No, no, I’ve retired, but TY. 😳

Roberta, I’ve been hoping to run into you so that I could ask if you had ever made direct contact with Sue in MN, while she was a regular here? My mind can’t seem to let her go, mainly because she was ill the last few times I ‘saw’ her here and then….. Do you know if she’s alright and just not able to handle the online stuff? She’s left a void because we used to dialogue so well and it’s hard to accept that she just walked away without an ‘au revoir’. Do you remember her? Do you know anything?

Congratulations VC…..all is well again. You are going to have to keep knocking on that TOD door and keep opening it very wide. Why….I love how you write about your conquest and I have missed the stories an awful lot.

No offense to all the others who have climbed the TOD Plateau Village Peak. I am biased and so ‘am so joyous gangman VC style.

Happy days are here are again……

O no, Nena, I’m still retired. No stories for you. I was merely peeking through the TOD door to see who was here and Vitamin Lover startled me so I stumbled inside. Pay no attention to my head being a tad ahead of hers.

I cannot afford to fall off the band wagon, Nena, and I have two serious mentors, Pamela and Theo, to see that I don’t. Of course, that’s not to say that if I happen to walk past the door and it’s open and I can’t tell if anyone’s inside yet or not and I peek and I happen to be the first one there that that’s falling off the band wagon. That’s just …that’s just, that’s just …..fortunesmilingonme, and I’m sure most will be happy that fortune found me, and that I’m protecting home turf from intruders and won’t think I’m not sticking to my resolve. 😉 😆 😆

Enjoy the victory, VC. We’ll make sure you don’t fall completely off the wagon, but everyone deserves a victory now and again! If I see you tripping anyone or pushing anyone out of the way, I’ll take action… 🙂

Waiting can be sooo nerve-wracking, Theo! Ever since I came in and noticed that no one else was here YET I’ve been biting my nails as to your response, fearing that you would read me a lecture. Phew! (My mother soured me on ‘lectures’ because she could go on and on while I would be thinking just spank me and get it over with.) No pushing or tripping for me, no siree! Thanks for understanding. Now I can really, really enjoy this smile from fortune. 😆 😆

….including moderation! VC, isnt the fortunesmilingonme just so much more joyful than hanging out waiting… Tho I do know for a fact you mastered the intuitive knack of somehow just knowing when Chips was busting loose with new thread, and that is a certain thrill all in its own class! For me, lately I seem to be landing in some second place spots just from hearing the iPhone ping with a new email! That always astonishes and delight me, because on iPhone I can barely see the keyboard, and usually (never) have my reading glasses on, so second is especially fun! 🙂

Are you kidding? Second is not only fun, it is particularly challenging to accomplish. I’ve been trying for it since the day after my retirement with no way of figuring out how to consistently hit it just right. I’m either too early, or in the crowd. I’ll have to figure out if it’s at all feasible, which would give me a new focus.

Made it safely, before dark, sitting with my kitty in my lap, Chicken Chausseur with noodles, grilled mushrooms and roasted eggplant, quite tasty although I admit I did not make it myself! VC, Sue has been in and out, I think I last saw a post from her within the week, I know she is busy and has a lot going on, as well as her health challenges. She was gone for several months, but some of us mentioned to her we missed her terribly, and then she came back to us, and we rejoiced! The current silence is only a ‘seeming silence’, right Sue? 🙂

Glad you are in safe and sound, Miss Pamela, and that meal sounds ‘tasty’. Your tea is ready whenever you are. It’s freshly picked mint this time.

Sue Duvall (who uses capitals, and has recently returned ) is not the same as Sue in MN. I’m hoping strongly that Sue in MN drops in to say ‘hi’ on election night, if not before. I’ll wait and hope quietly.

Thank you Bobfr. Thank you. The media should have been on this four years ago.
If you don’t mind: Among many of the things that Lying Ryan said that has been bothering me all week is his making reference to PBO eloquent speeches, as if they were a bad thing.

