Madison.com: The massive crowd of supporters started arriving before dawn Thursday and waited in a line that stretched forever up and down UW-Madison’s hilly Observatory Drive, all waiting to see President Barack Obama’s afternoon rally and praying that skies, gray and threatening throughout the morning, wouldn’t drop rain.
…. UW police estimated the crowd at 30,000, and what looked like thousands more, all with tickets, were denied admission after officials declared the event at capacity early in the afternoon….

Sloan’s Lake Park, Denver, Oct 4 (Denver Post / Yahoo)
Hi y’all!
This Pres brings happiness and happiness follows him! We have such a happy campaign. 😆
Ms Chips, I’ve barely seen you in the last little while, (you didn’t show up when I was waiting for your company to the bus station last night) but I sure do thank you for your lovely compilation of pics and info! Muchas gracias / Go raibh mile maith agat. 😆
I se you’re up to your tricks again. Congrats. 🙂
Just checking if the old legs were still up to the challenge, TY! 😉 Seriously, was passing by, saw the open door and, before closing it again, wanted to make sure no stranger had wandered in. Gotta protect the home place, you know. 😆
Yeah, riiiigght! 😆
Hey there, vc! Congrats on another fine first! 🙂
TY, Dudette! I have to tell you, girl, I do a double-take almost every time I spot your new ‘do’, not to mention your new look. You look so..so.. different and so, so mah-va-lous! I’m almost tempted to ask for a referral to your new cosmetologist/coiffeur.
Oh this ole “do”? Girl, I’ve worn it for years — decades really! But thank you so much for the compliment. 😉
Btw, I love your gravatar with FLOTUS, SLOTUS and special friends from “The Street”. I bet they’re not too happy with #MeanMitt threatening to kill Big Bird either.
TY again. At first my ‘Street’ friends were ticked, but then they remembered that in a month or so #MeanMitt will be history so they rolled their eye and decided to mostly ignore him.
Now that’s what I call “class” — Role Models, baby!!
HellllLLLLLllllllLLLLLlllllLLLLlllllOOOOOoooooOOOOOooooooOOOOoooo VC.
CC? Is that you? He–llll-ooo! You haven’t been drinking, have you? Such exuberance! Probably won’t be able to fall asleep tonight. 🙄
My keyboard got stuck, VC 😆
Phew! Totally understand. These darn keyboards can be a problem.
Indeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeed.
VC! 😉
Pamela! You’ve almost made it through your stay-at-home day. How’re you feeling now? 😉
A good friend suggested to me that I rest in a while this morning, and boy, am I glad I took her advice! I had to skip lunch as both take out soups I brought home were loaded with peppers, then after 3 hours in the dentist chair, I am worn out! I did enjoy the walk over and back to the office, about half an hour each way ~ the weather was just perfect! So, goodnight. I’m beat. {{{{{TOD}}}}}
Good Night! Sleep tight! Will follow momentarily as I’m sleepy and am also expecting some workers here tomorrow (eavestrough & water tank replacements).
Wow momentum is down!
Just as well, PFI, because if it were up there would be no place to put all the bodies! 😉
Yeah. Fancy that. Where’d all them folks come from? Photoshop maybe? NOT!
Does anyone know how many turned out in Denver. I was there, but could not judge the numbers. I know the lines were long, snaking back and forth. It was really early and cold. I got up at 5 a.m. The President’s speech was great. The crowd was very supportive. The sound system wasn’t the best. It was hard to hear at times. Wow, Wis. is huge!
12,300 showed up in Denver.
I want to apologize to those who were offended by me last night. My opinion about the debate has not changed, but I acknowledge it was a mistake to express it here, especially when all was so fresh. So, my apologies, and with that, peace.
Hey BWD, no need to apologize AT ALL, every single PBO supporter who visits here is entitled to his or her opinion, and is entitled not to be abused for expressing it. I haven’t changed my view from last night either, but I am encouraged by the response and pushback today. You’re welcome to share your thoughts here any time at all, ANY TIME 😉
Chips, will you do me a favor and give me your assessment of the beginning of the debate tape. Was Mitt using cheat notes or was it a handkerchief? (What makes me lean towards the former is that he seems to open it up once he puts it on the podium.) Thanks!
http://www.democraticunderground.com/1251119479
Oh well…
Peace. We’re all together on the “day after,” moving forward!
No need. Everyone seemed to be in the heat of the moment. Forward.
I’ve found that many of us have different takes on the debate. All I know is that I will keep donating and volunteering.
Did you watch Rachel Maddow’s opening today. It might make you feel better about the importance of the first debate.
((((BWD)))) I heard you.
