear we’re going to have to deal with jon running again in 2016 on the usual false republican “moderate” lie, just as rmoney’s family did 4 years ago. we must stop these people and their “trickle down” snake oil once and for all, otherwise they’ll just keep coming back again and again.

John Sununu, like Rush Limbaugh, is a racist. They think that it’s o.k. for them to endorse a white guy but it’s racist for a black person to endorse another black person. I’ve got news for them. Here are some of black people that will never win the endorsement of the majority of black people: Allan Keys, Allan West, Kenneth Blackwell, and Clarence Thomas.
