hilarious. the republican convention and a recent mittbot appearance were plagued by severe weather. mr. and miss rmoney have had plane problems. president obama brings rainbows. almost seems like the rmoney’s god wants president obama to win, doesn’t it?

People on Twitter are saying there was also a rainbow when he campaigned in WI in 2008!!

  7. September 22, 2012 at 6:14 pm

This WI firefighter is on FIRE!!!! Excellent introduction … personal and plenty of relevant details that indicate that, yes indeed, President Obama has kept his word despite obstruction …

i still see a lot of people missing the point of why president obama is remaining strong in polling and likely to win easily again. many people, even among friendlies, still suggest it’s about having better “messaging” (such a nebulous term), or certain outside factors improving, or even the dreaded “rmoney is a terrible candidate!” which is a slippery slope into the “obama is so lucky” nonsense.

i’ve long said all that other stuff, sure can have some impact and be helpful or not, but the main reason president obama was always going to win no matter who the republicans put up was because O.F.A. And here’s a perfect example of why i’ve always felt that way:
    http://www.dailykos.com/story/2012/09/22/1135270/–Obama-s-Ground-Game-Will-Make-2008-Look-Like-Jurassic-Park-Here-s-Your-Ground-Game

this didn’t happen by accident. president obama had the foresight and life-long lessons to create this scenario. and there isn’t a thing the republicans and their friends who own all the mainstream media can do about, no matter how hard they try. forward!!!

You are absolutely spot-on 4morefor44! I just came from phone banking here in San Diego, CA. Today we were calling folks in Colorado. This was a small OFA office in SD, but it was highly organized. I was very impressed with the way all our phone calls were automatically logged in the central data collection. Today our specific emphasis was on making sure that people in CO who did not vote in the 2010 election were registered. We gave them information on how they can register online. At the same time we were able to collect data about those who were strongly for the president, those who were leaning, those who were still undecided, and those who were pro-Romney. The next phase will concentrate on two fronts: making sure that those who strongly support the President as well as the leaners get out and vote; and, persuading the undecideds to support the President. I am very impressed with OFA!

How did Univision treat him? I’ve missed something.

      • 72 hopefruit2
        September 22, 2012 at 8:24 pm

Did you see or hear about the back-to-back Q & A townhalls (one with Romney, the other with PBO) that Univision hosted on Thursday?

All the TODers who saw it live got the impression that the moderators were very aggressive and even hostile to PBO. They kept attacking him repeatedly with a “you broke your promise” with regard to immigration reform. He gave them a very detailed, sensible explanation as to why he didn’t accomplish immigration reform in his first term, and referred to the GOP in congress and their obstructionist behavior, and the moderators just kept going at him with this accusation.

They also questioned him about Eric Holder and Fast & Furious, a GOP witch hunt issue that should not have been part of that forum at all.

On the other hand, they softballed Romney, joked with him, allowed him to get away with lies, and let him stack the audience with his bused-in supporters who ignored forum rules, and booed at the moderators whenever questions that they didn’t like were asked.

I will refer you to this buzzfeed article which came out today, and had us all, including PBO supporters on Twitter and the liberal blogosphere up in arms about how Univision basically enabled Romney and allowed him to dictate the format and the rules of the forum to his advantage without letting the viewers know what was up. You will not leave this article with a good feeling about Romney or Univision.

I missed all this, but I thought that PBO was ahead with Hispanics?why would they treat him that way? How upsetting.

          • 74 hopefruit2
            September 22, 2012 at 8:44 pm

Remember, the forum was not organized by the Hispanic community.

It was hosted by a corporate TV network that happens to be geared toward Spanish-speaking individuals. The CEO of Univision is former CEO of AOL. He has no vested interest in the welfare of Hispanics but he caters to the RW agenda which is typical of all corporate media outlets.

The two people moderating are likely in the 1%, and have their corporate matching orders in front of them, just like the pundiots we see every day on cable TV.

So totally agree COS! I really, really love the way PBO tweaks his speech for each audience yet shares a consistent message. It adds a naturalness to the delivery that his opponent would have a heard time matching. It also shows he knows the topic about which he speaks, … intimately.