After eight years of that bumbling fool Bush who could not even read his speeches, it is a a wonderful thing to hear a President who speaks with ease, eloquence, intelligence ,confidence and poise. Instead of that fool who stood there and forgot what he standing there for, needless to say who he was. Even I was embarrassed for him, so embarrassed I could not watch him.
Lying Ryan and those ignoramuses have the nerve to complain.

      Give me a break!

Thank YOU! It’s more than time for more people to see Mitt’s core. Any rational politician would have made a pretence of responding to these Americans by now, if only because it’s an election year, ‘for pete’s sake’. Mitt’s people set the cops to remove them, much like Ryan did with that senior citizen at his town hall meeting. If they’re not in the WH (yet) and they have no patience for the average joe/jane, will they ever show any?

So that should tell them something. The Obama supporters have healthy, interesting lives and on Fridays, they are working during the day, and out to dinner/movie/friends/dates at night. The Willard supporters are spending their whole day Friday sitting and waiting for the phone to ring (their only human interaction all week).

  13. October 13, 2012 at 7:22 pm

The past few days the country has lost its mind. I really think it’s regaining it. Joe began it Thursday. The Sensata story is breaking at the worst time for Mitt. And PBO will slice and dice Willard on Tuesday. We’ve got this. Now we have to destroy the GOP.

Yes indeed, hopefruit! I received a delicious e-mail from OFA reporting the great news. The numbers of new people who have been registered by OFA in Iowa, Ohio, Virginia, Florida, Colorado and North Carolina, are quite impressive! I am really impressed with all the Obama supporters who refused to be intimidated by all the talk about billionaires and millionaires pouring money to defeat the President. My special thanks to TOD and all the fundraisers on this site. Thanks also to all the people here who have been volunteering to register new voters. I get paid to-morrow and I will once again chip in. We are almost there! We cannot relax until Nov. 7th. As Bobfr says, we really need to crash these know-nothing tea baggers who have no qualms destroying the country in order to regain power.

My Phoenix local news just reported the latest poll that President Obama is leading Mitt Romney 44 to 42. They also reported that our senate race between Rich Carmona and Jay Flake has Dem Carmona leading 44 to40. This is huge TOD!

    • October 13, 2012 at 8:07 pm

Sad but true AMK. I have seen a shift lately since the economy is improving and I see lots of Obama bumper stickers – many more than Romney and having a crazy Governor has helped bring things more into prospective.

I remember those days too Jackie 4 Obama! I especially loved your Congressman, Mo Udall! You’ve also had a few great and progressive governors, including Secretary Janet Napoleano. • 140 99ts
        October 13, 2012 at 8:20 pm

I don’t argue his stats hf – just the polls that go into them. Nate only excludes those that are proven to be frauds (had at least one last election). What will happen now is that those polls you mistrust will become outliers – and count for little.

The real story is not Nate Silver – the real story is the GOP persuading the media to tout for their guy – the media wanted a race & were prepared to lie and pimp for the GOP to get it.

        • 141 Bill R.
          October 13, 2012 at 8:25 pm

Nate is a fraud. He is protecting his job with NYTimes and accepts nearly all polls at face value, and their “likely voter” screens. And should know different if he doesn’t.

          • 142 99ts
            October 13, 2012 at 8:29 pm

He wasn’t a fraud when he had President Obama leading 86-14 – He isn’t a fraud now. He may have lousy data. He has ALWAYS used “likely voter” data when it is available. He may reconsider that choice is it is proven that the “likely data” is invalid

            • 143 hopefruit2
              October 13, 2012 at 8:38 pm

Nice try. You’re playing that false equivalency game. When Silver’s models showed Obama’s probably of winning at 84%, he was basing his data on a variety of polls from ALL sources, but most of them were largely reputable and the numbers were consonant with what people were reporting on the ground, etc. In the past week, the majority of the polling since the first debate has been based on a slew of Republican polls with questionable cross tabs and funky demographic weightings.

