Congratulations for being 1st.
😀
Love your tenacity Chips.
UT and Bobfr….You TWO are just awesome. Thank you all.
Totally agree. They both are always spot on. Thanks from me also,
Nena, I second your sentiments 100%! I am really grateful to both UT and Bobfr, and to all the twitter warriors on TOD, like AMK, Dudette, Forus, LL, Meta, hopefruit2, and many many others including our leader, Chipsticks.
I hate Jon Stewart with a passion.
Wow. But, I know how you feel. I watched him last night in protest, because I wanted to see President Obama. But, his opening segment had me spitting mad, and I almost deleted the program without watching it, because I felt he started off disrespectful with his skit, with the President in the actual building. But, I realized that President Obama goes on his show not for Jon Stewart, but for his audience. And he did a masterful job. I loved it when President Obama shook his finger at Jon Stewart and said “I’m still the President. We’re not going to go there” – joking about the “Fifty Shades of Grey” book. President Obama is always presidential.
I saw nothing wrong with the opening segment. It was poking fun at how the MSM seems to believe that women are such “delicate” creatures that they wouldn’t be able to take all of that “bickering.” I actually had a female colleague who didn’t watch the debates for this same reason. However, her opinion was the minority. Most of the women in the office had no issues with all of that “bickering.”
This is the 3rd time Jon has interviewed Obama and it’s clear that he doesn’t have a problem with him.
Luckily – we can agree to disagree on this one, without any injury.
Why? Hating Jon Stewart doesn’t hurt Stewart and it doesn’t help get Obama re-elected to a second term.
Hate is such a strong word I try not to use…….but I have very strong feelings to never ever watch his show. It took a lot to watch the video of PBO. Jon Stweart tries too hard of being cool. It comes naturally with PBO.
UTAL and Bob are playing the dozens with #romnesia. Hot damn!
Hahaha….thank you.
You should have seen Bashir’s opening segment. He and his guests had a lot of fun with that whole Romnesia diagnosis. Professor Dyson noted that Romney also had Ryanopea. Very funny.
Annnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn top 5?
That was supposed to be “another”
Over at TPM, they are saying that after the Tuesday debate, the pres had the best fund raising night. Anyone else heard any numbers yet for that day?
TPM was quoting Politico.
Great tweet Bobfr (@Our4thEstate)
What else could it be for them; since they and MYTH forget we’ve been there; done that; and it didn’t work?
ROFLMAF HaHa 😆 😆 😆
What a gorgeous pic of all those smiling, UN-bound women!
I’m bringing this over from the last entry. 🙂
Thanks to everyone for their kind comments on my long post yesterday, written in the feverish afterglow of seeing the president speak in NH! Here’s a good recap of the event from the Boston Globe: http://www.boston.com/politicalintelligence/2012/10/18/barack-obama-visits-manchester-new-hampshire/XCYsZiXPlHjzU3ACA3Z6AM/story.html
They estimated the crowd at 6,000, which amazes me because the park was not huge. We were really crammed in there!
One point I forgot to mention was seeing a group with a banner that said “Veterans for Obama.” Good stuff!
Brought over from tail end of previous thread.
I almost fell out of my chair when I heard about Romnesia.. LOL
Instant classic…..
VOTE 2012 OBAMA/BIDEN
Yes!
That’s right!
https://twitter.com/NJedwina/status/259334832553873411
I think this Romnesia thingy is just the ticket. They got Obamacare. Didn’t they? Let them turn Romnesia into a positive. Let the games begin!
Me and several thousand of my closes friends 😉 just hanging out with PBO today. “Don’t boo, VOTE”. He is just too cute!!!
The atmosphere was electric and PBO was on FIRE!!!!!!! FIRED UP and READY TO VOTE!!!!!!!!
Well Donna, you hit the jackpot, for sure. That speech made all kinds of history!!!
#FORWARD
I am blessed to live so close to him and to be able to see him as often as I have. He was in his groove today. That crowd was inspired and are 100% in support of him. We just need to get all those young folks to the polls. There will probably not be another in my lifetime like this man. I thank God that I am alive to witness his greatness.
You are very lucky! I can’t wait to watch the speech – sounds like it was a barn burner.
