Why is CBS keeping the volume so low? What’s their issue now. I have to turn my volume way up just to hear anything.

Start sending some Tweets to Jim Lehrer?
Try to play the Refs a bit. I am sure his staff reads the Tweets.
However, I don’t know his address for PBS.

    President Obama is winning.

  13. September 30, 2012 at 9:19 pm

We’re entering that part of the campaign where polls are going to start fluctuating quite a bit. People are starting to pay attention and making up their minds. I guess for some people, it’s rocket science.

  14. 51 utaustinliberal
    September 30, 2012 at 9:22 pm

Pres. Obama still leads, Romney’s unfavorables are still high and the Ohio voters they polled really really like the auto bailout and looks like that may swing their vote Pres. Obama’s way. But we’re not going to keep our eye off the ball until all votes have been counted.

  15. 52 Cman
    September 30, 2012 at 9:23 pm

The one showing Obama leading in Ohio like every other Ohio poll out there? I don’t get the whole freak out over one poll. This is what polls do they go up and down because different people are sampled. What is important is to look at the average of polls. Average tells you that what lots of people are saying. So for Ohio Romney has only led in the polls there twice since the summer. One from a purples states strategy poll in august (R +2) and another in a gravis poll in early September(R+3). The rest show PBO leading. At this point it is very hard to see him losing the state.

People should not compare poll to poll on any given day and freak out that it does not say the same thing. The law of number suggest that it won’t.

  16. September 30, 2012 at 9:27 pm

Here is a local Las Vegas stream. They have been playing music. Just heard the crowd chanting Obama, Obama. http://www.fox5vegas.com/category/214174/embedded-live-stream-box-2

  17. September 30, 2012 at 9:28 pm

It was +5 and now it’s +4. Another poll has PBO up by 9 today. The freak out and conspiracy theories I see out there makes us look like the crazy from the other side.

    • 55 hopefruit2
      September 30, 2012 at 9:38 pm

I’m not freaking out about the poll – I’m commenting on the shift in media narrative with a nod to the Romney supporters that he’s still in the game, most likely to get people to watch the debates. PPP has been on their “good news for Romney” and “yes Obama can lose” shtick since morning with regard to this particular poll. That’s what we’re observing. I’m not too concerned about the actual poll because PPP weight their OH poll by D+5, and the 2008 exit polls were D+8

      • 56 Cman
        September 30, 2012 at 9:54 pm

The weighing thing is part of the ‘freak out’. It is one poll and pollster don’t decide who they pick to interview. They interview people and control for demographics only and then the political affiliation falls where it falls. Saying they changed their weighting to show a closer race is like the unskewed polls guy saying the polls were all oversampling dems. One poll will show different people’s opinion from another poll which will show yet another set of people’s opinion. What is important is that in aggregate the polls show that Obama is persuading more people with his argument.

        • 57 hopefruit2
          September 30, 2012 at 10:08 pm

If you look at the crosstabs of that Ohio poll, they have Obama receiving only 77% of the Black vote, and 62% of the non-white vote. Just as a reminder, Obama won 97% of the Black vote in Ohio in 2008, and there’s no way he’s getting 77% in 2012. Just saying.

          • 58 Cman
            September 30, 2012 at 10:17 pm

What is also possible is that blacks who voted last time 97% voted for Obama and the black who did not support Obama most just did not vote. One poll could have captured more of those who did not vote or who voted and are unsure this year. It is one poll and so a quick and dirty snapshot. It does not help to lose sleep over one. If you see 5 or 7 polls with the same consistent findings then you should start to worry.

Fantastic – I always love thinking about President Obama rightfully staying in the Presidential Suite wherever he goes. He earned that suite, and every other perk that comes with being President. And he works hard every day to keep earning those perks. Being President isn’t a destination for President Obama – it’s a means to an end; a vehicle to make things happen for the American people and the people of the world.

Anniebella, I have total confidence in my President! As Muhammad Ali would say: “He will float like a butterfly and sting like a bee.” At the end of the debate, Mitt will probably be the one all bloodied or the one lying flat on his back after PBO lands a KO punch.

Doing well, VC except for having to deal with a nasty cold that is disorganizing me. Thank you so much for asking. You are always too fast out of the blocks for some of us on the Pacific coast. So, I rarely get the opportunity to shake hands with you and to congratulate you for being first most of the time. I also tend to visit the blog after work which means that it is usually in the wee hours when most of you on the East coast are fast asleep. But I truly enjoy and appreciate all your commentaries, and especially your sense of humor.

pbo: ‘we don’t believe that anybody’s entitled to success…’

hmmm, now who do we know who seems to think he’s entitled to success? somebody who admits he was born with a silver spoon in his mouth, who had trust funds and stocks and family estates to cushion his every move in life? now, who could pbo be referring to here? πŸ™‚

I realize it might annoy some folks when the crowds talks.. but I really like it.. for me it means that folks are comfortable enough to have a conversation w/ POTUS.. and he’s just as comfortable “talking” TO us in return. These crowds are people who feel they have a voice and never fail to use it when they have the President right in front of them. And they LISTEN. I tell ya, we’re going to win this.. IF all these p;eople turn these numbers and their voices in to actual VOtES.

