Correction! Fire those in charge of Congress, the majority GOP party. Remember how productive the prior Congress under Nancy Pelosi was? The Dems have been fighting against the days off, to try to get jobs passed, and get anything done. When we lump both sides together watch out for the results you get. The equivalent argument resurfaces when that is done.

Thanks for catching that, OG. I forgot to add GOP! Will be more careful in future. It is good to be part of a TEAM in this work we are trying to do.

      Dear PoliticalJunkessa Boss,

You must excuse PoliticalJunkessa on Tuesday as I will be in your neck of the woods and I need one of my most ardent supporters at the meet up.

      Sincerely, PBO
PS: Don’t let me have to issue an Executive Order on your azz!

😀 😀 Great minds think alike……Cookemom, I was toying with the idea of writing her boos a letter a few minutes ago, then chickened out. I lacked the oomph you obviously have as a new presidential assistant. ps: You forgot to add the ‘per’ before PBO as we were trained to do.

Yes ma’am! I’m trying to save some of my *cough* sick/personal leave days for later on in the campaign season, as I’m counting on PBO and my girl crush Michelle coming back to this area…. Now if Joe comes on a Saturday or Sunday? I’m so there! 😆

The EO will work for Joe because Joe & PBO work really, really well together – they’re one. 😉 As for being skurred, what can I say PJ, I’m a chicken at heart, and words like ‘boss’, ‘job creators’ and ‘success’ have traditionally caused my knees to buckle. 😉

I have it on the highest authority that he is going to run for senator in Wisconsin against Ron Johnson whose term ends in 2016. That’s part of the reason he is coming to Wisconsin today to lay the groundwork – his girls are going to look at University of Wisconsin in Madison because it’s a great liberal college between two lakes and as we know from several pics of the President, he loves water.

Today was a busy day for the Romney folks in my area. I was outside with a group of scouts selling popcorn (that time of the year) and noticed that the GOP had over 35 people holding signs facing the street promoting the Republican candidate for President and for down ticket candidates. They held up signs asking folks to “Honk if they are voting for Romney” and it was very quiet. No one would honk.

Some of the volunteers walked over to customers going into the store where we were standing with the scout troop and were asking them if they would support the candidates. The first question most asked was, if the candidate was Republican or a Democrat. That is when I realized that outside of the Romney signs, none of the signs showed the party affiliation of the candidate. So when the answer was that the candidates were all Republicans, ALL the customers that they stopped and asked said no and moved on.

What was really funny is that most of the folks coming and going from the store lived in my area so I recognized die hard Republicans neighbors and even they would not commit the vote to Romney.

Some of the folks in the volunteers for Romney group walked over to where I was standing with other parents and asked the same questions, and the folks who were not listening to previous discussions asked if the candidates were Republican or Dems. When they were told Republicans, the same NO response was given. Anyway they struck up a discussion on why they felt that way and I asked what policies would they support that would make the case on why anyone would vote for the ticket.

At first they gave some talking points and when I and some of the other folks who were standing with me politely corrected the misinformation they realized that it was going to be a difficult sell to anyone in the community. One woman tried to flip the topic to what PO was doing to destroy the country and I didn’t even engage with an argument. I pretty much told her we knew where President Obama stood. We knew where to find details on his policies and we knew his record from the legislation he signed and we knew the effects of Obamacare given that some received the reimbursements over the past summer. That is when I told the woman that Romney running on the “Not Obama” strategy would not work here, we wanted specific policy positions with detail and results based on what the remaining candidates would offer that would be in our interest. Needless to say, they couldn’t really cite anything of value, they gave up.

They were nice folks though. We were pretty much cordial and they thanked us for the time we took to at least listen to their positions (because apparently everyone else either blew them off or outright ignored them). They went back to holding the “Honk if you are voting for Romney” signs and I must say that in the three and a half hours I standing with the troop outside, not one horn blew on this very busy Saturday morning

lol Not bad. I want to give some context so I will say that there is less than 2% minorities in area I live in. So the fact that almost every single person rejected Romney and the GOP today was a good thing.

I take it that the Obama team is well aware of this irregularity and will take appropriate steps to ensure that those emachines are accompanied by paper ballots.

Just got back from working at the Obama/Democratic booth at another city street fair. Started setting up at 7:00 a.m. and am now ready to collapse. Our Obama booths are always a big draw at these events because we have flags flying, red, white and blue bunting, lots of yard signs, terrific buttons, balloons, PBO photos, tons of lollipops for the kids and LOTS of volunteers. There is a whole different tone this fall than there was in the spring and summer. People are no longer angry or anxious, they’re convinced that PBO will win and virtually everyone I talked to had registered to vote. One young woman said she was daily lectured by her father not to vote for the president and so she couldn’t commit to vote for him. When I reminded her that her father wasn’t going to be in the voting booth with, her, she gave me a little smile and said, ” I know.” We’re moving into the phase where more people are thinking of volunteering and asking what they can do, so this is good movement forward. The Republicans always crack me up at these events because they manage to hide their teeny tiny Romney sign in the most obscure corner so you literally have to squint to find it. Their booth is always dominated by yard signs for their down ticket tea party candidates, one of whom–their miserable candidate for US Senate–is going to be sunk like a boulder by Bob Casey on November 6. Here’s the other cool thing. The guy who helps organize the fair is a Dem and two years ago gave us a prime spot in the middle of the event. Republicans are relegated to the very last booth booth so they look like they’re in the wilderness. Always makes me laugh.

    hijacked this from elsewhere

    Since Barack Obama entered office:

Dow up from 6,843 to 13,367 (with the advent of Bush’s failed economic policies, Dow dropped nearly 8,000 points).

Unemployment slowing, 4.4 million jobs created (8 years of Bush: earned interest rate drops to near zero, unemployment surpasses 8.9%, economy hemorrhages 760,000 jobs per month).

    Steady GDP growth.

Middleclass payroll/income tax at all-time low, generating an additional $3600 in disposable income per middleclass family.

47 million Americans now have health insurance

Government spending down 9.8% (Bush increased government spending by 38%, turning Clinton surplus into $11.6 trillion deficit – 20 year projected price tag for Bush deficit: $34 trillion).

Wall Street institutions deemed “to big to fail” once again solvent.

US border guards tripled to 24,000.

17 tax cuts equaling $671 billion for small business owners.

Detroit resurrected, saving 1 million auto industry jobs – GM regains status as world auto leader.

19,000 manufacturing plants reopened (because of Bush’s dreadful economic policies.

60,000 manufacturing plants padlocked, resulting in loss of 8.4 million jobs).

Osama eliminated, Al-Qaeda command structure decimated (Bush’s resolve to prosecute the “war on terror” faltered, allowing Al-Qaeda to reconstitute, setting the stage for Osama to escape to Pakistan).

Let me just say that Citizens United should save their money, and if I were any of those people appearing in that movie (unless they are paid RNC/GOP/Romney staffer), I would probably consider removing myself from that garbage. President Barack Obama’s one-day campaign stop in Milwaukee began Saturday as Air Force One touched down at Milwaukee’s Mitchell International Airport.

Obama came off the plane, worked a rope line of several dozen people, and then came to the Milwaukee Theatre via a motorcade. He will attend a fundraiser at the facility before giving a speech at a campaign rally later at the Summerfest grounds.
