    Hi Jeff!!

Really love the way #PBO spiked #BainMitt on China in his speech this morning as the US was announcing it had filed a trade suit against China:

Well the ‘curse’ is in full effect. ie “May you live in interesting times.”

Seriously tho, it’s a great time to be alive. Pundits and haters be damned.

Waves severely backatcha! I translate this to mean we grow more in times that are hard, as we have to apply our creative sense to solve our problems! It is a time to treasure, and for sure it is not boring!

I think it was a curse meaning ‘may there always be something rearing it’s ugly head in your path’. Of course in this case it is intentionally being brought about by a rabid extremism.

While I don’t mean to lay this as a curse on anyone, sometimes I think, ‘we are living in interesting times’, and it make me think of this old saying.

Beautiful crowds, so FIRED UP! 😆 So late getting to lunch today, I am battling a plummeting blood sugar count, so will lurk a bit while I feast on chicken cordon bleu with rice and zucchini cheese sauce. Any Dem, or Dem spokesman, who gets on teevee and repeats the rt. wing gripe, that Romney should be ahead by 10 points given the unemployment numbers, like Clarence Page did just now on Bashir, should be banned from any future appearance between now and the election. Time is too short and critical for this kind of unhelpful commentary right now.

    • 67 hopefruit2
      September 17, 2012 at 4:30 pm

I agree. Not only is it not true, but it is an indirect insult to our President, his record, his accomplishments, along with a failure to hold the obstructionist GOP in congress accountable.

      • 68 theo67
        September 17, 2012 at 6:41 pm

It also ignores the fact that Romney is not offering any viable plan to reduce the deficit (his plan increases the deficit by at least $5 Trillion) or create jobs. He has no history of creating jobs, and he’s doubling down on the failed trickle-down methodology that has only increased the gap between the rich and the poor.

President Obama, on the other hand, inherited a failing, crashing economy, rescued the country from a great depression, helped to create 4.5 million jobs, made huge investments in the future and new technologies, and kept millions from plunging into poverty.

President Obama offers a clear case for re-electing him in this time of a fragile economy, because he ALREADY took over from a time of absolute crisis and made things better. Romney has nothing to offer.

    • September 17, 2012 at 4:48 pm

Well to be fair, the Repubs were counting on the relatively high unemployment rate being their way to win the elections. Unfortunately for them, their candidate is so repugnant that an unemployment rate over 8% is just not enough to topple President Obama this time around.

What angers me is that noone is asking the Repubs what the hell they did to lower the unemployment rate. All they’ve done is say no to everything President Obama has suggested (including his job bill).

My goodness but this blog is hard to keep up with. I’m finally on vacation (okay, again) and was hoping to do some catching up but being so many days behind, I’ve come to the conclusion that there just is No catching up. I snooze, I lose.

Have barely kept up with the headlines and they’ve been fantastic. Love how Putin rebuked the neocons, how China called out Robme, how the Saudis and Syrian contradicted all the Liar said with their deeds, and amused at how the pundits are failing at their spin game.

Listening to the pundits it would seem that their livelihoods are banking on them getting the MittMeister into office. I mean are they behaving desperately or what?!

I’m heading to NY etc this week and I’ve printed out posters and pictures to leave along the way. Nowhere will be immune, including highway bathrooms. I plan to tape these to walls and leave them everywhere I go.

Keep up the good fight y’all.

This is a VERY INSIGHTFUL memo, and it underscores our need to ensure we take BACK the HOUSE and KEEP THE SENATE!!!

It’s not enough for President Obama to be re-elected. Although it’s my primary goal, I also want to ensure we set up the President for success!! That means taking back the HOUSE!!!

            September 17, 2012 at 4:57 pm

Nailed it Chips. That is the underlying point that Kornacki has been trying to hammer. That people need to get their asses out and vote. Romney and his ilk are not above stealing the election. Voter turn-out is very crucial.