I was a little perplexed by the decision to not push back then I remembered when PBO went to the Republican retreat. That reminded me of the ‘shakedown’ of #BPOilSpill, Which made me think of his speech on race, which immediately made me think of #LyingRyan sitting in the front row when PBO addressed his newly unveiled budget, and his comments on Citizens United directed at the SC Justices at the SOTU address and the Bowles commission when Boehner smugly went to every camera crowing how he got 98% of what he wanted, to the 2nd stimulus during the lame duck session and Wall St Reform during the 99% protests.
And who can ever forget PBO calling ‘The Donald’ a Carnival Barker ever so sweetly to his face while knowing he just ordered the trickiest mission in the history of our military and thought to myself, “I’ll will trust and watch the chessmaster at work.”
Something about him smiling sweetly at his opponents that make me think he’s got this. I will stay focused and have faith in him and his team.
By the way I really appreciated how deranged Robme looked next to him, pundits be damned.
Look at all those disappointed Obama supporters?
look how angry they are, yelling at him about how ‘weak’ he looked last night! Looks like they all gathered to break up with him 5 weeks before the election.
Yea, jovie141, look at all those disappointed Obama supporters. All I can say is WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Damn fools didn’t read the memo from Rove!
/snark (hehehe)
Oh, Chips, yet another spectacular post to complement another great day for Americans because of our President’s dedication to all of us!!!
Those crowds, KNOW!!!
Hope this link isn’t also broken …
Did you see this video of Romney taking paper from his pocket. did he cheat? http://www.democraticunderground.com/1251119479
Yep, it looks like a cheat sheet. I guess he did not know cameras are trained on the rear of the podium.

Thank you, Chips! Thank you very much!!

😀 😀 😀

‘lick the computer-screen’ LMAO
WOW, Chips thanks for these wonderful Pictures. 🙂
Absolutely moving. I still believe very strongly in every way that President Barack Obama is a transformative President. His actions in so many areas of responsibility and the impact he has on ordinary people who cherish the chance just to touch his hand say it all. Watching him in crowds is exhilarating.
Reposting this tweet, cuz this ad can’t be played enough.
Here is what I know, President Obama is the deal. He is the stuff. I know for a fact to NEVAH underestimate him. This man is politically savvy and has bear-trap mind. I am not in the least bit worried about his losing anything. What Obama wants he will get. That is just the way it is. I will be tuning out these punidiots for awhile because they have lost their bloomin’ minds. They are not the President and they need to get a grip. Also, Willard is a weenie and so is Paulie. They are pure evil. However, I digress…First Lady Obama is the wind in President Obama’s sail. And as it is always said around these here parts “Chill the f*** out! I got this!” OBAMA/BIDEN 2012!!!!
xoxoxoxoxo vitaminlover…you have pulled the words right out of my mouth…I am in 100% agreement with your thoughts.
Let Obama be Obama!
I swear Ed Schutz just indirectly agreed with Sununu that Obama is “lazy”?! Really… WOW. #emoprogsheadsexplodes
Jay, if you are pist with Ed, then let him know that.
Oh I did!
Not finished either. I just flashed on and he was talking to Sam Stein and showed a clip from Sununut and went to go on and say well, the prez didn’t answer to all of the lies of Mitch Romney ( paraphrasing)! I just turned the channel cuz Last Resort was on commercial and caught that! WTF!
Ugh! What a blowhard! He needs to be blasted for that!
Ed Schultz = school yard rough neck.
okay, I’ve always believed that Ed was one right turn away from a tea partier. He is what is known as a fair weather friend: there in good times, backstabber in bad times. It’s not surprising he would basically agree with Sununu. My advice, don’t watch. remember the lead up to the 2010 elections? didn’t he advise everyone to not vote because he was mad PBO didn’t do what he said? I don’t need people like Ed and some others contaminating my life and we as a party need to marginalize and remove these types of people from the party because in the long run, they are no good. they are like gangrene, festering away and spreading. We don’t have to be a party of yes men, but we can’t go up against the repukes while fighting the enemy within. who was it that said: ” a house divided against itself cannot stand”? Well a party full of kamikazes can’t survive.
ps- Amazing how Lincoln’s words ring true 154 years later?
I don’t even watch him, I just wanted to see what guest he had on cosigning for him and caught that 90 seconds of that bullshit!
Jay you saved me the bother of tuning in tonight. In fact, I watched the debate on C-span last night and after hearing the reactions of Maddow, Tweety and Ed, I didn’t watch their post debate show and decided to quit them altogether, again. I had sworn off them in 2010 but got sucked back in due to their faux support of the President. I am done, again.
As such, having Bernie Sanders on his Show every night, spewing shit against this President, has effected Him. I am sure of it. This Bernie Sanders character, is a problem.
He poisons the Left, with his Socialist agenda.
News flash, this Country is not Socialist, maybe 15% are open to it.
perhaps he should move to France?
LOL!
I would think if Bernie moved to anywhere, he would not find Socialism.
