These Romney supporters remind me of the racist haters who would file in for a Sarah Palin appearance.

You know, I’m not sure how I would react if I came face to face with a cut out of Mitt, so I’m going to give them the benefit of the doubt. I don’t like him. At times I feel sorry for him because he seems so pathetically inept, but I’m really not sure how I would react if a cut out of him was right there. I’d like to think I’d pass it by with no comment and a look of disdain but I really am not sure. I think they are hateful and dumb for not seeing PBO’s goodness, but they probably think I’m envious and dumb for not embracing Mitt. Just saying.

I see the racists are staging their last desperate attempt to stir up racial animosity. I could sense it happening—-too many solid poll numbers for Obama. Twitter aflutter about some drudge video of 2007 Obama appearance before a black audience. I’m not checking the details, but I know what the purpose is.

    • October 2, 2012 at 6:33 pm

As Greg Sargent said, if this video is so damning, why wasn’t it used in 2008?

    this afternoon from sam wang:

‘ In national polls, the median for polls from 9/26 to 10/1 is Obama +4.0+/-0.6% (n=11). Yet the Meta-Margin, which measures what it would take to flip the swing states, is at Obama +6.0%, including a substantial uptick today.

Although the Meta-Margin, which is based on state polls, can sometimes take a little while to catch up with national polls, it is extremely precise – within a few tenths of a percentage point. Its sharp rise indicates that something is afoot. Obama appears to be significantly overperforming in critical battlegrounds compared with the rest of the country. Is this because of the much-vaunted microtargeting by the Obama campaign? Whatever the cause, this hill is a very, very tall one for Romney to climb in October. ‘

I’m not sure what ” the meta margin can sometimes take a little while to catch up with national polls” means. Are they supposed to match the national polls? If so, how are they extremely precise? Anybody get it?

      • 49 susanne
        October 3, 2012 at 12:24 am

short answer: not entirely. seems it uses state by state polling data to predict the electoral college, instead of national popular vote data. since the states are not being polled as often, there is a lag. here’s a bit of the explanation on the princeton site:

‘ Calculations are based on recent available state polls, which are used to estimate the probability of a Democratic/Republican win, state by state. These are then used to calculate the probability distribution of electoral votes corresponding to all 2.3 quadrillion possible combinations.
        ~
Meta-Analysis uses an overlooked method to calculate the probability of getting an exact number of electoral votes, covering all ways of reaching that number given the individual state win probabilities.
        ~
State polls are done less often than national polls. Does that introduce a delay into your analysis?

Yes. As of early August this delay is about two weeks in key states. The delay will diminish dramatically as the campaign season progresses. A correction based on national polls is possible, but adds considerable uncertainty to the estimate. ‘

Do the media even understand that President Obama had a white mother, was raised by his white grandparents and grew up in Hawaii? How stupid do they have to be to think that he even registers stuff like that? He has every rainbow under the sun in his family. When that’s all you’ve known, you don’t really differentiate it – they are just people. Everyone’s the same under the skin…

      Racists are completely illogical.

        October 2, 2012 at 9:49 pm

Theo, my theory is that these racists view everything through a racial prism, so they assume everybody else does too. They hate PBO because he is black, so they figure he hates them because they are white. Also don’t forget the legacy of slavery in this country and the “one drop rule” which declared someone black or nonwhite if he/she has one drop of black blood (this enabled slaveholders to impregnate his slaves without creating heirs). To these racists, the fact that PBO’s mother is white does not effect his “blackness” one bit. Racism was never logical. It is about power and justifying the subjugation of a people.

Good morning from my world – I’m reading some great things today

Voter suppression by the GOP seems to have had a bad day
    Mississippi – not this year – http://www.clarionledger.com/article/20121002/NEWS/310020046?nclick_check=1
    Pennsylvania – not this year – http://thetimes-tribune.com/news/judge-halts-pa-s-tough-new-voter-id-requirement-1.1381901

With every group except white men voting overwhelmingly for President Obama, it seems Romney’s total support comes from white suits who think it’s a great idea for the rich to get richer – and who cares about anyone else – most of them are probably married – they may yet get the message. In passing Gallup has the figures at 50-44 today.

Michelle Obama is massively popular at rallies (Miss Ann is probably weeping, while trying to keep Mitt sane) and Joe Biden seems to get bigger crowds every day as the election gets closer. President Obama shows with every part of his life that he knows what he is doing.

Thank you for all the good news Chips – my main call for all things US – today I have a busy day with daughter & granddaughter so will have to wait until this evening to catch up on everything else

My guess is, it’s white Obama in brown face…… How do you like them apples? Now that’s a conspiracy worthy of Drudge. Can you imagine Obama being white all this time but he’s been wearing black make up?! If only Drudge could get more evidence, then Chunky Toad and his other Repuke pals wouldn’t have to worry about PBO getting reelected because of “white guilt.”

