I am so happy that the President is our President. I dint even know if that makes sense, but he Is so awesome.
Wow!
Gotta go wipe my tears off my Cheek…
I don’t care if I hear another sentence uttered by him for the rest of my life. I wish he would just go gab in a coffee shop somewhere with other deep thought pretenders and leave us all alone.
My husband listening to pundits for the first time , asked me if Chris Hayes is a college kid he did not understand what he was talking about. lol! He loves Rev Al telling it like it is.
Don’t mind them Jovie! Many of the media pundits are suffering from envy. Chris Hayes knows fully well that President Obama is way beyond his league, but Hayes tries to appear important by denigrating him.
Lost on the last thread. Just want to know how everyone that wanted to get in the stadium to see the President. 65,000 was mentioned yesterday. Anyone know.
And I love you for loving our President! It’s so gratifying to know that people from other countries love and appreciate this special human being we elected President. Many of us who love and support President Obama are determined to do all we can to re-elect him.
Oh what a night, what a convention, what a speech! Its 04.20am here in the UK and I am an emotional wreck. Well done, Chips. Thanks a million for your hard work. God Bless you and your family
Our achievements speak for themselves. What we have to keep track of are our failures, discouragements and doubts. We tend to forget the past difficulties, the many false starts, and the painful groping. We see our past achievements as the end results of a clean forward thrust, and our present difficulties as signs of decline and decay.
Eric Hoffer (1902 – 1983)
I have to believe there are people in Utah who care about their futures, their families, their health, their kids. They’d vote for President Obama, too.
I’m so filled with pride right now. So proud of our wonderful president. He seemed to draw so much energy from speaking to the nation tonight I could have sworn that he was getting younger by the minute. Just saying…
whew. just trying to catch my breath from these glorious last three days. i left this a couple posts back, but wanted to leave it again after seeing president barack obama (!!) speak:
“it’s really hitting me that this entire convention is a healing salve on the wounds that the republicans and the billionaire owners of all the media have been purposely cutting into the american body politic for 30 years and more.
the gabby giffords pledge was the perfect embodiment of that, where that man filled with anti-government hate shot her and killed those people with his media programmed rage, and there she is tonight basically healing us all from the horror and honoring those poor victims. it explains why every other speaker turns me into a blubbering mess. this is a national purge of the republican poison. forward, america and the world with democrats and president obama!!”
as bobfr says, it’s now up to us to end the american civil war once and for all, 150 years later. we have the leadership in place to get it done, and all we have to do is win back the house and get a bigger majority in the senate. forward to your nearest ofa office!!!
Lord have mercy I am speechless and grateful for Barack Obama
I have been praying before and during the Convention so that everything and everyone and i so happy and grateful once again that everything has gone alright
I am thankful for the speakers and especially Deval Patrick,First Lady Michelle Obama,Bill Clinton and especially President Clinton
thank you Chips for this site
happy to share this with everyone on this site
God Bless, protect, guide the President,First Lady Michelle Obama,Joe Biden and may God take the reigns of the Obama campaign
Fred, (((((((((((( Lots and lots of sweet hugs to you and Mom))))))))))))))) Keeping both of you in my thoughts and prayers. Be kind to your gentle spirit and allow it to receive all of the beautiful gifts of our spirits of love coming your way. HZ
Those damn billionaires should stop wasting their money trying to take down the President and put it to work hiring some people. Act like Citizens and do what’s right for the country!
What a night!!! Still shaking, crying and smiling at the same time. I’ve never known any leader in all my life who made you feel he is us. And I mean truly us–a part of all of us, a member of the family, someone you are blessed to know. He made every other speaker this week, no matter how good or how eloquent (except for Michelle), seem minor league. And someone thought he could not top Clinton? Hah! This is the man!!
YES IT WAS…SOOOO WONDERFUL…SO WELL DONE….MY HEART IS SO FULL …THE TEARS JUST WON’T STOP….NOW WE MUST CONTINUE THE WORK NECESSARY TO RE-ELECT PRESIDENT BARACK OBAMA!
FIRED UP……READY TO GOOOOO!
Oh yes indeed. Last night some folks tweeted: Clinton the greatest orator of our time… I ignored thinking – oh foolish one, you ain’t heard nothing yet.. stay tuned for THE greatest one to come.
Clinton is a great speaker and his speech was a real barnburner. PBO’s style is different. When Clinton finished he had tears in his eyes. When the President finished, the entire crowd had tears in their eyes.
Exactly my sentiments, Sherijr! People keep underestimating President Obama but they always end up eating their words. Real attentive and honest people know that in President Obama we have a man who has mastered the art of oration.
