I thought of the same thing at the start Lunar Sea, and only hesitated to say it because there has been so much talk about people being denied the right to vote. But honestly, like UTAL I have a huge amount of disdain for those who, 3 weeks away from voting and despite the fact Mitt has been on display for so long, can’t make up their minds. I don’t believe it in this election because the differences are stark. Undecideds are either lying, ignorant or seeking attention.

We also have ALL paid election workers (and it’s good pay, I used to do it) – every state has combined state/federal rolls – run by a non-partisan commission – voting always on a Saturday – never have I waited more than 15 minutes to vote

But – we also have less than 30 million people – it would be a major job to implement federal rolls in the US – but it would be so beneficial to everyone. I can check my enrollment on line.

I still think this was a masterfully set up by the OBAMA machine. That was just not like him.

If you are referring to me, I go by smoothscotch and I was comparing the 1st debate to this one. Previous comments I made said it was a strategy (set up for the Ryan takedown) and the followup takedown of Romney, IMO. The strategy, if it was one, WORKED.

First off, I am sure this is not the case, BUT I remember something from my youth that parallels PBO’s debate performance.

I used to be a competitive baton twirler in my youth. When I twirled for shows instead of competitions to audiences not familiar with the scoresheets and difficulties I used a tactic that never failed to get me a standing ovation. I did a repeat trick several times in a row followed by something very difficult BUT I would drop my baton (on purpose) on the difficult trick, sometimes I would even drop it on the second time. By the time I tried it a third time everyone was holding their breath and when I caught it the third time everyone was on their feet applauding. I never would do that in a competition on purpose but there were points taken off there and it was recognized as an error by an astute audience. In a show routine I choreographed it for audience appeal and effect.

For some reason I saw a parallel with PBO’s debate tonight. If his first debate had not been so flat would we have been so elated tonight? Not meaning we should not be elated or in any way that this was not a big deal, BUT without the errors it is hard to rejoice the successes.

Thank you so much Ms. Chips and the TOD family for this up- to- the minute coverage of the debate. I missed the debate because I work part-time in the evening. I will watch a replay on C-Span. However, I’ve spent an hour since I came home reading all your euphoric comments. You all made me feel so good. I am so glad he made all of us proud this evening. I think I will go open a bottle of wine and indulge a little. Rain or shine, my support for President Obama is always 100%!
