Congrats! I notice you’ve been watching football.

Well, no, not watching, as I’m at work, but following online. I expect Chips to give me an appropriate prize for first.

Given the fact that you and your Chelsea buddy have been trying to jab Chips in the sides I wouldn’t be too hopeful, if I were you. Then again, she might be uber professional and give you a lovely, lovely award. Who knows what mood she’ll be in? ๐Ÿ˜‰

Oh no, VC, dear, I am hopelessly off schedule today, due to a number of factors, ALL of which have nothing to do with my own self! Weekends in the skilled nursing are different from weekdays, but never mind, sometimes things take longer than we would wish! I am finally eating lunch, roughly 6 hours after breakfast, way too long for me, but all is well now! I occasionally have a chance to peek in, usually it is within minutes after our Chips has put up a new thread. Tho I am seldom first, I love that intuitively I am still connected to my TOD family!

Yeah, Chips seems to have implanted some sort of a bell in our subconscious. One of these days we should try and get her to tell us how she did it .

    • September 29, 2012 at 3:56 pm

Huh, it’s you, on this of all days.

      Okay ….

Hello all, and congrats LL. I’m always a thread behind (at least) so I’m on this one celebrating the Romney’s circus of lies video. I figured something like that was coming, and glad to see it. Wish they’d gone on even longer, but I figure they know attention spans better than I do. My first awareness that something like politics existed was watching Adlai Stevenson on the news with my grandparents, so I’ve been around for a lot of campaigns and politicians. And I simply can’t believe what I’m seeing. Looking at Romney smirk through the statement that PBO doesn’t tell the truth about him is utterly mind boggling. “How shall I say this?” he asks, and well he should ask. Followed by lie after lie with the same “serious” face. And then, farther down the thread, to read, in a link to TPM, that his debate “strategy includes luring the president into appearing smug or evasive.” There are no words……

Except thanks to Chips, and the whole gang, for this oasis.

Billionaire J.K. Rowling is without a doubt the richest person in the United Kingdom. As the sole author of the mega-hit Harry Potter series, some Republicans in this country would suggest that “she built wrote that” all on her own and should therefore be left to enjoy all the fruits of her labor with no thought to her responsibility to anyone else.

Read what she said about HER economic patriotism…..Absolutely Fabulous!

Nice, have a safe trip. Remember don’t go messing around with the windows aboard the aircraft. I don’t know why, but for some reason they just don’t open.

Well hellloooo OOOO’s!!!! Wassup on this, yet another great gettin up day in the TOD caravan to Wednesday’s debate? I’m sure loving the speeches these past few days by our team. POTUS, FLOTUS, VPOTUS, and the whole crew are doing a grand job. I’m so impressed with the enthusiasm that has always been there, but now seems to have bubbled over as a force to be reconned with. Yay us!

My political take today is I wonder if the RWNJ will ever take a moment to self reflect on just what and how they have caused the complete failure of their party. I doubt it, since they will be forever trapped in the denial and anger phases of the grieving process for the loss of their country. They have already participated in the bargaining phase by agreeing to Mittiful as the candidate to save them. The final acceptance phase would be just too hard to handle. It would be the rapture upon them.

I’ve been thinking about Romney’s “zinger” strategy if it even exists (I’m beginning to thing the Romney strategy is to just throw out all these debate pre stories to give the Obama folks and the media some sort of false expectation of …???)

Zingers only work if they make sense. “Noun, verb, 9/11” makes sense with someone like Guiliani. The same zinger means less against anyone else.

And usually they often come in a counterpoint against what your opponent says. Now does anyone truly believe that Romney will have many opportunities to do this with Obama? Like I’ve said, if you don’t at least give Obama the benefit of being a great debater, he is at least compotent. Plus unlike Obama, Romney has had more flip-flop on darn near every issue.

Plus I suspect like McCain, Romney has NEVER had to debate a person of color in his life. He’s got to treat POTUS with some respect. Obama can still win with smaller parts of the white electorate and that part can get even smaller if by trying to “zing” the first African American President he comes off as being flippant or disrespectful. Heck after McCain’s “that one” thing in his debate with Obama, you had people blistering McCain on his condescension…and people LIKED McCain. The village except for Halperin and the Faux-lite people don’t really like Romney, and he already has a problem with people thinking he’s a condescending douche!
