Me too! For some reason this debate even though I knew PBO was strong made me the most nervous to watch so much so that I taped it and came here instead. Only after hearing all the positive feedback I was able to stay up late and watch the tape. Thanks for this place!
Hi Nena, yardarm, and JER! I couldn’t see the video above, here or on youtube… says “this video is not available”. Must be the German version of Windows blocking it.
Scott Van Duzer, the power-lifting Republican pizza man famous for hoisting President Obama aloft during a September visit to his Florida restaurant, got more presidential love on Tuesday morning. After sitting with First Lady Michelle Obama at Monday night’s debate at Lynn University, Van Duzer today introduced the President at his first post-debate rally at the Delray Beach Tennis Center. The two hugged, but Van Duzer resisted the urge to pick up the President. (Above: Van Duzer introducing the Eater in Chief)
I knew I “recognized” the man chatting with FLOTUS before the debate, and I’m glad to hear it was the pizza man because he was really leaning in on her. She looked like she wanted to say to him, “Back off, pizza breath!” Again, I’m glad to hear this since now it just looked like he was trying to relieve her possible nervousness about watching the festivities.
A couple of other visions caught my eye last night … first, just as Ann Romney was being introduced, FL Gov. Rick Scott (I think it was) jumped into her camera shot, so everybody would know he was there as one of the hosts … second, former FL Gov. Charlie Crist (who got ousted by his own party for embracing PBO when he arrived in FL, as well as – for goodness sakes – siding with teachers) was sitting just behind FLOTUS, reminding his remaining FL followers (and there still are plenty) he’s got PBO’s back.
Good morning TOD and blog goddess Chips, to whom I am forever grateful for this sane, inspiring, fun and incredibly informative site. I’m a resident of New York, but in the summer of 2011 I handed my house keys to renters, jumped into a great pick up truck, towing my new home behind it, and headed out for a life of adventures. My newest adventure has me on the way to Reno, Nevada to join OFA’s Vote Corps for the next two weeks. The VC is another great OFA idea — organizing people willing to relocate to swing states and commit to at least 40 hours a week doing whatever needs to be done. I’ve been so inspired by the hard work and dedication of so many of you, and am so grateful to have the opportunity to help this amazing man win his last election.
They’re in your head too, huh, Chips Chica? Wasn’t that a great line? I love the President’s mind, really I do! 😀 😀 Riches or no, poor Mitt is out of his league. 👿
Oh dear, Nena, I thought I was the only non-musical family member. Don’t think I should celebrate, but it feels good to have some company in that department. 😉
Ahoy mates. Reveille, reveille, heavy it out and trice-up your bunks. Clean-up all compartments and scrub the decks. Take all trash and garbage to the fantail to be dumped over the side. All sailors who contracted Romnesia in our last port, report to sick-bay for your shot of reality. 😀
Ha! I have my inoculations in order and I stay clear away from Romnesia-infested ports and people — I know the signs when I see ’em, and I keep a wide berth. 😆
Aye but they are used to id an individual as in Able Bodied Seaman denotes rank. I was a Petty Officer. Tar is an old term used to id a hair treatment. In sailing days sailors didn’t cut their hair so to keep it out of their faces, while working or fighting they would use tar and gun grease to braid it up on the back of their heads.
That is why you see those big flaps on the back of the uniform, which was there to keep the greasy pigtail off of a clean uniform. Salt indicates the difference between sea going and fresh water.
Thus ends the nautical lesson for at least two weeks. 😀
I love learning about the origins of such terms. I think I had heard about the tarred pigtails before, but i never realized that the big collar was there to protect from the grease! It’s a good day when I can learn something new!
Exactly! But see, Obama has ALWAYS done that. He has ALWAYS humanized issues. Because for him, that’s what it always come down to: people and how things affect them. He truly cares for people.
