Roberta, I’ve been hoping to run into you so that I could ask if you had ever made direct contact with Sue in MN, while she was a regular here? My mind can’t seem to let her go, mainly because she was ill the last few times I ‘saw’ her here and then….. Do you know if she’s alright and just not able to handle the online stuff? She’s left a void because we used to dialogue so well and it’s hard to accept that she just walked away without an ‘au revoir’. Do you remember her? Do you know anything?
Congratulations VC…..all is well again. You are going to have to keep knocking on that TOD door and keep opening it very wide. Why….I love how you write about your conquest and I have missed the stories an awful lot.
No offense to all the others who have climbed the TOD Plateau Village Peak. I am biased and so ‘am so joyous gangman VC style.
O no, Nena, I’m still retired. No stories for you. I was merely peeking through the TOD door to see who was here and Vitamin Lover startled me so I stumbled inside. Pay no attention to my head being a tad ahead of hers.
I cannot afford to fall off the band wagon, Nena, and I have two serious mentors, Pamela and Theo, to see that I don’t. Of course, that’s not to say that if I happen to walk past the door and it’s open and I can’t tell if anyone’s inside yet or not and I peek and I happen to be the first one there that that’s falling off the band wagon. That’s just …that’s just, that’s just …..fortunesmilingonme, and I’m sure most will be happy that fortune found me, and that I’m protecting home turf from intruders and won’t think I’m not sticking to my resolve. 😉 😆 😆
Enjoy the victory, VC. We’ll make sure you don’t fall completely off the wagon, but everyone deserves a victory now and again! If I see you tripping anyone or pushing anyone out of the way, I’ll take action… 🙂
Waiting can be sooo nerve-wracking, Theo! Ever since I came in and noticed that no one else was here YET I’ve been biting my nails as to your response, fearing that you would read me a lecture. Phew! (My mother soured me on ‘lectures’ because she could go on and on while I would be thinking just spank me and get it over with.) No pushing or tripping for me, no siree! Thanks for understanding. Now I can really, really enjoy this smile from fortune. 😆 😆
….including moderation! VC, isnt the fortunesmilingonme just so much more joyful than hanging out waiting… Tho I do know for a fact you mastered the intuitive knack of somehow just knowing when Chips was busting loose with new thread, and that is a certain thrill all in its own class! For me, lately I seem to be landing in some second place spots just from hearing the iPhone ping with a new email! That always astonishes and delight me, because on iPhone I can barely see the keyboard, and usually (never) have my reading glasses on, so second is especially fun! 🙂
Are you kidding? Second is not only fun, it is particularly challenging to accomplish. I’ve been trying for it since the day after my retirement with no way of figuring out how to consistently hit it just right. I’m either too early, or in the crowd. I’ll have to figure out if it’s at all feasible, which would give me a new focus.
WTG, girl! How far behind am I, miles or light years? Heading home soon, errands and banking, then home and will check up, Uh, in on y’all again! Yikes! 😆
Made it safely, before dark, sitting with my kitty in my lap, Chicken Chausseur with noodles, grilled mushrooms and roasted eggplant, quite tasty although I admit I did not make it myself! VC, Sue has been in and out, I think I last saw a post from her within the week, I know she is busy and has a lot going on, as well as her health challenges. She was gone for several months, but some of us mentioned to her we missed her terribly, and then she came back to us, and we rejoiced! The current silence is only a ‘seeming silence’, right Sue? 🙂
Glad you are in safe and sound, Miss Pamela, and that meal sounds ‘tasty’. Your tea is ready whenever you are. It’s freshly picked mint this time.
Sue Duvall (who uses capitals, and has recently returned ) is not the same as Sue in MN. I’m hoping strongly that Sue in MN drops in to say ‘hi’ on election night, if not before. I’ll wait and hope quietly.
I would be sooo happy if you have, Pamela, maybe I need to check out the middle of the night tweets. Of course there’d be too many to go through blindly, so if you have a sense of approx which day you think you saw her I’d be grateful.
I can’t imagine that American voters can’t figure out what Romneybot 2.0 will do if he gets into the White House. He’ll destroy the American working class and only work for his rich friends.
Thank you Bobfr. Thank you. The media should have been on this four years ago.
If you don’t mind: Among many of the things that Lying Ryan said that has been bothering me all week is his making reference to PBO eloquent speeches, as if they were a bad thing.
After eight years of that bumbling fool Bush who could not even read his speeches, it is a a wonderful thing to hear a President who speaks with ease, eloquence, intelligence ,confidence and poise. Instead of that fool who stood there and forgot what he standing there for, needless to say who he was. Even I was embarrassed for him, so embarrassed I could not watch him.
Lying Ryan and those ignoramuses have the nerve to complain.
There are a handful of Sensata videos on YouTube and some have been there since early summer. So if you all want to add a ‘new’ video to your #Sensata tweets check ’em out. Here are a couple
#Sensata has been asking Mitt 4 help since June https://t.co/YDovXMfk. Is this his answer? ‘My job is not to worry about those people’
You wrong me, Hf! 😥 I’ve given that up. I’ve turned over a new leaf. I’ve …I’ve… I’ve… I really had just returned from a trip downtown, opened the door to peAk in…and voila! /plaintive wail/ Why don’t you and Nena believe me? 😥
Thank YOU! It’s more than time for more people to see Mitt’s core. Any rational politician would have made a pretence of responding to these Americans by now, if only because it’s an election year, ‘for pete’s sake’. Mitt’s people set the cops to remove them, much like Ryan did with that senior citizen at his town hall meeting. If they’re not in the WH (yet) and they have no patience for the average joe/jane, will they ever show any?
You are right about TJ, Jovie! Unlike you I am not that thankful about the Louisiana purchase because almost all the states curved from that territory are red sates now.
So that should tell them something. The Obama supporters have healthy, interesting lives and on Fridays, they are working during the day, and out to dinner/movie/friends/dates at night. The Willard supporters are spending their whole day Friday sitting and waiting for the phone to ring (their only human interaction all week).
The past few days the country has lost its mind. I really think it’s regaining it. Joe began it Thursday. The Sensata story is breaking at the worst time for Mitt. And PBO will slice and dice Willard on Tuesday. We’ve got this. Now we have to destroy the GOP.
I notice, whenever Robney has a weakness, he accuses the President of it first.
It’s all he said in Ohio today. It always should be a clue, he is hiding something similar.
Indeed – it’s the same way that Paul Ryan kept repeating the line about “when you don’t have a record to run on, your only tactic is to tell people to be afraid of your opponent”. They telegraph their agenda and project their own weaknesses. It’s pretty pathetic.
Wow! Just going through the VP debate threads, loved all the comments! Congrats on first vc, thanks for this wonderful blog Ms Chips, and WTG to Bob and all of our fantastic Twitter warriors!
Very kind of you Jovie, but I’m a foot solider, not a general and we have so many fantastic members of the TOD making significant contributions on Twitter I have a hard time keeping up with all of them. But, I really do appreciate the kindness of your comment.
Right on Jovie. Don’t forget UT, amk, LL, meta, collegekay, BWD, VC, Alice, Jackie (s), gobrooklyn, betsy, dotster, theo, and many many more 🙂 The TOD Twitter brigade is a force to be reckoned with!!
ugh, one of the reasons I never joined the military. A morning person I AM NOT. 😆 Fortunately, the wife and our animals share my enjoyment at sleeping in on the weekend.
Great news! Increased his lead by one. I was expecting it to be much closer. Romney has peaked, now we just have to keep our feet on the pedal to GOTV the next 3.5 weeks and keep those tweets going.
but 7 days Bobfr47? That is a bunch of malarkey. Why wait just because you have a former worker booked next weekend when there is plenty to discuss before then.
Yes indeed, hopefruit! I received a delicious e-mail from OFA reporting the great news. The numbers of new people who have been registered by OFA in Iowa, Ohio, Virginia, Florida, Colorado and North Carolina, are quite impressive! I am really impressed with all the Obama supporters who refused to be intimidated by all the talk about billionaires and millionaires pouring money to defeat the President. My special thanks to TOD and all the fundraisers on this site. Thanks also to all the people here who have been volunteering to register new voters. I get paid to-morrow and I will once again chip in. We are almost there! We cannot relax until Nov. 7th. As Bobfr says, we really need to crash these know-nothing tea baggers who have no qualms destroying the country in order to regain power.
My Phoenix local news just reported the latest poll that President Obama is leading Mitt Romney 44 to 42. They also reported that our senate race between Rich Carmona and Jay Flake has Dem Carmona leading 44 to40. This is huge TOD!
I was born and raised in Arizona and have never lived anywhere else. Believe it or not, there was a time when Arizonans were sane and more moderate. I so hope we continue to move more left. It has been a very long time.
I sure hope so, jackie, I sure hope so. imo, AZ has become the fountainhead of hateful racism and with this election cycle, I sure hope it turns the corner.
Sad but true AMK. I have seen a shift lately since the economy is improving and I see lots of Obama bumper stickers – many more than Romney and having a crazy Governor has helped bring things more into prospective.
I remember those days too Jackie 4 Obama! I especially loved your Congressman, Mo Udall! You’ve also had a few great and progressive governors, including Secretary Janet Napoleano. In hindsight, even your Mr. Conservative, B. Goldwater, was not as crazy as the current tea baggers dominating the GOP in your state.
I’m here now, amk:) Dancing and prancing!!! Smiling from ear to ear…but it’s not over until the votes are counted and the day is done! We ALL have to GOTV!! If we win this, you won’t be able to PAY me to wipe the smile off my face:)
Great, great, news, Jackie! I’ve been very supportive of Dr. Carmona. I think on Nov.6th he will be the surprise upset winner of the night. And if the President can carry Arizona, that will be the icing on the cake.
Agreed. I think the total batshitcrazy in this state must have gone just a little TOO FAR. Good. Need some sanity around here. The adults need to grab the reins form these imbeciles .
Yes indeed, df! In addition to re-electing the President on Nov.6th what would please me more is to see Arizona return to sanity by electing Rich Carmona as U. S. Senator to replace the vile Jon Kyl.
YEA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have been down at OFA all afternoon today…data entry and some phonebanking….in my own little world there. This is a BFD!! We CAN DO THIS! People I spoke with today told me they were voting Dem all the way. If we vote, we win. Simple as that. Thanks, Jackie!!
You are spot-on, amk! Something has happened to Nate Silver! Obviously he would rather believe in the LV than in actual voters who have cast their votes.
Trust me, he knew that very well, but he’s been outed by Deaniac (TPV) among others, and his methodology is being questioned so he’s now feigning surprise…
I totally agree. I’ve been calling his bullshite on Twitter with him using ARG in his friggin model. I’m sure it had zero influence on him but it made me feel better!
I don’t argue his stats hf – just the polls that go into them. Nate only excludes those that are proven to be frauds (had at least one last election). What will happen now is that those polls you mistrust will become outliers – and count for little.
The real story is not Nate Silver – the real story is the GOP persuading the media to tout for their guy – the media wanted a race & were prepared to lie and pimp for the GOP to get it.
Nate is a fraud. He is protecting his job with NYTimes and accepts nearly all polls at face value, and their “likely voter” screens. And should know different if he doesn’t.
He wasn’t a fraud when he had President Obama leading 86-14 – He isn’t a fraud now. He may have lousy data. He has ALWAYS used “likely voter” data when it is available. He may reconsider that choice is it is proven that the “likely data” is invalid
Nice try. You’re playing that false equivalency game. When Silver’s models showed Obama’s probably of winning at 84%, he was basing his data on a variety of polls from ALL sources, but most of them were largely reputable and the numbers were consonant with what people were reporting on the ground, etc. In the past week, the majority of the polling since the first debate has been based on a slew of Republican polls with questionable cross tabs and funky demographic weightings.
If you believe that a poll that shows Romney winning 50% of the AA vote in CO, then I have a bridge to sell you. Nate incorporated that poll as well as the Mason Dixon FL poll showing Rommey ahead by 7pts in FL and leading by 30 pts among Latinos. And he kept sending periodic but regular tweets to let everyone know how “well” Romney was doing and how “badly” Obama was doing.
99ts – nate himself in admitting in his own tweet that he is unable ‘to reconcile’ with the reality. His last few poll additions have been horrible outlier rw polls and he admits it in his own column.
Yes, he was good in 2008 but now, I wouldn’t trust him as much as I did in 2008.
Please – I am 500% for the President – I have never had time for Nate’s analysis – he is NO pundit – especially since he joined the NYT – I just don’t kill the messenger, because I believe his statistics are correct, that the polls are way out of kilter is another story – the message of the “likely voters” is looking horrible – and after a week of misery I’m so happy about that. I might even go back & look at Nate’s figures – I haven’t been there for 2 weeks.
I don’t have an argument with anyone here – please don’t think that I do.
I never questioned your support for PBO – so the 500% disclaimer is unnecessary in the context of what we’re discussing right now.
I’m not the only one who has had misgivings about Silver’s agenda with his probability models this past week. And there is a reason for that – as and I, and several other bloggers on TOD and elsewhere have stated.
It might be noted that some of the state polls released on Friday were from firms that have had Republican-leaning results, and they might slightly exaggerate his standing. It is unlikely, for instance, that Mr. Romney would win New Hampshire by four percentage points right now, as implied by an American Research Group poll of the state.
But even polls that are Republican- or Democratic-leaning can still be useful in detecting the race’s trend, and it is one that clearly favors Mr. Romney.
99ts, with all due respect, while your assessment of Silver is generous, it’s not accurate. Nate Silver and rest of the media have a professional and ethical obligation to not be “persuaded” by political interests while pretending to be objective.
Mr. Silver is considered the go-to guy for election polling trends among many voters. So he was a huge part of the hysteria that ensued when he incorporated the GOP push- polls with missing crosstabs or demographic data, in his models as valid. Furthermore, he began adding value statements to his tweets, describing Obama’s numbers as “awful” – a word he has NEVER used to describe Romney’s numbers.
