Yes, Donna. It’s exactly what I would have done had I been there. They don’t want to subject themselves to being lied and condescended to by a little twit. I think a walk out speaks more volumes than the boos. Good for them.

        Hey UT,

I must have missed the interviews of the people who walked out of the AARP (AKA Brilliant and Generous-of-heart Equity Appreciating Seniors).

Can you please provide a reference for video etc where they were interviewed? Thanks a bunch

R-money and his entitled wife deserve this blowback! Meanwhile those of us in the 47% who are working in the trenches take nothing for granted. My OFA team is out there every week registering voters, calling supporters, etc.
I have a group of artists and poets who have put together a poster project to help support President Obama’s re-elect. Check it out:

Apparently that’s how he acts when he’s not on camera. If it had been recorded I doubt he would have talked to her that way. I watched the meeting he had with his “supporters” when he insulted the cookies from the towns famous bakery. The woman who asked if he would cut education because her daughter loved her music program and without that program her daughter would not be engaged and he pretty much nodded and never acknowledged his intent to gut the Dept of Education.

    • 36 jackiegrumbacher
      September 22, 2012 at 3:22 pm

This woman is so credible and real–she is the teacher many Americans remember and loved in school. But Romney treated her with the contempt he has already expressed for the 47 percent. She wasn’t a person to him but a symbol of something he disdains. Little did he know how powerful her voice is or how many people she will now influence.

In America, you do not act like Louis IV and expect people to accept you. You do not run for president with contempt in your words, actions and manner. It has stopped being clear what exactly Romney is doing in this campaign. If he needs to boss people around and act like an insensitive, ruthless leader, there are probably still some multinational companies that will hire him on. Although, frankly Willard, you are getting a little long in the tooth for even that. Time to take your entitled rear and your ugly assumptions back to you nearest house (with or without car elevator) and entertain yourself with your own delusions of grandeur. Preferably alone, so you don’t offend any cats or dogs.

(I love Cheryl’s shirt and want one just like it.)

    • September 22, 2012 at 4:16 pm

Wow…Cheryl was open to Myth Romney’s point of view. Only to discover that he was not interested in an open dialogue. He only wanted to put his elitist POV out there. Cheryl had an answer for his comments. He says “I didn’t ask you a question” So rude and so memorable. I hope the word is spread about how he dismissed a teacher that just wanted to make a difference. [Not make millions of dollars.] Something Myth can’t understand.

President Obama will not be greeted by Gov. Scott Walker at the airport in Milwaukee on Saturday, but a campaign spokeswoman said he doesn’t mind.

Instead, Obama will be joined by Hall of Fame Milwaukee Brewer Hank Aaron at a fundraising stop.

“We’ll take Hank Aaron over Scott Walker any day of the week on our trip to Wisconsin,” spokeswoman Jen Psaki said.

According to a pool report, during his fundraising appearance later Saturday at the Milwaukee Theatre, President Barack Obama will be delivering remarks at a reception for around 550 people.

Tickets for that event started at $250.

Obama will then participate in an event for approximately 20 people who paid $25,000 each to attend.

Baseball great Henry Aaron will attend both events.

The pool report noted that proceeds from the events will go to the Obama Victory Fund, a joint fundraising committee that includes Obama for America, the Democratic National Committee and several state Democratic parties.

I see on Mediaite that Willard’s comments at the Boca fundraiser that he wished he were Mexican (for votes) wasn’t the first time he said it, also said it previously on Fox & Friends (of course). I think he thinks this is a real funny thing to say—–to that well-heeled audience in Fl. and to Fox viewers—–that it’s so outrageous it’s funny, that he, Willard Mitt Romney, who has had every advantage from birth, would wish to be Mexican, a demo that has had so much hate and vitriol thrown their way by those same audiences. 23. September 22, 2012 at 4:21 pm

Vice President Joe Biden went on the offensive on Medicare at a Saturday campaign rally in New Hampshire, mocking Republicans for defending a program they originally opposed and now want to overhaul.

“If you came from another country and you just listened to their convention, you’d say, those guys came up with a great idea 50 years ago,” Biden told supporters.

“You’d think it was a Republican idea,” Biden told supporters.

Medicare, signed into law by President Lyndon Johnson in 1965, has emerged as a major issue in this election — with both campaigns accusing the other side of sabotaging the popular entitlement program. Republicans — led by Rep. Paul Ryan — have proposed a budget that would transform the current program of guaranteed benefits into a voucher system for future retirees.

Democrats, on the other hand, made cuts to Medicare as part of their 2010 health care overhaul. Democrats have defended those changes as cost-saving measures but Republicans have accused them of cutting the program to fund Obama’s health care law.

