That brings back memories for me. I was at one of the Inaugural Balls that night hoping to see the Obamas only to find out that was not one of the ten balls they would go to. That was disappointing, but after such an exciting day and jubilent night it didn’t matter.

I had won 2 tickets to the Inauguration in my OR Senator’s lottery. I had scheduled my two week annual visit to my daughter living in DC with the Inauguration date smack in the middle much earlier on my airmiles. She got us tickets for the ball as my Xmas gift and I took her to the Inauguration. It was a once in a lifetime experience of all the right things coming together at once for me.

She lives in Munich, Germany now. This time around I will be watching at home from my WARM house although I will miss the excitement of the day but not the freezing weather.

    Michelle Obama coming to Cincinnati
    09/22/12 at 1:32pm by pkostyu   |   3 Comments

Michelle Obama during her Feb. 23, 2012 visit to the National Underground Railroad Freedom Center.
COLUMBUS — First lady Michelle Obama will make a campaign stop in Cincinnati on the first day of early voting in the state.

Details of the visit on Oct. 2 have not been released by the campaign. President Barack Obama will be in the state on Wednesday with visits to Bowling Green and Kent.

The GOP ticket is also visiting Ohio. On Monday, vice presidential nominee Paul Ryan will be in Lima before coming to Cincinnati on Tuesday. There he will join Mitt Romney. Details of the visits have not been announced.

On Tuesday, Romney will go onto Dayton before moving to Westerville, Cleveland and Toledo on Wednesday.

Former Ohio Gov. Ted Strickland and Brad Woodhouse, communications director for the Democratic National Committee, will shadow Romney and Ryan, making stops in the same cities the Republicans do.

  21. September 22, 2012 at 7:45 pm

  22. September 22, 2012 at 7:46 pm

The rising indie band, The National, will be performing concerts in Cincinnati and Columbus encouraging young adults and students to vote early in support of President Barack Obama.

Voter registration events at several Ohio college campuses will also be targets of interest for The National.

Formed in Cincinnati around 13 years ago, they are now based out of Brooklyn, NY. This quintet consists of five members: Matt Berninger (vocalist), Aaron Dessner (guitar, bass, piano), Bryce Dessner (guitar), Scott Devendorf (bass), and Bryan Devendor (drums). Their most stand-out characteristic is the vocals, as Berninger sings in deep, baritone fashion that can be noted almost instantaneously by any fan of The National.

Her speech was amazing, brought tears to my eyes. If anyone can inspire people to vote she can! Reminds me of her NC speech at the college: 5 votes per precinct made the difference in 2008. Phone banked today to CO. Every contact with a supporter might make the difference. We need to sweep WH, House and Senate, then change filibuster. We can!

They are extremely unprofessional, bought and paid by their friends in the Republican party. I always felt that CNN was a little too excited about this whole event – way more than they should have been considering someone got killed. They REALLY thought that this was going to help Mitt Romney and someone must’ve promised someone something. But it didn’t quite turn out the way they anticipated, so shit is now hitting the fan and someone is going to have hell to pay.

TeaNN is nothing to respect any more. To them it’s all about ratings. This network was one to respect when Ted Turner was owner. I don’t watch it any more. They are just like Fox, I have no respect for either one.

    • 143 Nena20409
      September 22, 2012 at 8:37 pm

TeaNN with Anderson Cooper has Lost their minds. Their current head is a former Fox employee. TeaNN were trying to find some damaging thing to pin on the president to help Romney Out. They will deny it. But it is out for all to see. They didn’t even get permission from Christopher Stevens’ family. They used his personal Journal, then days later returned the Journal to them. And Anderson Cooper does a segment on Keeping Them Honest? Perhaps, Cooper should 1st practice what he speaks?

CNN was the ONLY channel that had a Teabagger, Michele Bachmann, give a rebuttal to Pres Obama’s SOTU address. They hired Glenn Beck, Stuart Barney, Lou Dobb, Eric Erickson, Dana Roesch, Will Cain, Ari Fleischer, Alex Castellanoes, etc. They frequently bring Pam Geller, a racist, bigoted woman to spout her bigotry about Muslims on their channel. CNN is totally damaging it’s brand. I think, that the Powers to be is doing that deliberately to render CNN useless. Will they wake Up in time to save themselves? Only Time Will Tell.

