I can hardly wait for tonight. I was talking to my sister just a few minutes ago and we were discussing the convention we are in sync on this President.
I have a request, I ususally don’t do this, but my Daughter-in-Law was taken to the hospital with dehydration and it turns out she also lost feeling in her feet and was very painful. Just talked to her and she will be there for awhile. They think she has some clots to deal with. She is a rhumetoid arthritic since 9 years old and the meds she has had to take all her life has taken a toll on her. Please send some prayers and thoughts her way for Brenda in Texas. Thank you, your friendship means a lot ot this old lady.

GOP Suggests Democrats Are Hostile To ‘God,’ Ignore Lengthy Passage On Faith In Platform

The Romney campaign has now jumped on this issue, sending Vice Presidential nominee Paul Ryan out to bash supposed Democratic hostility to faith:

”It’s not in keeping with our founding documents, our founding vision. I’d guess you’d have to ask the Obama administration why they purged all this language from their platform. There sure is a lot of mention of government. I guess I would just put the onus and the burden on them to explain why they did all this, these purges of God.”

You show how much your faith mean to you by the deeds you do, not the words you say. See Paul Ryan and Mitt Romney lies all the time, last time I check the Bible said thou shall not lie. And if Ryan want to talk about the Lord, ask him about his hero Ayn Rand, the atheist.

Our FLOTUS was magnificent!! I watched the speeches on C-Span, then after Michelle, went to MSNBC hoping to see Tweety. Instead, we had Rachel and the PL who all looked like they were at a funeral. What was that about? I had to turn it off. That was a terrible group of people to be hosting prime time coverage.

I loved last night. I was really glad I watched it on C-Span. I also recorded it on MSNBC and CNN. I am becoming like my oldest son was in high school. He used to read different newspapers to see how the journalists reported the same news. I want to see how the different stations and pundits commented on this. I wanted to see it in total without the interruptions in the first place though.

Hello TOD. Thank you so much Chips for the WONDERFUL coverage and camaraderie here last night.
I was away for family celebrations last week…nephew’s wedding and two big surprise birthday
celebrations. Luckily all this happened during the RNC crapfest :).

Tried to comment last night with all of you but computer would not access this site. However
I enjoyed just following along and sharing in everyone’s joy.

Deval Patrick hit a nerve and had me yelling and fist-pumping. All the speakers were great.

But MICHELLE. WOW..WOW..WOW. She took my breath away and had tears streaming down my face.
What a LADY. The only thing I would add to her speech is that she is not the only one
in love with her Husband. 🙂 🙂 Thanks again CHIPS for all your hard work. Love ya bunches.

Here’s the thing with the cancellation of the stadium address. If the Republicans had planned on that (which they wouldn’t because they know they couldn’t get 20,000, much less 65,000) they would hold it anyway because they could care less about the attendees. PBO and the Dems do care about the well-being of their supporters.

Well here are all of us bright eyed and bushy tailed O peeps, after a rip-roaring good time last night! TODville remains in the after glow of a mighty fine line up of intelligent, good looking, members of our team on this great getting up day!

Kudos 1,000 times to Grand Marshallene Chips, who led the TOD parade in the absolute greatest and most thorough coverage of the convention. I was able to forward all of the speeches and tribute videos to my email addresses. Most of them are my many older relatives and friends who are not social media savvy, nor have the cable. They only use the internet for emails and maybe to get pictures and stuff from family.
Thanks Chips for allowing them to still be upfront and center during the non-network prime time coverage.

My political take today is while we can’t uncork the champagne yet, last night brought back all those wonderful memories of 4 years ago. The DCCC is calling for a statewide day of action for Illinois this Saturday. I’m sure the same initiative is taking place in other states as well. Go to the DCCC site and sign up to volunteer to make calls or knock on doors. It’ll show you the locations closest to your home where they need help. It’ll also give you the closest DCCC office to make calls. Whether the DCCC or OFA, find a way to volunteer or donate. All hands on deck——->FORWARD!

FLOTUS looks so beautiful in all those photos. It’s funny, but I remember Miss Ann had the same pose as that first photo (hands to the face) – but she had big clunky watches and bracelets and ugly red nail polish – Miss Ann just didn’t look as fine as FLOTUS!

If you care to compare, it’s Photo #2 at the bottom of this URL:

In all fairness, which I try to be, Anne is quite a bit older than FLOTUS. I don’t know her age, but she just won’t be able to carry off the same style as FLOTUS and look age appropriate. I don’t think we should get in the weeds about looks or style comparisons. Fingernail polish comparisons is a real stretch. There will be many who feel that Michelle’s lavender nail polish was not exactly FLOTUS worthy. We got plenty on them, without going to physical or style comparisons.