THIS IS WHAT AN UNDENIABLY COMPASSIONATE PRESIDENT LOOKS LIKE…ONE WHO SPEAKS FROM THE HEART…ONE WHO IS NOT SHALLOW OR MERELY INTERESTED IN EXTERIOR IMPRESSIONS…NONE OF THEM ARE FALSE. MORE IMPORTANTLY…HE IS A PEACEMAKER IN ALL ISSUES…ALWAYS STANDING WITH COURAGE, ALWAYS EXHIBITING ‘GRACE’ EVEN WHEN STANDING WITH THOSE HE KNOWS ARE HIS ENEMIES. THIS IS THE MAN WHO MUST LEAD THIS NATION THAT IS SO CHALLENGED WITH GREED AND SELF CONSUMPTION. THERE IS NOT A DAY THAT HE HAS NOT SOUGHT BIPARTISAN INPUT…NOT A DAY THAT HE EVER SOUGHT SELF GLORY…ALWAYS REMAINING HUMBLE. I HAVE NEVER STOPPED PRAYING FOR BARACK OBAMA…THE PRESIDENT OR BARACK OBAMA THE MAN. I PRAY HE WINS THIS ELECTION BECAUSE IF HE DOESN’T…AMERICA’S FUTURE WILL BE IN DOUBT. AND MOST OF ALL…I PRAY THAT ALL DEMOCRATS STAND WITHOUT QUESTION FOR THIS PRESIDENT. IN THE PAST 4 YEARS HE HAS BEEN OUT THERE WITHOUT THE SUPPORT HE HAS NEEDED. HE IS NEVER ALONE…GOD IS WITH HIM! MY PRAYERS GO WITH THE PRESIDENT AND HIS FAMILY. BEING PRESIDENT IS NOT A PERK…IT’S COMPLETE SACRIFICE! MAY GOD DEEPLY BLESS YOU PRESIDENT OBAMA…AS WE MOVE FORWARD!
May God continue to abundantly bless, protect, guide, guard, defend, instruct and prosper our spectacular President and Vice President and their loved ones…
Another beauty SUE. I have been thinking of your earlier post about the man that helped Jesus carry his cross…it stayed with me all day…that vision of a black man helping Jesus carry his cross.
It always touches and amazes me when PBO and MO shut out thousands of people as they interact with each other. They are looking only at each other, hearing only each other, closed in their own world for those seconds. I love now she always does that loving wife thing of brushing off his clothes, no matter where they are.
This has been the most joyous convention that I have ever seen. We know that we have something special and it affects us all.
I have a feeling that the brushing off his clothes thing is a nervous gesture. She seems to do it when she’s nervous for him. They all looked so relieved after his speech was over! This was a big (and successful) week. Game on!
Sometimes I feel like Al Giordano! I think our young and wise President (I call him young because he is 16 years younger than me) needs more time to rebuild this country from the devastation he inherited.
My God, he asked “Me” for my vote!
How humble is that……”Me” All that he has been through, all the late nights he has stayed up, all the sacrifices he and his family have made.
He simply……asked.
He needs us and we sure need him.
Thank you God for this wonderful soul. You must really love us. That speech touched e options that I did not know I had.
Sweet sleep everyone.
Well Ms. Chipsticks, thanks to you, I finally was able to listen to this absolutely incredible, magnificent speech by our President. Thank you, thank you, for providing us this place that saves us from having to suffer through the stupidity of media pundits. You are an amazing person Chipsticks! The President may not be aware of TOD, though I hope he, or his team, is. But you are absolutely playing a major role in inspiring us to work hard to re-elect this special man. Your coverage of the convention has been absolutely the best!
I have NEVER EVER heard a crowd roar as loud as they did tonight for President Obama. He was the BEST of an amazing 3 nights of giants spreading the truth.. and yet he still blew us away. Greatness thy name is Barack Obama ~
First of all, Chips, thank you for the incredible work you do for all of us. You should be in the White House working side by side with the President. You mean the world to me and all of us. Thank you, dear, dear, Chips.
ANd TOD, YOU are the best family I have ever been a part of (besides my own) that has made my life so much more bearable during these turbulent years. All of you are wonderful. And I am so glad you are back, NOSPIN AND SUE DUVALL SMITH. I have missed you both so much.
As for our president, would someone please tell me Who is THIS MAN? He is amazing beyond my ability to comprehend.
In the church, we would say he has an anointing. That’s how it feels. I thank God everyday that I have lived to see this time.
@eveingeorgia: Anointing is so right, fresh anointing. It is all over him.
What a special wonderful gift. I hear peole all the time saying.”He just gets it.”
That is a true gift from God to be able to touch people in large and small crowds. People were actually in tears and could not or did not move after the spech There is a connection that comes with that gift that all the money in the world cannot buy.
We must continue to pray for him and his family. The tests and trials will surely come after delivering a speech that powerful and effective.
Quoting Scritpture and Abraham Lincoln in the context that he did was truly remarkable.
