Hello from France where people get it: President Obama is the one. Hollande has proposed top rate of 75%: makes the democratic proposal seem modest.

This is Keith Olbermann’s response to the possibility of Joe Scarborough running for Prez in 2016.

I will worry about 2016 later, my only concern is 2012. To see President Obama re-elected.

      • September 11, 2012 at 7:42 pm

It’s like the pundits have already written this election off.

Meta, I think some of the pundits are trying to lure us into complacency so that we will not turn out in as greater numbers as we did in 2008! Although I am positively convinced that President Obama will be re-elected, I am not going to re-lax until Nov.6, 2012, after all the votes are counted and the President is declared the winner. While I understand the value of opinion polls, in the end it’s the actual votes that matter. Media pundits are fair weather friends. I refuse to take the seriously.

According to Mediabistro.com…..Politico or some outfit contacted Scarborough and he said that the interview was from 2010 and the story is outdated and wrong.

I suppose the $6M that he now gets annually is Not going to get him off the MSNBC. Sorry Jovie and the rest, I am sad again. I was so pumped earlier, but now Not so much.

Here’s what the “paid pundits” are missing with their so-called “analysis” of this election. To them it’s a game, they get paid whether they’re whack-a-doodle or not.

Pundits are missing the fact that sane, reasonable people are *terrified* of a Romney presidency (similar to those 4 years ago at the thought of Palin as VP, but Palin was worse because the country was in an economic tailspin at the time).

    TPM Editor’s Blog
    A View from Michigan
“Romney is looking like a true disaster, a worse economy, a bigger risk of another war, less regulation of banks, more pollution, and more poor people, and more people homeless and starving from cutbacks in social programs. I think it would mean that the war on Obama will be over and the Republicans will have to compromise. After all, they couldn’t deny him a second term anymore. Somehow, the Republican convention showed how empty the promises of the GOP are. Maybe it was Paul Ryan’s speech, the empty chair, the showcasing of diversity, the absence of gay rights, the lack of coherence.”

    http://talkingpointsmemo.com/archives/2012/09/a_view_from_michigan.php?ref=fpblg

I’ve yet to see/hear a pundit say that the GOP convention was basically Obama-bashing sarcasm, and nothing more. Reasonable people don’t vote for sarcasm only (think Palin again); my MSM Twitter feed overflows with *sarcasm,* which quickly gets old .

  11. September 11, 2012 at 7:07 pm

For those with short memories, the Budget Control Act of 2011 is law … not a resolution or any other flimflam ‘deal’ ….

  12. September 11, 2012 at 7:07 pm

I do childcare for two really sweet boys who know I love Obama. Yesterday they told me that “we’re Republicans, but our dad says Obama is going to win.” Ok, I thought, at least the dad knows that. Today, I was careful to say that I am not trying to push Obama on them and they said, “my parents are voting for Obama.” And flabbergasted I asked what changed their minds and the boys said, “the convention.” Hearts and minds are changing, at least in the case of this this family who I know voted for McCain the last time around.

Awesome story edwina3. Thanks for sharing. Stories like these give us more hope. People are waking up!

    • September 11, 2012 at 7:20 pm

I really, really get the feeling that the conventions were a game changers. In Tampa people got a very visceral view of ugliness and hatred. In Charlotte, people were treated to an equally visceral display of unity, joy, and hope.

The 27% that would vote for Genghis Khan are beyond reaching, at least for another generation. But most people, basically, want to live good lives, and will vote for those who they see as providing that. They want a country that works. And they want to feel good — all that “hopey changey” stuff. All that the GOP offers is hate and anger. Obama and the Dems offer a reason to believe in the country and ourselves that doesn’t involve bombing other countries to kingdom come or giving the rich tax breaks and hoping that they’ll give us some crumbs.

Agree – and the Romney-Ryan machine has only continued the lies, hate, darkness, pessimism. To imply that President Obama, who has always told people not to question the patriotism of another person, doesn’t have God in his heart? That was too low. People see.