If you believe that a poll that shows Romney winning 50% of the AA vote in CO, then I have a bridge to sell you. Nate incorporated that poll as well as the Mason Dixon FL poll showing Rommey ahead by 7pts in FL and leading by 30 pts among Latinos. And he kept sending periodic but regular tweets to let everyone know how “well” Romney was doing and how “badly” Obama was doing.

              • 144 amk for obama
                October 13, 2012 at 8:56 pm

                Bingo.

99ts – nate himself in admitting in his own tweet that he is unable ‘to reconcile’ with the reality. His last few poll additions have been horrible outlier rw polls and he admits it in his own column.

Yes, he was good in 2008 but now, I wouldn’t trust him as much as I did in 2008.

              • 145 99ts
                October 13, 2012 at 9:04 pm

Please – I am 500% for the President – I have never had time for Nate’s analysis – he is NO pundit – especially since he joined the NYT – I just don’t kill the messenger, because I believe his statistics are correct, that the polls are way out of kilter is another story – the message of the “likely voters” is looking horrible – and after a week of misery I’m so happy about that. I might even go back & look at Nate’s figures – I haven’t been there for 2 weeks.
I don’t have an argument with anyone here – please don’t think that I do.

                • 146 hopefruit2
                  October 13, 2012 at 9:09 pm

I never questioned your support for PBO – so the 500% disclaimer is unnecessary in the context of what we’re discussing right now.

I’m not the only one who has had misgivings about Silver’s agenda with his probability models this past week. And there is a reason for that – as and I, and several other bloggers on TOD and elsewhere have stated.

It might be noted that some of the state polls released on Friday were from firms that have had Republican-leaning results, and they might slightly exaggerate his standing. It is unlikely, for instance, that Mr. Romney would win New Hampshire by four percentage points right now, as implied by an American Research Group poll of the state.

But even polls that are Republican- or Democratic-leaning can still be useful in detecting the race’s trend, and it is one that clearly favors Mr. Romney.

99ts, with all due respect, while your assessment of Silver is generous, it’s not accurate. Nate Silver and rest of the media have a professional and ethical obligation to not be “persuaded” by political interests while pretending to be objective.

Mr. Silver is considered the go-to guy for election polling trends among many voters. So he was a huge part of the hysteria that ensued when he incorporated the GOP push- polls with missing crosstabs or demographic data, in his models as valid. Furthermore, he began adding value statements to his tweets, describing Obama’s numbers as “awful” – a word he has NEVER used to describe Romney’s numbers.

Earlier this week and last weekend, Jefferson Obama and many others on Twitter and elsewhere pointed out the problems with those GOP polls but Silver arrogantly dismissed them until he got outed today by Deaniac on TPV.

I would think it’s not that difficult to find out. Of all the Ohio voters that PPP has polled just take the percentage that would have normally been excluded from a likely voter screen. My guess is a HUGE percentage of them are college students who the campaign has been focusing on – after the rallies, etc. Although I doubt that these were even polled by PPP since they don’t do cell phones. Obama support in Ohio is probably greater than even the 5 point edge in this poll….

Okay, those Ohio numbers are great. And keep in mind that they said Saturday numbers were better than Friday numbers, so his margin on Saturday had to be better tha the 51 he is showing overall. Also, the real important thing is that he moved over the 50% margin. Once over that it is hard to fall back, specially this late in the game. Also, I am assuming this is likely voter turnout, which usually doesn’t include new registrations. Plus (lots of good things here) this is the kind of thing that can dampen the Republican enthusiasm, specially after working so hard to come back. It is kind of like a football team (either type) that is down 3 scores, gets to within 1 late in the game, and the opponent gets a big score. Wipes the winds form the sails of the team trying to come back. And finally, remember PPP had said that a) the VP debate didn’t seem to change people’s minds and b) they used a Dem +5 instead of the 2008 model of Dem +8.

Without Ohio, Romney is doomed. To me, this means the fallout is stopped and even a tie on Tuesday favors PBO.