The World is changing, maybe That’s why he is so pissed off all the time.
chips, thanks for the great pictures (as always, you’re the best!)
gotta say it–that baby making faces with pbo is so precious–could be my favorite of the baby pictures so far!
Last night was the perfect example of a man playing chess while a child played checkers. Rope-a-dope.
That was my take per my post above. I don’t know what the plan is but he didn’t look worried. He actually looked like he was expecting it. And his calm demeanor seemed to really get under Robme’s skin. I swear he escalated his twitching, thrashing, lying, the more PBO didn’t take his bait.
Dear God, my wish is for everyone who loves/likes/or supports President Barack Obama to take a deep breath before commenting for the next 33 days.
Please re-read your comment and if it sounds offensive, please don’t press send. This election is so serious and could shape the lives of so many lets keep moving forward and trust and believe the President when he said he is a counter-puncher…
Yep, must remember there are a lot of lurkers- some may be undecided even. They need our support as well. Thanks, Michele.
Thank you Michele. A hug for you! {{{Michele}}}
So, last night/today, I did my “serious” piece for TPV. I have a “mocking” piece percolating in my noggin.
Family, it’s possible to not only keep LyinRyan out of the VP chair, but he could be beaten out of his congressional seat as well! Wouldn’t that be SWEET? Let’s make it happen!! Democratic challenger, Rob Zerban needs our support.
Here’s his website: http://www.robzerban.com/
Note there’s a petition there to get pressure on Chicken-shit Ryan to agree to a debate
http://www.salon.com/2012/09/12/poll_ryans_race_closer_than_expected/
—————–
By the way, Rob is fundraising like a BOSS! Kicked Ryan’s ass for 3rd Qtr! Woot!
This is just funny!
https://twitter.com/Steffi5461/status/252535836564942849
Oh interesting Dudette. i had heard that Ryan had been buying some ad time to help keep his seat (That’s confidence for ya). I’m going to go check this guy out.
Dudette, it would be a thing of glory if Zerban could take this thing. Wasn’t Ryan ahead by some thirty points to begin with. Maybe the people in his district are finally seeing the real Ryan behind the act he’s been playing.
Yep, early in Sept, lead was down to single digits! We can DO this!!!
This is my view today on the whole debate. This stealth, ninja president had a strategy and i think what we saw last night was just that. I think he planed it that way knowing the backlash that would come from doing so. Remember he’s a guy who takes risks. He’s also good at keeping things secret. Look at the killing of Bin Ladin.
The Obama campaign has something brewing and it’s going to be Romney’s goose that’s going to be cooked in the end.
What President Obama did last night was throw out the bait and Romney steped right in it and lapped it up.
I agree. Obama is doing his usual rope-a-dope. That’s why I am not even sweating it and made sure to donate more money today.
🙂
How was the crowd at the liar events today? Anything like what POTUS had in Denver and Wisconsin.
I don’t know the number but it wasn’t close to 30K
it was about 1/5th of PBO’s.
Romney was at some conference speaking today. Forgot the name of it.
That was some memorable conference. The day’s not done and already ppl are forgetting about it.
Another one for the looser column
The Romney campaign put out a figure of ~5K, but that has not been verified by outside sources. Even so, 5K is not 36K or 12K which is what PBO had at his two rallies today.
Thank you, Chips!! Beautiful Coverage.
X2, every day!
Wow. President Obama gets a huge reception from people who appreciate that he works everyday to make things better for all.
Woot!
Great photos!
Earlier, I emailed my friend a link to the article about Martin Sheen’s comments. She raised me five, and sent back more good news about Jim Cramer, which I’d like to share. (I think it was Jim Cramer whose elderly dad was recently told he couldn’t get his voter i.d. card because he didn’t have the proper documentation … after his state’s SOS saw that on CNBC, his dad all of a sudden got the card … and I believe Jim said too bad everybody’s son isn’t on TV, because how many others will this happen to … methinks Jimmy will be votin’ Obama!) Here’s the email response from my friend:
I like hearing my side championed eloquently by someone on my side as much as the next guy.
But what encourages me even more is what I just happened to see on today’s Jim Cramer Mad Money on the finance channel – a show whose audience is, I think, largely republican.
Under the show’s theme of offering advice on which stocks to buy or sell, Cramer just took apart Romney’s comments one by one, saying for example, if you think Romney is going to win and you bought HMO and pharmaceutical stocks today because he’s going to repeal Obamacare you made a big mistake. Obamacare is actually far more profitable for those companies…and then he went on to explain why. He did that for Romney’s position on Dodd-Frank and bank stocks, for the criticism of $90B invested in alt energy and alt energy jobs forecast, etc.
He also managed to work in that Romney had reversed himself last night on just about every topic and he pointed out that if Romney meant what he’s now saying it could have bad consequences for investors because a position closer to Obama’s but without the parts that make the arithmetic work are undoable. This of course brings you back to “uncertainty” as to what Romney would actually do, and that, as we all know, is the one word business hates most.