        • September 11, 2012 at 7:49 pm

Agree, theo. When #BirtherMitt pulled that ‘god in his heart’ stunt yesterday he left the field. The big remaining challenge for all of us is to #OutPerform1936 and cleanse as much of the John Birch Party from elected offices throughout the Nation.

Yes he did, Bob. He left the field, crossed the final moral line and “revealed”, as Michelle Obama said, what he is–a vile, soulless, incomplete man who has no business running for the presidency or any other office.

For the 1st time in 3.7 yrs almost, pres Obama and the Dems were seen by Millions without She/he said. That indeed made a difference. Then with The social media and blogs, people are hearing our side without the filter.

So Am I…….thank you tho67 for the heads- up on the hotel reservations way back when………I check them often….very often.

My two sisters and niece will be joining me. Since the Convention I had offers to sleep on the floor, under the bed, whatever.
My first response is,”Are you registered”? Next question: Are you committed to vote for PBO? Final response : Sign up to volunteer. Donate what you can. Then, I will get back to you in November.
I am very serious. I should ask, do you vote in the Primary? If, No….then why not?

I could not believe last week in(PA) while canvassing, we signed up 100 registrations….happy, yes….but two months to go and now!
Granted some were change of address, young peoples voting for the first time. But come on…..I know the Covention helped to bring some people out. One Reublican who is voting for PBO, also. She acted very undercover, but her secret was safe with me. Just vote!

What warmed my heart most of all were the Seniors wanting information to check their status(made me cry). They even encouraged and thank us for being there. All their lives they worked hard to raise their children, help with their grandchildren, and you have to worry about your right to vote!

This is pure evil, no other words can describe this. Pure calculated, scheming, evilness in the highest form.
The Scripture warns us that the evil one, “Comes to steal, kill and destroy.”
This has been planned for decades.

        WAKE UP EVERYBODY!

You’ve said a mouthful here, LDS. We’ll see you in DC in January! I’m booking my flight on November 7. For anyone who hasn’t booked their hotel – do it now! We booked several months ago, and they were already nearly sold out.

You are absolutely right about making sure everyone is registered and then that they actually vote. Even if you can’t get to an OFA office – tell everyone you know and everyone you meet. That easy.

I laughed because the first thing it made me think of was Cedric the Entertainers classic “We Wish A Mutha F#cka Would” routine. Puleeze!!

That is an excellent video. From my perspective 6 Nov 2012 is way more important than any election in my 65 years because, though we suspected it as far back as 1994, it is now grossly obvious that the Party of Lincoln & Eisenhower is dead. We confront a plutocratic John Birch Party of boundless evil. Thus …

What a wonderful video featuring my hometown and my President! We have some real problems here in Charlotte, and more in North Carolina (where I learned last night that over half of the Republicans here either think Mitt Romney had more to do than Obama with killing Bin Laden, or they aren’t sure who should get more credit, sigh…) but I was really proud of our city last week. It was a huge thrill to have the DNC here and we are FIRED UP about the rest of the campaign!

    • September 11, 2012 at 7:55 pm

How come the DNC logo is similar to PBO’s? It is beautiful. No logo will ever be as iconic as PBO’s in my lifetime. Does anyone remember the video of how PBO’s logo came into being?

    • 57 anniebella
      September 11, 2012 at 7:57 pm

wes207, think of it like this, these people know dam well Mitt Romney had nothing to do with the killing of bin Laden. It’s just that they dislike President Obama so much, that they don’t want to give him credit for anything. Of course there are some dumb idiots Republicans out there, but most of these people know better. What common sense they have is overshadow by their hate. That’s the bottom line.

True American Hero: President Obama (although he is too humble and modest to see it that way)
True American Hero: Vice President Biden (he, too, is humble)
True American Heroine: First Lady Michelle Obama
True American Heroine: Second Lady Jill Biden
