Hey, first by accident. I was just dropping in to show the TOD site to a friend. šŸ™‚

Congratulations Claire….It’s fun being the first when not even trying. I hope your friend likes it and will join us and not let WP discourage them. WP can be alittle tempermental. Like today.

That finance woman is a dime a dozen. It could have been Erin Burnett or that Scag Maria Bartiblowme (spelling) and the same would have happened. They are all looking for hedgefund husbands.

Bingo. That’s what the ruckus about Obamacare was 2 years ago as well. “Don’t give my hardearned money to those People.”

    • September 1, 2012 at 8:15 pm

In a NY Times article, a republican strategist is telling republicans to attack the ACA as a defense for what Ryan’s budget does to Medicare because republcians are running away from it, even Boehner. It serves them right. They voted for it two times and felt really good about it. They were pandering to the tea party folks, but the LAST thing they wanted was for the wider public to get wind of the fact that the budget they voted for twice changes Medicare into vouchercare. I don’t think the attacks on the ACA will be as effective as they were in 2010 because none of what the republicans said in 2010 came true. Plus, many people have received their rebate checks, and seniors have free preventive checkups and are saving money on their prescriptions.

This may be the best place to put my happy story about Obamacare today. I tried to post it on the next blog but never saw it posted. It may just have gotten slow to post and be there later. My sister-in-law by marriage to my brother has tended to be very much like him. They are like hard core Republicans. He is into guns, no taxes and seems like a Red Neck. She is the head of a hospital lab and did not like Obama or Obamacare.
Today upon having a chance to be alone she told me she is very hopeful that Obama is re-elected. She said Romney is such a liar. That is a complete turn around. She really likes Obamacare and does not want it to disappear. She related all the things that have happened with ACA. It is so weird since I have been telling her that all along and wondered how such an intelligent person could so completely not get it. Now she does. She said it just took her longer to see it and said he is such a good person and she does not even think he lies. Wow!! Just wow!! It’s like pigs are flying. You can turn a person around, but I don’t think I did. I think PBO did it himself it just took her longer to see it. Now lets not give up but keep on keepin on.

Wow! That’s such a positive story! And it makes me feel somewhat hopeful that people can wake up and smell the coffee! Good for your sister-in-law

They had this information on NPR back in March I believe. I remember I arrived at an appointment I couldn’t get out of the car until I finished hearing the entire segment.

Paul Ryan: The Boy is Back in Town

    By Thomas Davis

    —————-

Paul Ryan hit the ball out of the park Wednesday night. Amid a crowd of white, overweight men and women wearing lapel flags, red, white and blue star shaped sunglasses and white cowboy hats waving flags. Their would-be lapdog was at the podium earnestly spreading slander on a fool’s errand for the Koch Brothers, Grover Norquist and Karl Rove.

With the fitting tune ā€œThe Boys are Back in Townā€ from Thin Lizzy’s 1976 album ā€œJail Breakā€ Congressman Ryan approached the podium with all the blue-eyed earnest sincerity of the Catholic school boy he claims that he once was.

As many of us know now, Catholics including Father Fred Daily of a Syracuse diocese have recently decried ā€œThe proposed cuts of Representative Ryan in the Ryan’s Budget (that) are immoral and unjustifiable and will be putting the burden on the poor.ā€ Going on to say, ā€œI think that all people of faith should be in the streets proclaiming the immorality of these proposed cuts.ā€

Hey TOD family, don’t be surprise when the MSM (Faux News not MSM) come up with an excuse not to carry all the days of the DNC Convention. Their excuse is going to be a false-equivalent center around Hurricane Isaac.

They don’t control the narrative, so we must attack them, (i.e. tweet, fax, e-mail, call, express delivery, etc.) especially Chuck Todd, Andrea Mitchell (The Greenspan Lady), Candy Crowley, Wolf Blitzer, etc. We Got This!

I just watched this clip elsewhere and was about to post it on my blog. It blew me away.

On reflection I feel really sad. Because Republicans are lying and race-baiting, it is almost impossible to have a rational discussion about the safety net and what it means to be poor in this country. I totally understand why Melissa got livid about half-way through this clip. But I absolutely ADORE her for doing so. She spoke from her heart about what so many of us feel these days in ours.

Happy Labor Day to all of you. Just got back from a weeks vacation in a farm cottage with my family – our first vacation in 6 years and it was much needed. I didn’t realize how much a break can help you unwind and recharge the batteries. Thankfully, by the sound of it I missed the BS from the repubs convention although I did hear snippits of that robme’s speech uuuuuuuuggggggghhhh!!! It was like nails down a chalkboard. I can’t wait to see President Obama’s speech at the DNC – the last 2 were awesome, especially 2004!!

Well it’s great to be back home and here with you guys. Sanity will prevail in Nov!

God bless and I shall be back here more later after unpacking.

Hey Chips don’t know if anyone posted these vids, but The Daily Show was actually new on Friday (Colbert also) and I know how many of us feel about Jon Stewart and his false equivalences, but when he’s on, he is definitely on. The first segment last night on Clint’s stunt and Mittens speech was…awesome. Here are the videos. Watch ’em, I’m not kiddin’ and try NOT to laugh out loud and smile. BTW, I fully expect Jon Stewart to be back to his usual false equivalences, but last night’s segment was damn good.

Hiya Lamh, thanks a million for the links. I adore Colbert, with a passion, but no matter how good Stewart is – and he’s often brilliant – I can’t actually bear to watch him anymore. He makes my skin crawl. But thank you, I heard he was terrific in those links.