Excellent comment! Also important is the fact that Democrats have registered more new voters in Ohio than Republicans. I don’t know if the LV model takes into account new voters, who, in my experience, tend to be very enthusiastic about voting for the first time.

You know what, TienLe, I am absolutely convinced that President Obama would do better in Ohio this year than he did in 2008! I have friends in Cincinnati and Cleveland and, anecdotally, they say that supporters of President Obama, contrary to the media propaganda, are more organized and more fired up than 2008. Besides, Obama’s Auto bail-out is very popular in parts of Ohio, like Toledo, that have seen real tangible job creation as well as jobs saved. So, It’s not far fetched to suggest that President Obama is likely to win 54% of the votes in Ohio.

It was Romney who was criticized by republican and democratic foreign policy experts for politicizing Amb. Steven’s death. This only happened a few weeks ago, and they think that because they’ve forgotten that Romney did this, everyone else has also forgotten.

People forget that voters in Ohio are moderate in their views and that is why they soundly rejected attempts to destroy Unions last year – Ohio is a very unionized state compared to others.

I expect the Ohio Fraternal Order of Police which usually supports gop to endorse PBO due to union-rights.

Furthermore, although we may rival with Michigan in football, both OH and MI are extremely grateful to PBO for saving the auto-industry – think it is a coincidence PBO’s weekly address today was on the auto-bailout. Ohio has auto plants and auto-parts manufacturers who owe their jobs directly to PBO.

Even the unemployment rate in OH is below the national average although it was higher when PBO took office.

I think among the swing states, Ohio is the true swing state – goes to Dem then GOP. But once voters have trusted a presidential candidate, it is very hard to abandon him/her. Prez Clinton won it twice, Bush won it twice and I believe PBO will win it twice.

Joe Biden’s 2-Minute Explanation Of The Economy That Every American Needs To See

    By LOLGOP

    —————————–

Here’s some good news: The most watched moment of the vice-presidential debate also appears to be one of Joe Biden’s best. When the subject finally turned to the economy, the vice-president gave a two-minute answer that did three crucial things.

First, it gave a cohesive narrative of the economy over the last four years, then he called out Mitt Romney’s 47 percent comments and finally he blasted Romney, Paul Ryan and the Republicans who got us into this mess as the guys who won’t take responsibility for their own actions.

Watch it again and share with a non-comatose undecided voter if you can find one.

Ladyhawke and Bobfr, thanks for sharing this again! The VP was on fire and masterfully laid out the facts. I get so tired of people who seem to be afflicted with amnesia! This administration inherited the greatest economic mess since the Great Depression of the 1930’s. On top of that, it inherited two wars, and an international environment that had soured on America. Any objective person knows that four years later, the United States is in a much better place than it was when President Obama and Vice-President Biden took office. I also think that the country would be in an even much better place than now if the voters hadn’t lost their minds when they elected tea baggers to dominate the Congress.

Romney Tests the Limits on Lying

    By Lawrence Davidson:

    —————————————–

Mitt Romney might be the most brazen political liar since James Polk, who served as the 11th U.S. president (1845-1849) and lied through his teeth – to Congress, to his cabinet, to the newspapers – to get the country into a war with Mexico.

Of course, other presidents have lied to a similar end, for instance President Lyndon Johnson on the Vietnam War and President George W. Bush on the Iraq War. But Polk operated with the same audacious “lying is part of what I do” disposition that Mitt Romney does.

James Polk, the 11th President of the United States.
If one has any doubt about Mitt Romney’s mendacious temperament, the first presidential debate should have put it to rest. According to one analyst, Romney let loose with “27 myths in 38 minutes,” finishing with a big grin after most of these prevarications. He produced trumped-up assertions, false statistics and wild exaggerations about taxes, energy independence, job creation, the deficit, Medicare, “Obamacare,” and military spending.

WHY ISN’T THIS BEING SHOUTED FROM THE MOUNTAIN TOPS??