Yes, amen, indeed! He’s is so covered. There is a picture of him being prayed for back during his first campaign that stays in my mind, It was a group of men and possibly one woman and he was standing in the middle and they laid hands on him. He was in the center receiving those prayers. God definitely has him protected. However we still must pray.
Vitaminlover, the woman was Bishop Vashti McKenzie who opened the convention on the first day, the Invocation. A very, very powerful woman of God. I have had the pleasure to hear her speak and attend classes at Women Spiritual Retreats in Fort Washington, Maryland.
Truly, an awesome picture in so many ways.
Wow, what a night! From tears to cheers and back again. I sincerely love PBO and Joe and their families. Too bad we have term limits! I can’t imagine anyone else ever being President! All the good speeches – compared to the GOP – it’s astounding. Damn, even the gov of Montana had me going!
The debates will be priceless! Chips – thanks for having this site – you have my unending appreciation! Oh, too cool, my husband who of course is on the “right” side now wants to volunteer at our local Dem headquarters. I did in 2004, but my health is so crappy that I haven’t been able to.
Hugs to all and sweet dreams!
Oh, side note – I wonder why MSNBC doesn’t use Martin Bashir in these election/debate night stuff. I think he’s great – you always know where he stands. He can deliver a knock out line in the most respectful way. Better tweet MSNBC!
Please give him a break! Eight years as President is an enormous toll. After eight years he can do as he pleases. Write. Travel. He won’t leave us. I just want him to get a bit of rest. (His daily schedule makes me tired just reading it.)
I am with you veryslowwriter…these people, all of them at the White House and in President Obama’s administration, have got to be tried and surely they most certainly will be after the next four years.
Thank you Joe Biden and President Obama….what an inspirational convention. Thank you for giving the people the credit and for giving us hope and faith for our future. God bless.
For the past three nights, the Democratic Convention was brought directly into my home here in Montserrat, thousands of miles away from North Carolins by this amazing medium, theobamadiary. I have listened to great and insightful speeches one after the other, and my knowledge of the USA has expanded significantly. I am indeed extremely grateful to Chips and the TOD family for this inclusive site fortified with awesome photos, videos and commentaries. Sincerest thanks to you all.
My prayer is that all of you will be truly blessed and fired up to canvass for the next president of the USA, the incumbent, Barack Obama. I believe he is currently the greatest orator and hardest working leader in the world. I am predicting that he will win 46 states on November 06.
Eve, I’m another one who thanks God every day that I have lived to see this time…..I’m just past my Biblical three score and ten, and so thankful to be here. I am amazed by him every day. I LOVE it that the Bidens and the Obamas as couples obviously love and respect each other. They are refreshing in their freedom to express that love.
CHIPS ‘ANGELICA’ CHICA, THANK YOU FROM THE BOTTOM OF MY HEART!! This has been my best convention evah!
You have done far more than expected, at speeds swifter than Usain B, bringing the convention to us. BLESSINGS! If you ever need a baby catsitter, I’d try to fill in as long as it’s not during the Inauguration period [and you know I’ve never had anything to do with cats].
Love!!
ps: Wonder where Dudette actually watched from
ps2: Where is GGail? It has just occurred to me that I haven’t seen her in a while and she would have loved this entire time together.
TODers, this is it. This is PBO at his very best, in his driver’s seat, asking us to join him on the next leg of our journey. WE must support him in every way we can. He is the man of the hour!! The man of our lifetimes!!
I don’t give a damn and care zilch, about this negative spin by these effing pundits. Our Potus, VPotus and the entire dems did fabulous. No one is gonna rain on OUR Parade. TeaNN, ezra klein, screw you.
Yup – I like that he takes this all very seriously. He didn’t come there to perform – he went there to begin the hard fight to win a second term. He knows that there are many lives relying on him.
more from al giordano:
“No US citizen has fought harder against the US government policy of imposing a drug prohibition on Mexico, with more risk and actual harm to himself, than I. I dare you to suggest a single other person who comes close. And I will keep fighting tooth and nail to change that policy. And I (WE) will win. But tonight, listening to my fellow member of the Punk generation, I felt a great wave of pride for the work I did five and four years ago to get him elected, and I saw, again, our common influence as kids listening to Martin Luther King, Jr. And against those roustabout linebacking wound-up mechanical clones of the dead-in-the-water Romney administration, brother, I, and millions more, have got your back… Thank you for performing the exorcism on my homeland…”
i suggest “friending” him on facebook. it seems to be where he’s doing most of his u/s political writing these days. he’s great!!
Oh what a night! I’m so proud to be an American right now, my heart is bursting with pride and joy. And all those many people from different walks of life – a true American tapestry.