Since this was clearly not a case of preaching to the choir (not that their spirits don’t have to be kept up), nor was it a case of a known liberal politico offering this info, I found it one of the most surprising and potentially useful post-debate TV commentaries.
Wow. That’s great info. I honestly thought investors would know this about Obamacare already. Baffles me how some business people let their ideology trump sound advice.
Go brooklyn, I think investor brains have a hard time admitting anything that might favor the president. It has to be hammered into their consciousness.
This is very susrprising. And fascinating.
Dems are usually better for business, because Dems take a more holistic approach whereas Repubs are more likely to focus on their friends in high places, which is inherently damaging to the economy as a whole.
Good. Let’s hope that slides more Republicans into the Obama column!
To me many of the comments have been on style, not substance. The President was low key last night, which was fine, just not what his adherents wanted. We have also learned that just before this debate, he handled a NATO conference call about the trouble between Turkey and Syria. Now that is serious stuff. After that, he must have been totally disgusted with Romney and his lies, and his total noncomprehension about what the presidency involves. Sometimes the president’s face registered disbelief at Romney’s antics, and that’s what they were.
We know that Romney is the total narcissist, and he shows it every time he opens his mouth. President Obama is NOT one. He has normal ups and downs, and real events affect him in real time, in genuine emotional ways like us. After that phone call, only a sociopath or a narcissist could have acted in a shrieking way. He had a lot on his mind, but he made his points. I respect him more because he did what he did and acted the way he did. Romnehy did not WIN anything…..he just yelled louder, and certain shallow minds considered that winning.
Look at the crowds for the President today, compare them with Romney’s. Who WON last night???!!!
Well said, Carolyn. The American people won, if they’re smart enough to see all that lying from Romney and all that class and substance from President Obama and re-elect Obama-Biden 2012!
Agreed. And though I know Jim is your cousin, I was not pleased with the way I understand him to have handled the so-called debate. But it’s not personal. Things are more complicated than they appear to us, the viewing audience.
if you talk to your cuz, maybe you could ask what he thought about mittbot saying he would fire him and big bird right there in front of millions, and while giving his little smirk and chuckle at the same time. i thought people were being a little harsh on lehrer, since he like our president were clearly the only adults there, and by at least trying to keep mittbot on topic and on time, but eventually giving up rather than have a shouting match with him, viewers got to see what a true bully and spoiled child mittbot really is.
any criticism directed at lehrer or our president is wasted energy and time, and a distraction from the real task at hand – destroying republican/mittbot’s ideology once and for all!
A pattern of Mitt’s bullying is forming before our eyes. I am sure there are many more in his life than the making fun of and chasing and holding down and cutting the gay boy’s hair. Also there is the leading by the arm of a blind teacher into a door to get laughs from his classmates. He also dressed up in a state patrol man’s uniform to leave some girls stranded thinking the driver of the car they were in was arrested. Then there was the tantrum a few weeks ago refusing to go on unless he got his own way at the Latino tv station live interview. Then there was the bullying of the moderator at the debate.
Obama
Obama
Oops.
On the lighter side, my second son (32 yrs old) has two kids one is almost 2 yrs old and the other is 4 mos old. He emailed me a little while ago with a short message about Mitt Romney being the first presidential candidate that wanted to kill Big Bird. He said it was too bad two year olds couldn’t vote and mentioned preschool t-shirts with a big bird and a message on it from a preschooler might be good. We were mulling around messages and I told him I’d put it on the blog to see what ideas it generated here.
Was thinking of Willard’s smirking face, and thinking what a weasel he really is – don’t know why I was thinking about him. 😕
{{{vc}}} Sheer perfection!!! 🙂
TY, D.
I love your tweets, Dudette!
Thanks job! 🙂
I’m not a Rachel Maddow fan but her first segment is divine!!!!!
Rachel is doing a historical segment on sitting president’s first debate and out of the last 6 only one won the first debate.
meant presidents’ first debate
Remember I want to tell my son ideas for kids shirts about Voting and Big Bird. Ideas?
I love the idea but can’t think of anything brilliant for the wording!
I repeat, did somebody get played last night, lol
Next Debate
PBO: The statement the governor just made is plainly false. But what is worse is he knows it. The facts are..
willard: Are…are ARE you calling me a LIAR??
PBO: No. What I said is you are missinforming the American people and you know that you are to try and get elected.
These words you typed Mag is precisely what most of the president’s supporters wanted. Someone at work told me today that PBO did what he did to seem above it all, to come off presidential. But those words you typed get the job done without denting his likability or stature. That’s all. But, at any rate, FORWARD.
are you suggesting president obama didn’t realize mittbot is a liar coming into the debate? this wasn’t difficult to predict. do you not think president obama was keenly aware that mittbot would do exactly what he did, like anyone here anticipated would happen, and yet president obama chose to handle in the way he did? perhaps president obama knows exactly what he’s doing, you know, the first african american president that got there with his smarts and strategies?