I agree Donna. I love seeing the love between him and the massive crowds of people that strain to be near him. I’m almost (almost!) sorry that Michigan is not in play, since he hasn’t campaigned here very much. I look at the huge crowds and the adoring faces and I wonder, how can the race be so close? If every single one of these people voted it would be a landslide. I know all about the ways pollsters can slant the poll results, and I’m sure that’s part of it, but the fact is that many get ‘fired up’ but somehow don’t actually get to the voting booth. I am so proud of and grateful for all the people here who are phone banking and canvassing to GOTV.
AWESOMMMEEEEE!!
This was one of his very best speeches: energetic, forceful, funny, SPOT ON. This was a terrific crowd and I’m thrilled to hear you were present, Donna!! What a joy we have in this POTUS, a man for all the ages!!
Meta, I watch him from a different perspective when I see him in person. Today when he got into that special cadence he uses when he is in his groove and has his audience captivated was a thing of beauty to witness and see the crowd react and respond to it was overwhelming. I thought I would bust my side when he went into the whole #Romnesia rant. The crowd’s response was deafening. I have run out of adjectives to describe him.
We have to work to get him this win. I NEED 4 more years of this…..
Working day by day. We are going to win. And then, it’s the Obama Post-Presidential Home for all of us.
I can’t wait to sign into that Obama Post-Presidential Home – I’m assuming they’ll replay videos from his presidency over and over…? So glad I’ll be in excellent company. 😉
Oh, yeah. We’ll have to arrange for an occasional visit from a member of the family. We’ll have a great time.
That’ll send us over the edge, of course. Oh well…
OUCH good one
Boom! Great ones (as always).
Loving all these tweets from you & Bobfr! 🙂
Love these tweets. Apparently the person who wrote Arizona’s anti-immigrant law is Romney’s immigration advisor!!!!! President Obama mentioned this during the last debate.
Heads Up: Michelle Obama in Racine, Wisconsin

Somebody please tweet something along the lines of: “If you’re suffering from #romnesia, turn off Fox…that should clear it right up.” 😛
Good one! I’ll do the honors!
Thanks Beth!
Done. 🙂
Yassssssss!!!!! 😛 Thanks hon!
Excellent.
“More than a student of American history, I am also the father of four daughters. They mean the world to me, of course, and I’ve tried to teach them those timeless American values “It’s A Wonderful Life” promotes: a small-town hard-work ethic, holding to your inner principles and not changing with the first breeze of opposition, never lying, and loving both the country and its potentiality. And they constantly point me to the future, to the essential question George Bailey faced: What can one person do to make their community a Bedford Falls instead of a Pottersville? Well, there are many things. But one of them, I think, is to vote for Barack Obama.”
Ken Burns
Very nice!
Very well written endorsement.
Right on! LOL!
BAM!!
What ho, peeps? Just woke up, and what did I wake up to? Eviscerating mockery of Romney! As I’ve been saying for months, mockery is the only thing that bullies and incompetents deserve. People understand mockery. I was always expecting PBO to unleash it, but it’s still damned satisfying to see how he did it. Romnesia indeed.
Damn. That hurt MY feelings! 😆 😆 😆
RVS +7 LVs +3 Same margin as UCONN nat. poll. Go pedal your wares somewhere else, Gallup!
Take that Gallup, and then gallop off into the sunset.
Is this the poll that covers through today? Retuers is the only pollster that releases same day results.
Trying for the first time to post a tweet (*nervous*)
Well done!!! Just RT’d it and gave you a Follow 🙂
#PRESSON
Wow! Thanks! 😀
Thanks Beth!!!!!!! 😛 😛 😛
No problem!
oh awesome! Followin’ yez! 😀
Oh-oh! LL is awake now! LOL!
absolutely Bob!
😆 😆 😆
If you don’t want Bush/Cheney to endorse your campaign yet whose policies you plan to implement …..You Have Romnesia.
Romnesia – great blog about how it paints Robme as a weasel
http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/plum-line/post/romnesia-and-the-weasel-factor/2012/10/19/de003690-1a0c-11e2-aa6f-3b636fecb829_blog.html
“However, painting Romney as a flip flopper does risk driving home the idea that Romney never really believed in the exreme positions he adopted and is a moderate at heart.
The new “Romnesia” riff can be seen as an answer to this. There’s no need to choose between “extremist” and “flip flopper.” Romney is simply a weasel.”
58,500 Google returns for a search on Romnesia!