            • September 17, 2012 at 5:07 pm

Hiya UT, I’m as guilty as anyone – hey, probably more guilty – about getting excited over good polls, Romney disasters, etc, but we all know the turnout could be the most dangerous enemy in November if people don’t getting up off their asses, as you said. Add to that worry the voter suppression stuff going on, well, there’s a long way to go, much as I’d adore to think PBO will do it comfortably. As others have said, I’ll never, ever, ever trust these bastards, they’re capable of anything.

Amen Chips! Sometimes I feel that lost in all the opinions and polls is the simple fact that the only thing that really matters is how many of us get out and actually vote. I’ll do my part to get as many out there but until those numbers roll in on election night anything is possible.

Mitt Romney is a disgusting pig.

During a private fundraiser earlier this year, Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney told a small group of wealthy contributors what he truly thinks of all the voters who support President Barack Obama. He dismissed these Americans as freeloaders who pay no taxes, who don’t assume responsibility for their lives, and who think government should take care of them. Fielding a question from a donor about how he could triumph in November, Romney replied:

There are 47 percent of the people who will vote for the president no matter what. All right, there are 47 percent who are with him, who are dependent upon government, who believe that they are victims, who believe the government has a responsibility to care for them, who believe that they are entitled to health care, to food, to housing, to you-name-it. That that’s an entitlement. And the government should give it to them. And they will vote for this president no matter what…These are people who pay no income tax.
Romney went on: “[M]y job is is not to worry about those people. I’ll never convince them they should take personal responsibility and care for their lives.”

Mother Jones has the videos on their website.

Mr. Romney I depend on my ability to get up and work everyday. We Obama supporters in my family take care of ourselves but it is a comfort to know that should we need the assistance of our government that it would be there to help us.

Now Romney, you can Kiss my Grits!!!

His own dad was on welfare as a youth. Romney is just an arrogant, entitled jerk who believes that his privilege signals that he’s better than other people. He’s still the bully holding people down and shaving their hair. I’d rather, any day of the week, help to support others to have basic food and shelter than to live like Mitt, watching people working in slave conditions to make me rich. He is of extremely low character and has virtually no empathy for others.

My beloved brother died December 5, 2000. We got into an argument the last time we talked because he said that Dubya would HAVE to govern from the middle — after all, he’d lost the popular vote. I knew better.

Let’s be clear on one thing: this ‘severely’ conservative Romney is the REAL Romney because it represents greed and a disdain for the “other” and believes that anyone who doesn’t ‘succeed’ is ‘deficient’ in the eyes of God. THAT’s the real Romney. It was the ‘moderate’ Romney that was the complete fake.

Why did he end up with 31% approval in MA? Because, except for health care, he governed like the RWNJ that he truly is.

I just tweeted him about being a tool. He was doing his best to defend Willard at PBO’s expense. Does he think we have been living under a rock? We know how PBO will govern. The nation’s largest labor organization is backing President Obama’s complain on Chinese trade.

“Today, President Obama took decisive action against the Chinese government’s unfair trade actions to ensure that American workers can compete fairly – and win good jobs in the global economy. U.S. workers and businesses suffer when countries violate global trade rules. Unfair and imbalanced trade contributes to slow job growth and a weak economic recovery,” AFL-CIO president Richard Trumka said in a statement.

wow Romney truly hates half this country.. we’re nothing more than throw aways if we voted for President Obama. Which makes clear that he never had any intention of governing America.. merely of representing the the tiny minority he ‘connects’ with.. the uber wealthy white corporate owners. That’s what I thought it was all along. How would Secret Service let someone just casually stand to the side of the President and take a leak? That didn’t even make sense. All by himself over there? Don’t they know that the Secret Service are in the bushes and on the roofs, watching for anything strange? And the thing went viral today – among some of the media, too. I couldn’t’ even be bothered to answer. it was a clear demonstration of how so many in the media never grew up past high school.