All your scenerio would have resulted in is a shouting match of “you’re a liar no you are a liar”. That too would have been spun by the MSM as a win for Mitt because it would be spun as PBO losing his cool or Mitt getting under PBO’s skin. That is why debates usually have moderators who keep things under control, which was not the case last night. I trust PBO’s judgment and I also realize that there are THREE debates not one. Look back on all the unnecessary hand wringing and second guessing that PBO’s “supporters” have engaged in over the years. Most of the problems arose b/c PBO did not follow one of their preferred timetables (i.e., he lost this news cycle, he is not responding fast enough, he is losing the messaging war, etc). I accept the fact that PBO is a much better politician than I am. I wish others would come to realize this fact too.
This + a bajillion. Been saying the exact thing to folks in my circle over the last 24 hours. It would have been 90 minutes of I know you are but what am I, that’s not what I said, yes it is, no it isn’t, you’re twisting my words, ad nauseum. With the end result being no one having a clearer understanding what either of their plans were for moving the country forward. Right now, it’s still Mittens and only Mittens that no one has any clearer grasp on what he stands for because he lied and flip flopped again.
willard: Are…are ARE you calling me a LIAR??
PBO: Yes.
(there I fixed it for you 😆 )
turned to The Cow just in time to see Dan Rather. Rather said of course Willard won!!! No mention of blatant dishonesty. Click!!!! Back to FX.
just watched the first 10 minutes of our president’s talk in madison today, and it’s clear proof of the rope-a-dope strategy in full force. president obama is very animated and completely on point using all of mittbot’s answers from last night, to imply mittbot is a liar and airhead with no details in his supposed “plans.” he’s and his team obviously decided to embed the two themes in their messaging.
of course, there are still “allies” of the president, even in this thread again, saying president obama is screwing up, yet again, and never seem to acknowledge the rope-a-dope strategy and how effective it is. i always wonder with these “allies” how they’d react if president obama ever actually did make a big mistake some day. how much caterwauling would they be doing then, when they’re already freaking out about president obama successfully executing his gameplan?
I’m starting to think if REAL trouble came along, they would abandon PBO in a heartbeat. I wonder how they would feel if someone in their personal life treated them the way they treat PBO (you are great, handsome and smart so long as you do and say what I want when I want you to). If I’m not moved or blown away by one of your “performances”, I will slam you and go into great detail about how much better I would have done in your place. I think they really do think they are smarter than PBO.
good points. thanks.
EricFive,
I watched the scenario you just mentioned happen in 1980 with the reelection campaign of President Carter. The dems didn’t stick together, primaried President Carter (Sen. Ted Kennedy,) let Ronald Reagan’s campaign lies go unchallenged, remained docile while the MSM savaged President Carter about his failed attempt to rescue the Iranian hostages, and the end result cost us big economically, and especially, in the area of alternative energy development. President Carter had installed solar panels on the roof of the WH, and Reagan took them down as soon as he took office. I will always believe that the dems not sticking together to support President Carter opened the door for trickle down economics, the death grip Big Oil and Big Business have on our government, and that it allowed for the expansion of the role of religious fundamentalists in our government.
These people who are having child-like temper tantrums because the President did not act like a jackass on drugs like Romney did, are like fair weather friends, I agree with you, they wanted the President to act ugly and aggressive like Romney. But instead President Obama acted like the dignified man he is. I don’t see why his so-called supporters cannot understand that.
I watched long enough to hear Danny Boy slip in the word “professorial,” and he wasn’t talkin’ Romney.
So, to recap, do we want a decent, honest, hardworking, brilliant professor-type, the President of Explaining Things, or a lying idiot with no morals, in the Oval Office for the next four years?
Yeah, gimme a minute.
The first segment was the best part of her show 1/6 incumbent presidents won their first debate. 3 who lost, went on to win the presidency, one is yet to come.
Today is a monumental day in my life: I’ve just been followed on Twitter by MC Hammer 😆
😎
Way cool, Chips!!!!
Thank you Bob! I cracked up when I saw it, apart from you he’s my only famous follower 😆
You’re such a dear! I’m hardly famous 😀 😀
Au contraire mon cher, 13.6 Million Hits say otherwise!
Accept it! Accept the love! People love you and there ain’t a thing you can do about it! 😀
😆 You’re most, most kind Dudette, but I do have to share some of the credit with President Obama. Although, I’d like to think that if I was blogging about, say, the sex lives of squirrels I’d get just as many hits 😕
😀 😀 😀 😀
LOL! Touche’, but, um… you DO know how popular porn (of any kind) is on the interwebs, right? 😀
(Between you and me, that’s why I’m currently dedicating most of my time to squirrelhankypanky.com …. 800 million hits and counting 😎 )
Didn’t know squirrels knew how to use hankies … 😀 😀 😀 😀 😀
Huh, mine sure do 😎
LMAO!!!! 😀
Dude!