What a President we have. What a First Lady we have. And what a First Family we have. I am so proud from the bottom of my heart, I am so proud of our lovely First Family.
it’s about the house and senate now, everyone. we must elect elizabeth warren and tammy baldwin and all the other democrats. we must!! imagine what president obama could do with a congress he can work with. we must!!!
Off to bed for me. 6am will be here before I know it. Will have to spend the weekend reliving this event.
I’m so grateful to you ChipsChica for how wonderfully organized you were in posting this event. I really liked the time table posts. It will make it very easy to replay my favs and hear ones I missed.
I must say that moocher that ruffled your feathers? You left for one day and came back firing on all cylinders. I think you’ve found your elixir. You’re sure you’re just one person? Fantastic convention.
@LunarSea: We need send that fool a thank- you card!
Our warrior Ms. Chips is steadfast at her post. Standing tall, proud, unwavering, undaunted, taking no hostages.
Sleep well, Ms. Chips, sleep well. Job well done!
I think I posted my reaction to our President’s speech on the previous post … but in essence I am just awed; I cried for at least the last half or more of the speech; tears of joy and thankfulness. Thank you Lord and thank people of the United States who elected him for giving us this President … this leader. We are so blessed. I thought his speech was one of the best I have heard from him … it moved me.
This quote kind of silenced me for most of the speech. Just the imagery made me sad and angry. I really can’t articulate but this speech was very serious to me.
Obama's beautiful nod to Lincoln: "I have been driven to my knees many times by the overwhelming conviction that I had no place else to go."
These words and the image it conjured left me speechless. It reminded me that we as a country place such huge burdens on one person. We place our hopes, our dreams, our anger, our future, our aspirations, our frustrations etc. on one person. One man shoulders this overwhelming burden. While I am grateful that we chose this man Barack Obama, to lead us forward I also want to fight for him and rally around him so that he knows that he is not alone. He is never alone. There are millions of us all around the world willing to lift him up and in whatever way help him shoulder this burden.
You know, after reading your post, I got to thinking about this, realizing that this also stopped me in my tracks. It reveals to me how hard it has been at times for PBOunderneath that cool calm exterior. Made me love and appreciate him more than ever.
I am crying so hard. LHM I had to DVR the convention because I had to work tonight. When I think this President can’t make me cry harder, he does it again lol.
Just got back from the watch party and I can’t tell you what an absolutely other-worldly experience it was! What energy, what enthusiasm, what dedication! My President understands. He understands the plight of the poor, the sick, the needy. His compassion is boundless. My face is still wet from all the happy tears.
You know, the current generation in America has never know the desperation and adversity that the generation of the great depression saw. What they did with that adversity, how they came out stronger, not by being selfish and only looking out for themselves, but by lending a helping hand and seeing others succeed as well. That is exactly the choice we have now. That is the starkest difference between the Democratic President and the Democratic platform and that of the GOP. We made it happen in 2008 and we have to make it happen this year as well because I cannot imagine the other America.
Loved the President’s speech. And Cathy Gifford made me sob. We are only ones that can make four more years happen. Remember EARLY VOTING ensures minimal effect of the million of dollars the K*Kbrothers and KarlaRoves are spending on LIES. VOTE EARLY and VOTE ALL BLUE so PBO can have a Congress he can work with and state governments that will work for WE THE PEOPLE!
Some — pardon my language — cunt just made a threat against PBO on Twitter. Had no idea that the SS had a twitter account. A bunch of us have forwarded her tweet to them. She’s about to shit her pants, methinks.
Now they want to start dividing us! Why do the silly comparison between PBO/Clinton speeches, these are from the same family. Why can’t they do comparison between PBO and Romney? Stupid media!
we had the tv on just for the actual speech so all the kids could stay up and we all watch the president together. we were talking at the end and i wasn’t able to turn off the tv in time before hearing tom brokaw bring up the billionaires writing huge checks because of the supreme court’s flawed citizen united ruling, but then the idiot quickly throws in a “but in fairness the unions are also able to spend more…” and brian williams quickly adds a loud, “yes, absolutely” to the unions comment. i saw an analysis last year that showed, using opensecrets.org data, that the unions spend about 1% of what the billionaires spend on lobbying each year. brokaw and williams of course have to do a false equivalency where none exists, and to top it off, THIS IS WHAT THEY IMMEDIATELY TALK ABOUT RIGHT AFTER ONE OF THE GREAT PRESIDENTIAL SPEECHES OF ALL TIME. no comment whatsoever about how great the president’s speech was. it’s insane how slanted “the news” is toward republicans, yet they’ve been pushing this false “liberal media” lie for decades. crazy!!! forward with democrats 2012!!!
This was an awe struck night that will be a part of HISTORY forever. President Obama and Vice President Biden were fantastic. My favorite part was the President asking America for their vote. My favorite part of VP Bidens speech was his heart felt request to remember our veterans. This weekend in my community some folks are asking for help to provide necessities for the troops. I will bring supplies and a note of thanks.