Earlier this week and last weekend, Jefferson Obama and many others on Twitter and elsewhere pointed out the problems with those GOP polls but Silver arrogantly dismissed them until he got outed today by Deaniac on TPV.
I would think it’s not that difficult to find out. Of all the Ohio voters that PPP has polled just take the percentage that would have normally been excluded from a likely voter screen. My guess is a HUGE percentage of them are college students who the campaign has been focusing on – after the rallies, etc. Although I doubt that these were even polled by PPP since they don’t do cell phones. Obama support in Ohio is probably greater than even the 5 point edge in this poll….
Serious answer: Starting to look that way. Between cell phones and unrealistic demographic data that doesn’t keep up with reality…likely voter screens have to be taken with a grain of salt.
Okay, those Ohio numbers are great. And keep in mind that they said Saturday numbers were better than Friday numbers, so his margin on Saturday had to be better tha the 51 he is showing overall. Also, the real important thing is that he moved over the 50% margin. Once over that it is hard to fall back, specially this late in the game. Also, I am assuming this is likely voter turnout, which usually doesn’t include new registrations. Plus (lots of good things here) this is the kind of thing that can dampen the Republican enthusiasm, specially after working so hard to come back. It is kind of like a football team (either type) that is down 3 scores, gets to within 1 late in the game, and the opponent gets a big score. Wipes the winds form the sails of the team trying to come back. And finally, remember PPP had said that a) the VP debate didn’t seem to change people’s minds and b) they used a Dem +5 instead of the 2008 model of Dem +8.
Without Ohio, Romney is doomed. To me, this means the fallout is stopped and even a tie on Tuesday favors PBO.
Excellent comment! Also important is the fact that Democrats have registered more new voters in Ohio than Republicans. I don’t know if the LV model takes into account new voters, who, in my experience, tend to be very enthusiastic about voting for the first time.
You know what, TienLe, I am absolutely convinced that President Obama would do better in Ohio this year than he did in 2008! I have friends in Cincinnati and Cleveland and, anecdotally, they say that supporters of President Obama, contrary to the media propaganda, are more organized and more fired up than 2008. Besides, Obama’s Auto bail-out is very popular in parts of Ohio, like Toledo, that have seen real tangible job creation as well as jobs saved. So, It’s not far fetched to suggest that President Obama is likely to win 54% of the votes in Ohio.
Some right-wing nuts are attacking PPP about this poll result. They don’t believe that Ohio voters trust PBO over Romney on Libya. They are so dumb. It was Romney who was criticized by republican and democratic foreign policy experts for politicizing Amb. Steven’s death. This only happened a few weeks ago, and they think that because they’ve forgotten that Romney did this, everyone else has also forgotten.
People forget that voters in Ohio are moderate in their views and that is why they soundly rejected attempts to destroy Unions last year – Ohio is a very unionized state compared to others.
I expect the Ohio Fraternal Order of Police which usually supports gop to endorse PBO due to union-rights.
Furthermore, although we may rival with Michigan in football, both OH and MI are extremely grateful to PBO for saving the auto-industry – think it is a coincidence PBO’s weekly address today was on the auto-bailout. Ohio has auto plants and auto-parts manufacturers who owe their jobs directly to PBO.
Even the unemployment rate in OH is below the national average although it was higher when PBO took office.
I think among the swing states, Ohio is the true swing state – goes to Dem then GOP. But once voters have trusted a presidential candidate, it is very hard to abandon him/her. Prez Clinton won it twice, Bush won it twice and I believe PBO will win it twice.
Here is some 411 on what’s going on in Williamsburgh VA.-
WILLIAMSBURG, Va. — President Barack Obama arrived here Saturday afternoon for three days of debate prep, and he won’t have to look past his staff to learn about his surroundings.
The Obama campaign’s traveling press secretary, Jen Psaki, and communications director, Brent Colburn, are graduates of Williamsburg’s College of William & Mary, the second-oldest college in the nation.
Joe Biden’s 2-Minute Explanation Of The Economy That Every American Needs To See
By LOLGOP
—————————–
Here’s some good news: The most watched moment of the vice-presidential debate also appears to be one of Joe Biden’s best. When the subject finally turned to the economy, the vice-president gave a two-minute answer that did three crucial things.
First, it gave a cohesive narrative of the economy over the last four years, then he called out Mitt Romney’s 47 percent comments and finally he blasted Romney, Paul Ryan and the Republicans who got us into this mess as the guys who won’t take responsibility for their own actions.
Watch it again and share with a non-comatose undecided voter if you can find one.
Ladyhawke and Bobfr, thanks for sharing this again! The VP was on fire and masterfully laid out the facts. I get so tired of people who seem to be afflicted with amnesia! This administration inherited the greatest economic mess since the Great Depression of the 1930’s. On top of that, it inherited two wars, and an international environment that had soured on America. Any objective person knows that four years later, the United States is in a much better place than it was when President Obama and Vice-President Biden took office. I also think that the country would be in an even much better place than now if the voters hadn’t lost their minds when they elected tea baggers to dominate the Congress.
She should be challenged to exert tight control in the debate, and to confront candidates if they push lies that have been debunked, or if they contradict previous positions ( which means confront Romney lol)
Mitt Romney might be the most brazen political liar since James Polk, who served as the 11th U.S. president (1845-1849) and lied through his teeth – to Congress, to his cabinet, to the newspapers – to get the country into a war with Mexico.
Of course, other presidents have lied to a similar end, for instance President Lyndon Johnson on the Vietnam War and President George W. Bush on the Iraq War. But Polk operated with the same audacious “lying is part of what I do” disposition that Mitt Romney does.
James Polk, the 11th President of the United States.
If one has any doubt about Mitt Romney’s mendacious temperament, the first presidential debate should have put it to rest. According to one analyst, Romney let loose with “27 myths in 38 minutes,” finishing with a big grin after most of these prevarications. He produced trumped-up assertions, false statistics and wild exaggerations about taxes, energy independence, job creation, the deficit, Medicare, “Obamacare,” and military spending.
WHY ISN’T THIS BEING SHOUTED FROM THE MOUNTAIN TOPS??
Global Index Praises U.S. As ‘Sole Bright Spot’ In Sluggish World Economy
By Joe Conason
——————————–
Unemployment is still too high, income is still too low, and the recovery is still too slow – but the United States is faring considerably better than other developed nations against the threat of a renewed recession and remains “the brightest spot in the world economy,” according to the latest indicators tracked by the Financial Times and the Brookings Institution. Known as TIGER, or Tracking Indices for the Global Economic Recovery, the comprehensive data report compiled by the London-based business daily and the centrist Washington think tank provides a factual context for the U.S. presidential debate.
Favorable comparison with other nations, in a faltering world economy, may reinforce President Obama’s argument that his policies are working despite jobs statistics that remain deeply troubling. Moreover, criticism of Obama by Republican Mitt Romney may well be regarded as less credible if the U.S. economy is in fact performing better than every other developed country — especially those pursuing the austerity policies advocated by Romney and his running mate, Rep. Paul Ryan.
The mainstream media would be trumpeting this news from the mountaintops, if the President were Republican. Hopefully, President Obama will find a way of pushing this at the second debate.
Great piece about willard the habitual liar. Maybe this has been posted already. EVERYONE HERE KNOWS IT ALREADY!
But Polk operated with the same audacious “lying is part of what I do” disposition that Mitt Romney does. . . . . . .
Seriously, Bob? Dude! 24/7 rain. 24/7 rain. 24/7 rain. Back in the fold, son. Nothing to see here, folks. Seattle is soggy, dreary, overcrowded. 24/7 rain.
That said, if this ever does happen, and amk arrives here in our sublime region, oh please do let Tien Le and myself know so we may present another facet of TOD! Wouldn’t that be just so much fun! 🙂
Once you leave Seattle, please stop by for a visit in God’s Country, beautiful British Columbia, Canada! In fact, how about the Seattle crew come on up?
To be honest, AMK, Seattle is really a beautiful city with some of the nicest people. At least that’s how I remember it when I last visited there in the 1988. But my precious niece spent a week in Seattle last month and She loved it very much. But that rain thing is for real; especially at this time of the year. My alternate suggestion is that if you do make it to LA to visit LL, all you need to do is head a short distance South to sunny San Diego — otherwise known as America’s finest city. Here yo will enjoy good wine (or any other drink you prefer) delicious seafood (grilled Salmon with lobster sauce is my favorite) and, above all, perfect weather. I can absolutely assure you that you would love San Diego. And, if you so wish, we can go visit La Jolla (20minutes drive from my home) to see Romney’s house where he is building an elevator for his car.
I read it as 10 million donations (at the time), which means its more now) from (currently now) 4 million single contributors.
1 contributor can give multiple times.
I think you are absolutely right globalcitizenlinda. The 4 million donors reported to day are those of the people who have, at least, given one donation; but many others of those 4 millions may have given more than one donation, hence the 10 million donations. I know I have donated more than once.
Thought I would tell you what my beloved James Taylor is doing in NC…..JT and his wife are going to OFA offices in different towns and giving mini concerts to keep volunteers pumped…Tonight he is having a fund raiser for PBO in Blowing Rock….have couple of friends going…above my $$ level….he was in Wilmington and Huntersville earlier this week……I adore him and his music but I think I might have fallen in love knowing just how hard he is working for PBO….on HIS dime….Please someone post a JT “Carolina on my Mind” video…I don’t know how to do it
Thanks for this beautiful song. Seared into my brain as a freshman in Chapel Hill (and thus one of my faves). Love me some Sweet Baby James, fellow Tarheel! 🙂
Kathryn, thank you for that delightful update. James Taylor is doing so much for our President.
And, did you hear the news that The Boss has decided to go all in and support the Obama Campaign and will be joining President Clinton at a rally in OH next week.
He and JT are two of my most favorite musical artists.
Thank you for posting that…as tears are trickling down my cheeks….I am convinced that all the concerts he gave in 2008 really helped pull PBO over the line in((use to be red but now blue) NC…only 4,000 votes…and I was so lucky to attend …I hope we get to see the concert with the 2 Bosses(sp?)….can you imagine it if PBO would show up?….I think I saw the Boss was doing Iowa the day before the Ohio one……you know, listening to JT, reminds me so much of PBO…..quietly doing his thing with a BIG BANG!!!!!!!!!!!!
Well PBO has really expanded my music tastes….Will.I. Am, that cute little rapper guy down thread, the BOSS, and of course JT(actually the last two before PBO.)…and I’m older than all of them but not much older than JT….now if we could just get Josh Grobin off his but and out working for us my music life would be complete.
PBO has a plus 2 in Arizona. I just can’t wait for the media to sensationalize this! Oh wait… It’s a favoring the president, they’ll probably down play it instead.
Bill Maher Torches the Right For Being Completely Wrong About Obama
By: Jason Easley
==================
ven though the right was totally wrong about their Obama predictions four years ago, they are doubling down on them in 2012. Anti-choice groups are claiming that if Obama wins a second term, abortion will be free and paid for on the government dime. The NRA is claiming that going to take away guns in his second term, and the biggest lie of all is that “religious freedom” will be under assault if President Obama is reelected.
A good look back at the history of presidential campaigning over the last 20 years reveals that it doesn’t matter who the Democrat is, the right claims doom is just an Election Day away, and they are always completely, totally, and absolutely wrong.
The sad part is that the people behind these groups know they are wrong, but that doesn’t stop them from whipping the rubes into a frenzy.
The dirty little secret behind these is that it doesn’t matter if they are right or wrong.
Believe it or not, even at my age, I loved this…..not JT but fantastic in it’s on way! Maybe PBO should just play this rather than debating…it sure hits all the high spots…
Oh, I know, just being funny….PBO is PBO…just let him do HIS thing….you know, at this point, I’m just going to watch relaxed…I didn’t think he did bad last time…what do I know?…..but I was absolutely FURIOUS at the damn lies….just enraged….still am…..
So, the Space shuttle is stuck in the streets of LA.
Apparently, not enough room to move, need to cut s couple trees down!
This is NASA, afterall, so I am sure they will figure it out.
CNN all over it.
How Mitt Romney will benefit from closing Sesnata.
As mentioned in the bullet-points above, Bain/Romney will receive tax deductions after closing the factory in Freeport. Huffington Post takes a closer look at the tax benefits for Romney.
• Romney transferred $701,703 worth of Sensata stock to the Tyler Charitable Foundation, a 501(c)3 tax-exempt nonprofit controlled by Romney.
• Moving the stock to his nonprofit brings Romney twin benefits. First, he gets to deduct the full value of the stock. At a 35 percent tax rate, that’s nearly a $250,000 benefit. At 15 percent, it’s just over $100,000.
• Romney is able to avoid paying capital gains taxes on the stock price increase. Romney’s returns list no cost for the stock, and indicate he obtained them as part of a partnership interest in Bain. Avoiding capital gains taxes on the full increase would save an additional $100,000.
• In 2010, Romney gifted $170,000 worth of Sensata stock to his charity, saving $25,000 in capital gains taxes that year.
Fucking Taker comes to mind…along with crook and liar.
Look at the photo on the bottom…the one with the 3 flags flying……and the Chinese flag IS HIGHER THAN THE US FLAG! NOT OK!!! MAybe someone should Tweet that Mitt is no patriot and show that photo of Mitt’s business!!!
(g) When flags of two or more nations are displayed, they are to be flown from separate staffs of the same height. The flags should be of approximately equal size. International usage forbids the display of the flag of one nation above that of another nation in time of peace.
No person shall display the flag of the United Nations or any other national or international flag equal, above, or in a position of superior prominence or honor to, or in place of, the flag of the United States at any place within the United States or any Territory or possession thereof:

As Bain’s founder, he established its business model, which is to wring the maximum efficiency from a company for the benefit of Bain’s investors, even if that means closing plants, shipping jobs to China, and laying off American workers. That’s how private equity often works, and Bain has done it many times before, sometimes to the benefit of a company’s workers, and sometimes to their detriment.
When Bain first led a buyout of Sensata, in fact, it laid off hundreds of American workers and sent their jobs offshore. As the Times reported, the Labor Department spent $780,000 retraining some of the laid-off employees.
In addition, Mr. Romney’s generous retirement agreement ensures that he continues to profit from the deals and decisions that Bain makes. He owns about $8 million worth of Bain funds that hold 51 percent of Sensata’s shares. If Sensata saves money by closing the Freeport plant, that could add money to Mr. Romney’s trust accounts, now or after the election.
There’s soooo much WRONG with willard and his history I think it wasn’t that hard for the campaign to sandbag a little and save numerous sickening WILLARD THINGS up for the the bitter end and unleash if it was needed. I would type right now that willard is SO dishonest and unethical that he actually embodies EVIL, but, well I won’t type that. Of course willard and the koch-rove-citizens(NOT)united are right now carpet-bombing a tidal wave of false SHIT against PBO. Too bad that the AMERICAN PEOPLE ARE ON TO THEM. So, only fair we are countering with a onslaught of THE TRUTH!!

