An elderly patient asked about the election then proceeded to tell me how stupid UnfitMitt is with his foot-in-mouth disease. She didn’t like the 47% remarks and thought he was insulting to the British. Going to Obama Camp this weekend to prepare for next 45 days. Thanks Chips for this community. How about Hey!in honor of FLOTUS who never whines.

One the reasons I strongly support President Obama is the fact that he chose Joe Biden to be the Vice-President! I love Joe Biden! He is one of the most genuine and authentic politicians I know. It’s so refreshing to see two incredibly smart, caring and compassionate people (POTUS and VPOTUS) running this country. On top of that, they both have exceptional spouses who care deeply about improving the lives of Americans, and especially the lives of those who made supreme sacrifices to serve in the military.

I love our Vice President and his lovely, lovely wife, our SLOTUS, Dr. Jill Biden! The picture you posted on an earlier thread of the two of them walking hand-in-hand, I guess as they were leaving this morning for this speaking engagement was awesome! They are a beautiful couple and we are doubly blessed to have them as our VP team backing up our President and Michelle, our belle!

Under tax law, Mitt gets up to 3 years to amend his taxes. Look for Mitt to quietly go back and get those tax deductions that he bypassed this year.

Expert: Romney may have paid less in taxes over 20 years than it appears

““Let’s say you have 10 years in which you paid 13 percent in taxes, and 10 years in which you paid 27 percent,” Williams told me. “If you average those rates, you’ll get an overall rate of 20 percent. But if the 13 percent years were high income years, and the 27 percent years were low income years, then his total taxes paid as a share of total income over the 20 years would be less, perhaps significantly less, than 20 percent.””

    All Out Panic.

That’s the subject line of the email I just got a moment ago from the DCCC.

BREAKING: House Republicans throw in $3.2 million to save their majority

We just got word that Speaker Boehner is in all-out panic mode. In the last 24 hours, he’s extracted $3.2 million from his Republican Members to save their teetering House majority.

President Obama needs a Democratic majority in the House — and we can make it happen.

i’ve seen several strange “ads” in Wisconsin — noting the Dems have more money than the Repubs and to send money to the Repubs. It looks like a public service announcement, but with a “scary” dramatic voice. It makes the Repubs look desparate.

Alex Castellanos, who worked for Mitt Romney in 2008 and continues to be a Republican political consultant, tells Politico’s Maggie Haberman that he is not impressed with the optics of Romney’s tax dump move:

“At first I thought this was an April Fool’s Joke,” said Castellanos, who tweeted something to that effect at me earlier. “But it isn’t April. I can’t imagine that David Axelrod will now say, I’m glad Mitt put this issue behind him. This will drag Mitt’s taxes back into the debate. And there’s not many days left. I just can’t imagine why they would do this. There are 40 days left and you have now made more of them about Mitt’s taxes….you don’t serve a life sentence and then confess afterward. They’ve taken their beating on this (already) … I just don’t understand how a (being) ‘little pregnant’ strategy (works).”

Willard’s arrogance is appalling. He really thinks everybody is stupid and he’s so clever — that we would all be fooled by this ridiculous release of his rigged up paperwork. What did he expect would happen? That everybody would just say: “Wow. I guess that settles it. Nothing more to ask of him. Case closed.” Really, Willard??? That bubble of stupidity he is in is a bitch!

Damn, that was quick! OFA responds to Willard’s tax shenanigans:

STATEMENT: Romney Pays Lower Rate than Middle Class, Hides Wealth and Income

Chicago, IL—Obama for America released the following statement from Deputy Campaign Manager Stephanie Cutter on Mitt Romney’s 2011 tax returns:

Today’s release of Mitt Romney’s 2011 tax returns confirms what we already knew – that people like Mitt Romney pay a lower tax rate than many middle class families because of a set of complex loopholes and tax shelters only available to those at the top. Yet, Mitt Romney still wants to give multi-millionaires an additional $250,000 tax cut at the expense of middle class taxpayers who will see their taxes go up. While the tax return for the one year released today continues to mask Romney’s true wealth and income from Bain Capital, leaving the American people in the dark about critical details about his finances, it does confirm that he continues to profit from millions of dollars invested overseas. These types of investments, the use of tax loopholes, and the resort to foreign blocker corporations enabling him to reduce his U.S. tax obligations, all raise basic and still unanswered question – why does Mitt Romney not just release the full returns , instead of the bare summary he has provided of the last 20 years, so voters can make their own judgments about Mitt Romney’s finances? As Mitt Romney’s father said, candidates should release several years of returns, because one year could be a fluke. President Obama, Vice President Biden and nearly every other candidate in recent memory has met that test, but Mitt Romney continues to fail it.

    Go Stephanie!

Serious question, brought up by the fact that Mitt released “summaries”:

LOVED Dr. Jill’s intro of Our Man Joe. She and Joe obviously get such a kick from one another, no way their reaction could be faked, in stark contrast to Romneybot140 (Jack Shafer, in response to tweets about R&R release of doctor reports):

Pelosi is really pushing the message of the do-nothing-Congress. Voters need to toss out the GOP congressional moochers; must be a nice gig: “From Aug 3rd to Nov 14th the House will have been in session only 8 days.”

Pelosi: “There is no way on Earth Mitt Romney wins”

maxine waters cleared by house ethics committee:

‘ After an investigation that lasted two years, the House Ethics Committee has cleared Democratic Rep. Maxine Waters of charges that she tried to influence regulators when a bank that her husband owns stock in went looking for a federal bailout in 2008.
    ~
USA Today’s On Politics blog notes that the committee’s investigation itself was “marred by scandal. … The Waters case was headed for the equivalent of an ‘ethics trial’ in November 2010, but the public hearing was canceled when the committee discovered that evidence in the case had been mishandled by staff. The committee suspended two attorneys and hired an independent investigator to review its own handling of the Waters case.” ‘

        • September 21, 2012 at 7:51 pm

No, I’m suggesting the Republicans in Congress who were actually conducting the hearing to investigate her let her off the hook because she went on television and bashed the President a few months back…as was suggested here at that time.

The Obama camp is not falling for Willard’s BS. They want Romney to release the returns instead of providing a BS “summary” letter. I’m sure that right now as we speak they are crafting an ad asking why Willard won’t release his raw returns prior to 2010.

Tomorrow President Obama will be in Wisconsin. First a fundraiser in Milwaukee (I got an e-mail on it) at 1pm CT with Hank Aaron. Doubt any of it will be public, but there will also be a rally at 6:40 ET. C-Span will be televising it. They will also be televising Michelle Obama’s remarks that night at the Black Congressional Caucus Dinner.

Didn’t the partial tax returns of Romney earlier this year for 2011…didn’t show an income of about $20M and 2010 had $21M?

How did today’s income for 2011 is being reported as $13M? Romney money are through investments. So how did Romney’s tax returns for 2011 depreciate in value. This is 2012 and the return was to reflect 2011? The arithmetic seems suspect.

Via CBS News, an excerpt of Scott Pelley’s interview with Mitt Romney, in which he pressed him on the nervousness among Republicans about the state of the race, including worries about the impact of the 47 percent comment and the loud cries from the Peggy Noonans of the world about what he should do with his campaign:

So did Romney fudge and lowered his earnings so his so called charitable contribution can then elevate to 30%?

Romney’s so called fund raising thus far are beginning to be full of Sound and fury signifying nothing……oops….manufactured numbers. He borrowed $20M in Aug 2012. Is there anything Romney will Not lie about?