I also want to give THANKS TO OUR CHIPSTICKS…..THANK YOU for working so hard in your support of President Obama…bringing people of like minds together with a devotion to support PBO and get him re-elected.
You totally deserved the party after the long ordeal you went through! I am sure you are exhausted in a good way. You bring so much joy and spunk to this space. I absolutely enjoy reading all your posts as well as all your musical selections..
Dudette, you and you sister are A SCREAM!!! To ease my curiousity, did you register with your local OFA team before you left?
The only reason I ask, is that our local OFA made “watch [party” arrangements for the people that they knew were going to Charlotte with Communtiy Credentials. So, maybe, yours did too and that’s how you (as a cast-away – your word, not mine!! 😆 ) got the message and others didn’t. And registering for the call may have also had something to do with it. They track ERRRRRRthing! LOLOLOL
I am freaked at how perfect a human being our President is. And he believes he is imperfect…. his humility…. his intelligence…..his compassion…. we are so blessed to have him. Thank you Chips. You make it so easy for us here and I am grateful.
Oh Wow. I love this painting. I would love to have a copy. Thanks for sharing.
Just basking in the glow of the DNC Convention. We know how to do the thang.
I am glad that President ask for our vote. He does not take us for granted. He left no stone unturned. I love the First and Second Families, especially President Obama.
Good evening TOD! Just home from the community watch party. Great crowd, great enthusiasm. Mix of folks from my town (pop. <2,800) and folks that found event on barackobama.com! Here are a few pics! Now to catch up here…
I don’t believe in God. I’m pretty much an atheist. But I can’t help but feel there is an Immanence, a power that connects us all if we are receptive to its presence. The next two months may be the most trying since the Civil War. The hate will be redoubled as those who hate what America is becoming flail about in a futile attempt to stop it. I’m already seeing it on Twitter. We have to rely on each other, believe in that connection that joins us into something greater than any single one of us. It’s all we have to hold onto.
The America projected by the last 3 days of DNC is not the America the RWNJs care to see. They will double down on their mantras of hatred and derision and it will be very, very ugly but we will be steadfast and resolute in our support for this 21st C America. This is now a place where we are forming new communities with new rituals and new leaders. A place where everybody belongs if you will only just stop hating. PBO has proven tonight of all nights that he is in fact a transformative LEADER.
I’m 100 percent atheist and I love our President with all my heart and I’m sure going to do what I can to get him re-elected. I support him because he cares for the weakest among us. He does not want people tossed out of nursing homes. Or living their last days in misery and poverty. I care for him because he cares for all of us. I don’t have to be religious to care for other human beings. President Obama is the president of all of us — ALL of us.
I love the responses on this blog. What else can you do but respect a great man whose first words after “Thank you,” are to address his wife with thanks and honor? Wow, and the Christian right doesn’t see this man as an example of family values? It blows my mind. And to watch him after the speech, talking with his daughters. That was authentic, and beautiful. Thank you, Mr. President. You give ME hope.
The ground just shifted. This wasn’t standard electioneering. The Lincoln quote conveyed the weight this man carries and how seriously he takes his role as President. Cynics and unserious folks like Paul Ryan and Mitt Romney need not apply. This was a statesman, imploring the sane people in the country he believes in to save it with faith, in ourselves, our future and each other.
Love it!
DF! yes you did!
WOW!
YES!
Ours is a future blessed with extraordinary leadership
Spot on!
Absolutely concur…
My heart brims over with such pride, hope, joy…
We have the most spectacular and most extraordinary President & Vice President and their wives and kids are absolutely amazing too…
We must do everything in our power to keep it that way for four more years…
We must re-elect America’s once in a generation leader, President Barack Obama…
Yes we can!
I am so happy that the President is our President. I dint even know if that makes sense, but he Is so awesome.
Wow!
Gotta go wipe my tears off my Cheek…
Amen.
Double Amen! Our President is one for the ages!
Indeed
We need to go get that lottery ticket, kathryn! 1111 🙂
He did it and more!
We are the ones that we are waiting for.
We are the change that we seek.
Btw- not even Chris Hayes can ruin my mood, but he is a Jerk!
Wooohooo! Yipeeee! Wooohooo!!!
I don’t care if I hear another sentence uttered by him for the rest of my life. I wish he would just go gab in a coffee shop somewhere with other deep thought pretenders and leave us all alone.
Ha, I love that…deep thought pretenders!
And Ezra Klein can join him there and get off my teevee forever more. Agonizing irritating smugness.
I am going to re-watch all the videos that Chips posted! I want to relive this convention!
People, now go out canvas, register voters, talk to everyone, do what you can to get this President re-elected!
OMG! What a man! What a speech!
I love Roger Ebert and his amazing spirit. He’s not the only one crying.