Serious proposal: White House/political reporters should pool questions they would like Jon Stewart to ask Obama… If POTUS is not going to talk to press, perhaps Stewart could pass on press questions.
PBO will handle Stewart and his friends in the GOP media just fine. PBO will reach the voters – and Stewart will come off childish if he tries to one-up the President or embarrass him. Stewart would be well advised to take a page from David Letterman’s book.
Just heard FLOTUS and VP Biden will be in North Carolina next week, FLOTUS will be speaking at UNC-Chapel Hill Tuesday. If I’m not mistaken VP Biden will be in Greensboro. Early voting starts here that Thursday Oct. 18th. Can’t wait.
It is also clear from the video that the young people know the critical role that Ohio plays in the election since they feature the flag for the State of Ohio very prominently throughout the video.
and after typing more than I ever have on a blog, I am going to peel pears, put them in sugar overnight to make good old southern pear preserves tomorrow…..will break out a jar on Nov. 7th to have with hot biscuits and champagne…y’all are invited for breakfast!
I’ve seen some stuff about the Sensata factory that there was never a Chinese flag flown. Not sure if that is accurate but it’s probably best to keep it on the real story which is laying off American workers and shipping those jobs to China. The flag thing may be untrue and then becomes a diversion/distraction from the true sickening story about Mitt Romney, clearly should be banned from seeking public office.
I would type right now that willard is SO dishonest and unethical and those characteristics are key to his vast wealth that he actually embodies EVIL, but, well I won’t type that.
“For the latest work, Sproul is using a company called Issue Advocacy Partners, set up in April at an attorney’s office in Delaware ….This spring, Issue Advocacy Partners was paid $500,000 by the Wisconsin Republican Party for work during the recall race of Gov. Scott Walker, campaign finance reports show.”
What ho TOD Peeps! My team ran a KICK-ASS phonebank today. In addition to signed up volunteers, we had walk-ins rolling in in a stready stream. People re-energized and determined to make sure our illustrious Prez gets back in the White House seemed like they were coming out the woodwork today to make phone calls. It also helped that it was a bee-yoo-ti-ful day out today in the City of Angels. Then as I was shutting down the event, two cars rolled up full of more volunteers, ready to make phone calls. 😆 Got them committed to come back to our next event. Lots of people at our phone bank today talking about our VP’s takedown of the “blue eyed granny starver” AND how impressed and moved that our Prez’ spoke to the Latino community in Spanish in one of his ads earlier this week. Full press to GOTV is ON y’all. #4MoreFor44! Let’s Do This!
These women prove that, with age, comes wisdom. They should be cloned. Just sayin’…..
What does it say about the Republican Party that despite our being the richest country on the planet, all they can worry about is how expensive it is to take care of our elderly, our sick and our less fortunate? What kind of statement are they making when they focus almost exclusively on how much richer we could all be if we just spend a little less money on the sick and the elderly? There are more billionaires in America than in the next 10 richest countries combined. We are actually millionaires when it comes to the number of millionaires with almost 5 million Americans having that distinction – more than the next 10 countries combined. But the way Ryan describes it you would never know that the tax burden for American workers is one of the lowest on Earth… or that our defense budget is ten times greater than the next closest country.
The federal budget that Ryan apparently keeps next to his bible has a revenue line of more than $2 trillion dollars. That would be a two followed by twelve zeros. Twelve. It seems to me that Ryan should have a whole lot more than Medicare and Social Security to discuss before he gets to that last zero. We are debating the price of Medicare and Social Security but not the cost of war. I guess that’s why I am not a math person. The bottom line has never had all the answers for me.
Winston-Salem Journal endorses Obama: Obama is best choice for president (endorsed McCain in ’08)
Americans have a clear choice between two presidential candidates with starkly different ideas for spurring the economy, providing for the health of our people, defending our interests abroad, educating our children and protecting our environment. We believe that President Barack Obama’s progress on these issues merits him a second term in the White House.
Four years ago on this page, we endorsed Republican U.S. Sen. John McCain of Arizona over Obama. We wrote that we were impressed with Obama, but McCain would “bring the Iraq war to a successful conclusion, work to end American dependence on foreign oil, reduce America’s output of climate-changing gases and begin the rebuilding of our economy.”
The Democratic president has done all those things and more. He is calm under pressure and courageous in standing up for the rights of all Americans, including the poor, veterans, the elderly, women, gays and immigrants. In contrast, we’ve sometimes found it hard in the last few weeks to tell just what Obama’s challenger, former Massachusetts governor Mitt Romney, really stands for.
A debt collector, angered that a disabled US Army veteran was living off of disability payments, told him he “should have died” in war instead of “taking advantage of” other Americans.
Minnesota-based debt collection agency Gurstel Chargo is now facing a lawsuit for verbally abusing the Army vet over a $6,000 defaulted student loan, Courthouse News reports.
“If you would have served our country better you would not be a disabled veteran living off Social Security while the rest of us honest Americans work our asses off,” one of the agency’s debt collectors allegedly told the vet. “Too bad, you should have died.”
Michael Collier was declared 100 per cent disabled after suffering permanent spine and head injuries while in the Army. As a result, both Collier and his wife receive disability payments from the federal Social Security Administration, which are exempt from seizure by debt collectors.
President Barack Obama and Republican challenger Mitt Romney are neck and neck in opinion polls, but there is one area in which the incumbent appears to have a big advantage: those who have already cast their ballots.
A class action lawsuit was filed against Bain alleging they participated in a “bidding club” where private equity firms colluded to withhold bidding on companies they sought to buy out so as to lower the price by eliminating competition. If true, this is not only a tort but a criminal conspiracy in violation of anti-trust laws. Last week the judge made the complaint public that had previously been heavily redacted by Bain lawyers. The alleged activity began in 2003, one year after Romney’s name no longer appeared on Bain documents, but discovery is ongoing. If the Justice Dept. gets involved, people might be going away for a long time. E-mails obtained through discovery from Bain and others supposedly make a strong case for collusion.
By Don Jeffrey and Devin Banerjee on October 11, 2012
“…Top executives at buyout firms including Blackstone Group LP (BX), KKR & Co. (KKR), Bain Capital Partners LLC and Carlyle Group (CG) LP assured each other in e-mails that they wouldn’t compete on deals to avoid driving up prices and angering competitors, according to a now public court complaint.
The correspondence was cited as evidence that the firms rigged bids in 19 leveraged buyouts and eight other transactions, including the biggest deals of the leveraged buyout boom, according to the amended complaint unsealed yesterday by a federal judge in Boston. …”
Maybe they can’t tie Romney directly to this criminal activity, but if the allegations are true, it looks like most of his fortune is based on dirty money.
Here’s a copy of the complaint, made public for the first time last week.