          • September 22, 2012 at 9:06 pm

Actually I remember in 2008 that Cooper pushed the Rev wright story hard and flogged it to death. That’s when I realized what a phony hack Anderson is.

It is important to vote every election, not just every four years. We have to know who and what is being elected in our local election, our school board. We have to know what’s going on. Because as some sit home on their butts, others are plotting to take us back, to take rights away from us we have already fought for. To pass laws we know nothing about till a 17 year old black kid is shot down.

“According to the Philadelphia Inquirer, Montgomery and Alleghany Counties used a loophole in the law that allows Colleges and Nursing homes to issue voter ID’s to anyone who resides in their counties.

It also appears that other counties are seriously considering adopting the same approach.”

A lot of people were talking about this today. It’s such a great idea and helps to show how utterly ridiculous and poorly written the hastily put together photo ID law is. This was all about defeating the president in PA and now it’s coming back to bite its creators.

          • 181 Obama Grandmama
            September 23, 2012 at 4:41 pm

I hope the creators of the ID law in PA are up for re-election and lose big time as well as those who voted for the law. I also hope they can get around the law so they do not lose votes for PBO. My hope includes that those disenfranchised will not give up but pursue getting their vote to count no matter how hard it is. PBO has to have such overwhelming support that voter suppression and fraudulent counting will not prevent him from winning. I am thinking if PBO can get past the CU ruling with all the money coming in against him, the voter suppression attempts and the campaign lies told by the GOP and upheld by the media he can prove it won’t work. We need to get these things changed.

      3. myth r-money has chosen foul r-lyin as his vicepresidential running mate; r-lyin has lied repeatedly on the record, demonstrating his unfitness to hold public office.

      1. We found out that Romney manipulated the Univision town hall forum by stacking the audience with bused-in supporters, throwing tantrums and making threats to cancel his appearance if he didn’t get his way, bullying the hosts, ignoring forum rules, etc.

      2. PBO had an out-of-this world fired up rally in Milwaukee, WI with 18K + overflow crowd

      3. FLOTUS gave another tremendously inspiring and moving speech as only she could do at the CBC dinner this evening.

      4. We found out that Anderson Cooper & friends at TeaNN, in their rush to make a story out of the events in libya to help Romney, got their hands on the slain ambassador’s diary and reported on stuff that was supposedly in it. They broke their pledge to not report on Ambassador stevens diary. Now they are in trouble with the State Dep’t.

Thank you, hf!! I just posted a link about the Univision event…what an idiot (but we knew that)

18,000!!!!! PLUS overflow? WOW! I love my President:)

I love my FLOTUS….she IS a secret weapon, and adored by all…..

TeaNN…barf. I hope the State Dept comes down HARD on them! So much for journalistic integrity! But we knew THAT, too.

What a difference a day makes! One day it’s naked nudies…the next day, it’s MItt Tantrums, 18,000 supporters, and a promise broken.
Crazy! Keep a laser focus and your eyes on the prize…..

How on earth can supporters of the President’s administration not be waging a boycott on CNN is beyond me. They are beyond disgusting!!!

Donna. I am absolutely with you! In my humble opinion, CNN is worse than FOX because it is generally viewed as a non-partisan news channel when, in reality, it is actively involved in promoting right wing Propaganda all the time. The teabag movement would be no where if it weren’t for CNN joining FOX in pushing it.

Yes, an hr-long documentary mocking PBO’s hope & change, and featuring so-called former Obama supporters who are pissed off that they didn’t get their golden unicorn and are ready to vote for Willard yesterday.

What ho TOD Peeps! Spent all day today at Obama Camp–yep that’s what it was called! 😆 It was an all day training and organizing session with several other teams here in LA. I’ve been phonebanking for awhile, but decided to sign up to be a Volunteer Coordinator to help OFA CA gear up for the humungo GOTV effort in the remaining weeks of our illustrious Prez’s campaign. They played the Story of Fired Up Ready to Go clip and I was like perfect time to play this! So many people there hadn’t seen it! One of the people I was sitting next to wanted to know how I already knew about the video which of course gave me the perfect opportunity to tell them to check out TOD if they really want to know what’s going on with PBO in real time. 45 days to go y’all. LET’S GET IT DONE! #PRESSON!