Martha Radditz was by far the best moderator for a presidential debate that I have ever seen. She did a exemplary job controlling the debate and challenging outlandish claims. I really liked her style, it was so refreshing (and unexpected). But Martha really did herself proud. She did her homework and set an example for Jim Lehrer, Candy Crowley and Bob Schieffer. Good morning Ms Chips and TODbots. We have snow on the ground here in MT. See the sun in Florida is a wonderful way to start the day. Can’t wait to hear how on fire the President will be this morning. He is really on a roll. Thank you all for all the fun information we have here.
Good Morning, my wonderful TOD family. Last night was a blast. I had to give up the RT and crash, the tweets were coming so fast. Love the way you guys support Our President. FORWARD!
President Obama is bringing it on home right now. This is just fantastic. IT’S ABOUT TRUST. FLORIDA YOU KNOW ME. I MEAN WHAT I SAY. YOU CAN TRUST ME. TELL IT PBO.
Chips, I am hanging on his every word. I am practically sitting on my television. It’s absolutely glorious to hear PBO speak. I love him so much, it scars me sometimes.
DELRAY BEACH — The 8,200-seat Delray Beach Tennis Center is filled to capacity as President Obama prepares for more than just a typical election rally.
Exactly, the speech has been boiled down to a succinct and crisp closing argument for re-election. He’s a remarkable human being. A treasure. I can’t believe my good fortune to be witnessing this historic presidency. I am reminded of the amazing New Yorker endorsement.
The Choice
The reëlection of Barack Obama is a matter of great urgency. Not only are we in broad agreement with his policy directions; we also see in him what is absent in Mitt Romney—a first-rate political temperament and a deep sense of fairness and integrity. A two-term Obama Administration will leave an enduringly positive imprint on political life. It will bolster the ideal of good governance and a social vision that tempers individualism with a concern for community. Every Presidential election involves a contest over the idea of America. Obama’s America—one that progresses, however falteringly, toward social justice, tolerance, and equality—represents the future that this country deserves. ♦
Wow!!!! like 2008 again but better and stronger and more assured because he has proven that yes he can!
Thanks Chips for all the wonderful coverage but also for this support centre which continues to cover the reality and not the hype.
Good Morning Chips & TOD! Quickly – last night I was all settled in for debate, the phone rang, & a young- sounding male voice said he was taking a “survey” AGHHHHH because it was literally 5 minutes before the debate! So, I was crabby, I asked “what kind of survey?” & he said a 3 minute political survey. So, I said YES and don’t you know this person was soooooo exceted with all of my answers! It was so cute, he could not contain himself. Us Obama fans are just so emotional about our President. Anyway, I probably made his night, by the sounds of it. There are lots of Romney signs around my neighborhood so I am also happy he called my house. Have a great day-after-a-great-debate-day all!
My 16 year old son and I watched the debate together. Wish he could vote! Anyway, about half way through, my son jumped up and yelled, “I think Romney just farted. Did you hear that?” And I did hear what sounded like a fart. Then I saw Romney get that “uh-oh, I think I have gas” look, which is hard to tell because his expression ALWAYS looks like he is about to fart! Then when the family came on stage at the end, I was watching him hug one of his boys, and when he pulled back from the hug I read his lips, in which he appeard to mouth “I broke wind” while laughing. The boy, not sure which one of the 5, had this horrible look on his face, no laughter. Did anyone else hear Mitt fart during the debate last night? I so wish PBO had heard it and said at the time, “Mitt, did you just pass gas”? Or better yet, just wave his hand toward Mitt to clear the air around the desk! Anyone else hear it or has anyone wlse mentioned it?
LOl, well Mark Knoller did tweet that both men had a good meal before the debate. Maybe Mitt should have skipped his. I don’t know whether he had indigestion or not, but he did manage to stink up the place.
Interesting day in the markets. The DOW is down big but so is oil. Which do you think most people are going to recognize, DOW being down or gas prices plummeting? I would bet on the latter. Gas in my neck of the woods in suburban Chicago is 3.69, down 80 cents from just a couple months ago.
When Tagg Romney put his hand on PBO’s back he understood instantly what Joe Biden was talking about. A spine made a ramrod. Right there he came to the very wise conclusion that he didn’t want any parts of PBO.