our years ago, in endorsing Democrat Barack Obama for president, we noted his intellect, his temperament and equanimity under pressure. He was unproven, but we found him to be presidential, in all that that word implies.
In that, we have not been disappointed. This is a serious man. And now he is a proven leader. He has earned a second term.
Mr. Obama sees an America where the common good is as important as the individual good. That is the vision on which the nation was founded. It is the vision that has seen America through its darkest days and illuminated its best days. It is the vision that underlies the president’s greatest achievement, the Affordable Care Act. Twenty years from now, it will be hard to find anyone who remembers being opposed to Obamacare.
He continues to steer the nation through the most perilous economic challenges since the Great Depression. Those who complain that unemployment remains high, or that economic growth is too slow, either do not understand the scope of the catastrophe imposed upon the nation by Wall Street and its enablers, or they are lying about it.
///
If more Americans were paying attention, this election would not be close. Barack Obama would win going away, at least 53 to 47, perhaps even 99 to 1.
But the atmosphere has been polluted by lies, distortion, voter suppression and spending by desperate plutocrats who see the nation’s changing demographics and fear that their time is almost up. They’ve had the help of a partisan Supreme Court.
The question for voters is actually very simple. The nation has wrestled with it since its founding: Will this be government for the many or the few?
Just now saw it cb4o in LL’s mini-thread.. Thank you very much for the kind invite.
God’s Country, eh ?
There is a state in India, Kerala, that has also staked its claim as God’s Own Country. :). It’s also a beautiful state with plenty of mountains, forests, falls and rivers. And their wimmin are hawties too. 🙂
😕
Only peeking in to see who is here.
Congrats, vcprezofan2.
TY, VL.
Are you on a roll today VC? Congrats.
No, no, I’ve retired, but TY. 😳
Happy days are here are again……
O no, Nena, I’m still retired. No stories for you. I was merely peeking through the TOD door to see who was here and Vitamin Lover startled me so I stumbled inside. Pay no attention to my head being a tad ahead of hers.
I am sad. But I understand. I will still hope for a change of heart…..perhaps soon?
Believe me – I am VERY good at giving very long lectures, but I know how hard it’s been for you resisting the podium. You deserve to enjoy it today! 🙂
Moderation in all things. TY I’m learning….I think. 😉 😉
Sweet! 🙂
Congrats vc
😳 Hi there, Jackie ‘my lovely’!
WTG, girl! How far behind am I, miles or light years? Heading home soon, errands and banking, then home and will check up, Uh, in on y’all again! Yikes! 😆
I’ll put the water on for your tea – hurry up, though nothing ‘exciting’ is really happening!
Oh, how silly of me…. I do feel I have seen Sue in MN lately, but I am really only on early, late and a mid-day peek in.. PDT.
I would be sooo happy if you have, Pamela, maybe I need to check out the middle of the night tweets. Of course there’d be too many to go through blindly, so if you have a sense of approx which day you think you saw her I’d be grateful.
OBAMA/BIDEN 2012!!!!
@TheNewDeal Let’s BREAK ALL TWITTER RECORDS & keep #Sensata trending until Tues’s Debate. Make sure every American is aware of #Sensata!
In our dreams!
Hahahahaaha. Good one.
I’m tweeting #sensata. Mittnocchio is a traitor to this country. I cannot believe what he is doing to these American workers.
I can’t imagine that American voters can’t figure out what Romneybot 2.0 will do if he gets into the White House. He’ll destroy the American working class and only work for his rich friends.
I have been retweeting like crazy!!
You sure have, dear Betsy!!! Thank you!!!
#FORWARD
😀
Give me a break!
There are a handful of Sensata videos on YouTube and some have been there since early summer. So if you all want to add a ‘new’ video to your #Sensata tweets check ’em out. Here are a couple
Thanks vc. RT’d!
NP, Hf, and how are you today?
Doing well my friend – thanks! I noticed you were back to your usual leaning-on-door strategy again! 🙂