Global Index Praises U.S. As ‘Sole Bright Spot’ In Sluggish World Economy

    By Joe Conason

    ——————————–

Unemployment is still too high, income is still too low, and the recovery is still too slow – but the United States is faring considerably better than other developed nations against the threat of a renewed recession and remains “the brightest spot in the world economy,” according to the latest indicators tracked by the Financial Times and the Brookings Institution. Known as TIGER, or Tracking Indices for the Global Economic Recovery, the comprehensive data report compiled by the London-based business daily and the centrist Washington think tank provides a factual context for the U.S. presidential debate.

Favorable comparison with other nations, in a faltering world economy, may reinforce President Obama’s argument that his policies are working despite jobs statistics that remain deeply troubling. Moreover, criticism of Obama by Republican Mitt Romney may well be regarded as less credible if the U.S. economy is in fact performing better than every other developed country — especially those pursuing the austerity policies advocated by Romney and his running mate, Rep. Paul Ryan.

Bill Maher Torches the Right For Being Completely Wrong About Obama

      By: Jason Easley

      ==================

ven though the right was totally wrong about their Obama predictions four years ago, they are doubling down on them in 2012. Anti-choice groups are claiming that if Obama wins a second term, abortion will be free and paid for on the government dime. The NRA is claiming that going to take away guns in his second term, and the biggest lie of all is that “religious freedom” will be under assault if President Obama is reelected.

A good look back at the history of presidential campaigning over the last 20 years reveals that it doesn’t matter who the Democrat is, the right claims doom is just an Election Day away, and they are always completely, totally, and absolutely wrong.

The sad part is that the people behind these groups know they are wrong, but that doesn’t stop them from whipping the rubes into a frenzy.

The dirty little secret behind these is that it doesn’t matter if they are right or wrong.

    Here’s MORE about Sensata!! http://www.dailykos.com/story/2012/10/13/1144087/-More-on-Bain-Moving-Sensata-to-China

How Mitt Romney will benefit from closing Sesnata.

As mentioned in the bullet-points above, Bain/Romney will receive tax deductions after closing the factory in Freeport. Huffington Post takes a closer look at the tax benefits for Romney.

    • Romney transferred $701,703 worth of Sensata stock to the Tyler Charitable Foundation, a 501(c)3 tax-exempt nonprofit controlled by Romney.
    • Moving the stock to his nonprofit brings Romney twin benefits. First, he gets to deduct the full value of the stock. At a 35 percent tax rate, that’s nearly a $250,000 benefit. At 15 percent, it’s just over $100,000.
    • Romney is able to avoid paying capital gains taxes on the stock price increase. Romney’s returns list no cost for the stock, and indicate he obtained them as part of a partnership interest in Bain. Avoiding capital gains taxes on the full increase would save an additional $100,000.
    • In 2010, Romney gifted $170,000 worth of Sensata stock to his charity, saving $25,000 in capital gains taxes that year.

Fucking Taker comes to mind…along with crook and liar.

From a July 18 editorial in NYT

    //………
As Bain’s founder, he established its business model, which is to wring the maximum efficiency from a company for the benefit of Bain’s investors, even if that means closing plants, shipping jobs to China, and laying off American workers. That’s how private equity often works, and Bain has done it many times before, sometimes to the benefit of a company’s workers, and sometimes to their detriment.

When Bain first led a buyout of Sensata, in fact, it laid off hundreds of American workers and sent their jobs offshore. As the Times reported, the Labor Department spent $780,000 retraining some of the laid-off employees.

In addition, Mr. Romney’s generous retirement agreement ensures that he continues to profit from the deals and decisions that Bain makes. He owns about $8 million worth of Bain funds that hold 51 percent of Sensata’s shares. If Sensata saves money by closing the Freeport plant, that could add money to Mr. Romney’s trust accounts, now or after the election.

Serious proposal: White House/political reporters should pool questions they would like Jon Stewart to ask Obama… If POTUS is not going to talk to press, perhaps Stewart could pass on press questions.