That was such a weird moment. The guy was apologizing, right??? Don’t act all buddy-buddy, creepy smiley with our POTUS unless you were groveling for forgiveness! But of course, as PBO is such a better man than me, he graciously smiled back.
The only one that I really liked in that clan was that little grandson, sharing post debate analysis with Potus lol he was too cute!
😆 so cute to see the baby looking up and PBO doing the same thing to see what was making him do that…get all mushy inside when I see PBO holding babies in pics and videos!
Also a bit later when he was shaking hands at a higher tier, a lady dropped her sunglasses and he instantly bent over, picked them up and gave them back to her. Want to bet Willard would not even have noticed?
Mittobott would have had the SS pick it up and hand it back, that’s what ‘plebs’ are for in Mitt’s world (a UK MP had to resign for allegedly calling a policeman pleb).
PBO is a human being first and President 2nd. Shockingly some people think they’re humans 2nd and CEO/Professor etc 1st – smdh.
Romney and the republicans are all over Obama because he hasn’t turned the economy around fast enough yet last night he said not once but twice that he would have the budget balanced in 8 to 10 years.
He’s been saying that for a while actually. Here’s what he said in Sept. on Meet the Press:
MR. ROMNEY: I’ll balance the budget by the end of my second term. Doing it in the first term would cause, I believe, a– a dramatic impact on the economy. Too– too dramatic. And therefore the steps I’ve put in place and we’ve put together a plan that lays out how we get to a balanced budget within eight to 10 years.
Now what we need is an Ad with the above quote and this quote from Romney criticizing Obama for not balancing the budget in 4 years.
I agree meta, he’s just good inside. That was an unexpected pleasure for those little whippersnappers. Their president made them feel special, important and loved. It doesn’t get any better than that.
Good Morning TOD Family. Thanks Bobfr for all that you do to keep the Twitter lights burning.
This is going to be a great day for POB VPBiden. I woke up with Mr. Pain, but I just keep moving and singing as I was opening up the blinds. I went into the music room/library and did my usual meditation moment, but something had me linger for a few minutes, and I just stood and prayed a prayer that gave me an assurance that POB is going to be fine. I will not get into any more details, but I saw again someone stated, “How does he do it.” Well, I really believe in my heart(my personal belief) that he is doing it because of the beautiful spirits that surround him daily like those of us here with Chips. It is a powerful thing to have angels of beautiful determined, prayerful(no matter what you personaly faith maybe) constant surrounding someone with that goodness which gives off great energy.
Then I came back upstairs and the pain had subsided, and I had not taken the meds yet. I opened up the bedroom shades, and I felt a sweet spirit of calmness come over me that came over me when my precious mother left her space here on earth. I knew that we were ready for anything. I turned on the tv to watch POB in Florida. There was Charlie Crist speaking(miracles have happen) then the sweet and gentle spirit of another angel, Scott introducing POB.
When POTUS came out, I saw a glow all over him that I have s
often when he knows that people are with him, his faith is strong and he sees it wowrking, and his trust in God is full. It was so beautiful. Then he started speaking. Let me say, “President is ready to bring this on home for us.” So take that speech(he was on fire this morning) his spirit, his honesty, and be encouraged. We can’t allow our hearts to be troubled, but trust him and our precious Joe Biden.
Slap those doors, dial up those phones and please continue to donate. We need our president to bring this on home. I am in. I will not allow the pain to stop me, and my spirit is in the right place. Do not worry about me, I will make this one also. Let stand together and keep our eyes on the prize.
Keep Chips in your meditations, your prayers, your good deeds, and keep our site ringing with good news, good spirits of telling good joy of what is good, sweet and precious about our president.
Now I am going to make my calls, and please do not forget to make your donations wherever you so desire.HZ
DELRAY BEACH. FLA. — Don’t trust Mitt Romney, a fired-up President Barack Obama told a boisterous crowd of about 11,000 in this South Florida city Tuesday, as the candidates began their final push for votes.
Obama started his day a few miles from the Lynn University site of Monday night’s third and final debate. He spent much of his 20-minute talk at the Delray Beach Tennis Center pointing out his Republican rival’s frequent changes in position.