This @#$%^& makes me sick.
That John Adams fella—-“quite a guy!” Willard Romney—–quite a pathetic guy! Most cringe-worthy human ever in the history of time.
Yes, he of the Sedition Act.
John Adams was Big Government, used to argue with Thomas Jefferson all the time.
It was Thomas Jefferson who wanted states rights, small government.
I thought it was the other way around….
Nope. Jefferson ran on small government and when elected, was hypocritical when he made the Louisiana purchase. Thank goodness he did.
You are right about TJ, Jovie! Unlike you I am not that thankful about the Louisiana purchase because almost all the states curved from that territory are red sates now.
LOL!
I take the tea baggers will also blame that on PBO?
And, you just know how enthralled old John A would have been with the cult of Mormonism ….
Good point!
John Adams would have despised the pathological liar, Mitt Romney. Adams was a straight shooter!
BTW, my absence of comments about Syria should be taken as an indication that the FSA are doing REALLY WELL liberating THEIR Country 🙂
Now, back to #SENSATA #SENSATA #SENSATA
#LandslideOBAMA2012
That’s good Bob. I hope they do well!
Bob – That is great to hear!
Thank heavens!!!
So that should tell them something. The Obama supporters have healthy, interesting lives and on Fridays, they are working during the day, and out to dinner/movie/friends/dates at night. The Willard supporters are spending their whole day Friday sitting and waiting for the phone to ring (their only human interaction all week).
BWAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHAHA.
And the supporters who are not working are busy canvassing, phonebanking, volunteering, registering voters, etc.
I think we broke Twitter. It is over capacity.
Keep it that way!!!! #SENSTA 🙂
He learned the tactic of projecting from Karl Rove.
Indeed – it’s the same way that Paul Ryan kept repeating the line about “when you don’t have a record to run on, your only tactic is to tell people to be afraid of your opponent”. They telegraph their agenda and project their own weaknesses. It’s pretty pathetic.
Indeed LL, indeed.
“Now we have to destroy the GOP.”
And, any remnant of it …
#OutPerform1936
Yes We Can
Wow! Just going through the VP debate threads, loved all the comments! Congrats on first vc, thanks for this wonderful blog Ms Chips, and WTG to Bob and all of our fantastic Twitter warriors!
Bob and Tally are the four star generals on Twitter, they have several Lieutenants.
Very kind of you Jovie, but I’m a foot solider, not a general and we have so many fantastic members of the TOD making significant contributions on Twitter I have a hard time keeping up with all of them. But, I really do appreciate the kindness of your comment.
#FORWARD
#TOGETHER
Right on.
So so true, Bob! All TOD twitters are doing a wonderful job, but you’ve been one of the most fearless.
Right on Jovie. Don’t forget UT, amk, LL, meta, collegekay, BWD, VC, Alice, Jackie (s), gobrooklyn, betsy, dotster, theo, and many many more 🙂 The TOD Twitter brigade is a force to be reckoned with!!
Yes! And they all should report for rollcall every morning at 0600 hours…
🙂
ugh, one of the reasons I never joined the military. A morning person I AM NOT. 😆 Fortunately, the wife and our animals share my enjoyment at sleeping in on the weekend.
Um, that’s not going to happen… 😕
And the new registrations are not counted in the pollsters’ LV models!
Yes!!!
Great news! Increased his lead by one. I was expecting it to be much closer. Romney has peaked, now we just have to keep our feet on the pedal to GOTV the next 3.5 weeks and keep those tweets going.
I’m going to a GOTV phonebank tomorrow. I shall report tomorrow evening to all of you.
Look at the early biter numbers down thread! That is why the Obama camp is not panicky!
Early voter.
Your iphone and it’s hood sense of humor is at it once again. Now voter=biter.
It’s a matter of getting all those Obama biters to the polls.
Great to hear. And most of all it’s good to know that Ohioans are voting right now — and many for our President.
Guess little Chrissie caught a clue …
Yes he did, and I hope his colleagues at MSNBC cover the story well before next weekend!
but 7 days Bobfr47? That is a bunch of malarkey. Why wait just because you have a former worker booked next weekend when there is plenty to discuss before then.
Oh, I know, and folk are calling him on it … he should be doing it tomorrow … keep the pressure on him to do so …
#PRESSON
Wow!!!!!!!!
No wonder the Rethugs were trying so hard to stop early voting and to oppress the Democratic vote!!!
Loved the movie and love that tweet! Ha.
This means almost 30% of PBO’s vote in OH is already banked! Go OH!!!!!!!! You guys rock!
20%
I ignored the undecideds jovie, assumed they’d probably split pretty evenly making them a wash. With the undecideds out it is 29+%.
Explains why the Ohio GOP are trying every tactic to limit early voting
http://www.bloomberg.com/news/2012-10-13/obama-campaign-asks-high-court-to-allow-ohio-early-voting.html
More on OH poll:
I thought it was only 3 million last week? Did he get a million more in just one week?
My Phoenix local news just reported the latest poll that President Obama is leading Mitt Romney 44 to 42. They also reported that our senate race between Rich Carmona and Jay Flake has Dem Carmona leading 44 to40. This is huge TOD!
And Rocky Mountain is one of the best pollsters for that region. Yep, it’s a BFD. I really think that the LV models are undercounting Obama support.
Great news, Jackie.
Yep, LL.
#Sensata
In friggin’ AZ !!!! gedouddahere.
df would be doing the one foot dancing if she was here. 🙂
And VGM folks. Excellent news to wake up to.
P.S. Linky for tweety ?
Make it happen, df. I want to see that gorgeous smile. 🙂
🙂 Thanks….we’re working hard!
OKAY?
jeebus, nate has gone beltway, isn’t he ? Deal with the fucking reality, nate.
You are spot-on, amk! Something has happened to Nate Silver! Obviously he would rather believe in the LV than in actual voters who have cast their votes.
Al Giordano warned this would happen. I am happy to see peeps are starting to question, nay mock, at his predictions and analysis.
Al Giordano is the real deal. He could smell BS a mile away.
Just got polled for the 2nd time in 2 1/2 weeks.
just got polled NC 1st time….exciting to press 1 for Obama
Duh, the precious Nate Silver is finally figuring out the LV voter screens are totally fraudulent:
Bingo.
And there is a reason for that – as and I, and several other bloggers on TOD and elsewhere have stated.
nate in his own weaselly words
It might be noted that some of the state polls released on Friday were from firms that have had Republican-leaning results, and they might slightly exaggerate his standing. It is unlikely, for instance, that Mr. Romney would win New Hampshire by four percentage points right now, as implied by an American Research Group poll of the state.
But even polls that are Republican- or Democratic-leaning can still be useful in detecting the race’s trend, and it is one that clearly favors Mr. Romney.

