Yes, I noticed that as well, but I can’t help but think these undecideds have a little problem with facts, and I also think they like to steal centre stage in an election. I mean…if they are so undecided why haven’t they done their homework. it would seem to me that if I was an undecided it would be because I actually didn’t listen or read anything about this election and the candidates.

  29. October 22, 2012 at 10:45 pm

As far as I’m concerned Romney lost before the debate begun, by choosing Bush’s FP/ Military team for his advisors. Glad the President Continued to call out Romney on his lies and constant flip flopping. How can a man who has investments in Iran and China be trusted to handle these countries. With Mitt his wallet comes first, America always comes second.

My fave part was definitely the “we have less horses and bayonets too” response. And I was also fond of Scheiffer saying “We all love teachers”—-in a bit of a mocking of Romney’s repeated insistence that he loves teachers. (even tho he doesn’t want to hire any and cut education funds)

The media always get nervous when the president does their job for them, Mitt was once again exposed as a fake wishy, washy flip-flopper. Mitt whined about being attacked re: his investments in Iran & shipping jobs to China, but he never refuted what was said.

  32. October 22, 2012 at 10:46 pm

No our Prez always take the high road because he recognizes this is what bullies do. No substance to their trash talking.

Our Prez is stressing education because our undecideds are demonstrating laziness in their research of the candidates especially at this hour of voting. They have not been paying attention. They have procrastinated about their future. Where have they been.

I am so proud of my president–a real leader, a true commander in chief who kept remembering the veterans who risked everything for their country. Willard was so phony it was actually impossible to stomach both the lies and he sanctimoniousness. I literally can not stand to hear that used car salesman voice or see that smirky red conman face again. And thank you, Mr. President for time and again calling out this little twerp who does not have the foggiest idea in the world how to be a world leader. He would do everything the president does except it would be better because it would be coming out of his nasty mouth? Oh please… And Mr. Hypocrite talking about China is just too much to take this late at night. I finally had to leave the room when he made his final remarks. Simply could not stand him.

  42. October 22, 2012 at 10:52 pm

    Dear Chips & posters all…

Line from the President that got me, right off: “America is the one indispensable nation.” And it didn’t seem arrogant to me; it seemed that he knows what responsibilities that entails. It’s not just a gift.

And, for the rest, there was the President and Commander in Chief… And then there was that other guy.

My husband, the Republican, thought it was a draw. To which I had to say, “What? Are you kidding?”

I also loved the part where Romney said our Navy has fewer ships than since 19-whenever. (As Charlie Pierce said this morning, something along those lines, “Just give me one nuclear submarine against all the ships from a hundred years ago, and I’ll be king of the Universe before lunch.”) And then Obama replied, “Yeah; we’re a little short of horses and bayonets these days, too.”

I thought it was a total wipe-out by our Pres… May he be so for the next four years.

President Obama was in steady command of this debate. He was absolutely presidential and gave a good account of himself and his administration. A great, well rounded performance.
Governor Romney on the other hand gave a rousing endorsement of President Obama’s foreign policy and strung together a series of empty and meaningless words just to kill time and avoid embarassment because he knew he was in way over his head! The end!
Now let’s go win this thing!

  46. October 22, 2012 at 10:55 pm

This is what we call a CRUSHING.

CNN’s focus group tore Romney a new one. They are NEGATIVE on him.

@ppppolls: Swing state voters say Obama won the debate 53-42, and are planning to vote for him 51-45

Shit, I’m glad these damn debates are over. They are way too intense for me. Interestingly when I was canvassing on Saturday EVERYONE, even the girl who didn’t know what party Obama belonged to, wanted to talk about the debates. On the way home from work tonight I overheard two young people saying, “yeah, goin’ go home just chill and watch the debates”. It’s become way too big in the whole scope of things. I mean SERIOUSLY, after 4 years in office, what is there to debate about?? LOL, I guess Mitt incorrectly guessed battleships.

Thanks Chipsticks for this safe harbor for the Obama Navy. 🙂

Why does deleting posts screw up, well, posts? Why, WP, why?!

Sometimes it’s best to just edit the post with something like ‘post removed’ that way everything stays in same order. Not certain whether there needs to be a switch for this edit to work but have seen that many times on other WP sites. And that’s precisely why they do that.

That was awesome! The president was masterful once again. I hope he made some minds up today and have a great fundraising night just like after the second debate.

John Kerry said something like, ‘Romney didn’t have his binder of foreign policy with him’.

lol some republicans are angry saying that Romney was immitating PBO’s policies way too much.

What else did they expect him to do? He couldn’t tell the truth and say his foreign policy would mirror GWB’s and that he plans to invade Iran before the end of his first year in office, so his only option was to agree with PBO in order to try selling himself as a moderate. And, besides, his rhetoric on Libya had fallen into tiny pieces the last few days, so he really had nuthing, not nothing, nuthing.

because he definitely did. My take away is NOW Romnesia would do everything PBO does but he’d be louder about it. lol

I thought the same thing Lootenant. I was there in the 60’s when Iran was one of our allies and had their own navy. As a matter of fact, I went through Instructor Training with a few of those Iranian sailors in GLakes.

President Obama kicked ass tonight. I didn’t think he’d actually do better than he did in that stunning 2nd debate. Teach me. A great great night.

Oh, and I thought the way Mitt Romney was leaning over the stage shaking hands was gonna leave him falling over. Good thing his wife was behind him the whole time, I guess holding on to his belt or something. Dude looked sooooo awkward.