Ms Chips, THANK YOU SO MUCH for all the debate coverage!
My pleasure Andogriff, thank you!!!
Me too! For some reason this debate even though I knew PBO was strong made me the most nervous to watch so much so that I taped it and came here instead. Only after hearing all the positive feedback I was able to stay up late and watch the tape. Thanks for this place!
Ditto, your coverage and everyone’s commentary has been fabulous. Really helped me get through some tense moments. Forward!
Likewise! Good morning/afternoon, TODville!
Good Luck Mr. PO.
We just couldn’t stay up so late last night, but I knew you would have it all today. Don’t know what we would do without you!
Top 10 again?
Woo hoo there YA! GM, I see you’ve gotten the knack of it; nothing less than top 10 these days. 😆

Hi Nena, yardarm, and JER! I couldn’t see the video above, here or on youtube… says “this video is not available”. Must be the German version of Windows blocking it.
I see President Obama will be introduced by the pizza guy bear-hugger. Nice!
Really Dotster? Excellent!
The pizza guy who is a Republican did a good job introducing the President this morning.
Oh, that’s reallllly nice!
That is super cool! Just awesome!

Awesome…what a great adventure!
Hiya Betsey, what a wonderful story! Safe travels, and thank you for all you’re doing for Four More Years!
Sounds like you have got interesting days ahead. Thanks for doing all the hard work.
So is the rally over then?
I thought that I had seen a man that resembles the pres off to the left going up in the standing crowd?
Or were my eyes playing horrible tricks on me?
Hasn’t started yet Nena!
Thanks. I missed the rally. I am home, I went to get a couple of things done. I just came back and it looks like I have missed it again.
The video is in the latest post Nena.
Ooooh, loving the music, jigging and reeling around the room 😳
BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH. Don’t give the world an earthquake Chips.
Is it morning already, TODobots? /bleary eyed/ MORNING Everyone, including the speedy and focused, Ms Chips! 😆
Moooooooorning VC!!!! Confession: I’m neither speedy nor focused today, it must be all the horses and bayonets in my head!
They’re in your head too, huh, Chips Chica? Wasn’t that a great line? I love the President’s mind, really I do! 😀 😀 Riches or no, poor Mitt is out of his league. 👿
Mornin’ VC. Nice of you to join us what a night we had last night!
GM all all. I had forgotten to say so. I am sorry.
Hello Sunshine…..a song.
Oh What a Beautiful Morning…..another song.
I can;t sing though.
Oh dear, Nena, I thought I was the only non-musical family member. Don’t think I should celebrate, but it feels good to have some company in that department. 😉
Once again, I have you in my corner……Thanks.
My singing abilities is Zero…..I was once told by an elementary teacher to please stop singing……that is how bad my challenge goes.
Hugelo crowd in Delray!
Wooooooooooooow!!!! Gorgeous, thank you Dotster!!!
Ahoy mates. Reveille, reveille, heavy it out and trice-up your bunks. Clean-up all compartments and scrub the decks. Take all trash and garbage to the fantail to be dumped over the side. All sailors who contracted Romnesia in our last port, report to sick-bay for your shot of reality. 😀
You. Crack. Me. Up. Shipmate!!! Moooooooooooooooooooooooring Yardarm!!
Aye Admiral. A fine morning it is too. We just heaved some horse parts and old bayonets over the side. The horse meat was tasty, howsome ever!
Good one, yardarm!!
Ha! I have my inoculations in order and I stay clear away from Romnesia-infested ports and people — I know the signs when I see ’em, and I keep a wide berth. 😆
Aye for true but the crew does need liberty to get some R&R. Diseases have a way of sneaking-up on ya.
YESSSSS, SIR!!!!
LOL! Morning Sailor!! 😀
Top o’ the morning 9t9.
LOL.
Ahoy there amk. 🙂
Ahoy AB. Great day isn’t it ?
AB????
Able Bodied. Tar. Salt. Aren’t they all sailor terms ?