Biden went on to defend the administration’s changes to the program as an expansion of benefits, not a cut.

“Under the president’s leadership, we in fact, increased benefits,” he said. “Anybody on Medicare today — ask them. They have more benefits today than they did the week we came into office.”

Biden also went on the offense against cuts to Medicaid — a health care program for low-income adults that Biden said will also affect senior senior citizens.

“This is their plan,” Biden said. “They knock a total of 19 million people off of Medicaid.”

As a result, Biden said, many senior citizens are “going to get kicked out of nursing homes.”

Knoller’s hungry again—–tweeting about Obama’s stop for brats—-and now this:

  30. September 22, 2012 at 5:11 pm

MILWAUKEE –  President Obama’s trip to Osawatomie last December wasn’t his last brush with Bull Moose history.

The Milwaukee theater where Obama’s holding a pair of fundraisers Saturday is the same place Teddy Roosevelt spoke minutes after an assassination attempt left him with a bullet in his chest in the midst of his Progressive Party run.

Roosevelt was knocked over by the shot, but not out nearly a century ago on Oct. 14, 1912 —he even stopped his aides from beating would-be killer John Schrank and began interrogating the man for his motives.

“It takes more than that to kill a bull moose,” Roosevelt told the crowd when he finally took the stage at what was then the Milwaukee Auditorium, after waving off pleas to go to the hospital.

With nervous aides positioned all around to catch him if he collapsed, Roosevelt spoke for over an hour—the bullet had gone through two folds of the thick prepared remarks he kept with his glasses case in his front pocket. He even stayed to shake hands with the crowd. Later that evening, as biographer Edmund Morris recounts, Roosevelt dictated telegrams about the incident to his wife to tell her he was in “excellent shape” and to Deadwood Sherriff Seth Bullock about the kind of gun that had taken him down.

The bullet was never removed, and he went to finish – though lose – the campaign. He died seven years later.

I have told y’all that since we have Vonage we kept our northern VA number. It is forwarded to our TN phone. I have had two ‘polling’ calls this week, the second one this morning. It was from Independent Voter Research. I don’t remember who the first one was from. Questions were basically the same: had to indicate age, sex, gender, party I typically identify with. The one this morning was specifically LIKELY voter. Both calls I had to answer 1 or 2 for Obama or Romney, Kaine or Allen, Connelly or ??? (the Rep.). the one this morning also asked who I voted for in 2008 and if the elections were held today, who would I vote for. Is it awful of me that I pretend to be living in VA and answer the questions? I figure it’s a wash since living here in TN, I won’t get those calls. 🙂

    Dear Fellow-Republican,

Over the past few days, some so-called Republicans have taken it upon themselves to lob some pretty harsh words in the direction of my husband. Now, it’s one thing when Mitt gets criticized by the forty-seven per cent of Americans who are parasites sucking at capitalism’s teat. i still see a lot of people missing the point of why president obama is remaining strong in polling and likely to win easily again. many people, even among friendlies, still suggest it’s about having better “messaging” (such a nebulous term), or certain outside factors improving, or even the dreaded “rmoney is a terrible candidate!” which is a slippery slope into the “obama is so lucky” nonsense.

i’ve long said all that other stuff, sure can have some impact and be helpful or not, but the main reason president obama was always going to win no matter who the republicans put up was because O.F.A. And here’s a perfect example of why i’ve always felt that way:
    http://www.dailykos.com/story/2012/09/22/1135270/–Obama-s-Ground-Game-Will-Make-2008-Look-Like-Jurassic-Park-Here-s-Your-Ground-Game

this didn’t happen by accident. president obama had the foresight and life-long lessons to create this scenario. and there isn’t a thing the republicans and their friends who own all the mainstream media can do about, no matter how hard they try. forward!!!

Hello TOD family – I just got home from my 14th canvass trip to New Hampshire. I am tired and exhilarated at the same time. Not a single Romney voter today. Of course, there are always lots of people not home, but the ones we talked to were all Obama supporters. One Republican told me that he had not quite decided to vote for Obama yet, but that he had definitely decided NOT to vote for Romney. I asked him if he intends to vote in November and he indicated that he always votes. So then I smiled and said “Well that leaves only President Obama, doesn’t it?” He
nodded and said “I never thought I would say it, but you’re right. I will vote for Obama”. Made my day. Now I have to catch up with TOD and find out all the latest. So, I’ll feed the cats, walk the dog and then sit down for a nice long trip through the last several posts from yesterday and today. Tomorrow it’s back to phone calls and follow up – getting ready for the next trip on the 29th. I really don’t know what I’ll do with myself after November 6th. I think Chips will have to start a support group….