That is awesome Chips. I am followed by Alicia Keyes but would love to add MC Hammer.
Alicia Keyes? That is beyond excellent Jackie, I’ll swap ya MC Hammer! 😆
That is way kewl!
I must bow down before you! Rock On ChipsChica!
Arise, Lady LunarSea 😆
:green:
You go Chips. You do good work.
Chips how cool is that…way cooollll!
Freaky coooooool!!
Check this out!! Mister Rogers defending PBS to the US Senate in 1969
In 1969, Fred Rogers appeared before the United States Senate Subcommittee on Communications. His goal was to support funding for PBS and the Corporation for Public Broadcasting, in response to significant proposed cuts by President Nixon.
Something tells me that the PBS staff will be voting PBO come Nov.
Which means they’ve been at this sh*t for 43 yrs now and still haven’t given up! I mean really, $billions for a few oil tycoons a-okay but a few $mill for billions of kids is something eating away at them for 4frigging3 years and counting?
Where the he!! are these cretians from? Jupiter!?? They are just not human. Not an ounce of humanity or what makes us human to be found.
I GOT IT! That’s why they hate the thought of evolution. It will lead to the discovery that they are not from any point in the evolutionary ladder. hehehe
They don’t ever give up. They have been trying to get rid of Social Security since its inception. Same with Roe v. Wade.
not human I tell ya…
Was it really? I swore off of all MSNBC today because of Chris and Ed last night.
so did I, I only watched Martin, Rev Al and I’m waiting on Lawrence because he’s the only one who didn’t lose his mind last night. and he also happens to be the only one who is aware that there is such a thing as party loyalty and looking at the big picture.
Hollah!!!
Those 3 and that’s it.
Luckily, I skipped them both last night and skipped Tweety today. I liked Ed’s opener, but we’ll see how it goes.
Hey GF did you see my post about our birthdays on a previous thread?
Yes, thanks, what day is yours? HB, in advance! Has “sherij” been around today, do you know (it’s hers, today!).
I wasn’t on much today. I will send sherijr a tweet right now. My work got in the way again. My birthday is on Monday, the 8th Isn’t yours the 11th or 12th? I think we will both turn 63, correct?
Mine’s the 11th. Thanks for the break on the age, but make that 66 (and proud of it!). Except that it makes me sound “one 6” short of being a little devilish, eh?
Don’t punish Al Sharpton, please.
I record Rev Al. He was great on post-debate analysis.
Me too. I just couldn’t stomach it. I did go see the President here in Denver. He rocked. I’m back up! Canvasing all weekend!!
From FL to CO the ugly Repub mindset is once again in full display. This time it is a family-owned Mexican restaurant
in Denver that refused to allow a Romney campaign event be held at their restaurant. Since this story broke, they have received
hate mail, cancelled reservations, and even death threats. They are Morman so apparently the Romney campaign thought they could get this
Latino family to look good behind them and instead they have brought misery down on this poor family’s heads.
I am very conscious of Chips admonition that we not solicit for anything but OFA for the remainder of the election season
and I agree with it. BUT we can kill two birds with one stone by doing a food bomb to the OFA office near this restaurant
while helping out these people. I suspect they do not deliver but there is an OFA office just 2 miles away and I suspect
someone would be happy to pick up the food. I intend to call both the OFA office and the restaurant tomorrow. If anyone would
like to join me in this endeavor, let me know.
The restaurant info is:
Rosa Linda’s Mexican Cafe
2005 West 33rd Avenue Denver, CO 80211
(303) 455-0608
The owner is Mr Aguirre
The OFA office that is 2 miles away is:
OFA
3867 Tennyson StDenver, CO 80212-2157
(720) 296-3447
It would be nice for these people to know that not everyone is cut from the same cloth that these nasty Repubs demonstrate
routinely.
Wow, thanks so much for this information. Let us know how it goes and whether OFA is game.
Great idea …. maybe this will help get your wonderful idea implemented ….
#FORWARD
Ok, just talked to a delightful young lady at Rosa Linda’s and they are PACKED with customers and she knows that everyone is pulling for them.
So, I asked her what time they open tomorrow – 9a Mountain Time.
Then, asked if I called and ordered $50.00 of food and paid via my credit card, could they coordinate with the OFA office near by to get the food to the office and she said they’d be delighted.
I’ll definitely be calling tomorrow morning 🙂
Thank you Foxfire TX for this great suggestion!!
#PRESSON
Bob, you are a gem– a prince among men. This is a great idea!!
Thank you Jackie, but all the credit for the idea goes to our very own FoxFire!!!