Evening ya’ll. I’m just getting down to checking my blogroll and my twitter feed. Did I miss anything…”game changing”…lol.

So I guess now that debates are coming up time for more MSM polls showing race closer than usual, somehow Romney made up ground…yeah right!

I’ve been ignoring the polls for a while now and I’ll continue to do so.

    Have a good night ya’ll

        September 30, 2012 at 11:25 pm

you got that right! when you look at the polling charts that show the ups and downs, it’s telling that the rethug line always dips down after they say or do something. they’re buzzing along then, boom–ryan is chosen, and they take a dip. then it’s pretty even again and, boom–the rethug convention sends their numbers back down. and so on. one of the columnists today said the current rethug strategy seems to be playing out the clock. but since they’re losing….not such a bright strategy. unless, of course, they do worse every time they do something!

You are so right, theo67. It is a dedication and sacrifice. I cut my special foods for this month just to get mine in plus I already give monthly. I dedicate mine to our seniors, our military families, our teacher, first responders, our college students, our families with children who need food and homes.

And I know that we need POB another four years because the court systems are in great needs and that is so dear to my heart because of very personal family members who are serving. The federal courts are hurting because Congress would not confirm POB’s nominations. We have got to do this. Donate, donate, phone bank, do whatever you are able to do. Please. SCOTUS nominations in the next term are sooooooooooo important.HZ

Totally agree Amk. I have not been impressed with the OFA web page digital team this election cycle at all. They took the best campaign website in politics and screwed with it so much that at times it has been useless. Today would have been a great day to have the counter up counting down to the 10 Million donations. Time and time again they have IMO missed the mark.

Well, I made my largest donation to date on Friday…$100.00. Now, this breaks my measley budget for a bit, but it’s past crunch time and I know that money will come back to me in spades once PBO is re-elected. I canvassed on this lovely day and the best person I ran into was a little girl about 6 years old who said “I like Obama”. I asked her why and she said “because he’s friendly”. Well, my heart was elated and just to think her grandmother didn’t even know about TOD where I told her she could get all types of goodies on PBO. Her grandmother wanted to vote 50 times, she was so fired up….LOL. She was very anxious to volunteer as well. Another gentleman, when I asked him had he made up his mind, he just burst out laughing and told me “you just said his name”. He said he did not want anyone messing with his medicare, so he is all in. The support is really strong in my part of Delaware County, PA right outside of Philly. Going back out this weekend as I work through the week and study in the evening, don’t care for the phones, so door to door is my speed. Plus, you get to talk to Libertarians who are a strange bunch….LOL. Takes all types to make this crazy quilt country of ours. Incidentally, PBO exuded mucho confidence tonight. Bless his heart, and I will be directing positive energy via my prayers that he creams Romney back into his zombie-land from whence he comes. Nite all !

Okay, TOD, I am in need of a little feedback: believe it or not, I am really torn about watching the debates. No question I admire PBO beyond description, but it means I will have to watch and listen to Myth Robney, and at the best of times that is very difficult for me to do. I seldom even watch the YouTube videos of him, he leaves so much imbalance behind, and he never has anything to say. So. Am I alone in this procrastinating mental state, or do any of y’all understand where I am at? Feedback will be deeply appreciated!

    • September 30, 2012 at 10:52 pm

Pamela, what matters is that you are dedicated to re-electing the President. You do not have any reason to disrupt the quality of your life by listening to another word Mitt has to say – ever.

Recommend you just follow the tweets and live blogging here at wonderful TOD – you’ll know how well our President is doing and you don’t have to see or hear that liar Romney.

Just my opinion, of course. Hope it helps.

Thank you, thank you, everyone who has replied! All your thoughts are very helpful…. And I am relieved, but not surprised, that I am not alone in feeling this way. I like the idea of just live blogging along with all o’ y’all, but as much as I want to hear PBO, I just know Myth will deplete me for days. So, again my thanks, you have helped enormously! Also, I have an inclination to hold Robney responsible for the onset of the recession, and the near depression of the economy. For years we all watched unemployment grow, wondering why it was happening, and how could it be that people were so suddenly out of work. For years we watched as overseas operators started taking our calls for service, scratching our heads about the source of this. Now we know. Now we know and we will not forgive.