    Yeah right, whatever.

I don’t know if this video has been shared before.

It is a creative piece by some young men who are encouraging all of us to support PBO.

Please share this – could be useful for motivating some young people to get out and vote for PBO since it speaks their language.

It is presented as the New Obama Battleground State Video! called “Ready To Fight Harder” #ReElectObama

Sharing would also encourage the kids who created it to stay involved in the campaign

I’ve seen some stuff about the Sensata factory that there was never a Chinese flag flown. Not sure if that is accurate but it’s probably best to keep it on the real story which is laying off American workers and shipping those jobs to China. The flag thing may be untrue and then becomes a diversion/distraction from the true sickening story about Mitt Romney, clearly should be banned from seeking public office.

What ho TOD Peeps! My team ran a KICK-ASS phonebank today. In addition to signed up volunteers, we had walk-ins rolling in in a stready stream. People re-energized and determined to make sure our illustrious Prez gets back in the White House seemed like they were coming out the woodwork today to make phone calls. It also helped that it was a bee-yoo-ti-ful day out today in the City of Angels. Then as I was shutting down the event, two cars rolled up full of more volunteers, ready to make phone calls. 😆 Got them committed to come back to our next event. Lots of people at our phone bank today talking about our VP’s takedown of the “blue eyed granny starver” AND how impressed and moved that our Prez’ spoke to the Latino community in Spanish in one of his ads earlier this week. Full press to GOTV is ON y’all. #4MoreFor44! Let’s Do This!

Definitely a MUST READ….and Pass It Along! http://margaretandhelen.com/2012/10/13/someone-needs-to-remind-paul-ryan-you-cant-spell-compassion-on-a-calculator/

These women prove that, with age, comes wisdom. They should be cloned. Just sayin’…..

What does it say about the Republican Party that despite our being the richest country on the planet, all they can worry about is how expensive it is to take care of our elderly, our sick and our less fortunate? What kind of statement are they making when they focus almost exclusively on how much richer we could all be if we just spend a little less money on the sick and the elderly? There are more billionaires in America than in the next 10 richest countries combined. We are actually millionaires when it comes to the number of millionaires with almost 5 million Americans having that distinction – more than the next 10 countries combined. But the way Ryan describes it you would never know that the tax burden for American workers is one of the lowest on Earth… or that our defense budget is ten times greater than the next closest country.

The federal budget that Ryan apparently keeps next to his bible has a revenue line of more than $2 trillion dollars. That would be a two followed by twelve zeros. Twelve. It seems to me that Ryan should have a whole lot more than Medicare and Social Security to discuss before he gets to that last zero. We are debating the price of Medicare and Social Security but not the cost of war. I guess that’s why I am not a math person. The bottom line has never had all the answers for me.

    way more goodness here…..

Winston-Salem Journal endorses Obama: Obama is best choice for president (endorsed McCain in ’08)

Americans have a clear choice between two presidential candidates with starkly different ideas for spurring the economy, providing for the health of our people, defending our interests abroad, educating our children and protecting our environment. We believe that President Barack Obama’s progress on these issues merits him a second term in the White House.

Four years ago on this page, we endorsed Republican U.S. Sen. John McCain of Arizona over Obama. We wrote that we were impressed with Obama, but McCain would “bring the Iraq war to a successful conclusion, work to end American dependence on foreign oil, reduce America’s output of climate-changing gases and begin the rebuilding of our economy.”

The Democratic president has done all those things and more. He is calm under pressure and courageous in standing up for the rights of all Americans, including the poor, veterans, the elderly, women, gays and immigrants. In contrast, we’ve sometimes found it hard in the last few weeks to tell just what Obama’s challenger, former Massachusetts governor Mitt Romney, really stands for.

Link to the newspaper has entire endorsement

THIS is what R/R has wrought.. http://rt.com/usa/news/us-debt-collector-disabled-veteran-372/ Disgusting!