#PRESSON
Oh, & Foxfire TX, when I call I’ll mention that others likely will be calling and that I’d happily let them charge the credit card but wait a few days to send the food so as to spread out the goodies going to OFA from them over the next couple of weeks 🙂
A—W—E—S—O—M—E! I’m thinking of finding the nearest fire station and doing the same thing!!
Very nice, Bob. I wish I could do the same, but can’t right now. But we should get on twitter with this, so that more people can help, perhaps?
Bob, let me check with the OFA office first, I suspect they will be running a canvassing operation on Saturday and that might work better for them. Also, let’s do this together. For a bulk food purchase I think we will get more for our money if we order $100 of food in whatever assortment they want to put together. If you’re agreeable, we can each call with our cc numbers Sat morning. Thanks for your help with this. It really bothers me that people are punished for exercising their right to keep the Romney campaign off their premises.
Bob, I will call the OFA office in the morning. I would guess they will have a canvassing operation going on Saturday and/or Sunday. And we might get more food for our money if we combine our orders for a bulk order. Will update after I talk to someone at OFA.
It would be nice if Dems in the area would pay them a visit of support. And it would REALLY be nice if President Obama could pay then a visit.
Thank you Chips for these fabulous pictures. I missed the whole thing today but these pictures tell a great story.
I am telling you that not even a sardine tin is this packed (lol).
But as my sister said, even if they didn’t see the President it is the fact that they were there. Obama/Biden 2012.
And this is one reason the Walkerites were determined to drag the recall date out until most of the students had left for the summer.
GM folks.
What a pleasant way to wake up to. Wow, look at the fab crowd.
Hello Wisconsin.
I tell you it was one of the most uplifting things to see today. Denver turnout was also very large. And PBO’s speech was magnificent!
YES WE CAN.
Great to see that the voters aren’t buying the bot’s bluster and lies. Did he hit the dishonesty of the last night mitt?
Before you start complaining:
LOL. Thanks chips.
(How much sugar did you out in it?)
96 lumps amk, just to keep yer energy up:
Oh, how cho sweet of you. 🙂
Oh, yes he did. He went into a direct but funny string of lines about the Mitt who showed up last night and the real Mitt. And he gave a powerful wind up that the audience LOVED. See the clip if you can.
I will. Wonder if the liar had campaign events post-debate and the crowd turn-out.
Can’t wait for the ‘polls’ post-debate.
Oddly, he took most of the day off and then had a rally at 8pm. I’ve seen various reports of 7K – 10K attendees.
amk check out the smartypants link above. It discusses the first post debate poll by Reuters. PBO up by 5 over Mitt 48 to 43. The debate increased Mitt’s standing with GOP but hurt him with Independents which PBO won 54 to 44. The article ends thusly: “So just remember that while all the bleating goes on amongst the pundits and partisans about what a lousy job President Obama did last night. “
Thanks eric. Just as we expected, it shored up mittbot’s declining support among his own base while doing diddlysquat with the rest.
Pure gold, amk … watch the videos of the two speeches … he did just what we anticipated he would do and was hilarious in the way he delivered the smack down!!!
#PRESSON
Thanks Bob. I surely will watch the vids. I love it that the voters in Denver and WI said their FU to mittbot in their own way.
GM, Amk! I’m starting to think something is seriously wrong with me when you can say good night and later good morning to me in ONE session on my laptop. My friends (those I still respond to) may have a point that I need to ‘get a life’. Here, take the baton back so I can head on out the gate. G’Night.
:). I’ll take over, vc. Have a gunnite.
Thnx, A
Just for fun, Adele’s new song!
Oh yessssssss!!!! 🙂
I’ve never really be much on Bond Theme songs, but this one is kills!!! line Adele
Love it! Love Adele.
This is pure genius!
Willard just said he was wrong about the 47% remark.
Must be hurting Him!
The bot has the compassion chip installed now ?
Over at TPM, they think that it sounded like something he memorized as a response in the debates.
I adore this woman!!
she is really awesome, isn’t she?!? so well spoken and such an incredible performer. wise beyond her years!
Truly!
More excellent post debate info: Romney helped himself with Republicans, but Obama dramatically increased his standing with Independents. Thanks, Smartypants: http://immasmartypants.blogspot.com/2012/10/first-post-debate-poll-romney-gains.html
So, Chris Hayes says because of Willards new positions, OFA will have to figure out another way of attacking Him.
Alex says, he hopes we have a lobotomy!
These pundits are nuts.
I keep “going to bed”….LOL. Chris made a good point because they do have to keep up with the ongoing flip flops which the public views and may be confused about. I think now I will say good nite 😀
They are PundNUTS!
Booman’s take on the same poll:
“So, again with the caveat that this is just one poll, I don’t think Obama did as badly last night as many people assume. And every women I talked to or overheard today had something negative to say about Romney’s performance. Key words were: rude, bully, condescending, disrespectful, and overbearing.