I agree with you 100% Mr. Ebert, we do need POTUS and VP Biden. I just love the respect and friendship between the Obamas and Bidens .
Song “When a maaaan loves a womaaaan!”
I love our President.
I love your President.
Bottom line, we need more patriots in this country.
CHIPS,
1. YOU ROCK!!
2. you’ve been such a wonderful source of Obama joy…thru dark times..thank you
I agree, thanks Chips!
Totally second you rikyrah! But you also “rock”, rikyrah! You have been steadfast in supporting the President in different venues.
What a wonderful speech. Thanks Chips for your amazing coverage.
DONATE!!
Wish I could.
simply awesome.

Eric Hoffer (1902 – 1983)
Perfect choice.
If the election were held tomorrow, and all voters where required to watch both conventions, Romney might just win…Utah, but only if he got lucky.
THIS!
I have to believe there are people in Utah who care about their futures, their families, their health, their kids. They’d vote for President Obama, too.
You speak Truth, Japa!
Yes Chips, thanks, how you do what you do is amazing!
I’m so filled with pride right now. So proud of our wonderful president. He seemed to draw so much energy from speaking to the nation tonight I could have sworn that he was getting younger by the minute. Just saying…
THIS!!!
Joyce, my thopughts exactly. He reminded me of the 2004 speech his whole body language. He was full of energy and he energised us all.
I thought he seemed younger, too.
whew. just trying to catch my breath from these glorious last three days. i left this a couple posts back, but wanted to leave it again after seeing president barack obama (!!) speak:
Well said!
Not a dry eye in the house when Gabby Giffords led the pledge. She’s amazingly wonderful and TOUGH.
“This is a national purge of the republican poison.” YES that is what these past 3 days have felt like!!!
I am with you 100%! We have to work hard to accomplish the task you’ve laid out.
{{{{{{{{{{CHIPSTICKS}}}}}}}}} oh Yes! 😆
Oh poor Romney (NOT)!
Great speech, great president, great convention.
I’ve been praying with you, Formerly Fred. God is good.
AMEN!
Fred, (((((((((((( Lots and lots of sweet hugs to you and Mom))))))))))))))) Keeping both of you in my thoughts and prayers. Be kind to your gentle spirit and allow it to receive all of the beautiful gifts of our spirits of love coming your way. HZ
I knew would give the best damned convention speech of them all.
Those damn billionaires should stop wasting their money trying to take down the President and put it to work hiring some people. Act like Citizens and do what’s right for the country!
I hope I did you proud.
https://donate.barackobama.com/Tonight
Let’s go win.
Barack
He’s so humble.
Clinton spoke? Ha!
OHHHHHH WHAT A NIGHT….
Aww yes!!!
prettyfoot58, Oh what three nights the Democrats. It was a great convention.
🙂
Clinton is a great speaker and his speech was a real barnburner. PBO’s style is different. When Clinton finished he had tears in his eyes. When the President finished, the entire crowd had tears in their eyes.
Love them both but PBO is the future.
Absolutely spot on Sue…
May God continue to abundantly bless, protect, guide, guard, defend, instruct and prosper our spectacular President and Vice President and their loved ones…
Amen.
Amen
So glad to see you commenting again Sue; I join you in prayer for PBO and his family.
Another beauty SUE. I have been thinking of your earlier post about the man that helped Jesus carry his cross…it stayed with me all day…that vision of a black man helping Jesus carry his cross.
After the President’s speech:
1. Potty break.
2. Figure out what to do tomorrow to get this man re-elected in 61 days!
I LOVED THE SHOUT OUT TO “CITIZENSHIP.” MORE OF THIS PLEASE.
EVERY THING THAT WAS ACCOMPLISHED WAS BECAUSE OF “YOU”. YOUR VOTE MADE CHANGE HAPPEN.
the pundits are trying their best to find something….negative to say…but they cannot steal my jOY!
Great loving photos. Another fabulous night and a superb DNC; possibly the best I’ve ever seen.
Oh and I stand corrected about the Black Eyed Peas song.
Let’s face it, some people just can’t be reached. They are too far gone. This just sounds like gibberish and out of touch with reality.
yep heard that……education will go a long way in changing the conversation
Did she mention who we will be warring against. Or just anyone…
Some psychos are out there talking about a race war if President Obama wins reelection. I guess a Prez Mitt Romney would protect all the White people.
I wouldn’t bother requoting that. It’s idiocy.
I agree. Except I always call these ignorant assholes BIGOTS. Because that is what they are. Racism is a verb. BIGOT is a noun.
gobrooklyn, who is it going to war in the United States?
Let me put this as politely as possible: fuck you very much.
Back to the reality-based community, please.
Good night TOD family.
I have a feeling that the brushing off his clothes thing is a nervous gesture. She seems to do it when she’s nervous for him. They all looked so relieved after his speech was over! This was a big (and successful) week. Game on!