Aye but they are used to id an individual as in Able Bodied Seaman denotes rank. I was a Petty Officer. Tar is an old term used to id a hair treatment. In sailing days sailors didn’t cut their hair so to keep it out of their faces, while working or fighting they would use tar and gun grease to braid it up on the back of their heads.
That is why you see those big flaps on the back of the uniform, which was there to keep the greasy pigtail off of a clean uniform. Salt indicates the difference between sea going and fresh water.
Thus ends the nautical lesson for at least two weeks. 😀
LOL. Thanks Sailor for the nautical lesson.
You betcha.
I love learning about the origins of such terms. I think I had heard about the tarred pigtails before, but i never realized that the big collar was there to protect from the grease! It’s a good day when I can learn something new!
Glad to be of service.
It’s universal. Everybody loves talk of the sea. Drool. Well done, Sailor. 🙂
Thank you ma’am.
The best joke of y’day was peacenik mittbot.
None of them measured up to Martha’s caliber.
martha bothered to know her shit and use her knowledge to deliver a substantive debate. What a novel idea in 21st century American media.
PBO is gonna be back in my town on Thursday.
Correction. Our town it is. 😀
Okay. Top 30 on this one. Looking forward to hearing the President this morning.
😆 😆 GM, Jackie4O. Happy to see you no matter where you are positioned. 😆
Good morning Ms Chips and TODbots. We have snow on the ground here in MT. See the sun in Florida is a wonderful way to start the day. Can’t wait to hear how on fire the President will be this morning. He is really on a roll. Thank you all for all the fun information we have here.

Watch out for “The Other”,eh. It’s like a creeping crud! 😀
Good Morning, my wonderful TOD family. Last night was a blast. I had to give up the RT and crash, the tweets were coming so fast. Love the way you guys support Our President. FORWARD!
Heads up: PBO will be on the Tom Joyner Morning (radio) show tomorrow morning. Not sure what hour yet.
I’m liking this pizza guy’s enthusiasm. 😆
Scott the Bear Hugger is doing a great job!!
Tom Joyner and comedian Huggy Lowdown recap last night’s debate! 🙂

I love this crowd.
He’s on fiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiire!
OMG! Stage 3 Romneysia!! He is going there on steroids! The audience is shouting back ROMNEYSIA! I love my president,,,too funny!
I always love the way the President sticks to his positions – ex Romnesia, and earlier Bain! Straight shooter whenever it’s the right thing to do.
Join the dots there, Mr. President! Romnesia leads to an issue re trust.
Good morning everyone. PBO is still on fire this morning.
He’s sizzling COS! Morning!
President Obama is bringing it on home right now. This is just fantastic. IT’S ABOUT TRUST. FLORIDA YOU KNOW ME. I MEAN WHAT I SAY. YOU CAN TRUST ME. TELL IT PBO.
+ 1,000,000,000 This is BRILLIANT, Ladyhawke!
Totally brilliant Chips.
Chips, I am hanging on his every word. I am practically sitting on my television. It’s absolutely glorious to hear PBO speak. I love him so much, it scars me sometimes.
He is really laying it on the line, isn’t he ?
PRESIDENT OBAMA IS PREACHING NOW. THE TONE IS FIERCE AND CRYSTAL CLEAR.
The math in my plan adds up. 🙂
No okey dokey from me
I hope Tweety is watching this and I certainly hope that he visit the website. 🙂

Oh how I love this man!!!!
HE IS ON FIRE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Testify, Mr. President!
Podium slap! Out!
AFTER THAT SPEECH, ALL I CAN SAY IS = “WOW”
This new speech is chock full of goodness!!!!! PBO is closing the deal.
Exactly, the speech has been boiled down to a succinct and crisp closing argument for re-election. He’s a remarkable human being. A treasure. I can’t believe my good fortune to be witnessing this historic presidency. I am reminded of the amazing New Yorker endorsement.

Yikes!
Great column but do NOT look at the comments! Rightwing trolls galore!
I never do Melissa, those sites are crawling with desperate Teabaggers, methinks they’re a bit worried.

That is so nice of the President, to stop to see those kids.