          October 3, 2012 at 12:23 am

Well, Well, Chips! You mean to tell me that President Obama is black and I didn’t know about this for almost four years now? This is truly a scandal of major proportion! The liberal media are to blame because they’ve been fooling me (and many other patriotic Americans, I am sure) by constantly showing the President as a white man. Now, to be honest, I already knew that he was a Kenyan, muslim, socialist, communist, Nazi! But I never knew he was indeed a black man. All along, I thought that he was a white Kenyan like that deranged anthropologist who has been poisoning the minds of our children with all this evolution stuff; especially his blasphemy — contradicting God’s intelligent Design — saying that there is one human family whose ancestors all began in Africa. Just imagine! This evolution foolishness is being taught to our children with tender minds when all intelligent people know fully well that God created superior and inferior races. It’s right there in the Holy Book about the son’s of Noah and how the descendants of one of his son were condemned to be inferior servants hence the black skin which is the mark of their curse.

The bastards…. They are bringing this up now just in time for the debates… Pumping up racial anxiety. They know that there are many people who think, on the rational level, that President Obama is a good and decent man who has done a good job, but are still hesitating to vote for President Obama because they unconsciously are more at ease with a white man as president. They know that many of those people will watch the debates, and that seeing the two candidates side by side may have an effect, in the sense that those people will be tempted to go with the tall, handsome white man ( Romney doesn’t have any charm or charisma but his physical appearance is quite good) instead of the tall, handsome ( really) black man.

I find hate in my heart for the republicans, and it’s not fun. It shouldn’t be like this.

      • 126 jackiegrumbacher
        October 2, 2012 at 9:58 pm

Well, Lovepolitics, I don’t think most people have any clue who Drudge is and won’t see this video. Tens of millions will watch the debates, however, so whatever comparisons people are supposed to make won’t happen. I don’t happen to think Romney is remotely handsome because his face has no life and he smirks constantly. He’s a tall man in his sixties who is not overweight, but, as an “older” white woman, I think he’s pheromone challenged.

    These people are pure EVIL:

Strange Surge In California Points To More GOP Voter Fraud

Statewide, Republican voter registration in California is in decline. Thirty percent of voters are now listed as Republican as opposed to 32% in 2008. It was awfully suspicious, then, when GOP registrations in Riverside County jumped by 35,000 this year, seemingly giving them an advantage of 51,000 voters over Democrats. It turns out that thousands of Democrats have been re-registered as Republicans without their permission.

A Republican voter outreach program named ā€˜The Golden State Voter Participation Project’ stationed workers outside of stores and welfare offices to sign people up. Democratic activists are alleging fraud and have given the county registrar of voters 133 affidavits from Democrats, many of whom are Latino or African American, who state that they were wrongly re-registered as Republicans. Many were presented with documents that were misrepresented. One thought he was signing a petition to lower the price of gasoline, another that he was supporting the legalization of marijuana. Some were promised free cigarettes in exchange for signing.

The first day of early voting in Lucas County is over, and the turnout was nearly twice that of the first day of early voting in 2008.
According to Meghan Gallagher, director of the Lucas County Board of Elections, 928 people voted today at the Early Vote Center, 1500 N. Superior St.
The compares with 500 on the first day of early voting four years ago, the first presidential election in which Ohio had in-person absentee voting for anyone who wanted to vote early.

North Carolina Poll: Obama By 2 Points, 20-Point Advantage Among Early Voters

    Wow
There’s a new poll out tonight of North Carolina from SurveyUSA. The topline shows President Obama with a 2 point lead over Mitt Romney, which is near where most recent polls have been. But among those voters who plan to cast early ballots, Obama has a 20 point lead.

My Ron Paul supporter brother goes to Drudge straight away for all of his news. You now can feel sorry for me. 😦

Obama Grandmama, No need to feel sorry for you! If you’ve tried your best to educate your brother but his mind is closed there isn’t much you can do. All you can do is love him despite his ignorance and refusal to search for more credible info. instead of relying on Drudge and Fox News.

      Hi ObamaBoy

I don’t have an issue with it. Celebs are voters too. I don’t connect with those vids as much as I do the videos from women, the average citizen, families touting healthcare and making the case on why POTUS should be reelected etc. But bottom line, we all make an impact and celebs do have a following. So if they can reach one more person, encourage one more person to register, volunteer or vote . . . then I appreciate all hands on deck. Especially as we are so close to Nov 6.

I don’t have an issue with it.

I don’t either. Especially after hearing for the past three years how Obama has lost Hollywood. cough*MattDamon*cough

Come on ObamaBoy, what do you think John Elway is? Last time I check celebrities are Americans too, and they care about this country, and they have issues that they care about.

    • October 2, 2012 at 11:29 pm

Barack Obama is President of all Americans. There is a great cross-section of ads “reaching” out to everyone. Celebs have their fan base who may be chuffed to hear what their celeb has to say. Not everyone is aware of what is happening so if they garner votes to re-elect PBO from their respective fans, I don’t have a problem with it. šŸ™‚

That video of Bernice singing her “Black Man” song reminded me of one of my favorite clips from Designing Women… had to tweet it!

I don’t know why but I get a kick out of these celebrity videos. Alexis Bledell!!! – my daughters and I are the biggest Gilmore Girls fans ever. I actually already liked all those other actors already, but now I REALLY like them.

For tomorrow’s debate, Romney obviously will have some catchy phrases primed and ready to drop when he has an opportunity. President Obama should just say in that cool way of his – “So Governor, was that one of your ‘zingers’??”
