Okay, so NOW I just have to watch my FLOTUS tonight. As I’m walking out the door to head the broadcast “luncheon” I get a call from my son’s daycamp. He’s fine, but there went my noontime hang out with regular ol’ dems to watch the Women of the DNC. Oh well, I’ll be happy to watch FLOTUS tonight!!

Why the Obama campaign is cautiously confident in victory

    1) Romney cannot win over true undecided voters in the lopsided numbers he needs if he remains two to three points behind in the key battleground states…

    2) The fact that Obama has not cracked 50 percent is not the harbinger of victory Romney thinks it is…

    3) The Obama campaign believes it has neutralized the welfare attack. Romney is investing heavily in ads falsely claiming Obama gutted welfare reform. Dems initially viewed this as a threat. In their view, undecided voters were processing the attack as follows: The voters didn’t think this sounded like something Obama would do, but if it were true, it would worry them.

That’s why Dems responded so aggressively to debunk the claim; Dems believe the local press in the battlegrounds has handled the issue responsibly and has communicated clearly to undecided voters that it’s false. Dems think the attacks are not resonating significantly with true undecideds, who just don’t see Obama as someone who favors a culture of dependency or “welfare check” handouts…

I’m DVR’ing everything (C-SPAN) so that I can go back and re-watch later if I hear of some good stuff to re-watch, but until I get off work, I’ll be looking online, reading twitter and trying to watch the livestream between my bench work.

Football won’t be a refuge from politics for swing state residents this fall.

President Barack Obama’s reelection campaign is spending nearly $1 million on ads during local programming related to the NFL or college football in key swing state media markets through Election Day, according to a POLITICO review of the Federal Communications Commission database.

      September 4, 2012 at 6:22 pm

one and out huh? I didn’t like that it happened when it happened, but even then I wasn’t prepared to kick him out of the party. If he runs for governor of NJ against Crispy, then I want him to win. If he has other political aspirations, I hope he wins those as well against any Repub that he challenges. He was given this platform because the people on the inside know him, know his heart, and trust him. If they can, then I certainly will.

      • 122 4morefor44
        September 4, 2012 at 6:42 pm

it was such an egregious comment from booker. it’s wasn’t a slip of the tongue or stumble…that would be fine…but it was completely the opposite of truth and scolding toward president obama. he’ll have to do a lot of tangible, positive stuff over time to earn any of my trust back. until then, i’m happy pushing martin o’malley or elizabeth warren instead for higher offices. they have had president obama’s back 100%. that’s my gauge.

Cory will have a few hurdles to get over, but I always remember a quote from LBJ. “I’d rather have him in the tent pissin’ out than outside of the tent, pissin’ in.” That’s where I think the Dems put Cory. He gave a fired up speech about the platform which is important, but still, it’s not a prime time spot, that he probably was on track for, until his greed and ego got the best of him.

      September 4, 2012 at 6:38 pm

Booker is evidently trusted by the DNC powers that be. Whatever he did, whatever the slight, whatever the wrongheaded messaging he did, must have been forgiven. If PBO, the DNC, and the delegates in the hall, can welcome him back with open arms and give him this important platform of exposure, then surely I can accept that they know him better than I. In any case, I want him to proceed with his political aspirations. It could be the difference between a Crispy and a Booker NJ Governor.

I think it’s time to put that divisive stuff behind us. We gotta all be on the same page. I’m not saying not to criticize, that has it’s place. I’m saying that the past can stay there and let’s judge going forward.

I’m volunteering this week for the DNC and today was amazing. I’ve been working 6am-230pm checking in volunteers. Yesterday and today, the volunteers are fired up when they come in for their shift. Today about 9:30 we had the first shift in and things were slow, so a couple of us went to the Women’s Caucus. We were to hear from Nancy Pelosi, Debbie Wasserman Schultz, Sandra Fluke and Donna Brazille among many others. There were hundreds of women and a few men , everyone was FIRED UP when we left the room. Donna Brazille was so good that when Ashley Judd came on after her, she teased that she needed to go to church and Donna took us there.

And Tim has a wonderful wife, Anne Holton, who works hard for teens in foster care and for education. Her ideals came from her upbringing.

Anne Holton was born in Roanoke, Virginia, and is the daughter of A. Linwood Holton, Jr., and Jinks Holton. In 1969, her father was elected as Governor of Virginia, serving from 1970 to 1974. In response to a federal court decision desegregating Richmond Public Schools, she and her siblings attended predominantly black schools near the Virginia Executive Mansion, contributing to her father’s efforts to make Virginia a model for race relations.

Notice how we NEVER hear repubs say “we’re Americans first” ?? No the spend a lotta time telling us that they are the only Americans.. or telling us about the ‘right americans’.