You are not alone in that thinking, Pamela. I’ve been thinking the same thing. BESIDES…..a big BESIDES, hubby and I will be in a hotel room that night on our way to our daughter’s (to celebrate granddaughter’s second birthday). Not sure how I feel about watching in the first place and it may be even more difficult with hubby who I assume is still supporting Romney. He never says anything and keep in mind, he heard no news all summer/early fall since he was on the AT. For sure, I’ll follow along on TOD. If we do watch, I’ll make sure it’s C-Span. πŸ™‚

That is a tough spot tnmtngirl. Perhaps, and in an optimistic tone, your hubby might finally see for himself the contrast and know for certain there is only One choice. That would be a gift and a blessing! I know you will both be looking forward to the birthday of your darling granddaughter!

Pamela, you are not alone. My problem isn’t just hating to hear Romney, but I get quite nervous about PBO, even with all
his genius. Not that I doubt his ability…Oh no. I just get that way and can’t control it. In 2008 I could not watch live. I watched
the recorded version after I checked out and found that he did well. πŸ™‚ Weird I know but I am trying to be stronger this time around…However I don’t know if I will be able to cope with Romney. He literally makes my stomach turn.

Although I love the live blogging I made myself also watch McCain last time though I couldn’t stand him, simply because I wanted to get a personal sense of the atmosphere surrounding the questions and answers. I plan to do the same this time if all goes well. Both Willard and McCain make me cringe, but I felt I needed to see the interactions for myself (I trust my instincts for nuances) as there was no way on this side of heaven I was going to watch the debate after the fact (i.e. like the replays). For me watching for myself gave me a better sense of the debaters, the live audience response, the moderators and the pundits – my disdain for the latter was born AND honed during the 2008 election cycle.

If your stomach is not weak, sit beside me and we can watch it together. For me I need the eye witness viewing, nothing compares… enhances, but doesn’t replace. My 1 cent! πŸ˜‰

It’s not so much my stomach, as it is the solar plexus. Myth dwells there, and PBO is all about the Heart Center. I know where I choose to live, and for me it’s best to leave that solar plexus stuff alone… No need to stir it all up. But I will sit beside you at the Inauguration, and that will be a wonderful day in the neighborhood!

Okey-dokey, you have worked your way through the mist with a little verbalization from your friends! πŸ˜† Are you coming to the Capitol for the Inauguration? Sweet! I’ll look forward to that.

Pamela, I won’t be watching the debate. Thankfully, I will be at work. But even if I was at home I probably would only watch it C-Span, but definitely not on cable or network channels. I may watch a C-Span re-run of of the debate after I come home. One thing I will make sure to avoid like a plague is listening to media pundits telling me who won or lost. I want to watch the debate and then asses it for myself without all the media background noise trying to manipulate low information voters.

The campaign’s internal polls of key states show a broad hardening of support for Obama and softening support for Romney. And the campaign expects forthcoming public polls from Ohio, Virginia and Nevada will be terrible for Romney.

I don’t like posting a link to GOPolitico but I thought this was interesting. Romney is going to politize the murder of the 4 American patriots we lost undoubtly because the next set of polls will be bad for him.

The man smirks even when he’s just walking (like a robot). If he tries to use the murder of the Ambassador and the other three embassy staffers, then he’s going to regret it. President Obama genuinely cares about the military and his staff. He won’t let them and their families and their memories be used as political ploys. Romney better think again.

It was the walk in this one – got me more than the smirk – everyone else is walking “normally” – Willard seems to be unable to act “normal” when a camera is around – He is a weird dude.

Aspergers Syndrome? I have read comments on other blogs suggesting the possibility. I don’t know, but I remember a TV series (I believe it was Boston Legal) and one of the characters had classic Aspergers. I don’t think Mitt has all the symptoms, but he seems to exhibit some of them.

I’m so proud of our President and all the millions of ordinary people who stand up for him every day and at times like this when it matters most. BRAVO and love to our POTUS and the community he has built, from the bottom up.

Homeland series was so good, almost real.
It started out with the News reporting that Israel had attacked 5 nuclear power plants in Iran, and the US Embassy had protesters.
And then, the Former CIA agent was investigating an imminent attack.
It was so real… I love this Show.

This is truly the fight for our lives. So donated $100 to PBO and totally broke the budget when I got Nancy Smash’s DCCC email as well as
DWS – DNC email and had to chip in to get a new congress. I know in the end it will all be worth it.

McCain all over the News, just slamming everything the President dies(on foreign policy), everything sucks, according to Him. I have never seen such an angry Child, still mad that he lost.
    He needs therapy!