9 million Tweets from the DNCC!
Al’s response to the speech:
Al Giordano
I am now officially against term limits.
lol, my son & I already decided we should really change that law in the next 4 years. Lifetime President Obama 🙂
Can we change the rule for him???
Yes We Can! 🙂
Or atleast clone him ?
He’s an original. The mold was broken after him. 🙂
So am I Al. 🙂
😀 I love Al.
Bless you Ms. Chips. Thank you.
Emotions! So blissfully tired…..sleep please come soon.
Miss Chips words fail me. Your work is stupendous.
Since I can’t vote or donate, do you know if I can buy stuff from the store?
Unfortunately, we cannot. Seems so unfair when donations are streaming into the repukes from outside the country.
DITTOOOOOOOOOOOOOO …I HAVE NO OTHER WORDS TO SAY….
I AM SO FULL OF EMOTION…GOOOD EMOTION…I LOVE MY PRESIDENT AND I LOVE THIS BLOG…I WILL WORK AS HARD AS I CAN TO GET OUR PRESIDENT RE-ELECTED…..
FIREDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD UP
READYYYYYY TO GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
Oh yes, that quote nearly did me in. We must be vigilant in prayer now, as well in doing all we can to keep him in the White House.
Amen dear Eve, Amen…
Also, more Great News in Europe, perfect night-
http://www.nytimes.com/2012/09/07/business/global/european-central-bank-leaves-interest-rates-unchanged-at-0-75-percent.html?_r=1&hp
Thanks jovie141…I can always count on you t bring “it”…my friends think I am amazing because of you (and others here at TOD). Keep it coming…
Agree. From your lips (fingers in this case) to God’s ears! Forward!
Amen.
Amen.
Amen…
America the world is counting you to re-elect this Great Man President Barack Obama
Thanks Chips you have made this fan girl night; thank you for sharing this beautiful site.
We’re all praying PBO is re-elected for the good of us all.
FORWARD.
Utterly cool!
This has been amazing, Chips! Thank you so much Chips!!!
I am not far behind you, Carolyn. I will soon be sixty-six, and feel that God has saved my best days for my old age.
We have been blessed, all of us.
CHIPS ‘ANGELICA’ CHICA, THANK YOU FROM THE BOTTOM OF MY HEART!! This has been my best convention evah!
You have done far more than expected, at speeds swifter than Usain B, bringing the convention to us. BLESSINGS! If you ever need a
babycatsitter, I’d try to fill in as long as it’s not during the Inauguration period [and you know I’ve never had anything to do with cats].Love!!
ps: Wonder where Dudette actually watched from
ps2: Where is GGail? It has just occurred to me that I haven’t seen her in a while and she would have loved this entire time together.
TODers, this is it. This is PBO at his very best, in his driver’s seat, asking us to join him on the next leg of our journey. WE must support him in every way we can. He is the man of the hour!! The man of our lifetimes!!
I don’t give a damn and care zilch, about this negative spin by these effing pundits. Our Potus, VPotus and the entire dems did fabulous. No one is gonna rain on OUR Parade. TeaNN, ezra klein, screw you.
Hayes, Maddow,chuckise too.
Awwwww…..
Such a different response from the one the Republicans seem to get when they play artist’s music.
Good Night, TODville and sweet dreams! GOTTA catch up on some sleep after these three nights of partying.
and OMG, yes I cried.. he always says just what we need to hear, he brings the truth and his heart. I could not imagine anyone else as President.
Yup – I like that he takes this all very seriously. He didn’t come there to perform – he went there to begin the hard fight to win a second term. He knows that there are many lives relying on him.
😆
Goodnight Chips. Goodnight TOD! Goodnight Mr. President, we’ve got your back! 🙂
more from al giordano:
I friended him a while ago. He didn’t let me in. 😦
Saint Petersburg Junior College Seminole Campus, needs Some help setting up for the Presidents Visit Saturday.
Guess who is helping out?
You and your wonderpuppy?
it’s about the house and senate now, everyone. we must elect elizabeth warren and tammy baldwin and all the other democrats. we must!! imagine what president obama could do with a congress he can work with. we must!!!
Where’s Chips?! I have a question of great importance to ask her.
(Ahem.) How do you feel about the rumour that Pep will take over Man U next season? 😀
You’re very naughty.
Great speech, great night, great 3 days, GREAT CONVENTION. I’m off to bed now happy and hopeful that numbers or as good or better than predicted.
Night guys.
Nite all
@LunarSea: We need send that fool a thank- you card!
Our warrior Ms. Chips is steadfast at her post. Standing tall, proud, unwavering, undaunted, taking no hostages.
Sleep well, Ms. Chips, sleep well. Job well done!
Great night. Great week. Great man. Great God. Have a good night, TOD.