Case closed.
Serious question: Will this be the election that blows up “likely voter” models?

New voters will not make the screen for likely voters.
If that’s the case, foxfireTX, people focused on the LV model as the key to a Romney win may be in for a major surprise and disappointment on Nov.6th.
Romney is so full of crap.
I just tweeted their asses a link to a Financial Times article that calls them out on their BS, ut.

Yes We Can
Some of those “unlikely” voters have voted, 19% with huge margin for PBO:
Does that mean that Romney is going to get 51% of the folks who haven’t voted as yet, which is 81% of Ohio voters?
If we take this at face value it gives the President 54% of the total vote, right? Willard might as well go home.
Isn’t unemployment at 5% in Ohio right now? That’s pretty significant.
I think unemployment rate in Ohio is about 7%, which is drastic drop from 10-11% at the beginning of his presidency.
Apparently the Libya issue isn’t playing that well with Ohio voters:
And that old truism: As goes Ohio, goes the nation.
Oh but don’t you know the Romney campaign senses a real weakness there according to the idiot MSM. LOL.

Do you have a link Jovie?
I just made a quick donation the TOD fundraising page. We definitely need to win this.

I also think that the country would be in an even much better place than now if the voters hadn’t lost their minds when they elected tea baggers to dominate the Congress.
here is Candy Crowley’s real twitter account. Maybe we should start pushing Sensata to her. @crowleyCNN
She should be challenged to exert tight control in the debate, and to confront candidates if they push lies that have been debunked, or if they contradict previous positions ( which means confront Romney lol)
Romney Tests the Limits on Lying
By Lawrence Davidson:
—————————————–

I can’t be too hard on Nate. I assume that after the elections, he’ll adjust his models so that they’re more accurate.
In other words, he will do worse than rassmussen, who at at least ‘adjusts his models’ just before the election ?
After the election? I assume this is snark.
No, not snark. I’m trying to give Nate the benefit of the doubt.
At this juncture, give no-one the benefit of the doubt in corporate media land. No-one!