I totally agree with this assessment. I always thought there was some risk in calling Willard a flip-flopper — it gave too much comfort to people who thought he wouldn’t be as extreme as he says. #Romnesia instead introduces the element of mockery and derision. It’s more pointed and shows that he simply has bad character and is untrustworthy.
And it builds on an idea that was ALREADY out there. In polls where people are asked about which candidate they think is more honest and trustworthy, President Obama always comes on top, with a comfortable margin.
Except Ann Romney revealed yesterday on the View that the real Romney is the more extreme one – he only played a moderate to get elected.
Amen! And you might have Romnesia if you think the American people can be fooled into believing that someone who wrote an article entitled “Let Detroit Go Bankrupt” gives a damn about the auto industry!
Obama debate bounce is underway!
OK so President Obama has succeeded in putting back doubt in some swing voters’ minds. Not there yet but it’s a good sign. President Obama has still to close the deal. Of course he’s pushing hard the idea that Romney CAN’T be trusted. But he also has to double down on defending his record, reassuring people that America is on the right track ( the numbers are there) and give specifics about his objectives for the next term. I sense he’s actually doing that: I LOVED the end of the speech.
Ha! Great cure.
Tampa Bay Times (FL) endorses PBO!
I had to go tell CarrieF her avatar is fabulous!
It sure is.
Hah! Great one!
You guys are simply the BEST ! I love this site – thanks Chips !
This’ll leave a scar …
“In considering which candidate to endorse, The Salt Lake Tribune editorial board had hoped that Romney would exhibit the same talents for organization, pragmatic problem-solving and inspired leadership that he displayed here more than a decade ago. Instead, we have watched him morph into a friend of the far right, then tack toward the center with breathtaking aplomb. Through a pair of presidential debates, Romney’s domestic agenda remains bereft of detail and worthy of mistrust.
Therefore, our endorsement must go to the incumbent, a competent leader who, against tough odds, has guided the country through catastrophe and set a course that, while rocky, is pointing toward a brighter day. The president has earned a second term. Romney, in whatever guise, does not deserve a first.”
Ouch. California, Massachussetts, Michigan, and now Salt Lake City. Willard is officially homeless.
OMG, you really nailed it!!
That is very tweet wordy!
Yup, the people who know him well, and who are not suffering from Romnesia, are not buying his snake oil.
Holy mother of god!!
Or, as my mother used to say: Jesus, Mary, and Joseph! This is huge!
Wow! They obviously don’t have the #romnesia affliction at the Tribune in Salt Lake.
LOL!!!!
Like, umm, OUCH!! “Romney, in whatever guise, does not deserve a first.”
“… in whatever guise …” They don’t like any Romnesia Romneys!
KaPow-zah. right where it hurts!
Oh, my. Hallelujah.
Very happy about this. They endorsed him in 2008 too.
Damn, there is no end to #Romnesia symptoms!
You were against the president bailing out GM. Write an op-ed about it. Then now say it was your plan the president followed.
You’ve got it bad. Romnesia that is.
The best that a RW troll came up with was PBO eating a dog when he was a child, in response to my #romnesia tweets. Lame.
They got NOTHIN’.
“They got NOTHING” is right!
Wait until PBO chews, spit Romney and the tea pugs out of D.C.
That’s how you eat DAWGS!
I blame this sorryassmedia for contributing to Romensia. They must be held accountable.
Sorry, Romnesia( up above)
Touch on Ipad is very sensitive.
FLOTUS was FIRED UP AND READY TO GO. GOSH I love hearing her speak.
Just finished watching Michelle Obama and boy was she FIRED UP and READY TO GO!!!!! She had me all over the place here at work. I laughed, I wanted to scream, but of course I couldn’t do that because people would find out my secret. and I wanted to cry. She was so passionate!! The Obamas’ really want EVERYONE to have a chance at the American dream. It was just beautiful!! And on a more shallow note, I loved that dress that FLOTUS had on!! FOUR MORE YEARS!!!!!!
LadyTNT, I have heard the speech before, but I never get tired of listening to FLOTUS. And POTUS were pretty good today in Virginia. We have never had a President and First Lady who could give wonderful speeches like our POTUS and FLOTUS.
Excuse me, but… BWAHAHAHAHAHHAAAHAHHHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! Oh yeah, Nov. 6 is going to be a special day.
Yes, indeed!
Thanks Bill! Great news. I was wondering if Florida was still in the cards for us.