The comment about Big Bird is going to have a lasting impact, too. And the fact-checkers will be putting their articles into every nook and cranny of the media universe (that is not completely controlled by the right wing). A debate is not won or lost the night it occurs. It is won in the days that come immediately after. ”
http://goo.gl/TbTOl
Remember Romney needs to improve his standing with women and he did exactly the opposite.
Thank you Tien Le. Every woman I’ve heard any comments from regarding #BullyMitt’s performance include all the terms you used and several I just can’t bring myself to type ….
#PRESSON
Women don’t like condescending, rude, nasty, disrespectful, overbearing bullies. We just don’t like them.
Coming up on Lawrence’s next segment: “Why Mitt Romney won NOTHING Last night.”
I hope those stupid pundits and news media listen to Lawrence O’Donnell in his rewrite tonight. I know the pundits won’t listen, because they think they knows everything.
As you know, I avoid certain words/phrases in my own tweets and posts, but this is just too good not to share 🙂
Tweet of the day!!! 😆
As Jodi Kantor would say: Hmmmm…..
That cracks me up every time Hopefruit!!! I honestly thought it was a joke …. until I saw one of her tweets yesterday. Hmmmmm….. an insufferable turd.
You called it right, Bobfr!
I love my President. That is all.
I love him. And I’m very protective of him
Me too, me too! Wub my Pwezzident!! 🙂
I love him too, and have never wavered in my support for him. He nice a fine job at the debate. He knows what he is doing,
He was playing chess, whiles Romney was playing checkers.
Very nice!
R&R had 10k tonight and their big message, Obama will raise your taxes.
He takes our talking points and then denies everything he has been running on.
This Guy is playing mind games.
Obama had that in Denver, by himself.
No it wasn’t 10K. No where near that. I saw footage of the rally on CNN. The Romney camp estimated 5K.
Hey, Chips, can you just imagine the video & music accompanying all the folk who’d be more than willing to ….
…. before or after they cast their ballot for #OBAMABIDEN2012
🙂
It would be rather touching, in memory of Seamus, if the tipping point for many Americans deciding to vote for President Obama after last night, was the fact that #Mitt was so callous to defend tax cuts for mega-profitable oil companies at the expense of destroying ‘Big Bird’ – PBS.
That would be remarkably just irony!
#PRESSON
This is just soooooo typical ….
I saw how sneakily he slide the paper out of his pocket and sneakily slipped it on the podium. It was a cheat sheet.
Oh, meta!!!! Chips, please post that image in your next thread!!!
Hee.
Romney came across as wired up, like he was drugged. Eyes glazed. Definitely unhinged. I would not be proud of that performance if I were his people.
LOVE IT!!!! 😀
I grew up watching Big Bird and Elmo. I can’t believe that Mitt is attacking Big Bird. What a disgusting lying man Mitt is.
Gotta keep banging the drum!!
I don’t go on Hufpo often but I saw this post by Hank10303 and thought it was briliant:
Debate: 1. To consider something; deliberate.
2. To engage in argument by discussing opposing points.
By the very definition of the word “debate” I’m having trouble with this narrative that Romney won the “Presidential Debate”. If the object is to discuss opposing views, and one of the debaters misinforms, mischaracterizes or blatantly lies about their respective position and assumes one entirely different from what initiated the “debate”, then clearly that person didn’t win the debate because he/she never discussed their respective “opposing points”; but those of positions that, by previous proclamation, are different and/or misleading on the points he/she previous stated. Then by the words very definition Romney could not have won the debate on the merit of his positions, with regards to the issues discussed. Did Romney give a good performance – yes. But, the responsibilities of the office of the President of these United States is not a talent show. That the media is now part taking in the dumbing down of America, again; is disturbing. That all media seem to be allowing the republican party to redefine what constitutes a quality debate has nothing to do with the content of the discussion, but only the performance of the participants is astounding. Especially when one considers that practically every journalist has had some form of higher education and several have had debates themselves. Shouldn’t you all know better and aren’t they condoning lying as a means to having the best “performance”?
Thanks for sharing this Donna. I agree. The MSM decided it was going to declare Mitt the “winner” regardless of what transpired during the actual debate. This fact is borne out by CNN’s bogus telephone poll that only polled southern white men over 50 and this new aversion to calling out a politician for flip flopping and lying during a Presidential debate. They are changing the rules (moving the goalposts) to help Mitt’s floundering campaign.
New post everyone:

Liberals slam Obama on Social Security
Alexander Bolton – 10/04/12 05:20 PM ET
Sen. Sanders strongly criticized President Obama for not taking a more forceful stance on Social Security in the presidential campaign.…
Again?
What is up with these stupid ass liberals? Do they want to win this election? I am just about fed up with Sen. Sanders.
Liberal are notorious for snatching defeat from the jaws of victory. I can’t beleive they are doing this right before an election.
I love Madison WI for Loving Pres Obama. thank you everybody for showing up