AMK, if you make it to L.A., I’ll have one of my famous Manhattans ready to greet you off the plane.
And, if you continue North, amk, you’ll receive a nice glass of PNW red wine & a meal at Trattoria Bobfr 🙂
Thanks Bob. Up north ? Where tundra twit lives ? 😉
Seattle, good buddy 🙂
I have heard some good things about Seattle. Like 24×7 rain ? 🙂
We tell those lies to prevent 30 million or more people moving here, my friend 😀
It is a magical place of light, mountains, water everywhere ….

…water everywhere…
I am sold. 🙂
Srusly, my state in India is the driest. I love mountains and forests and rivers.
Any time …. 🙂
Seriously, Bob? Dude! 24/7 rain. 24/7 rain. 24/7 rain. Back in the fold, son. Nothing to see here, folks. Seattle is soggy, dreary, overcrowded. 24/7 rain.
Oh, thanks for the invite, Tien. Will be there. In waterproof raincoat, no less.
😆 bobfr, sshhhhh.. You’re gonna get yourself in trouble! 😉
😀 😀 😀 😀 😀
That said, if this ever does happen, and amk arrives here in our sublime region, oh please do let Tien Le and myself know so we may present another facet of TOD! Wouldn’t that be just so much fun! 🙂
Will do!!! 🙂
wimmin/smh.
Why, thank you, LL. If I am ever in L.A. (got a few pals there), I will be sure to look for you at the LAX arrival gates.
Psst. Does the wifey unit know about this ‘generosity’ ? 🙂
As I’ve said before, the wife is used to my idiosyncracies. And she usually winds up liking my friends. I have good taste.
Wait until she sees me. 🙂
Thanks again for the offer. Muchos appreciatos (?).
😆 Close enough. “Apreciado mucho”
:).
Gracias.
Didn’t we cross 10 million donors just last week ? I am confused.
I’m confuse too. I thought we crossed 10 million donors last week?
It was 10 million donations. 4 million donors.
typical shady reporting by Politico the internet version of Fixed News.
Donors does not equal donations.
Do you follow?
You mean 10 million donations ? I remember reading it as 10 million donors. Of course, my memory sux. So….
I read it as 10 million donations (at the time), which means its more now) from (currently now) 4 million single contributors.
1 contributor can give multiple times.
Thanks Mellisa.
Yup. They keep reminding me that I am a reliable contributer and they’ve saved my info so all I do is just click the amount I want to give.
thought I heard 10 million donations which could be from 4 million donors with people giving more than once
I think you are absolutely right globalcitizenlinda. The 4 million donors reported to day are those of the people who have, at least, given one donation; but many others of those 4 millions may have given more than one donation, hence the 10 million donations. I know I have donated more than once.
Thought I would tell you what my beloved James Taylor is doing in NC…..JT and his wife are going to OFA offices in different towns and giving mini concerts to keep volunteers pumped…Tonight he is having a fund raiser for PBO in Blowing Rock….have couple of friends going…above my $$ level….he was in Wilmington and Huntersville earlier this week……I adore him and his music but I think I might have fallen in love knowing just how hard he is working for PBO….on HIS dime….Please someone post a JT “Carolina on my Mind” video…I don’t know how to do it
Here you go – with the Dixie Chicks!

Ok, I officially love James Taylor. And I’m Gen X, so take that into account.
LL, you are quickly maturing beyond your age!
Hah! Actually, I mostly listen to “classical” music. I think I have an old soul.
I don’t think you have an old soul. I think what you have is a combination of a wise soul and exquisite taste.
If you are gen X I guess that puts me Gen Z
You young thing!
Josh is *mostly* classical. Sadly, the wider culture doesn’t care about that music. Personally, classical is what I listen to mostly.
PBO has a plus 2 in Arizona. I just can’t wait for the media to sensationalize this! Oh wait… It’s a favoring the president, they’ll probably down play it instead.
The Righties are already dissing that poll. I’m not surprised since AZ has a significant Latino population and a stupid Republican Governor.
Go Martina.
Oh, I saw that too… Yuck!

Bill Maher Torches the Right For Being Completely Wrong About Obama
By: Jason Easley
==================
ven though the right was totally wrong about their Obama predictions four years ago, they are doubling down on them in 2012.

Here’s MORE about Sensata!! http://www.dailykos.com/story/2012/10/13/1144087/-More-on-Bain-Moving-Sensata-to-China
NOT OK!!! MAybe someone should Tweet that Mitt is no patriot and show that photo of Mitt’s business!!!
http://www.usflag.org/uscode36.html#175
(g) When flags of two or more nations are displayed, they are to be flown from separate staffs of the same height. The flags should be of approximately equal size. International usage forbids the display of the flag of one nation above that of another nation in time of peace.
No person shall display the flag of the United Nations or any other national or international flag equal, above, or in a position of superior prominence or honor to, or in place of, the flag of the United States at any place within the United States or any Territory or possession thereof:
From a July 18 editorial in NYT
//………

The thing is, where PBO is concerned, Stewart is a tough interview. The WHPC is just butt hurt.

It is presented as the New Obama Battleground State Video! called “Ready To Fight Harder” #ReElectObama
Sharing would also encourage the kids who created it to stay involved in the campaign
It’s very well done, Linda and I’ve tweeted it more than once. Will work it into another tweet, soon 🙂
Thank you!
thanks a lot for sharing this video Bob. young voters are doing their thing here
It is also clear from the video that the young people know the critical role that Ohio plays in the election since they feature the flag for the State of Ohio very prominently throughout the video.

I’ve seen some stuff about the Sensata factory that there was never a Chinese flag flown. Not sure if that is accurate but it’s probably best to keep it on the real story which is laying off American workers and shipping those jobs to China. The flag thing may be untrue and then becomes a diversion/distraction from the true sickening story about Mitt Romney, clearly should be banned from seeking public office.
the flag was flown. The workers were specific on that.

Wonder how many registrations got lost in Wisconsin! Talk about enrollment fraud – GOP fraud continues.

Excellent report, Purpleshoes!

The bottom line has never had all the answers for me.
way more goodness here…..

Link to the newspaper has entire endorsement
Bob…check out my newest post……what the heck is going on here??
Loved reading the entire endorsement. They drew a perfect contrast between both the candidates and their policies.
Chips must post this in rise & shine
Thanks df.
THIS is what R/R has wrought.. http://rt.com/usa/news/us-debt-collector-disabled-veteran-372/ Disgusting!
Obama early voting outpaces Romney 59%-31% in early voting across several states. Outpacing even 2008 in some.

President Barack Obama and Republican challenger Mitt Romney are neck and neck in opinion polls, but there is one area in which the incumbent appears to have a big advantage: those who have already cast their ballots.
Ha, ha, ha. Eat that nate.
Thank you Bill R.
Oh holy shit. http://www.democraticunderground.com/10021535466

Blackstone, KKR, Bain Are Accused of Rigging Bids
Time to rest ….

That’s almost just as bad, either way, bad news for Robney.
Another fantastic endorsement from St Louis Today.

our years ago, in endorsing Democrat Barack Obama for president, we noted his intellect, his temperament and equanimity under pressure.
///
Choose the many. Choose Barack Obama.
Good one from the cajun.