And this had a slightly higher sample of Republicans.
…The NewsmaxZogby Poll of Florida likely voters sampled 35 percent Democrats, 37 percent Republicans, and 28 percent independents; 70 percent were white, 15 percent Hispanic, and 13 percent African-American; and 15 percent were ages 18-29, 34 percent ages 30-49, 28 percent ages 50-64, and 23 percent age 65 or older.
And the more those FL seniors see newspaper coverage of VP Joe Biden and find out for sure that their Medicare and Social Security earnings are doomed, the more the word will spread and they’ll vote Obama-Biden.
Fairfax is one of the richest counties in the country. It does my heart good to see so many people at PBO’s rally. We’re on the other side of DC in Maryland (true Blue) and sometimes it’s hard to understand how the people in VA could put somebody like transvaginal Bob in the Governor’s seat. I know PBO won VA last time (blew my mind) and I sure hope he wins it again this time.
If you forgot where you put the registrations, you may have #Romnesia
thank goodness it was discovered. The people who do this kind of thing see nothing wrong with it. It blows my mind they could justify such an action.
This is worrying me. HOW MANY voter registrations have been dumped in the whole USA , especially in the swing states ??
Have you guys seen this video of Romney telling business owners to threaten their employees into voting for him . Pass this along to as many people as you can.
Oooh, got another troll—with 1 whole follower—who slagged on the SLC Tribune endorsement. Really, how much is the GOP paying people to be shills on Twitter?
ROMNESIA!!
ObamaCare covers pre-existing conditions Mittens 🙂
No, thanks, Wolf, you and John just sit and wait for magic by yourselves. The rest of us will hear the poll results indirectly through sane people.
LOL! True.
Just tweeted it to the loser.
They still have a magic wall? CNN is so played out.
Even I know that, CNN, and I’m 66 years old! Ha!
I’m very curious to see the results. I like the Zogby numbers, but his reputation is so-so… There seemed to be a bit of movement to Romney in Florida; unbelievable because of Medicare but … there were a couple of bad polls last week. Oh well, I’ll be elated if Pres. Obama leads in Florida, but if he struggles a bit there, he still has many paths to 270.
Should be interesting. CNN’s spin has been very pro-Romney of late. We’ll see if that impacts the methodology and demographic breakdowns of the poll.
Chips, thank you so much for all these lovely pictures today! Love that sea of blue up thread!
BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA.
This has got to sting. I read and I felt the burn. It’s pretty much his adopted home. He was eyeing Utah for Governor before he switched to MA. Ouch. Just ouch.

Ouch.
Stream is up for VP Biden now: http://www.cnn.com/video/flashLive/live.html?stream=1
Any advice? I see nothing when I click on the link Same thing happened for FLOTUS and I missed her entirely.
Got it, finally…
Sometimes when you click you might see a box that asks you to download something for faster streaming. You can click No/Cancel and then click on the video you want to watch.
If you’re seeing a dark screen it’s either CNN’s fault or you need to restart your computer to wipe out the cookies or something.
Holy carp! Got an email from OFA. I’ve given almost $1200 to the campaign. Man, it doesn’t feel like I’ve given that much. GOBAMA!!!
I just saw that too. Apparently, I’ve donated over $1100! DAYUM! I must have bank I didn’t even know about. Lol
I got one also! My total was $550 and I damn near fell outta my chair when I saw it!
For days they’ve been sending me emails stating my total donation of $3.00. I wondered if they needed a new bookkeeper or something because that’s certainly not the case. Then today they sent me something that looks more like the real deal and I thought, whoa! I think we’ve all been chipping in here and there over the course of a year and it does add up. But I’m glad I’ve done what I could to support our brilliant POTUS. WINNING.

The Winston Salem Journal which somewhat represents a conservative area endorsed PBO for reelection in NC. I have friends and family who voted yesterday and today in NC…I firmly believe NC will remain “Obama blue.” http://www2.journalnow.com/news/2012/oct/14/obama-best-choice-president-ar-2689120/
I’m pretty sure that America should know this! Walsh speaks for the Republicans, after all!! Tweet the daylights out of this!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
http://thinkprogress.org/health/2012/10/19/1047981/joe-walsh-admits-gop-wants-to-end-medicare-as-we-know-it/
(CNN) — Three days before the final presidential debate, a new survey in the biggest of the battleground states indicates the race for the White House is basically tied.