Me too. This was powerful to me.
It reminded me of PBO’s essay on Lincoln’s eyes, a very beautiful and poetic ode to sadness and strength.
Beautiful ut, I feel exactly the same way.
You know, after reading your post, I got to thinking about this, realizing that this also stopped me in my tracks. It reveals to me how hard it has been at times for PBOunderneath that cool calm exterior. Made me love and appreciate him more than ever.
I felt what a humble man. What a pure heart. God chose the right person for this job at the right time. He was and is never alone.
YES INDEED…LORD HAVE MERCY!
Yes, it hit me too.
nihgte all, I’m just about done wiht the daiquiri. Now I’ll jsut stmbel off to beed… urp….’cuse me…bed.
hilarious, Cookemom!!! Good night
You are a most delightful nut! Too funny!
This GIF captures one of the best moments after Pres. Obama’s speech. A Must View.

aww
Precious. ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥
The. Best. Ever.
I’m still marveling at this family. Wow, has Sasha grown up. Overnight!
I am crying so hard. LHM I had to DVR the convention because I had to work tonight. When I think this President can’t make me cry harder, he does it again lol.
He did make us cry with his precious words –> there are better days ahead.
I choked up when I saw them. Overnight.
Me, too. Where has the time gone?
I meant Gabby Giffords. Sorry about that Gabby 🙂
Some — pardon my language — cunt just made a threat against PBO on Twitter. Had no idea that the SS had a twitter account. A bunch of us have forwarded her tweet to them. She’s about to shit her pants, methinks.
I saw her tweet. It was chilling the hate she has for Pres. Obama. It scared the crap out of me.
She’ll be the one scared when the SS knocks on her door.
May the worthless piece of shit lead the most miserable of lives, scumbag.
Storm clouds are about to wreck her life.
I sincerely hope so, LL.
I hope she feels the sting of the entire upper apparatus of the President’s protection. These idiots are the worst there is.
They are just so full of hate. They don’t even know what they believe, because their thoughts are not their own.
LlOOKING AT THE PICS OF THE POTUS AND FLOTUS…WHEN THEY LOOK AT EACH OTHER LIKE THAT …I CAN FEEL THAT MAGNETISM BETWEEN THEM…
NIGHT NIGHT EVERYONE…IT’S BACK TO WORK TOMORROW…WHAT AN EXTRAORDINARY WEEK IT HAS BEEN……….
Good night everyone, fantastic 3days.
I saw a tweet running across the screen on MSNBFOX, it was from that twit with that show NOW? Asking the same dumbass question. Idiots!
Unbelievable! Both sides do it!
Wassup My People! Do we have an awesome President or what? Wooooot!
We sure do Dudette!!!
Yes We Do.. hope you had a wonderful time Dudette.
Today was FANTASTIC! We’re sitting in a restaurant upstairs from where Tweety and Rev Al are broadcasting right now! 🙂
Met a bunch of great folks! Saw a few celebs. Partied hard during the speeches! Totally exhausted!
You totally deserved the party after the long ordeal you went through! I am sure you are exhausted in a good way. You bring so much joy and spunk to this space. I absolutely enjoy reading all your posts as well as all your musical selections..
Aww thanks Nathkatun! I feel blessed to have been here to experience this day and equally blessed to have my TOD tribe! Thank you Chips!
LOLOLOL
What a beautiful night. I love you Chips! I love you TOD! I love my President. ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥
I am freaked at how perfect a human being our President is. And he believes he is imperfect…. his humility…. his intelligence…..his compassion…. we are so blessed to have him. Thank you Chips. You make it so easy for us here and I am grateful.
Incredible. I love it
Oh Wow. I love this painting. I would love to have a copy. Thanks for sharing.
Just basking in the glow of the DNC Convention. We know how to do the thang.
I am glad that President ask for our vote. He does not take us for granted. He left no stone unturned. I love the First and Second Families, especially President Obama.
just made a donation to the President…
Good evening TOD! Just home from the community watch party. Great crowd, great enthusiasm. Mix of folks from my town (pop. <2,800) and folks that found event on barackobama.com! Here are a few pics! Now to catch up here…

Watched the DNC all 3 days on PBS in Georgia. I’m going to miss all the beautiful faces of those cheering delegates.
they’ll be joined by many more on the victorious election night AND then again at inauguration
LL hate will come like a vengeance when its downfall is imminent. Light will overcome darkness every time. Love is the victory.
So, no no
countrychair for old man, then ?New post everyone:
http://theobamadiary.com/2012/09/07/a-breathtaking-week/
PBO’s quote from Lincoln reminds me of this eloquent essay he wrote in July 2005:
What I See in Lincoln’s Eyes
http://www.time.com/time/magazine/article/0,9171,1077287,00.html
IN… CRED… DI… BLE!
