Thanks. Tweeted. One their goals is to flip the Minnesota legislature from R to D. Hope they can do it. The Governor is the only thing keeping us from being Wisconsin.

We have a progressive radio station here in the twin cites, AM 950. They were talking today about RT Rybeck. The only thing is we have two great senators already and the governor is Dem, so he will need to be patient if he wants to run for higher office. He is very cute yes! When Pres Obama came here to campaign for heath reform, a lot of people wanted RT to run for Governor and I signed a petition that was been passed around while we were lining up to see the Pres. I’m sure he would have won easily. I hope he is patient and stays in MN. He was one of the first people to endorse and campaign for Barack Obama.
But I am happy with Gov Dayton tho.

I love the co-ordination of these two nights. Last night was mostly health care, we’ve had women’s issues tonight, now business….and clear underscoring of the situation four years ago. If you notice, which I know TOD people are smart enough to do, these speeches build on each other and re-emphasize each other. Some points NEED to be made time after time for them to get through to the average, underinformed voter. This is not redundancy, but emphasis.
The Republican convention was totally scattershot…..I saw a tweet from Priebus or someone that no one mentioned “jobs” last night. Well, they still haven’t caught on to the Obama campaign’s long game…..there is an arc to this story, and they are following it. My husband just mentioned, “This really moves.” Very important. Nothing is too long, and interest is kept.
As a former drama instructor, I recognize how they are building each night. By the end of the convention, the entire story will have been told, and the campaign will have clips for ads for the next two months. They are smart. What can the Repubs use from their convention??? NADA!

Good Evening TOD’rs. Just an update: my daughter-in-law came through surgery ok for now. She is getting heart beats back in her foot, they did find a clot and took it out and they are trying to figure out where her fever is coming from. She is not totally out of the woods yet, but she is better than before. THANK YOU ALL FOR YOUR PRAYERS. All your prayers were answered. I am sure she will have a peaceful night.

  23. September 5, 2012 at 9:25 pm

Instead of saying “from the middle out, not from the top down” I wish the speakers would say “from the middle out, because it’s a fact that top down doesn’t work.” Because the former makes it sound like “top down” is an equally valid option.

I’m gonna admit that I had no plans to watch the Clinton speech. I just don’t anticipate it as much as I did FLOTUS or POTUS. but now that POTUS is gonna be in the house, I guess I have to watch it.

This is how you run a Convention. Now that is called RESPECT. Look at that standing ovation for Sandra Fluke. That is called real class for a lady.

This has been beautifully woven together. As Carolyn stated above, being a teacher of the arts, the themes being presenting in our Convention are being executed just plain beautifully. Our President and the entire team of DWS all have put this Convention together to flow where every citizen, who wants to listen, can choose on Nov. 6, 2012 with the facts.

This President has our backs!!!! Sandra Fluke is a beautiful and brilliant young lady.

Just getting home from the phonebank tonight. I know OFA wants to use the momentum of the Convention for these important tasks but I honestly didn’t want to be there tonight. There were only a few of us there since most of the Team Leaders are in NC for the convention and folks obviously stayed home to watch the events.

Thanks Chips for covering everything. I’ll be up late catching up.

Please continue to donate what you can in support of the President. He will need all the funds he can get to fight for re-election in the battleground states.

Sandra Fluke was awesome! It so reassuring to see such smart young people who will definitely be the future leaders of this country. “Drugie Limbaugh,” as Ed Shultz used to call him, is really a has been. He may still be feared and worshiped by aging GOP right wingers, but I am absolutely certain that young people do not pay that much attention to him, let alone relate to his bizarre rants.

On my way out the door to the mtg, I got two more calls regarding change of venue (one automated, one live) wish I had it in me to lie! When asked if I was already in Charlotte, I answered truthfully — NO. The President is going to do a conference call tomorrow with those shut-out.