According to a CNN/ORC International poll conducted Wednesday and Thursday, entirely after the second presidential debate, 49% of likely voters in Florida say they support Republican nominee Mitt Romney, with 48% backing President Barack Obama. Romney’s one point margin is well within the survey’s sampling error.
-/
Well, a lot better than the Mason Dixon poll if 7 last week!
LOL! The race for the WH is not tied. Obama’s chances of winning are much greater than Romney, and does not depend on Florida alone 🙂
What is the number among registered voters? I know that CNN and other pollsters love to present these “likely voter” figures after they’ve applied questionable screens that punishes Democrats and rewards Republicans.
http://politicalticker.blogs.cnn.com/2012/10/19/cnn-poll-close-contest-for-floridas-29-electoral-votes/
Okay, so they don’t give any information on how they arrived at their likely voter screen. And they don’t mention what the numbers are among registered voters. Interesting.
PBO up by 7 in RVs. GOTV!
Two other polls today with President Obama ahead in Florida. I’m betting on the CNN poll PBO has a significant lead.
JZ Analytics Florida Poll: Obama leads Romney 48 to 42% in new poll (they are doing a daily tracking) http://www.examiner.com/article/florida-poll-obama-leads-romney-47-to-43-new-poll … via @examinercom
Bill, according to what Jovie posted here, the are in a stasitical tie according to CNN’s likely voter model with Romney at 49% and PBO at 48%. What I want to see are the REGISTERED voter figures and if they are different from the likely voter figures. The pollsters have a tendency to use flawed screens that penalize DEM voters to arrive at the their likely voter numbers.
https://twitter.com/mikedavidsondc/status/259383659142975488
This is important – President Obama’s win is all about ACTUAL TURNOUT. Not the polls and their “likely voter” nonsense.
That’s great stuff!!!
Martin opened his show with “The Doctor Is In The House,” and played a clip of the President in Fairfax, announcing his discovery of the new disease, Romnesia. Michael Eric Dyson on the panel said the other guy has Ryanopia, an accompanying disease. He said the terms are all part of “Bashirology” ! There’s a whole new subculture/pop culture a’brewin’ because of Mitt and Paul, the poor pathetic losers.
“Foot-In-Binder Disease”
Love it, pugeretto.
Oh good!! Martin Bashir going after scum Joe Walsh, #IL08. Good afternoon TODS. Thanks for everything you do Chips.
Awww…..weep for the GOP. 🙄

UniteWomenDC @UniteWomenDC
So, it turns out that #Romnesia is a FTD. A Fox Transmitted Disease.
dmk @movenshake
If you think deficits are immoral, but using threats to scare your employees into voting republican isn’t, you might have #Romnesia.
Aratina Cage @aratina
#Romnesia origins http://www.alternet.org/election-2012/mitt-romneys-heartless-advice-woman-whose-pregnancy-might-have-killed-her?paging=off … Mormon feminists came up with a term for Romney’s calculated lack of memory: “Romnesia.”
For the win!
Is this for real? “Too Many Mitt’s” Salt Lake City Tribune endorses Barack Obama for reelection. http://www.sltrib.com/sltrib/opinion/55019844-82/romney-obama-state-president.html.csp
Don’t know if anyone has already posted this; but, The Salt Lake Tribune has endorsed PBO. A Mormon paper. I couldn’t get a link. I think they provided sound reasons why they are going against their own.
Sorry, posted in wrong place above.
As Jodi Kantor would say, hmm………

The #Romnesia twitter feed is hysterical. 379 tweets in the past 13 minutes. Darn I really should be working!

New post everyone:
http://theobamadiary.com/2012/10/19/this-and-that-43/
In some non-Ohio-centric paid media, the Obama campaign is airing a spot that focuses on teachers and is airing in a slew of battlegrounds, including Colorado.
It uses Romney’s comments on President Obama and class sizes, an issue which tends to play effectively with suburban women.
http://www.politico.com/blogs/burns-haberman/2012/10/and-some-obama-advertising-for-the-other-battlegrounds-139048.html
Thank you as always for these beautiful photos….no enthusiasm gap do I detect anywhere!! Come on, everyone…we have to take this to the finish line! Make those calls, travel to battleground states, volunteer at your local Dem headquarters….Make it count!! We must have four more years of this wonderful President!!
