Good Morning TOD family and congrats on 1st Kathryn.
Just an FYI…I register voters in Florida…jumping though hoops to do it. Just wanted to say that I had 2 people come up to me yesterday after registering their friends and asked if I could register them too. This will be done on Saturday.
This is the easiest volunteer job I have ever done. They come to me…I don’t have to go to them.

Morning everybody. Chipsticks you are the best x 13 million. Life is good. Arrests have been made in Libya. The press and editorial pages across the country have condemned the dangerous sideshow known as Mitt Romney and everywhere you look there’s a new poll letting us know that the President holds a significant lead and this is not a neck-and-neck horse race at all.

Mitt has been grasping at the brass ring of the Presidency since 2007. Like Gollum in the Lord of the Rings, he sees his precious slipping away and he’s only going to get uglier, more arrogant, more desperate and more vicious as we get closer to Election Day. We just need to stay strong, hold on to the Senate and keep our hopes up for the House.

We’ve got a President to re-elect and a nation and world to re-build and move forward.

President Obama is an honest man, this sociopath is a pathological liar…..

His whole campaign is based on lies…..the nerves of that weirdo…

Romney added, “I think the challenge that I’ll have in the debate is that the president tends to, how shall I say it, to say things that aren’t true. And in attacking his opponents. I’ve looked at prior debates. And in that kind of case, it’s difficult to say, well, am I going to spend my time correcting things that aren’t quite accurate? Or am I going to spend my time talking about the things I want to talk about?”

      • 28 Pamela
        September 14, 2012 at 9:26 am

Now don’t you worry, Myth, your debate time will be well spent demonstrating to the entire country and the WORLD what a flaming a**hole you truly are, not knowing which end your brain is located…. That is what you might consider. (Unless you come down with the sniffles, and your wife decides you are a little too tired to debate the PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES, Barack Hussein Obama!)

      September 14, 2012 at 9:56 am

It’s Rob Portman who is practising with Mitt – the former probably can’t help lying (it’s what the GOP folks do) – Mitt just has trouble realizing the President won’t say exactly what Portman is saying.

I saw an article title on Yahoo News about Romney warning people PBO would be lying about him in the debates when I logged on this morning but came right here instead of checking it out. I assume he is worrying about all the lies he has told now and warning people not to believe Obama in the debates.

  18. September 14, 2012 at 9:06 am

OMG! What a Weael! OMG! Can you believe Robney said this about the upcoming debates?-

GM everyone! Following closely situation in ME .. Lots of countries have protests against our embassies. I pray Romney shut his piehole until cool heads prevail.
Looks like some arrests have been made in Libya (fast action!), Libyan people themselves are appalled by what happened and Morsi in Egypt finally! went on state Tv and told the people to calm down.
Honestly, maybe because am strong in my faith that stupid trolling wouldn’t affect me, I am just perplexed by the whole thing. An effin movie?? Really??

    • 41 hopefruit2
      September 14, 2012 at 9:12 am

Keep in mind the media is exaggerating the “unrest” in ME to gin up ratings, distract voters in order to help Romney and Republicans. So I’m taking a page from my President’s book. It’s business as usual. They are focused because they have an election to win. If Romney wins, things in the ME will be far worse than anyone of us could have ever imagined.

      • 42 Melissa
        September 14, 2012 at 9:26 am

I wish they were exaggerating Hopefruit! Am looking at BBC and there are big crowds in Egypt, Yemen, Oman, Sudan etc..The good thing is security has been beefed up and they can’t get too close to the compounds. But depending on how long these protests last, it could turn into a bit of a hot mess. In Sudan, they are even turning against other embassies, mainly British and German. Anyway, lets hope they get it out of their system. But believe me, id rather no one else but Pres Obama at the helms in these dangerous times. I know whatever he decides, would be the best option forward.

      • September 14, 2012 at 9:36 am

I think the situation is truly volatile. A death has been reported in Lebanon. Embassy in Amsterdam under close watch. State Dept put out a watch in Tunisia. A lot will depend on the next couple of days.

Condolences from Egypt in the nyt –

“The breach of the United States Embassy premises by Egyptian protesters is illegal under international law. The failure of the protecting police force has to be investigated. “

Benen pretty much sums it up…http://maddowblog.msnbc.com/_news/2012/09/14/13860795-the-thin-line-between-bravado-and-delusion?lite

I can imagine how insular it can become. If a campaign team isn’t careful, epistemic closure can take over — a candidate thinks he or she is great, aides only look at polls and news stories that reinforce their preferred beliefs, and those who question the agreed-upon narratives are held suspect.

But if Mitt Romney’s campaign actually believes its own rhetoric about foreign policy, the Republican and his aides aren’t just embracing bravado; they’re also slipping into delusions.

I’m thinking that medical workup is a GREAT IDEA

A lot of praise has gone to Chips for creating this wonderful site, and deservedly so. She deserves our thanks for putting together a refuge and a place to come for truth and has had to put up with a ton of crap from both the right and “left” (Yes, most of them may call themselves that but they aren’t really).
I would like to give thanks to somebody else though and I hope she will see it as I know she comes around and occassionally will comment. I am here primarily due to BWD. I had followed her posts at DK and was, like many, very disturbed by the way she was treated there. She took the plunge and started her own place, The Only Adult in the Room, which I visited on a regular basis. I first got to know many of you there and it was through her that I leardned about TOD. When she stopped posting on a regular basis I came over here and haven’t looked back.
So I want to thank BWD for giving me her space originally to visit, learn and be cheered up and for being the gate to TOD for me.

DITTO. I think many of us (myself included) could write what you just posted verbatim. I’m also here primarily because of BWD, I followed her on Old Orange, then became a regular poster on her blog TOAITR, and then came here. She provided a vital refuge for PBO supporters when the Obama-bashing from the left, right and center was at it’s peak. I will never, ever forget that. Thanks BWD!!!

Well said Japa21. Agree and would like to associate with your comments because that transition was mine as well .

Many thanks to BWD, Chips and all who post here.

Congrats on the big 13 Ms Chips -no one deserves it more.

I’m sure that we’ll be here for as long as you are.

    • September 14, 2012 at 12:36 pm

BWD led me here also. I tried to stay loyal to OFA but I was just fed up with the trolls and the lack of moderators. I get so much information here to share with my friends, family and people who were total strangers.
When I go out people thank me for posting the news and I thank all of you for providing the truth to so many.

Watching that again, in the midst of all the warm feelings you know what dawned on me? I have never seen Mitt holding a baby that is not of the same colour/race as he. Yeah, I know he never holds them comfortably but as I think about it, I can only remember Mitt with white (unhappy) babies. Now, it may well be that parents of other races are smart enough not to let their children get anywhere near the robot, but it still seems odd. Just sharing my rambling thought.

Awesome. The other wonderful thing about the NBC/WSJ/Marist poll is that the Marist pollster said this morning that not only does it look like 04, it’s beginning to look more like 08 in that there is no enthusiasm gap among Democrats. He said that Democrats are beyond excited to vote and Democrats in the swing states of OH, VA and FL are even more excited and this helps Pres. Obama immensely. He said that these poll numbers are strong for Pres. Obama and well past the margin of error. Chuck Todd had a huge sad listening to the Marist pollster guy. He kept trying to interrupt but the pollster guy stayed strong and kept reiterating that this is good news for Pres. Obama and these are even better numbers than 08. It was hilarious to watch.