A debt collector, angered that a disabled US Army veteran was living off of disability payments, told him he “should have died” in war instead of “taking advantage of” other Americans.
Minnesota-based debt collection agency Gurstel Chargo is now facing a lawsuit for verbally abusing the Army vet over a $6,000 defaulted student loan, Courthouse News reports.
“If you would have served our country better you would not be a disabled veteran living off Social Security while the rest of us honest Americans work our asses off,” one of the agency’s debt collectors allegedly told the vet. “Too bad, you should have died.”
Michael Collier was declared 100 per cent disabled after suffering permanent spine and head injuries while in the Army. As a result, both Collier and his wife receive disability payments from the federal Social Security Administration, which are exempt from seizure by debt collectors.

    Oh holy shit. http://www.democraticunderground.com/10021535466

A class action lawsuit was filed against Bain alleging they participated in a “bidding club” where private equity firms colluded to withhold bidding on companies they sought to buy out so as to lower the price by eliminating competition. If true, this is not only a tort but a criminal conspiracy in violation of anti-trust laws. Last week the judge made the complaint public that had previously been heavily redacted by Bain lawyers. The alleged activity began in 2003, one year after Romney’s name no longer appeared on Bain documents, but discovery is ongoing. If the Justice Dept. gets involved, people might be going away for a long time. E-mails obtained through discovery from Bain and others supposedly make a strong case for collusion.

    http://www.businessweek.com/news/2012-10-10/investors-claim-kkr-told-equity-firms-not-to-bid-for-hca

Blackstone, KKR, Bain Are Accused of Rigging Bids

By Don Jeffrey and Devin Banerjee on October 11, 2012

“…Top executives at buyout firms including Blackstone Group LP (BX), KKR & Co. (KKR), Bain Capital Partners LLC and Carlyle Group (CG) LP assured each other in e-mails that they wouldn’t compete on deals to avoid driving up prices and angering competitors, according to a now public court complaint.

The correspondence was cited as evidence that the firms rigged bids in 19 leveraged buyouts and eight other transactions, including the biggest deals of the leveraged buyout boom, according to the amended complaint unsealed yesterday by a federal judge in Boston. …”

Maybe they can’t tie Romney directly to this criminal activity, but if the allegations are true, it looks like most of his fortune is based on dirty money.

Here’s a copy of the complaint, made public for the first time last week.

Another fantastic endorsement from St Louis Today.

    http://www.stltoday.com/news/opinion/columns/the-platform/editorial-obama-for-president-a-second-term-for-a-serious/article_c5371a41-ab43-5724-96e2-2d23eaa56589.html

our years ago, in endorsing Democrat Barack Obama for president, we noted his intellect, his temperament and equanimity under pressure. He was unproven, but we found him to be presidential, in all that that word implies.

In that, we have not been disappointed. This is a serious man. And now he is a proven leader. He has earned a second term.

Mr. Obama sees an America where the common good is as important as the individual good. That is the vision on which the nation was founded. It is the vision that has seen America through its darkest days and illuminated its best days. It is the vision that underlies the president’s greatest achievement, the Affordable Care Act. Twenty years from now, it will be hard to find anyone who remembers being opposed to Obamacare.

He continues to steer the nation through the most perilous economic challenges since the Great Depression. Those who complain that unemployment remains high, or that economic growth is too slow, either do not understand the scope of the catastrophe imposed upon the nation by Wall Street and its enablers, or they are lying about it.

    ///

If more Americans were paying attention, this election would not be close. Barack Obama would win going away, at least 53 to 47, perhaps even 99 to 1.

But the atmosphere has been polluted by lies, distortion, voter suppression and spending by desperate plutocrats who see the nation’s changing demographics and fear that their time is almost up. They’ve had the help of a partisan Supreme Court.

The question for voters is actually very simple. The nation has wrestled with it since its founding: Will this be government for the many or the few?

Choose the many. Choose Barack Obama.