Now if we want to do attitude, policy, compassion, trustworthiness, truthfulness, philosophical, or pet care comparisons, then game on. The other stuff, meh…..

You’re entitled to your opinion, and I’m not that much in to all that fashion and style stuff myself, but after hearing right wing attacks on our First Lady for 5 years about everything from her style, her dresses, her shoes, her jewelry, to her body shape, her legs, her arms, her butt, her hair, her face, her teeth, her lips, her dark complexion, the way she talks and walks, her temperament as an “angry Black woman, a hippie, a terrorist, and on and on and on,
You’re going to have to forgive me if I say I liked her dress better than I like Ann Romney’s.

Oh I agree, I liked Michelle’s dress better too. I’m just not going to start comparing them to each other for style points. I will not go down to their level of criticism, I’m better than that. Let them attack, that’s all they got. It doesn’t serve a purpose to get down in the mud with pigs. You end up dirty, and the pig loves it.

She will remain in Charlotte because today is her day to visit the caucuses and attend to other convention business.

      September 5, 2012 at 12:44 pm

I think FLOTUS is staying, and POTUS is flying down today. FLOTUS and SLOTUS are leading a USO sponsored care package packing day for troops tomorrow. They did service projects four years ago, and will do so again this year.
I’m tired of comparing 2008 with this year. The country is in a completely different place, fortunately. Four years ago we were all just so glad to be done with GWB….and almost surprised that we had survived his awful eight years. Now, we’re on the road up, POTUS is leading us, and the sense of desperation is not here, fortunately. YES, we are SO much better off than four years ago. Four years ago we had come through TWO long, hard-fought primary seasons; this year we had one long clown-car exhibition, but POTUS kept working for us and moving us ahead. A BIG difference. No two election cycles are ever alike….why can’t the MSM figure this out????

Jennifer Carroll, Allen West lead Romney’s “black leadership council”

Florida Lt. Gov. Jennifer Carroll and U.S. Rep. Allen West, R-Plantation, are among three national chairs of Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney’s newly-named “Black Leadership Council.”

“I am proud to have the endorsements of so many leaders in the black community,” Romney stated in a release issued by his campaign. “They know all too well that the economic downturn that has continued to hammer our country has been even more devastating for black Americans. Together, we will work to end that downturn, and we will not rest until all Americans have the jobs they need, the quality education they are owed, and the opportunities they deserve.”
In the release, West called Obama “a disappointment.”

Interesting. Not long ago I went to Mitt’s official site looking for a blog where folks could comment. There wasn’t one and I still don’t find it there. At that time under ‘communities’ there was a community for every ethnic group, except AAs. I thought this strange in a way. I thought the AAs weren’t even pander worthy to him. Now under ‘communities’ the Black Leadership Council is listed, but there still is no AAs for Mitt as the other ethnic groups are listed. It’s glaringly obvious. Oh well, maybe Mitts will open his site up for his supporters to comment. Then again, he may be a scared of them.

Bill Clinton: GOP Voter Suppression Laws a Sign of Desperation

    By Ari Berman

At an event on Tuesday night organized by the Arkansas Democratic Party, former President Bill Clinton offered a preview of his prime-time speech at the Democratic Convention tomorrow. He defended Obama’s stimulus and healthcare plans, and ridiculed GOP efforts to blame Obama for the national debt, saying, “They built it.”

At the end of his speech, Clinton took aim at the GOP for passing laws across the country that will restrict the right to vote for minority, low-income, young and elderly voters, singling out the swing states of Pennsylvania and Ohio as the worst offenders. Said Clinton:

“Do you really want to live in a country where one party is so desperate to win the White House that they go around trying to make it harder for people to vote if they’re people of color, poor people or first generation immigrants?

The Most Extreme Race-Based Positions Of Mitt Romney’s New Black Leadership Council Chair

The Romney campaign announced Wednesday that Rep. Allen West (R-FL), the Tea Party darling from Florida, will be one of three chairs on the Romney For President Black Leadership Council.

    Allen West?

West will serve alongside Rep. Tim Scott (R-SC), and Florida Lt. Gov. Jennifer Carroll to “help facilitate dialogue between Mitt Romney and respected leaders who provide unique expertise, experience and knowledge on a range of issues impacting black American communities,” according to a Romney press release.
